I do NOT know what I would have done on my four-month work-related visit to Lancaster if not for Dewey's Cafe. John and Halee put more than the best, freshest, local, organic ingredients (many come from their own gardens) into the food they create, they put their hearts and love into it! Their prices do not reflect this, though--everything is more than reasonably priced considering there is NOTHING near Dewey's caliber closer than Madison. Lancaster has a true treasure in Dewey's.

John and Haley do an outstanding job. This is a must stop in Lancaster. They serve breakfast and lunch and everything is scratch made including making their own bread. Their grilled cheese sandwich and chili is one of the best that I have had. Well done and I look forward to returning soon.

Stopped in for lunch from out of town. Nice, bright, comfortable cafe. They have good coffee, and delicious seasonal/local food - lots of fresh vegetable options.

I stop here at least once a week, for breakfast or lunch, really enjoy it. Proprietor's and staff are always friendly, the food is always great, healthful, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated.

The food is of a quality you rarely find outside of larger towns. The chefs care about the source, quality and value of the food they serve. I could list many examples of my favorite choices but I think its best summed up by my restored faith in the Ruben Sandwich. Before coming to Deweys I had stopped ordering the humble ruben because of my many experiences with bad corned beef, vinegary sauerkraut and bad sauce. You have to try it here! They make their own brisket and get this - ferment their own kraut for a great sandwich. I hope the locals will appreciate what a gem they have as much as we do. Love it!
