We are on a road trip and stopped for breakfast. Susie's is warm and inviting. Great, friendly service. Our food was excellent and served quickly, and our coffee refilled regularly. My only regret is we live about 45 minutes away and can't come back more often. I had my make-your-own omelet with onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and feta cheese. Well prepared and generous portions. Hash browns were crispy and delicious. Toast was also good. Coffee was hot and strong. My husband had Susie's Special Omelet with tons of veggies and sausage. I stole a bite, which means I now have two regrets, the second being not ordering a side of sausage for myself.

Wow. We loved this place!! It was packed but we were sat right away. I had a chicken caesar sandwich, my dad has a melt and my mom ate breakfast. everything was hot and fresh. I was going to get dessert (the waitress offered 8 different types of pies!!) but I was full Right off the highway. Service with a smile Plus!!! Clean bathrooms. We'll be back !!

Stopped there for breakfast this morning when passing through. Second time I've stopped, both times for breakfast. Food is quite good. One of the few places that actually knows how to cook hash browns AND I'm pretty sure they were not frozen (pre-cooked, but not frozen). Nicely browned and tasty. Omelets are tasty and well made, with lots of filling. Eggs over easy were perfectly cooked. Good coffee. Overall a great breakfast place. Recommended if you are around there.

Well, on a Sunday morning in October, in Lomira, WI, you're either dressed in your church attire, Packers' gear, or hunting camo...and you're apparently also eating at Susie's bc the place was hopping. We didn't have to wait long for a table, and the waitstaff (who all seemed to be teenage girls) were efficient, polite, and pleasant. Prices are reasonable, ingredients are fresh, and portions are large. We weren't impressed with the homemade hash, but The Boyfriend loved his monte cristo and said his eggs were fresh & perfectly cooked. My omelette was tasty and the veggies in it were fresh & plentiful. Wish it had had better cheddar cheese on top but other than that, yummy. The Boyfriend also wasn't impressed with the coffee but he's a coffee snob. I just liked that they had flavored coffee crack. I'm easy. We would definitely go back.

This is a great casual stop for good food. Well worth the mile trip off the freeway. Tuesdays they serve pasties and it was afternoon and the gut next to me had a really good looking breakfast!! Very tasty. It was great diner fare, friendly informative wait staff and to top it off about 6-8 fresh made pies in the case to choose from. I was so full had to take home a slice of the Banana Creme Pie.... and it was really good too.

Heading to EAA for the fly in and wanted something local. This hit the spot, good food with great prices and fast service.

Susie's is a certified gem. With the friendliest staff and the best tasting food, how can you go wrong? The hot beef sandwich was just right on a cool autumn day - tender roast beef and creamy mashed potatoes under that glorious brown gravy. And then top it off with a piece of warm pecan pie - Wow! (The pecan pie was a tough choice as the Banana Cream Pie was calling my name also.) Whether you're a local or passing through on the nearby Highway 41, Lomira, Wisconsin's treasure is Susie's Home Cooking.

I nearly gave Susie's 5 stars just for my bacon cheeseburger. Yes, it was THAT good! Homemade toasted bun, perfectly cooked hamburger, cheddar cheese, and tasty thick-cut bacon. With a burger that good, I knew I had to try the pie for dessert, and I wasn't disappointed! The homemade blueberry pie was wonderful! This place will now be a planned stop when I'm traveling in the area!

I stopped in here on a Friday night on the way up north. It was right off the freeway and I decided to check it out with some friends. Susie's Home Cooking is just like what you would think. We walked in and it felt just like a country kitchen. The fish fry was tasty and all you can eat. My buddy tried the bison burger which he enjoyed as well. Susie came up my table and checked in on her guests which was a nice touch. Overall, Susie's is a great place to stop if you want to have a pretty good sit down meal on your way to or from your destination.

Stopped in for Father's Day breakfast, and as expected, saw lots of people waiting. Unexpectedly, though, everyone was seated quickly and we sat down to an excellent breakfast. In addition to the usual corned-beef hash, they also have home-made bacon-and-onion hash which was tasty beyond belief. The waitstaff were certainly busy but still made sure everything was in order. This is the kind of small-town restaurant that will surprise you not only with great rural ambiance but also well-prepared food. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful place to stumble upon! We needed a place for lunch on our way up to Minocqua, and this far exceeded our expectations. It was about four blocks west of Highway 41 - just far enough past the mediocre places right at the highway exits that cater to travelers. Susie's was full of locals, which is often a good indicator of value - and certainly was true here. It was very clean, with friendly and efficient service. The food was freshly made and tasty. We will make this a regular stop on our trips to and from the Northwoods!

I was heading north in the we hours of the morning and I thought I would stop buy for breakfast at 6:15 just after opening. At first opening there was no problem getting a booth. I will post pictures of my visit since there is not many pictures to show the world. The place is in the middle of no where and off the high way so you actually have to want to get there and I did. The place Is locals and pretty empty at 6:15. The place has no character and looks like an apartment turned into a restaurant with white walls and track lighting. The walls are covered with yard sale looking art and light wood trim. My service was great with the nice woman who took care of me and she stopped by many times just to make sure all was well. The menu is small but has all the the normal main stay to satisfy. I had the sunrise special with sausage patties. I liked the fact that they had sour dough toast as a option. The sausage patties were thick/juicy and tasted fresh and in the middle of not bland but not zesty. The eggs were perfect sunny side up. The hash browns were cooked perfect. Over all the place is a solid breakfast joint with great food that taste fresh. The service was outstanding and if you want a small town country breakfast this is the place.

Hubby and I just had an excellent lunch @ Susie's! We started with cups of soup. Chuck had beef barley, which he said was just OK, but my cheesy asparagus was a nice change from the usual cheesy broccoli. My soup was a perfect blend of cheese and delicately flavored asparagus. We followed with a fish sandwich (Chuck) and fried catfish (me). My catfish was fresh, hot, and perfectly seasoned. The sides were yummy coleslaw and American potato salad. Both were perfect and obviously homemade. ( The only thing I didn't like was the little cups the sides are served in...whassup w/dat?!? The coffee was hot and my mug was kept topped off. Our waitress almost forgot my corn muffin, but I'm glad she brought it out a little late, it will make a great breakfast! Service was attentive, and cheerful while not being intrusive. We will definitely be back.

I used to love coming here. It's been years since I've been to town. And I have to say service and food was not good.
