Back in the 70's, the Silver Spring location had fantastic pizza. Now, it is awful! Did someone forget to tell the cooks to scrap the corn meal off the bottom of the crust before they serve it? In my mouth it feels like they dropped the crust on a gravel road. The toppings are average but with that gravel under the crust it is just terrible. Shut this place down already.

Used to take my fiancé to Silver Spring location in early 70's. Visited here on a busy Saturday night with my wife and another couple. Sometimes if you're very lucky, you can relive fond memories. The antipasti salad, garlic bread and pizza was just as good as that served 40 years ago. Waiter was attentive. Nothing to complain about. We will be back!

I hate to give a place one star, but I cannot come up with anything outstanding, or even just good, to point out about this place. We arrived and were seated immediately where we sat for 12 minutes before walking up to the bar and asking if we should order food and drinks there. After we were informed our waiter "had food come up", the bartender offered to bring us drinks. We got the drinks and again, sat and waited. Our waiter, Miles, finally came over and inquired about food and we placed the order - mozzarella sticks and a pizza. He brought the mozzarella sticks - this is where the experience got tragic. These were in an eggroll style dough and had been fried until all the cheese was simply gone. Unseasoned bread rolls. Yum? Not so much. Moving forward, we pushed the plate to the side and waited for pizza. Our pizza was delivered (second time we saw Miles) and to say the pizza tasted like a cheap, frozen grocery store pizza would be overdoing it and insulting to frozen pizza. It was tasteless, sparse toppings, overly cooked and with some odd texture on the bottom. Even adding red pepper, cheese and garlic didn't really salvage it. At this point of the evening, neither of us had drinks and had not seen Miles again since he dropped the pizza on our table. Again, we walk up to the bar, ask for a box and check and wait for Miles to return. The manager took the drinks off our check and removed the uneaten appetizer, which was a much appreciated gesture. However, the courtesy was far from enough to convince us this was an isolated incident or a place we should give another try. Next time I'll pick up a $3 frozen pizza and enjoy the experience more.

So, we walk into this place... There's a host stand with no host. A server walks past at quite a distance and yells, "I'll be there in a minute". She comes back and seats us. The place is not busy. Maybe two other tables on a weekend lunch hour. After feeling forgotten about, the server finally came over and we order our drinks and food. My drink glass was dirty. The lady at the bar said it was hard water... nope, it wasn't. I got a new glass. Our pizza came. The server set it down and asked if she could get us anything else. I noticed that our pizza didn't have a spatula get the pizza to our plate, so I asked for this. She told us that they don't use spatulas and I should use my fork. I rolled my eyes. Seriously? Our server then disappeared. For a while. A long while. In the mean time, we got to hear another server on the phone just around the corner from our table yelling and swearing on a personal phone call. That sure set the mood. Also setting the mood was the Michael Buble CD on LOUD on loop. The mood sure sucked. So, did they rescue themselves with the pizza. NO NO NO! The pizza was worse than that from the grocery store frozen aisle. Actually, this could be frozen pizza that they serve. Actually, I prefer Jack's frozen pizza to the gross pizza this place serves. Why was the pizza bad? It was A. Bland B. Had tiny square cheese pieces that fell off my slice (not shredded cheese) C. Tasted off - maybe too many processed items on the pie. Oh, our server finally came back. Smelling of cigarettes and gave us our check. I WILL NOT BE BACK.

Love this place. We go a couple of times a month. Pizza is excellent as are most of the pasta dishes. Highly recommend an order of their garlic bread. Great price point has well for all the menu items. Great value.

Came here with the gf after signing a lease to the new apt. Pretty good food. Had the garlic bread for an app which was pretty good. Their pasta was good too. The pizza we had was good. Service was adaquate but I'm sure we'll go back since we'll be living nearby.

Awful experience here just now. I ordered a pizza with extra cheese and an order of cheesy garlic bread. I show up and pay for the order; at which time the guy repeats my order to me sans extra cheese. I mention the error and am told that he didn't take the order so he doesn't know if I ordered extra cheese or not. Besides that he can't do anything once the pizza is cooked. No apology, no offer to fix the issue or anything. I take the pizza because I had hungry people at home and guess what? Not one spec of cheese on the cheese bread. Enjoy the $21 bucks guys cause you'll never get another penny from my family.

WILL NOT BE GOING BACK, EVER!!! I went here on 1-25-2014, a Saturday night with my wife and her parents. The only reason we came here was because my father in law recieved a $75.00 gift certificate from his work, and we thought we'd try it out. The table was way too small to accommodate 4 entrees, 4 drinks, 4 glasses of water, 2 salads and 4 dinosaur sized garlic breads. The garlic bread was very good, the salad was okay (too slimy and drenched in italian dressing for my liking). If you enjoy Stouffer's lasagna that you can buy in the frozen foods section, I would do that rather than come here for lasagna. It wasn't very good. It took quite awhile for the waitress to actually bring all of our drinks over. Yet, aside from all that, we were still having a nice time. The food was mediocre and nothing to remember, but the atmosphere was pretty nice. And then came this. That $75 gift certificate we had intended to use was not accepted by the manager!! She said that she had bad business dealings with that gift certificate issuer, and could not accept it because that company never pays them back. Complete Bullshit. 1.) If you are a good restaurant, you never mention to the customer your personal business dealings. We don't care, and we aren't going to speak to them because that's YOUR job. 2.) Couldn't you take our round of drinks off of our tab? Or an entree or two? 3.) The manager suggested that we SHOULD have told her about this Gift certificate earlier. I'm sorry, but who does that. Normal people gift the gift certificate at the time of payment. BOTTOM LINE: We paid full price, for below average food when we had a gift certificate that was intended to be used at this restaurant. Not worth it.

We first ate at Mama Mia's in Mequon a few months ago on a Friday night. It was busy so one of their servers "herded" our group and a few other groups into the basement. When we arrived downstairs, the lights were turned off and it was cold. The server turned the lights on and all the tables were dirty. She then took us all to another room and told us all to just pick a table. This does not work. Our party of five was squished onto a 4-top table while the 6-top next to us had only four people. When the server came back to take our drink order, I asked for a Moscow Mule. She scoffed that she had never heard of that, and then asked me "You're not from around here are you?" Well, actually, yes, I am from here and I don't think ordering a Mule is that strange. Why would you say that to a customer when you work for tips? We tried Mama Mia's again tonight and were sorely disappointed. The antipasto salad was soggy and flavorless. The garlic bread was okay. The pizza was awful. It tasted like a pre-made frozen crust with Prego sauce and the cheese was a weird texture--not like real cheese at all. I have a frozen pizza in my freezer right now that tastes ten times better. We won't go back. I would urge you to pass on this place and head to Mequon Pizza Company instead. They have awesome pizza.
