gotta get the Zach's Three Cheese Chicken Mac with an extra cup of cheese on the side and asking them to replace the chicken with fried chicken. that extra cup of cheese sawce makes such a world's difference, because more sawce the better! dipping mac and cheese in some more cheese?! cheese-ception?! also, free popcorn?! dipping that in the cheese sawce too!? 4.5/5 for the cheese sawce.

Really like the decor here. Reminds of the a back of the woods/road type place back home. The gf and I started with the stuffed wontons. They were great. I ordered a ravioli and I loved the presentation. The ravioli itself was covered entirely in cheese with spinach and mushrooms in the middle and pirces of decent sized ravioli surrounding it. Very very tasty. Decent prices as well. Will definitely be returning as we will be living only minutes away.

Super fun place to bring the family. A nice alternative to Applebee's and the like. We typically like the get the chicken strips or the flatbread pizzas. Both are very tasty. The atmosphere is typical of these type of chain restaurants. Service is typically quick and polite.

This is the most average place ever. I have gone here multiple times with family and never left the place amazed. The food is mediocre and the service can vary from great to the worst ever. I would not recommend going here during the night or weekend because it is always packed. Some how.

This is th first time I've been yo the Mequon location. The service here was fine but I'm used to the extremely friendly staff from the tosa location and I was a bit disappointed. The beer cheese soup was very good. The one thing that I was not happy with at all was that there was no hand soap in the restroom. I asked staff if there was another place for me to wash my hands and they said that I just had to wait for them to change the soap. I asked where the staff washes their hands before they go back to work and I was told that they wash their hands in the sinks in back. So that means that they leave the restroom without washing their hands? I don't think so. I can guarantee that there was staff with dirty hands.

Ick! This is one of those situations when I was pissed at myself for eating here when I could have Yelped a cafe down the street that looked much better! Shame on me! So, the only highlight was the beer cheese soup but it didn't come with the pretzel as promised....MINUS. The bloody I ordered was so nasty and all the fixin's were old...I mean really old...the pickle and olive did not have any flavor like and had been left out for days. Just gross....MINUS 2 I ordered a lunch special, Pizza Bread, where you add your own toppings. Sounded good....got there and it was basically a hamburger bun with pasta sauce on it....MINUS 3. Will not be returning. It was nasty.

I like this place. Friendly for the whole family and food is descent. Had the rib wrap, which honestly didn't seem like it was ribs (even sans the bones). Not exactly sure what it seemed like. I liked it though. I would have given more stars if the wrap had more of whatever meat was in there. Was a whole lot of deep fried onion strings and lettuce and very little meat for $10. Again though, it tasted good.

Very good burger in a pleasant pub atmosphere. Clean restaurant, nice people working there. I'd go again.

There are few places that really do a good job welcoming kids and adults equally and The Chancery is one of them. They have a wide-ranging menu (burgers, pasta, grilled fish, salads, etc.) and their food is consistently very good - I've never been disappointed. The service at Chancery really stands out - patient with crowds and antsy children, happy to help, and good on time. The decor is very family-northwoods-y. My latest favorite is the fish tostadas. The fish is fantastic with the mango on it and while unusual, I like that it's paired with wild rice rather than a weak attempt at Spanish/Mexican rice. Black beans also come with the dish and were on the blah side. Their kids' menu is good, cheap and provides plentiful leftovers. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because while I'm happy to go there, I don't get excited. I'm happy with the food and I regularly clean my plate, but I don't necessarily crave it. I really dig the fish tostadas, but I'd rather swap out the tostada shells for taco shells - much more practical for eating.

This place is probably not going to completely awe you with their culinary expertise, but it's a consistenly easy place to stop by, especially with family and/or young kids. Very casual environment and a well-rounded, traditional menu with something for everyone (sandwiches, salads, burgers, etc). Used to seem a bit more kitcshy to me when I was a kid, but I think they've toned it down a bit and now is more in the Applebees realm. PLEASE try the peanut butter cup dessert, your head will probably explode. Yes, it's that good!

Nice local restaurant in Mequon. Had some sort of bacon cheeseburger for lunch. It was your standard bacon cheeseburger. Big and a little messy, the way I like it. Fries were tasty, the service was prompt though insistent on everyone being orderly ("Everyone pay attention so I don't have to say the special a third time. Or I'll say them again, but listen up." --HA) They have a special deal here for teachers I believe? Like 20% off? I dunno, I was barely paying attention, but pretty sweet. Pretty much saves you the cost of the tip, ya know?

Ask for Tessa the really great new server! Brings plenty of limes for your drink! My folks had the Monday all you can eat shrimp for the 15th time in 2 years. I had a calzone. Veggie sister had bean burger. House made...wow! Consistently good and a good value. Decreased marks for happy hour not in dining room (bar only) and beer prices are a little high.

This place has great food and atmosphere! A real wood fire for pizza, good salads and burgers and sandwiches. Friendly staff. I go there about once a week for lunch. Try Friday. It is the best fish fry I have had and I have tried quite a few. The batter is light and crunchy. The cole slaw is tasty with the balance on vegetables and not mayo. Once in a while I treat myself to desert. Many are homemade and all are great. I love a place that does not feel like every other restaurant. It is more homey. It's part of a local, small chain (I think three or four restaurants). It's a very good place for a casual business lunch or just a place to go with friends. Certain nights have live music so check the signs. I never get tired of this place.

I have enjoyed eating here two times now, but this most recent time was a little different. I have never heard more rood people than what I experienced this evening. People complaining about service, when they had only been sitting there for maybe five minutes. They did not say please or thank you and acted like they were the ones! This drives me bonkers, but I did enjoy my Pub Burger and Oberon!

Constantly changing menu that seems to be getting worse in quality. I like the Nacho Cocktail appetizer. It's a goblet filled with queso and chicken surrounded by chips. Service is ok. Don't come here with high expectations though. Due to budget cuts, you must ask for the popcorn now. It's not automatic.

Checked out the Chancery for Sunday brunch and the ambiance suffered. Maybe it fills up a bit later, but at 10 am we were the only ones there. Their brunch menu is small, but the eggs benedict was quite good. I had a bacon and eggs bloody mart with deviled eggs that was excellent. Bloodies come with beer chasers, and breakfast entrees come with one free mini mimosa. Refills are 99 cents on the mimosas, which you really can't beat! Drinks and food were good, and I think had the place been busier it would have been a better experience.
(3)Alina T.
Yum! Love this place! I get hey curly where's moe for dinner and they have 99 cent mimosas on weekends. Can a deal get better than that?
(3)Michael L.
Service - good, food quality - good, having any clue what a neapolitan pizza is - fail. Ordered the margherita pizza and hoping for a nice surprise but instead I got a disappointment. The crust was fluted like an apple pie... little to zero charring... way too much chesse... While they may have the correct ingredients list, to call it neapolitan is just wrong. I suggest naming it after something local and be proud of it... it wasn't a bad pizza, just not what anyone familiar with this standard would recognize.

I've been to the Chancery about a half dozen times over the last couple years....and usually really enjoy it. This time, not so much. I've always enjoyed their Top Sirloin steak, and apparently this has been taken off the menu. What a damn shame. Every restaurant should have 1 decent steak on it's menu, so we were off to a bad start already. I think our waitress was new...either that, or she was just terrible. I don't expect a conversationalist when I sit down to eat, but she seemed way too timid and shy, and almost afraid to ask for our order. That was just awkward. I ended up ordering the pulled pork and it was ok, but not great by any means. There wasn't much redeeming to this visit at all :(
(2)Sasha W.
Horrible. The staff always seems very cluttered and if it's not pasta night it's not worth going. The burgers are absolutely terrible. I would not recommend going here. (Pasta is good though)
(2)Katerina R.
This place is okay. Love that they give you popcorn for appetizer. Do not get the pasta, it's not that good. Also their starters are pricey compared to other pubs. Stick with the sandwiches and burgers. This place is overall decent.
(3)Carrie C.
Do not order wood fired salmon! It was so over cooked, dry, no flavor....Really bad. Reminded me of airplane food, when they used to serve it on planes....Mushrooms with it were from a can, no flavor...with the spinach. The mashed potatoes were good!!! Those potatoes were real mashed and were good. Veggies were fine. But we really wanted a nice salmon filet and it was awful :( Waitress was nice. But we just couldn't even begin to tell her how bad salmon was. Oh well.... Dessert was good, we took that to go.

Decent meal for the price.

my wife had a burger that was cooked perfectly medium rare. I had the gluten free pasta that was very good. usually gluten free food is horrible so it was a nice discovery. service was kind of slow but they were also kind of busy. overall very pleasant.

If you have more than four people, don't even bother showing up without a reservation. We were told a 15-20 minute wait for a party of six. For 20 minutes we watched people stream in the door and be seated immediately. After 20 minutes, no one had bothered to even make eye contact with us. We finally asked about being seated and were told 10 minutes more. We left.

Stopped in with my wife on our way through. I could smell the hardwood smoke as we got out of our car. Outdoorsy decor, wood burning oven and attentive service. I had the steak sandwich which was absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked filet, onion straws, buttery toasted bun and horseradish sauce. Wife ordered the Margarita pizza which was also very good. I would definitely go back, wish this was in our neighborhood back home!

I really hate doing this. I don't like giving bad reviews in the slightest, but I have to. My experience at Chancery was pretty awful. I was with a party of three and we all ordered soups. They brought out the wrong soup for one person and didn't include the pretzels that are advertised with the beer cheese soup for the rest of us. Mix ups aside, the soups were fine. However, I ordered a salad and when it arrived at the table it was completely inedible. Visibly brown and slimey lettuce, minimal dressing and the taste was completely awful. I sent it back without taking more than one bite. They told me they were going to complete a quality inspection after my sending the dish back but at that point I was so disgusted there was no chance of my being able to order anything else. If that wasn't enough, our waiter kept hovering around our table and apologizing profusely. That would have been welcome, if he hadn't stood there for 5 minutes at a crack, repeatedly, continually talking about how sorry he was, and how awful that was, and blah blah blah. It was so much so that I felt that I couldn't talk to my dining guests. Really, overall, terrible experience. Won't be going back.

The experience here was amazing from the beginning to the very second we walked out the door. The bartender was super friendly and made wonderful drink suggestions...which were yummy of course! The ambience of the place was that of a comfortable hometown bar in the north woods. Interesting considering the outside decor of the building but pleasantly surprising nonetheless. I was there for a birthday, so while the birthday girl was away I asked the bartender to pass along a birthday desert surprise to our server. So after a few delicious cocktails at the bar, we moved to the dining room. The only small complaint I had was that there were far to many servers standing at the hostess stand...I work in this industry and that many people standing at the front is uncomfortable and intimidating to customers. However, I didn't dock them on my rating because the experience continued to blow me away. Our dinner was sooo delicious, it came out quick, and our server was spot on service-wise. My birthday surprise was just the perfect end to a nearly perfect experience...patron espresso shots and a homemade cream puff...what a treat! We got up to leave and were greeted a good night, and right before opening the door the bartender yelled good bye as well...made us feel special. I am not easily impressed because I am a manager in the service industry and am constantly critiquing the experience, and I must say The Chancery is well deserving of this five star rating because it was without a doubt a five star experience.

I might be a little partial because I worked at The Chancery in high school... BUT I absolutely love The Chancery. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is totally Wisconsin and the service is reliable. The food: Waffle fries? Beer cheese soup with a bavarian bretzel?! An artichoke dip and mushroom smothered burger... a fried chicken sandwich with garlic mayo... Cheesehead dream burger with cheese, sour cream, bacon.... mmm my mouth is watering just thinking about it. They've got everything you could want - enough to make anyone fat and happy. There's also salads and lighter fare if you so choose to defy the Wisconsin love-fried or cheesy foods. The atmosphere: wood, pictures of fishing trips, old granny carpet... this place is amazing. Tip: On Tuesdays (at least while I lived there) kids ate for 1 penny/inch of their height. So if your kid is 45 inches tall then their meal would be 45 cents. The cool part (i'm not really into kids actually) is that the pole they use to measure all the kids' heights I actually painted!! Go check out my handy work! I can't say enough about The Chancery... and won't leave a vacation back home without going at least twice!

Great service, food excellent. Pulled pork sandwhiches huge on chibalta bun. Son had angus burger ate it all. Definitely a go to place.

We were pleasantly surprised with this place even though it ended up being a little expensive. Went there Friday night after a bit of shopping in Bayshore and Mequon. I had the Cheesehead Dream Cheeseburger and it was done absolutely perfect. It had a ton of flavor with all of the cheeses, the bun was perfect, all in all a very good burger. My fiance had the Baked Cod with Rice. The fish was pretty good for being baked, it had some spices and the tartar sauce was ok, however it lacked something. With tip the bill was $48 for 2 beers, a Cheeseburger, cup of soup, and baked Cod. I know its expensive to eat out but to me that doesn't seem like a very good value.

OK food. Waitress was OK.

One of my favorite places to eat. Beer is always cold. Happy hour always provides 2 for 1 beers and half priced appetizers. Good menu selection and high quality food. Service is better in the bar than in the rest of the dining room. Great place to hang out and watch a game or just to enjoy a good dinner with friends or family.

Two notches above applebees.
(4)Andy M.
I went there with a work group at lunch. I know lunch is tough to serve because I used to be in the business. The waitress was very pleasant and was very nice to accept separate checks with a smile. The food is excellent. There is a wide selection of sandwiches, burgers, pizzas for lunch. I'd consider it a step above TGI Fridays.

This is a great restuarant for families. Though, I wouldn't go on my "date night". The food is good and well priced.
