Wow! The food, atmosphere, presentation and service were all top notch! Definitely a hidden gem located in the most unsuspecting place. Came here with my family and we were all blown away by the incredible food at a price point 2-3x lower than what you would expect for the same quality meal in a large city. Started with the wedge salad, which was served in the shape of a rose. Thick cuts of bacon were scattered over the top with a delicious buttermilk dressing. Garnishing the sides were slow roasted tomatoes, adding the perfect touch of acidity. Served between the salad and the main course was a house made facaia with chipotle-honey butter. The bread completely blew me away. Soft and tender slathered with the delicious butter, giving it the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. For my entree, I had the pheasant which is not too common on menus. This was exceptional. The meat was tender and came with a small accompaniment of spaghetti squash. There were bacon lardons scattered over the top and a smear of honey mustered in which the pheasant rested. I completely cleaned my plate and only wished the pheasant had been larger! For dessert, we shared the deconstructed cheesecake. Another fabulous choice! Nestled on the sides were cubes of cinnamon dusted butternut squash and crushed graham cracker crumbs scattered the top. The cheesecake itself was the perfect texture and sweetness. Highly recommend! Next time I'm in town, which unfortunately is not too often, I will definitely be back! If you happen to be in the area do not miss this truly memorable gem of a restaurant!

Been here a few times, I don't make it into town much and for years not much in the way of "upscale" restaurants were available. Thomas House was a pleasant surprise to be sure. Good atmosphere, comfortable lounge for that pre meal cocktail or wine, good wine selection and attentive staff. As I am used to fine dining in much larger and more competitive markets, I was not expecting much, but the food was very good, on par with many mid to higher end restaurants I have been to and prepared in their own unique style. Overall good experience and a nice bonus when I find myself in the area looking for good food at a good price.

Wonderful service and delicious homemade pasta. The shrimp scampi, was the best shrimp scampi my boyfriend has ever had, let it be known, he is not easy to please. The dessert was delicious and the ambiance was great with the exception of maybe being a little too bright. My fellow yelpers, this is indeed a central Wisconsin gem not to be missed.

Honest to goodness hi end gourmet dining at incredibly low price points. I continue to be amazed by this place every time I eat here. The food is exquisitely prepared, a fantastic variety, the service is on par with any fine dining restaurant I've been to, & the ambiance is just right. If this place was in any even moderately sized town, the prices would easily be 2x to 3x, so it's an incredible value too! Shhhhh, don't tell anyone, I want to keep this place a secret!

This is a good as it gets, not just for Marshfield which would be damning with faint praise for you can get a restaurant meal here good as you can get anywhere. The Pork and beans are described badly in the menu but are a slow cooked pork shoulder with cannelloni beans. The saucing was terrific. It was a terrific restaurant meal. Salads are tasty, drinks good and you can trust the wine list. Prices are very fair for the quality and the service is professional.

I have been here twice now. Both times the food was very good and the service was just as good. One time we came was NYE and we did make reservations a few weeks before. They were turning people away at the door but the whole time we were there the tables were only a quarter to half full so i thought that was interesting. I've had the salmon and one of the steaks and both were very good. The best thing I had was some corn that was seasonal ( I think) it was shaved off the corn and grilled and fabulous! My boyfriend and I kept raving about it, unfortunately it wasn't the veggie when we were there last time. Either way the atmosphere is warm and inviting and it's a great old building in Marshfield.

My husband and I just had a spectacular dinner here. Him: Ribeye with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Seriously delicious. Me: Hanger steak with roasted potatoes and spinach. I bow down to the chef. It's the sauces that made the meal. They were spectacularly delicious. And the meats were cooked perfectly to order. Large portions-- no way would I have been able to finish my meal without my husband's help. We had the bruschetta appetizer, and it was only okay. That alone took away the fifth star on this review. I liked the tomato and cucumber topping, but the parmesan cheese cup seemed old. (I didn't know bruschetta could be made without bread. I love the cheese cup idea, but the texture wasn't light and crisp. It just seemed...old). We were far to full to consider dessert, but they had two options--a banana creme pie and a cheesecake. The chef absolutely knows what he's doing. I've eaten at 5-star restaurants in major cities across the US. To find such a quality restaurant in Marshfield was a very pleasant surprise. We will probably only be up here once a year for a biking event, but I will ensure we eat at Thomas House every time! Not to be missed!

Order vegetarian off the menu. It is pricey, but likely the best food in Marshfield.

By far and without question the best restaurant in Marshfield and the surrounding area . I'm from Minneapolis and this food is as good as any in our town hands down. I work in Marshfield about 6 times a year and always make it to the Thomas House when in town. I have followed Jamie the head Chef at the Thomas house from the 501 Martini bar where I first discovered his culinary expertise. From preparation to presentation he will not disappoint. Love the Osso Bucco and they currently are not offering that dish. I hope they find a new supplier that meets their high standards and it once again graces their menu. Had the special last night which was an 8 oz beef tenderloin. Cooked medium rare served with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach. All this with a shallot mushroom reduction sauce. YUM! As for an app try the scallops. They are the best! Staff is very friendly, professional and attentive to their costumers. They are always fun to talk to and they make excellent recommendations. This is a must go eatery if your are a foodie.

Been here 5+ times. Scallops always amazing. Love the curry shrimp salad. Wife loves the osso bucco. Mixed greens with gargonzola, apples, walnuts very nice. Left handed Milk stout was awesome once. Can skip the fettuccine alfredo (not bad - but not great). As good is it gets in this area. Best dining in 50 mile radius.

I fell in love with steak on a trip to Chicago and have spent a lot of time trying to find something comparable in our area. Thankfully we found the Thomas House. Their filet mignon melts in your mouth. Im not a fan of risotto in general (which comes with the filet), but they have always allowed me to substitute another side. Their blueberry cheesecake was something else, too! Very good! On our 1st time there, the owner came out to chat about our meal and get input as to how we felt everything was. It was really nice to have such personal service. Although it is out of our budget for regular dining, we like to treat ourselves to Thomas House a few times a year.

Amazing. Warm, inviting atmosphere and wonderful staff. My husband and I would have seriously eaten everything on the menu. The bar was swanky and the restaurant part very cozy. We just moved to the area and were excited to find a classy place for a date night. This place reminded us of "home" in Madison. We can't wait to go back.

Best place in Marshfield and surrounding area. You will not be disappointed with the quality of the food! The ambience is classy but friendly. The staff is friendly, attentive, professional, and fun. The Thomas House is hands down my favorite restaurant.

This is a fantastic restaurant and definitely one of the best restaurants within the area. The meal reminded me of Chicago chophouse style food and at the same time had a uniqueness all its own. If you are used to medium to high-end dining in big cities, you will likely find this restaurant to be a bargain with excellent food. The wine list is extensive and the menu choices are fantastic. I had the Fillet Mignon and it was excellently seasoned and cooked. I also tried several appetizers as well and they were excellent. Parking is not easy to spot but it can be found nearby within 1/2 block of the restaurant/bar.
