My husband and I have been going here for almost 9 years. It's a great, cheap place to get some quick hot soup, especially in the winter or if you're sick. I love the vegetable soup, the chicken noodle (and the one with dumplings) and the chicken and rice. The other food is decent, some times it's a hit and some times it's a miss. They recently expanded the inside which is good because it only had three tables. My husband likes getting the Gyro and I get whatever i'm in the mood for. You can also order quarts of soup which I love to do so I have some for later. The only one complaint I have is that the owner never seems to be happy. I mean it's not that she is mean but she never smiles. = (

I really wanted to like this place. So much so, that I went back twice just to give it a second chance. The food is terrible, especially the breakfast. Everything tasted like it was in the deep freeze for months. The eggs tasted stale. There a very few good diners left in the kenosha area now :(

We've tried eating here multiple times, but we will not be back. The soup is ok, but the sandwiches are terrible. It was worse than my middle school cafeteria. Our waitress seemed very nice and attentive, but the woman at the register criticized her continually and didn't tell her that the kitchen was out of (multiple) items before we had ordered them. I honestly don't know how this restaurant is still in business.

This is a small family restaurant. Do not expect Olive Garden here. You can find really healthy dishes as well as comfort foods only good for the mind. Nonetheless, you have options. They are simple and friendly. They are not expensive. The have pretty good hours and they are never busy. Visit three times and they will probably learn your name. It is a good place to relax while having a great soup, gyro, or steak.

Soup is very good. Everything else seems to be a hit or miss. Ordered gyros on several occasions and wasn't impressed. Received overlooked gyro meat a few times. Ordered the fish fry and Chicago style hotdog. Very disappointed with both. Received two mediocre sized fried Cod fillets. The meal entailed a dessert (cheese cake). They should substitute an extra fillet instead. The hotdog was EXTREMELY sad. Although it was a Vienna beef hotdog, they had piled Giardiniera peppers on the whole dog without draining the grease. This caused the over stuffed dog to split the bun, having the hotdog fall through. Should have taken pictures, but forgot.

Came in today to have lunch with some family. The place is small and located in a strip mall. The girl who took our order must have been new because she seemed a little nervous and awkward. She forgot to give us some things such as sweetener for tea and napkins. I ordered a veggie quesadilla and a cup of chicken noodle soup. The soup was pretty tasty, however the quesadilla was extremely greasy. I mean this thing was soaked with grease. I ended up eating most of it, but I definitely wouldn't get it again. When we asked for the bill we noticed that we were mistakenly charged for a bigger sandwich than what we ordered. It may have been because the menu is very confusing, there are different combinations of the same items for different prices. So that could have been something to do with it. All and all, the service was mediocre and the food was pretty much the same.

If you're gyrating for a gyro(yes, yeer-oh), then gyrate on over to the Soup Depot. It's a neat mom and pop sandwich shop! All the quintessential American comfort foods are here. A cheeseburger with fries? Sure, no problem. A grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. Yes, you can have that too. Soup Depot offers dine-in or carry out. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Meaning, there's no pilgrimage to this place from the masses, but those who do stop in will not be disappointed. The staff, usually manned by a friendly lady and a couple high school kids, are friendly and make Soup Depot inviting.

Well the place was very dirty when we went in. I ordered the chicken soup, figuring with the place being called soup depot it would be good, it was very plain. There was no flavor at all. Salt was my best friend to eat the soup. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone really... just not interested in it at all.

I was at the pig so I thought I would try the gyro that people are talking about. The gyro was good but I think pita express has the best gyro in town.

I never thought I'd see myself in here again...but there aren't many other options in its location. I got the gyro and WOW did the flavor surprise me. I'm glad I gave it this one other chance. I was expecting something from the freezer and that was popped in the microwave. Well maybe it was but it was still yummy. That is probably the only thing I would go back here for--so don't say I didn't tell you.

I sound like a broken record here, but you cant get these down south in St. Louis, so I thought it was fitting to have one the week before I left after my four year stint here in Kenosha. But the Gyro is tasty here. Vegetable soup is delicous as well and give me fries with it all and an iced tea off the fountain and I'm happy! Service is friendly, but theres only a place to sit for no more than "18 at a time." A little drafty by the door. Sadly resisted the pie. Will definitely come here when visiting the little bro who just began his adventures here on Lake Michigan...

Their gyros are to die for and the amount of food is unbelievable. Their Chicago dogs are great too.

I don't know why they call this the Soup Depot. Yes they have soup, but I didn't think that their selection was very large or anything. It is more like a fast food place and it is pretty good at that. They have some items you don't see at many fast food places, but as such, it can be slightly higher in price.

If you love soup you will certainly not leave here unhappy. Home-made goodness at it's best! My last review on Yelp was an update to a Polish buffet rest. I'd previously reviewed and jokingly stated that my next review was going to be for the fitness center I joined. Well...I did join one and one of the "benefits" is you show your membership card next door at the Soup Depot and you will receive a free bowl of soup with any sandwich purchase. Of course I just had to check out my freebie after working out and my choices were chicken noodle, split pea and vegetable. I was bad and chose the split pea and it was awesome. I have tasted their veggie and chicken and they are all equally delicious. Their gyro's are magnificent and the owner's are friendly and welcoming. They don't scrimp one bit; this is by no means a diet meal place. Their soup could easily be a meal in itself. Bon Apetit!
