Went for the fish fry. I kind of got that "Uh oh" feeling when we were the only folks in the dining room. The bar was hoppin'. But more diners appeared. Waitress was nice and competent, and the food was very good. All you can eat haddock for $11! Baked beans, (awesome smoky flavor) coleslaw, choice of potato and cornbread. One question--- Is it typical to serve cornbread from the refrigerator? It was good, but I've always eaten it warm or room temp. One of their potato choices, "pinecones" are mashed potatoes in a breading, and deep fried. Kind of like a large Tater Tot was their description. They're pretty boring, and could use some help. Maybe garlic, cheese or bacon? Oh, yes. They had the Up Nort' requisite critter heads and fish on the wall.

Ok thought I would try it out a new place and drove down from place in Mercer. Wish I could say I liked the food. Waited 10 minutes to get seated... Actually asked the girl if we could sit.... Sure she said I will bring you some menus.... We sit 10 minutes go by not a waiter to be found.... The girl who said would bring us menus is cleaning empty tables? Got up and left..... Guess they don't need my business

Fun little bar up in the north woods! My dad often visits this place and is now a regular. Every time I've been there, the staff is always friendly and helpful. A couple of months ago, the power went out at our cabin and we thought of the rustic right away as our little savior for a good meal of food. It has great pizza! They make an excellent old fashioned too (if I do say so myself). My dad seems to know most of the staff there, so that's nice that we can buddy up to them. They also have wireless so if you're in the north woods and don't have it yet (still stuck in the 90s era with dial-up), then head on over there and they'll treat ya nice! Nice place with some good food and great service!

Great little roadside bar that serves an excllant pizza pie. When we don't really want a sit down dinner in the north woods we head to the Rustic for pizza and beers.

Who cares if it is next to a gas station? That's actually a convenient feature. I echo Mark's review. It's a great little roadside bar. It has a bit more polish than other places but it's kid-friendly and great for lunch or dinner. Hell, with the friendly staff, why not belly up to the bar and stay for both? Oh, try the pine cones. Deep fried mashed potato balls. Excellent.

The Rustic is always a great dining experience. Definitely has the ambiance of the North Woods. Both regional specialties like Walleye Fingers along with being one of the few places up there that makes a good Pizza.

Not good. Stopped for fish, and salad bar . About. 8 items , sparsely prepared on salad bar. Fish reminded me of fish sticks, and cole slaw was acidic and blah. Decor was upgraded bar scene. NOT a supper club atmosphere .

I've gone to Rustic on three occasions now and have been consistently happy. If you're coming here, pizza is the thing to get. The pizza is great, the beer is cold, can't ask for much more then that. One thing though is that they have 12" pizzas and 16" pizzas, but no 14". There have been times when I know a 12" won't be enough and the 16" will be too much, having a middle size would be a nice addition (though is there such a thing as too much pizza?)
