After a long day of skiing, me and my cohorts were famished. Fitz's nourished us back to health so that we could continue our long journey home. This is a very relaxed local bar type of place. The service was good and so was the fish fry. I tried the haddock and I wasn't disappointed. I was disappointed in the fried lobster bits, but I shoulda known that might happen. It was a high risk/high reward situation. Don't drop the $11 on making this a luxurious side item. Other than the lobster, I have no complaints and I'd like to try some of the fish they have to offer. The salad bar that is included with all entrees is a nice touch, as it was nice to eat some leafy G's before engorging myself with fried food. If I'm out at Devil's Head again, I'm sure I'll be back.

Great food and drinks right on the lake. The owners are very nice to visit with too!!

Had a grilled chicken sandwich. Fries are extra but worth it. Everything came out quick and hot. Hubbie had the corn & shrimp chowder and made a meal of it. Said it was delicious. Down home bartender with a trivia of the day topped it all off!

Had the fish fry and it was delicious. When we got there the whole place was packed. Were told that the wait would be about an hour but got seated pretty quickly considering how busy the restaurant was when we got there. The best part of the meal was the staff they were very very very very very friendly.

I've only been here for the fish fry. It was excellent. The staff is very capable and handles the crowd really good. Very pretty location. Can't wait to come back.

Great view of the lake, from the deck & from inside. Very hospitable & the salad bar + soup option for $8.95 was a great deal. We might come back for the Wed nite BBQ ribs special.

I live 3 hours away and I would drive that distance just for the fish fry. The food is phenomenal and I am jealous of everyone who lives nearby and is able to go whenever they want!

Always a great place, to go the food is excellent along with the personable and down to earth people that work here , I have to say this place hasn't changed much except for maybe the owners ???? I use to live directly across the lake from here , anyway the breakfasts are always good I never had a bad lunch, and the dinners are great I cant say enough unfortunately I only get to this neck of the woods once or twice a year now so I always make sure that I stop in for a meal

How can you go from one extreme to the other. Was there on a Friday night with 8 people at the table, all were very happy with service and food. I even got something I did not order but kept it and it was really good. Went back the next morning 8 people and we all had an awful breakfast eggs done different on the same plate French toast that I think they forgot to put an egg in it. Eggs Benedict no one liked. They just might need a new Breakfast cook. AWFUL

Was in Cheese Land a few weeks ago. We did the usual and went to Fitz's for dinner on Friday for the fish fry, which was awesome. Then went to Fitz's for breakfast. The food was fresh and the sausage was local.

I went here with the grandparents for breakfast. The pancakes were AWESOME! I was pleasantly surprised and totally chowed down. You wouldn't have expected a decent pancake here especially when you consider that it is more bar than restaurant. Looks can be deceiving...especially in Wisconsin. We were there after Labor Day so it wasn't crowded at all, but during the summer season this place is pretty much constantly filled. As the name of the place suggests, it is on the lake...Lake Wisconsin. They have an eating area outside and several docks to allow customers to drive their boats instead of cars. They had a pretty basic selection revolving around the standards like hash browns, pig meat, and biscuits and gravy. I ordered hash browns, eggs, and bacon with 2 pancakes. During the summer they have a breakfast buffet during the weekends that I hear is very popular. I received a LOT of food. The pancakes were the size of the platter 9"-10" diameter and they were thick. They were the type of pancakes that soak up the syrup like a sponge. The eggs were just OK...I would have given them 2 stars, but they gave me 4 pieces of bacon. The people that ordered a sausage patty with their breakfast received two patties that were the size of 1/4 pound burgers. It was a lot of meat. I thought it was a little pricey, but they make up for it with the amount of food that they give you. I didn't have to eat for the rest of the day! I am definitely going back in the summer to check out their buffet, but I won't leave without some p'cakes.

The view and location was great. The food and drinks were what I would expect in a bad dive bar. Do not expect decent healthy food. If you get food here it better be fried to death and as far as drinks, vodka and soda or beer are safe choices.

Good fried fish. A canopy serving area outside with a view of the water when weather is nice. The brunch buffet was so-so to me but the others seemed to like it. I probably would not repeat that. I don't really like eating inside the restaurant; it is not bad, just a bit 'close'. But in the fresh air it is very nice. The serving staff were friendly and helpful. The prices were about average. The quality of the fish was pretty good. I will keep returning a few times each year. Worth the drive.

I eat at Fitz's on the Lake often. Most recently, I was there on a Tuesday. As I usually do when I'm there on Tuesday I ordered the beer battered Haddock special. Which was very good. They also serve the beer battered Haddock during their Friday fish fry. On other nights they have Blue Gill, Perch, and grilled Salmon. My favorite soup is the roasted red pepper tomato soup. I'm occassionally in there for lunch on Saturday afternoons. My favorite lunch special is the barbequed pork sandwich, which is cubed pork rather than pulled pork.. I like both actually, but I like Fitz's version the best. I've only been in there once in recent years for the Friday fish fry. They get BUSY so take that into account in your planning. Fitz's has a nice little bar, but it's LITTLE so it's hard to find a place to sit unless you go during the week and maybe not then.

1st time here. Popular spot on a beautiful summer evening. 2 hour wait that ended up only being 1 hour. Really quite good " All You Can Eat" Fish Fry. Good sevice. Great atmosphere! Fish has a nice crisp twang to it! As Arnold would say..."I'll be back"!!

Good lakeside experience. Big bar serving all the standards. Someone in our group had a Bloody Mary and said that it was hood. Everybody liked their food. Good burger, good Rueben, standard salad bar. I'll be back.

Good fish, friendly staff and fantastic view. They have a salad bar that comes with the meal for free. My wife liked the salad bar. I would rather not have it automatically included. Overall, a very nice place.

A first rate place, and the place we go most often with my in-laws as it is great food and really close to their place. As per the usual in Wisconsin, they have great fish, and the bar serves em well mixed. Nice place to stop in the summer and fill up the boat and grab a couple.
