If you enjoy the smell of cat piss & terrible service, Thumbs Up is the place to be! You're much better off walking a few blocks down the street and seeing Lake Geneva's finest bartender by the name of Dirt over at Fat Cats!

We visited Thumbs Up on a girls weekend. We had so much fun, we stayed about three hours later then we planned. The drinks were good, and we had an absolute BLAST! We will make sure to come back next time we visit!

What the....what is this place? Looking to expand our horizons, we wandered over to this place one night, and mmmm, quickly wandered back out after one quick, bizarre round. It's a dive bar playing loud clubby oom-cha music with a weird clientele mix doused in Axe body spray or cheap perfume or just smelly.... Trashy as all get out (the bar itself, not necessarily the people) yet....I don't know. I was trying to find something nice to say. We're not dive bar averse in any way, we prefer them, but this.....we don't know what the heck this was. Our bartender was all sorts of tweaked out on extracurriculars, ignored us for a bit, momentarily tried to be friendly then decided she didn't like us. It was weird watching that all unfold. Several service industry people here, bitching and whining and complaining about their jobs and customers and lives. Yeah, a little unpleasant. Bathrooms are down a long staircase in the basement and creepy. What tipped our visit over the edge into freaky no thank you we are leaving now was some other tweaked out chick and her pals crawling all over the bar, spread eagle and butt in the air and um, yup. We left.

Nice to be able and drink at the bar without dealing with all the regular tourists and bachelor parties. It's a dive bar feel, so know that going in, but you can't beat the prices. The Bloody Mary is great! Way better than the overpriced ten dollar one at popeyes near the beach. You get the bloody with a 6 ounce side car for 6 bucks! Only draw back is they don't serve food...

Fun place. Good mix of locals and tourists. The band had everyone going. Drink prices were good. I'd recommend to anyone in Lake Geneva for the weekend.

Thumbs Up offers a dive-bar experience in an area full of touristy restaurants. It serves its purpose. Cocktails were cheap, the beer was good, and the music wasn't obnoxiously loud. Be aware, though: They don't accept credit cards. But for cash-strapped folks such as myself, they do have a friendly ATM with a friendly $2.50 surcharge. Party on.

I was in town last month and missed Mike who I haven't seen in 42 years...lol Then there's was Bill Baroney, and John Rewald, and, I couldn't find them either. Then there was old goody, piper, angie, shawn, nick a. and ann zingle.. and the venture over to popeye's was empty handed....I felt like I was in some time-warp....but had to venture back to San Diego with a surprise find here! This turned out to be a great visit as I met a cutie at Thumbs Up and now she's here with me in San Diego...and will permanently move here...hmmm The yaga bombers did us in though.... Definitely two thumbs down....bartender was an unbelievably rude bitch so we all downed our first drink and left. If the owner is as cool as the other reviewer stated, it certainly wasn't reflected in her attitude...we were really blown away by it wow.
