I/we keep looking for flaws or weaknesses at this place. Still haven't found any after numerous visits. Superb experience at all times. DGD

We went here for a quick bite to eat during happy hour. Overall we felt that the experience was just "meh" Their happy hour pricing is not as welcoming as others. Wine is about a dollar off, martinis are two dollars off. We had the baked goat cheese and a hamburger. The burger was quite tasty, and is the reason why this review was a 3 vs something lower. Pros - the burger is quite tasty, and they made a good martini Cons - the service was slow and not very pleasant, and overall the food was pricey for what you get

We've eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the food. On a nice evening be sure to sit outside in the screened in patio. My #1 choice on their menu is the pesto linguini.

Went here for dinner with my parents. The place looked dead but i could not understand why. The service was very good but a bit slow. The food was really good and worth the price. The outdoor seating is a lot of fun and nice!!

Two of the three people in our group had the scallop special on a Friday evening. While it looked good at a neighboring table, the scallops were jellylike and bland. The scant 1/4 cup of rice side had an overpowering weird flavor that our server said was coriander. The vegetables were barely blanched and cold. Definitely not worth $28.50! It was an embarrassment as we were taking a first time guest there for his birthday. The third person had an great $14 perch fish fry.

We made it to Harvey's for a large family dinner. Pros: - the service was very friendly considering we had such a group. - desserts were homemade and crusts on the chocolate coffee ice cream cake and key lime were to die for! - had a TV for sports in the bar area (a must in Milwaukee) - drinks were stiff, in a good way! Room for improvement: - Drinks took a while to arrive. - the fried appetizers could have been a bit crispier We will be back, next time were in town!

While looking for a place for Sunday brunch we came across this gem. Creative, delicious, reasonable price and a really nice staff. Apparently since I first visited them they no longer do Sunday brunch according to the website.. But if brunch is still on there at all it is with every penny.

Not bad, aside from being one of the youngest ones there! I've been here a few times already- twice for a fish fry and once for a salad. The fish fry was made with walleye and I found it to be just okay. Nothing special flavor wise, but thought the avocado tartar sauce was a great idea. On the other hand, the duck salad was great. Just a simple salad but the duck was cooked to perfection. I think I'll be sticking with that from now on. My rating may or may not change if the duck salad is just as good the second time around.

I have been there 6 times and have never been disappointed. The bartender, Dan, is always a pleasure and the steak entree is fantastic. The appetizers are always right on. Try the Moscow Mule!

Great for cocktails for after work - definitely the best bar in the Mequon area. The bartender (forgetting his name right now...) is great to talk to and tell him what you do and don't like and he will make you a cocktail that will be perfect for you. The food after eating here a couple of times is just average. I have had steak, chicken, and brunch here (they do have a Mother's Day brunch with champagne included). All have been decent but not amazing. I would suggest this place for cocktails and apps after work in a nice intimate atmosphere but keep it at that.

We had dinner at Harveys this weekend. Pros- easy reservations and plenty of parking. The place is decorated nicely- modern and clean. Our wine selection was nice and reasonably priced. Drinks came fast. Cons- we arrived and the hostess was rude as was the woman showing up to our table. My Mother was with us and she is elderly and takes a bit longer to get "going". They were very impatient with us and made it clear we were being a burden to them. Our waitress was completely clueless. We asked her for her favorite dish and she could only spit out "this is what other people like" and then preceded to tell us what meals she had not tried because they are too expensive and Harvey's only gives them a 50% discount. Really? Then the worst- the food. We ordered the veal picatta. It was dry and very thin slices. I ordered the steak salad and it was awful. The meat was tough and the only vegetable in the salad was a cucumber. This is a more of an "older" crowd restaurant so if you are looking for young, energetic and lively this would not be your place to visit. Too many restaurants in the North Shore/East side that offer great service and food. We won't be back.

The atmosphere is great. The staff was attentive and polite. The house wine was wonderful for the price. The food on the other hand left much to be desired. I ordered the sea scallops and they were rubbery. My boyfriend ordered the steak which was cooked well but had no flavor.

We were there for a birthday party. The food was good - not sensational, but not disappointing either. A bit pricey - but we knew it going in. The waitor was very efficient, but a bit bewildered by the fact that we spoke another language to each other. I had to reassure him we are not talking about him. Portions are generous, and a variety of options is considerable.

Harveys is one of the best, hard to find "go to" places in the area that provides very good, consistent food. The bar and atmosphere are warm and inviting - not what it looks like from the outside. I really like the Rare Tuna appetizer and the Veal Picatta, although never had a bad meal there. They can be busy and backed up at the strangest times / days when you would expect to sit right down, and I have walked in on a Saturday night with 4 and sat right down. I'd say reservations are recommended, but not required.

It's always a great time at Harvey's! We've only tried a few dishes from the menu but they were all delicious. We go primarily for the bar experience. The usual bartender there is Dan, and he's absolutely wonderful. He creates amazing unique cocktails while keeping us happy and laughing, he's definitely a talented mixologist with a great personality. Dan is a big part of our Harvey's experience, however the dining room is very beautiful and the ambiance is very laid back and comfortable. Eating in the dining room is definitely on our to do list but the bar is just always a good time. Great place and I definitely recommend it, check it out!

Excellent place. Food was great. Wait staff had great sense of humor. No wait for a table even for a Saturday night. I'll be back.

Harvey's - Where have you been all my life? The decor is sleek and the servers are quite lovely. It is nice to get dressed up for dinner and not have to leave town. I was eyeing up the cider chicken on the menu, but did not feel I could eat a half chicken on my own. Instead, I had a chicken sandwich that was quite tasty. As one person mentioned, the drinks are great. So many cocktails to choose from. I'll be back to try that cider chicken!

I like the atmosphere and the wait staff was good. We had a great bottle of wine. Appetizer of smoked salmon pate had a bit more cream cheese than salmon. Ordered the duck salad which was good but could have been excellent had they toasted the walnuts and used real bacon instead of bacon bits. I was shocked about the bacon bits ... The salad had fresh pear slices, blue cheese, spinach, walnuts with a Dijon dressing, all good till I tasted the bacon bits. Really and truly I didn't know they still made those:))). I will go back but maybe ask a few more questions about the menu.

My husband and I went here the other night. I'm pregnant and I get sick when I'm hungry, so we called ahead of time to ensure we could get a table as soon as we arrived. We showed up when we were supposed to and they told us to wait a minute. During the next 20-30 minutes we watched two other couples, who came in after us, get seated before us while we continued to wait. We were ready to leave when they finally seated us. Of course, they could have no idea I was pregnant (not showing), but it was just a bit frustrating when they began seating people in front of us after we had been standing there for close to half an hour and we had reservations. Our server was very, very nice and got us our appetizer quickly, but it did seem like the kitchen was backed up as it took quite a while to get our entrees. The food was good, but the entrees left a lot to be desired. I ordered the Mushroom Tenderloin and my husband had the Salmon Japonais. We were both disappointed. I would go back again since it's convenient, but my expectations aren't very high at this point.

my husband treat me for an advance mother's day dinner and i chose this restaurant because its not too far from where we live. Its our first time and we are not so familiar with the area so it took us a few minutes to find the place. We made a reservation just in case the place is crowded and luckily it wasn't. I like the place, at first we were a little bit hesitant if we will still go in because we notice that its all white people (my husband is african-american and i am asian)but decided to just go on since we were already in the place. We ordered crab cake for appetizer and Louisiana Bayou Gumbo for me and New York Strip for my husband. They have a good presentation of the food and the taste is worth for the money that we pay. We will eventually go back at this place. Oh and the waitress is very accommodating, she made us feel comfortable:=)

I can't believe I'm the first to review Harvey's. I'm not quite sure if these are the same person/people who owned Chip n Py's at the same location, but the owner(s) made some significant changes on the menu and on the decor. The food is delicious, the fish and produce are the standouts. Their salads are delectable and fresh, the fish done to perfection. The price is more than right, and the menu has something for everyone. The staff is attentive and friendly as well. I admittedly havn't been to Harvey's in about a year, but if they've kept up with the formula they had going back then, I am sure it's still a great place to have a nice dinner.

Harvey's is our regular "local". We think the bar is their best feature. The mixologists are attentive, entertaining, and experienced. The cucumber gimlet is a must. The collection of fine sipping spirits is exceptional as well as the wines of which the staff are very knowledgable. The whole world eventually comes through those doors which makes this place the best people watching in the area.

We did a business dinner here with 18 people, the server did a great job even though several in our party were English-challenged. I had the steak salad which was really good except for one thing; I would have given them higher marks but the cucumbers in the salad had a bad off-flavor. The others in my party seemed pretty pleased though.
