Awesome as always. Fresh sushi and everything always tasty. Try the chocolate mochi, different!!! Love how you get orange slices at the end of the meal

Very tasty, fresh. We go here once or more per month. It's our "Cheers". Service is warm and welcoming. Hibachi. Sushi bar. Plenty of tables.
(5)Cayle P.
Love this place! Awesome sushi and rolls and always great service. My favorite menu item is the ton katsu dinner box. Soup, salad, gyoza, California roll, tempura veggies, rice and of course the ton katsu (pork cutlet) all for $20, can't be beat!
(4)Alison K.
I've only ever gotten take-out. But it is always great and the price is nice.

Food: 2 Decor: 3 Service: 2 I came here with two friends for dinner since we were up in Kenosha shopping. This was the second best place on Yelp, so we figured we'd give it a shot. 1. Hibachi chicken, 15 Subpar. Chicken was bland, and overall disappointing. Dish also wasn't very hot. 2. Unagi don, 14 Not bad. Unagi was decent, and this was probably the best dish out of the ones we had. 3. Spider roll Subpar. Crab wasn't very crispy, and there wasn't much in the rolls. One of the pieces just fell apart.
(2)John G.
For the price, quality, and service there is no better place remotely close to this place...Been coming here for years, never had a bad meal...I love sushi...
(5)Natalie N.
This restaurant is mediocre at best. I have been here several times. It's popularity is solely due to the fact that it's one of the few options in Kenosha for sushi and I believe the only option for hibachi. I will give it a couple of stars, because the place is clean, typically the service is nice, and the hibachi vegetables are decent. The sushi or hibachi here doesn't compare to places in Milwaukee or Chicago. Rolls aren't inventive and they typically fall apart. The hibachi is bland, and on one occasion I asked for golden shrimp and they burned it, lesson learned. Rice is greasy and under cooked on every one of my visits. The only time I return to honada is when I'm forced by a group outing with friends or family. Just because there isn't a restaurant to compare it to in Kenosha, doesn't make it good food.
(2)Andy B.
Great lunch specials! Never been very busy. Very friendly and polite staff. One of 2 Sushi places I know of in Kenosha. Japanese beer
(4)Tim K.
Everyone kept raving about the place, so I tried it! I didn't think it was that great, maybe for the area it's top notch, but Chicago has way better places. Chicken I had was bland and dry, service was ok, they weren't busy. We will try it again, and will report back.

the first time i came here, i tried the salmon teriyaki bento but wasn't impressed. their hibachi stuff was pretty good but their other entrees were kinda blah. the second time, i tried their sushi and maki rolls. ding, ding, ding! we've got a winner. their sushi and sashimi was fresh and oh so delicious. it melted in my mouth like butter. that's how good/fresh it was. also, they have the best citrus salad dressing i've ever tasted. mmmm.... i only give it 4 stars because the other food is so-so. it's not a well rounded japanese restaurant but the sushi definitely makes up for it.
(3)Tony F.
I'll keep this simple, as there's not much to say. This is the best sushi in the area. It just is. Their lunch specials are so generous, I'm not quite sure how they can stay open. They have the best ginger salad dressing of any sushi place I've ever been to. They have bento boxes that make Asian food easy and convenient for rookies or squeamish types, so going in a group is ideal here. I've never had the hibachi, but I'm sure it's fine. Check out the Green Bay Packer roll. It sounds stupid, but it's really great!
(5)Valerie J.
I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review about Honada considering how much I love it! For a city the size of Kenosha, it is sorely lacking in sushi options. Honada is farther out from the city center (between I-94 and Green Bay Road on Highway 50), but it's worth every penny of gas money! I'm pretty picky about my spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls and Honada's are phenomenal. Lunch specials are a great deal and are always fresh and flavorful. Honada even cured me of my dislike of sashimi! I really don't have anything bad to say about Honada. When I lived in Kenosha, the waiters knew me by name, which is either really cool or really embarrassing. I don't make it to Kenosha much anymore but, when I do, I make it a point to stop for lunch (or get take out) from Honada.
(5)Sonia B.
The food here is good. I had sushi from the lunch menu and the rest of my table ordered the hibachi lunch specials. Our hibachi chef did a wonderful job especially with the kids. He was very friendly and we appreciated how much he interacted with my nephews. We went here for lunch and walked in around 2:10pm and ordered well before 2:30pm. It was extremely disappointing to see that we were charged for the dinner rates on our bill just because we were leaving at 3:30pm. We have gone to several establishments who have honored their lunch special prices as long as the order was placed in time. We couldn't believe that they charged dinner prices for lunch sized portions.
(3)Robert S.
The food was OK, just OK but there was a staple in my wife's salad!! The sushi rice is made wrong ( no vinegar). The only redeeming quality of the place was the waitress was very nice, fast and friendly. I doubt we will ever go back, however.
(1)Liz E.
I had the clear soup, salad with ginger dressing, Hibachi Steak and fried rice with shrimp and veggies. Everything was cooked perfectly. Medium rare steak and crisp veggies. I wished I had ordered a roll too but had no room. It's a large serving so I have lunch as well for tomorrow. The staff is very friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere. I will be going back. Sushi rolls next time.
(4)Erica C.
We have been coming here for about 4 years now so this review is overdue. We have never had a bad meal here. My favorite is the rainbow rolls, but the salmon teriyaki is what hooked our kids. The ginger dressing is great. The wait staff is very friendly and nice. The restaurant is clean and spacious. There are 2 hibachi tables and a sushi bar where you can sit and watch them prepare your rolls. We have celebrated many occasions here and everyone leaves happy!
(5)Becky L.
Delicious sushi and hibachi dishes. Haven't been disappointed yet and have come here more times than I can count since in Kenosha for work.
(4)Ashley-nicole R.
I love this place!!! The best sushi in town and really great prices. The service is wonderful! I love the Hibachi bar!!!

Well, do yourself a favor, don't drink too much water, especially before you enter or order! I went there for a business dinner, our team had invited 20 attendees. Only 10 showed up on time. The owner was so flipped at this, that he tabled all the manners and pleasantries, billed us for 20 people (literally double billed, we didn't want a show in front of the attendees). Interestingly, I could not order the food until 2.5 hours after I entered this place, as I was involved in the business- discussions. In the end when I was going to restroom, the guy stopped in the middle and "asked me" (not requested) to order the food. When I said, I will order as soon as I come back (from the short restroom break). He insisted that I must order right away even before I go to restroom, I gently reminded him that I 'have to go' now. But he kept on insisting saying that, he needed to close the check and the restaurant is about to close as well. It was only 8:30p and there were still 8-10 people there. I was stunned at his relentless persistence. Needless to say, I chose the restroom over the restaurant food :-) I must say there restroom is the only nice place in there! If I need to go there again, I will not go to the restaurant, but the restroom! The guy is very very rude, hardly spoke English, flipped on us as less people showed up (10 less), billed us twice as much, forced me to order in the middle of the restaurant while I was excusing myself to go to restroom and didn't even apologize! Yes, I was dressed in suit and tie, never was impolite or rude. I have to thank the guy though, as this has been my favorite 'interesting' story. If one had to watch it on candid camera, one would have loved the looks on my face (as I had to relieve myself) and I was almost halfway bent from the middle requesting him to let me go. It was pretty hilarious. Well, do yourself a favor, don't drink too much water, especially before you enter or order! Good luck!
(1)Samantha J.
Placed an order for pick-up of Rainbow Rolls. The presentation was great, however, for just under $13, I would have expected a more generous serving. The rolls were very loose and fell apart despite my expertise in using chop sticks. They tasted good, but were room temperature at best. I only live 5mins away, so they were not sitting for but 10 minutes before consumption. Kind of a disappointment. I've had worse for sure, but have actually had much better, with a larger portion at Woodman's, which is pretty sad. This is my 3rd time ordering from Honada, and I think I've learned my lesson. I will go elsewhere for sushi from now on :( Sorry Honada, but you're just not cutting it for me.
(2)TropicalTan K.
Honada is a great place to get both Sushi & Hibachi style eats! The food can be a bit pricy so be sure to visit them and order during lunch as they have their meals at a discounted rate. It's quite the experience to have a cook prepare the meals in front of you. If you'd prefer to sit in a regular table ... they have that too!
(4)Karen D.
This tastefully decorated casual restaurant has a diverse menu that should please everybody. I've been to Honada twice - - exclusively for fresh sushi. The wait staff is excellent and very helpful in determining what dishes to order and share. I also like the added touches of providing warm o-shibori to clean hands and complementary orange slices to end the meal. My Japanese friend and I began with a sharing of seaweed and goma-ae (cold spinach) salads. We ordered a variety of maki and nigiri. Standouts were the A.A.C. (asparagus, avocado, cucumber), the Volcano (shrimp tempura, avocado and spicy crab), as well as the Spicy Tuna and Sweet Shrimp nigiri. The interesting thing about sushi is the variety and creativity. I've enjoyed it in a lot of places: NYC, Milwaukee, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco - and Laramie WY (see my review of Sushi Boat)! I think that the sushi chefs at Honada are right up there with the best in terms of creating their own specialty rolls and I can't wait to go again for good fresh interesting local sushi!
(4)John L.
Ok, but too expensive for what you get and if the katsu don, which was almost sickeningly sweet, is any indication of the cooked food stick to the sushi. Sadly there just isn't any competition to help the bar raise.
(3)David B.
Good place for lunch. Sushi is pretty darn good for these parts- it's Kenosha, WI. The 2 or 3 roll lunch special is hard to beat. Place fills up at lunch and dinner. It's worth a look.
(3)Sarah W.
I've experienced better, and I've definitely experienced worse. Unfortunately, on that spectrum, Honada is more on the "worse" end. The positives: - Lots of space. Offers both sushi and hibachi, which not every Japanese restaurant will do. - Family-friendly atmosphere. - Reasonable prices. - Decent selection of the more exotic sushi/sashimi a la carte items (i.e. sea urchi and sweet shrimp). - Bento boxes look like they came with variety. The negatives: - Fish definitely could be fresher. You know that slight discoloration that occurs in grocery store sushi that makes them look unappealing? Yeah, that. Taste corresponds too. - Rolls are on the small size. - Service wasn't the best (not sure if this is always the case or if we got unlucky). - Lack of flexibility (will expand on this later). I was meeting a friend who had a business trip in Kenosha for lunch. He indicated that Honada was one of only a handful of sushi places in Kenosha. In a situation like that, the quality definitely isn't too bad, but considering that Kenosha is an hour away from both Chicago and Milwaukee, it's really worth the extra drive to get decent sushi. One thing that I thought was rather idiotic was the stringent refusal to do substitutions. My friend got a tempura lunch bento, and being allergic to pork, he wanted to do vegetable gyoza instead of the normal gyoza. Despite vegetable gyoza being cheaper on the menu than normal gyoza, they wouldn't do the substitution. Furthermore, the waitress ignored that my friend would rather just not be served the gyoza at all, and his lunch was brought out with the pork gyozas. I wasn't thrilled with this. I wonder if they keep a supply of epi-pens on hand.

Lunch for 2 on a Saturday +One of the three sushi restaurants close to the Pleasant Prairie Outlet Mall (according to our GPS) +Clean dining room, hibachi dining room, and bathrooms +Menu has a lot of options +Lunch menu is competitively priced -Sushi wasn't that great (Well, whatdya expect from sushi in Wisconsin, right?) -Service was bare minimum (Waiter did not explain that there was a lunch special. I overheard it from another customer at a nearby table that they had lunch specials and located the information in the menu. Waiter could hardly speak English.) If you're craving sushi or hibachi after a shopping marathon, I guess you can come here. Otherwise, I'd look for better sushi restaurants.
(2)Kelly P.
2nd time here and it's pretty decent. It's not my favorite place where I'll want to go if I do crave for sushi again. But it's close by.
(3)Emily C.
This is a great place to come for lunch before you burn a lot of calories shopping at the Outlet Malls. Everything here is always very fresh and the sushi is very good for Kenosha, WI. We recently came and had a great lunch (rolls, sashimi, edamame) and everyone was very pleased with their meals. They have lunch specials Mon - Sat. 59/365
(4)Brett D.
Beat sushi in the area! Lunch specials are a great deal! Love the spicy crab roll and white tuna sushi
(5)Emily K.
Man, reviews for Honada are all over the place. My husband and I have been coming here off and on for several years. It is a clean restaurant, with polite and attentive wait staff. The sushi is good, but unremarkable. It's a nice place to have dinner, but don't expect the most amazing sushi dinner you've ever had in your life.
(4)Debbie R.
We absolutely LOVE Honada Sushi & Hibachi!!!!! The staff (we always ask for Jasper!) is great, food is fast and fresh. Love their Fantastic roll, Godzilla rolls and Salmon surprise! We also always get the spicy crab salad and order some extra Ginger salad dressing to go (yes you can buy it to go!!!) We are military and leaving soon :-( and wish we could take this restaurant with us. It's fair priced, fast, and fresh.......What more could you ask???
(5)Sarah B.
Meh. Sushi tastes good but isn't that great - kind of floppy and tiny spotchy rolls when we ordered them. Way overpriced. The only thing redeeming Honada for me is their hibachi fried rice. We got a side of it for $2 with our sushi which I thought was a terrific price and it was very very tasty. I would only go back for hibachi not for sushi and be willing to drop a pretty penny. At least it's nice to have something like this for a little variety in a monotonous spread that is Kenosha.

I have spent many a hangover at Honada (is anyone sensing a theme in my reviews?) and they were some good times. Oh, college. We would usually go in for the weekday lunch special- i think its $8.99 for 2 rolls, soup and salad. Curing a night of drinking with raw fish does not sound like the best idea but what can i say- it became a thursday afternoon staple for my girlfriends and I our senior year of college. The food is great. The miso is as flavorful as any miso you will find. I don't eat the salad because i am picky about lettuce but everyone else seems to enjoy it. The rolls are big and fresh. I usually keep it simple and go for a spicy tuna and maybe a salmon roll. I am a big fan of the rainbow roll, rock'n roll and the packer roll. The service is always something different here. Everyone is always very friendly and for the most part attentive but there has been a language barrier a few times. Once our waited kept calling the girl at the head of the table the CEO but maybe that was part of his sense of humor. I'm going back this weekend during homecoming and i'm very excited about it.
(4)Steve T.
Excellent sushi for Kenosha , try the unfiltered saki. The tempura is also excellent. Over all the place is good for kenosha, wi
(3)Robert V.
Had hibachi combination meal, fried rice was ehhh, lacking flavor, nothing I'd eat twice and everything else was ehhh too, not bad but certainly not amazing or good enough to go back to, tsu kasa blows this place out of the water
(2)Big C.
Excellent Food!! They always have very great service. Very socially awkward waitstaff, but who cares?
(4)Jennifer M.
I love the lunch specials. A generous full meal for under 10 bucks. Sushi is flavorful and hibachi is always entertaining. The free green tea is always appreciated.
(5)Dark P.
I believe I was one of their very first customers :) I remember driving by Honada and seeing their sign. My girlfriend and I went in and checked it out. They didn't need any advertising because word of mouth was giving them such good business (steve said) :) Staff is generally very polite and can speak decent English. Jason usually answers the phone and takes the orders. I've had a lot of sushi over the years and as far as Honada goes it's not the best place I've ever eaten. BUT considering how far you'd have to go for amazing sushi it's very well placed. I usually get the sashimi as the rolls take away from the real flavor of the fish. The hibachi grill is a lot of fun. Typical show off guys :) Good for the family. I can say there have been a couple of times that I've had problems and they've never once offered to comp me or give a refund of any kind. For as much money as I've paid there, they don't take care of their loyal customers. Steve once got furious when I wanted my money back for some foul smelling fish. This is how the Chinese do business. For Kenosha it's good. For sushi it's barely okay.
(2)Emily C.
Like all the other reviews stated... it's great for where we are. We've been doing the sushi scene in Chicago for several years, but have been finding it harder to get good sushi in the area without driving a far distance. We thought we'd give it a go, and it was good. It was empty at 7:45 on a Thursday night, but it was also the first snow of the year, and the roads were also empty. I had the A.A.C (Asparagus, Avacado & Crab) Roll, the Crab & Cucumber roll and the Scorpion King Special Roll (Crab Tempura, Avacado, Cuc. w/ King Crab and sauce on top). All were great. My husband had the sherashi (sp?) and was better than some of the ones he's had in Milwaukee, at a better price. Great find.
(4)Billy M.
Over time I have tried almost everything on the menu and it is all great. My "sushi friends" and I often discuss our favorite items and try to get each other to try this or that. The giant scallop, the Naruto (no rice) roll with eel, the white tuna and the spicy scallop hand roll are my favs. The Habachi side is fun to watch and also very good. Salmon fried rice..yum! If you're not sure you will like sushi, go for lunch, which is very reasonably priced and try a California roll. Crab and avocado rolled up with a bit of cucumber.. you can't go wrong.
(5)Juliet L.
I went here with my sister in law who wanted to treat me for my birthday... and we didn't feel like driving to Chicago, so we picked this place from yelp. My husband and I ordered Maki, and miso soup. I had plum wine and he a beer with dinner. We liked the food and service a lot! Great decor too. This was not the best sushi I have ever had, but it was very good. We will definitely be back.
(4)Rick K.
This place has some of the best sushi in the area and decent prices. Their service is also usually very good.
(4)Deborah A.
I have been to this restaurant several times but recently went for lunch and I was very disappointed with service and food. No free refills on drinks. limited selection of roll choices for lunch special.
(2)Christianna F.
This place was such a disappointment. I was really expecting at least decent service and food. The food itself was ok, nothing special. The server had no personality and didn't refill my water at all. They charged for refills yet conveniently didn't tell us about it until the bill came. I asked about it and was told that this had been their policy for ten years. Great, but that doesn't help me because I just moved here 2 months ago. Sorry I missed the drink refill charge inauguration. Very annoying.
(1)Michele A.
Love the sushi at Honada's. I live in Dallas, Texas & every time I come to town I always visit this restaurant. The fish is always fresh & the prices very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this great find in of all places Kenosha. Great service & friendly staff. If you've not already tried it you Must put it on your to do list.
(5)Travis Y.
As funny as it may sound, we compare other sushi places we dine at to Honada. We've found their sushi rolls to be some of the best out there and right in Kenosha. The portions and size of the rolls are on the bigger side, a nice plus. If you like spicey rolls try any of the offerings on the menu, you'll be happy. Their hibachi is a fun change of pace when eating out with other people. Friends typically suggest eating there when they come to visit after we've taken them for the first time. Again more then enough to satisfy even the heartiest eater's stomach. Oh and the pictures on the wall, various Polaroid "Kodak moments" from past groups for special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Alas Polaroid film is no more, so don't count on being added. Be sure to stop by if you are in town. The lunch specials are a great touch, a 3 roll lunch for around 10 bucks! Which includes soup and salad.
(4)Paul W.
The seagood Udon was really good, with plenty of seafood. Generous portion of noodles as well. It was topped with some of the best crab that I've had (but only two pieces of crab). My daughter loves the steak hibachi (kids under 12 meal about $12 bucks) and we both love the house ginger mustard salad dressing. Good roll deals for lunch, with miso and a house salad included.
(4)Kay T.
The food is decent. What's unfortunate about Honata is the service. I've been here for both takeout and dine-in (as have a lot of people I know) and the consensus is: from the minute you walk into Honata, you feel like the staff is annoyed with you and/or wants you to leave. Not a very friendly atmosphere. To give an example of their attentiveness: One time, our waitress was walking around refilling waters with a pitcher. Without saying anything or even looking at us, she grabbed our half-empty glasses of Sprite and filled them with ice water. She already seemed annoyed with us for some reason, so we dealt with the watered down Sprites, quickly finished our food and left. Now I go to Soon's for my sushi
(2)Brad B.
For sushi in Kenosha, WI - this doesn't suck. Sunday nights are not a big out in exurbia, so the place was sorta empty. The ambiance is pretty much created by the photos of randoms on the walls (who are these people and why do they merit a picture?) and the furniture - which is to say there isn't much in the way of ambiance. Fresh, yummy sushi, good staff - a lovely waiter tonight and overall a great dining experience in Ken-o-where, WI. I almost forgot! Some ass-hat was having his or her birthday and they played a very loud, very cheesy rendition of "Happy Birthday to You" over the audio system. That, we could have done without. I mean, seriously? I just wish it wasn't in a strip mall.
(4)Mike L.
I have only had the sushi so I can only comment on that. I found the sushi platter to be very good with a wide variety of fish and presented in an appetizing manner. The portion size was very large and one of the few times when I have had sushi that I actually felt full, usually I end up feeling comfortable. The service was nice and attentive without making it seem like someone was looking over my shoulder. The inside was very clean and arranged in a logical way. A worthy stop for food when in the Kensoha area.

Tonight I was in the mood for sushi or hibachi. Wasn't sure which but wanted to try this place since it's closer to home and less expensive then our usual sushi/hibachi place. It was only 5:30 on a Saturday so we were seated at a cook-top very quickly. As we were browsing the menu, suddenly a very distorted version of Happy Birthday can over the sound system. Very annoying! Anyway, the waiter came and took our drink orders quickly and returned with them just as quick. I ended up ordering a hibachi combo meal of a filet and shrimp and added two pieces of unagi (eel) to go with it. Hubby ordered the filet with scallops and our guest ordered the steak and salmon. All entrees came with soup, salad, and fried rice. The soup was mediocre and the dressing on the salad was not good IMO. The cook came out quickly and did his little utensil show. He cooked the rice which was very bland and a bit too garlicky. The "shrimp appetizer" was pathetic. It consisted of 2 pieces of hibachi shrimp which was cooked with my main shrimp entree. The steaks we all got were good even if he didn't ask us how we wanted it cooked until it was past that point. They were all medium-well rather than our preferred medium. Our guest's salmon was a very small and thin portion. The shrimp and scallops were good and the Unagi was delicious. All in all, we would not come back for hibachi but the sushi was good. The prices are good for the quality of the food. But, we would definitely pay more money for better food at our usual sushi/hibachi place.

Wonderful sushi in Kenosha? Kenosha, Wisconsin, the city of tattoos, taverns and pizza parlors? It doesn't seem possible, and yet here it is at Honada. Read my full blog post at: http:// blog.MarkCz.com//honada-…
(5)William T.
It might not be the best sushi or hibachi, but it is pretty good and represents new diversity for Kenosha. I have eaten here probably a half dozen times on both the sushi side and hibachi side of things. The only thing I dislike that I have had here is their onion soup (the soup that comes with hibachi, not miso). At other places I love this type of soup, but at Honada I skip it.
(4)Jeff M.
The Sushi rolls and Sashimi are great, I would not suggest the Hibachi unless you like your food chopped and cooked and rather flavorless. The staff does tend to eyeball you to see that you are not dishonoring their traditions. Overall though, a nice place to socialize and eat good food.
(3)Jessica D.
I was a bit skeptical of sushi in Wisconsin, but was pleasantly surprised with this little gem. The lunch deals are out of this world! I got a bento box with salmon teriyaki, salad, gyoza, california roll and rice for 7.99!!! J had the 3 sushi rolls also for like 7.99. Crazy cheap, very fresh fish and lovely presentation!
(4)Kris C.
what an awesome place!! the squid salad is a must try :) the owners and staff were really nice and friendly... we'll definitely be coming back for more :)
(5)Matt P.
Above average food and service. The option of sushi or hibachi is nice. Overall a decent restaurant that is family friendly.
(4)Darron G.
I was severly dissapointed, especially after reviewing all of the wondeful reviews. I was with a business partner in Kenosha and looked for restaurants in the area that had good Yelp reviews. We started with the steamed shrimp shumai and Chefs selection sushi. The shumai was obviously out of a box and the Sushi was ok. We ordered the lunch Hibachi and it was over cooked and very under seasoned. I will say however, that it was very inexpensive, so I wasn't totally dissapointed.
(1)Anonymous W.
Love love this place we go for the lunch special way cheaper then dinner. Wait staff speaks very broken English but I can handle that if I'm getting great food!!!!
(4)Brad E.
The sushi is consistently delicious. The sushi regular was among the best that I've ever had. It does not seem that there was a big variety of fish, but what they had was fresh and I even loved the tuna, which can sometimes take like iron. The tempura was very good. Try the lobster roll.
(4)Kevin S.
Its tough to justify a restaurant's food quality by location only. "This is Kenosha, what do you expect?" Godzilla Roll was underwhelming, Philly roll tasted like it came out of a package, Edamame was WAY OVERSALTED. Honada gets two stars because of a tasty shrimp tempura my friend ordered and a nice decor. Not rushing to go back anytime soon...
(2)Suzie W.
My friends and I have created a.... gang. A sushi gang, and it all revolves around Honada. During college I tried sushi for the first time here. After my first few times eating it, I was addicted. I began asking my friends at school if any of them like sushi. Even if they didn't like it, or if they never had had it I brought them here. Needless to say this is our favorite spot by far and I have converted LOTS of newbies and non-sushi lovers into Honada Lovers. The freshness of the rolls and great service make it a great experience. I come here once a week... at least. How can I beat it? For lunch it's hardly any more than a fast food joint. I get healthy food and soup, salad, and 2 rolls for $8. When I'm really fiending I get 3 rolls for $10. It's so cheap and filling and you don't feel sick or guilty after. Over the years I have had the majority of their rolls and dishes. Everything is great but it's hard to deviate from my regular and simple Spicy Crab and Salmon Avocado. When we go for dinner I get a few of the "fancy" rolls. The Volcano, Fantastic, and Godzilla roll are great. Whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed. Super easy to get to. About 1 mile East off of I-94 and Highway 50 in Kenosha.

Definitely not the BEST sushi place but definitely NO THE worst. I would probably rate the place an 7 out of 10 if the place were located in a place with higher income levels and diversity. BUT FOR KENOSHA this place is a perfect 10.! The Lunch menu is really affordable and nice, Hibachi is great for family, and the SUSHI is great. I consider myself an adventurous eater and will eat anything once, so to me sushi is a piece of cake. but yea IF you're into ethnic authentic foods, you MUST try this place.

I love this place. I go every time I get to Kenosha.

Yum! Been here a few times, always wonderful. One time we came with friends who wanted the hibachi experience. That's fun, but the best thing is the sushi! This is my third trip here for sushi I think, and by far the best. I had a sushi platter for dinner and enjoyed the white tuna so much, I had to order some more for dessert! Awesome. The service is fantastic and fast. The grill area must be popular for birthdays because there were 6 while we were there!

A 3 roll lunch special w/salad and Miso soup for $10.50, including tax? In. Food is consistently good - not amazing. The value IS amazing. Soups and hot entrees I've had are good. Pork Katsu, Udon, etc. Tried someone's Hibachi chicken and it was as mediocre as anywhere else I've had it. Carry out is quick and they've never screwed up my order. All items are printed out in plain English right on the receipt. 22 oz. bottles of Sapporo/Asahi are $6.50.

Very typical Japanese restaurant. There are two hibachi stations, a sushi bar and various tables scattered throughout. The service is pretty good if you get a server who speaks English more fluently. If you have specific food allergies or don't eat certain things communicating that might be a problem. The sushi is pretty darn good. The dinner food is good as well. It takes a little while to get the food prepared, but it is quite satisfactory. The serving amounts are not that big so you won't have any leftovers. If you are into vegan food, this place has a few options and is considerably better suited than other restaurants in the area.

Came here with my boyfriend...the people here were friendly, the sushi and the prices were great! Reg Rolls(6 pieces) were anywhere from 4.75 to around $10. Not bad!

Fell in love w/ this place the first time I ate here. I had only had sushi a handful of times before ordering a maki roll and sashimi sampler @ Honada. All of the fish that I consumed during my first visit to this wonderfull Japaneese restaurant helped confirm my belief that I really loved sushi. All of their dishes are prepared by excellent sushi chefs in the front/ middle of the dining room, or @ one of 2 hibachi. The non-sushi dishes are slightly better than average. When dining here, the focus should remain on the quality fillets of fishe they use for their sashimi, and the flavor combination used in their maki rolls. I could eat their spicy tuna roll once a week. Their dragon roll and Godzilla roll are two of the best specialty rolls on the menu. Most dinners come w/ miso soup and house salad. Great place to take clients, friends, and family. I even go there for my birthday!

Went here with my wife and her friend and it was really nice. Always heard good things about Honada. My wife had some udon I think it was, really great stuff. The sushi was really nice as well. Will go back again.

Went there for lunch this week and had a good overall experience. The standard salad was fine, but the seaweed salad was better. Good flavor. We split the fried squid, and then got some rolls. All were very good. I only wish the sushi was served cold and not warm. It's a texture thing.

Who would have thought you could get good sushi in Wisconsin? Not me! It's probably really only a four star place but I give five because it stands out in the cheese state.

This is my favorite spot to eat when I'm visiting the boyfriend. During some visits, I go twice a week! Their fish is incredibly fresh, even compared to what I'm used to on the east coast. We usually go for their lunch specials, which I find is a great deal, especially for sushi. I can't remember exactly, but I believe it was 2 rolls for $8, 3 for $10--and it comes with soup and salad. I absolutely love their chirashi. It comes with the typical pieces, salmon, tuna, shrimp, imitation crab meat, tamago, two other white fish (i think tilapia/red snapper), and white tuna--two pieces each for the most part. And since it's on top of a bed of rice, it's actually pretty filling. I prefer this over the sashimi deluxe, which comes without the rice (and it costs less). The only bad experience was when I showed up probably right when they opened...they served me a piece of half frozen white tuna. It was my first time eating it, and it is quite buttery/fishy, so on top of the frozen crunchiness, it definitely did not float my boat. It doesn't stop me going back for more though! I could use some chirashi right now...yum!

I have eaten here many times and the food is always good. My favorite is the Shrimp Tempura Roll and the Spider Roll. I usually get take out but I dined in with a friend and the service was excellent.

A second great sushi place in Kenosha! A bit shocking for me too.

While this isn't the greatest sushi restaurant I've ever been to it is an excellent choice if you find yourself in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I've had items from the hibachi grill and their sushi many times and both are fantastic. They offer a very reasonable lunch special of three rolls for $10 and two for $8 or $9. This comes with soup and salad. My only complaint is that you don't get the little sheet of paper at lunch where you can select which pieces of sushi, hand rolls, and rolls you would like. You're restricted to the roll lunch or the chef's choice. This is a very small complaint and overall I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who enjoys good sushi at a reasonable price.

Best sushi around hands down.

I'm not a sushi snob but this place is just OK. We tried several of their rolls and found them to not be very fresh and to have WAY too much sauce on them. You could barely taste the fish through all the mayo sauce. It kinda grossed me out. Service is very friendly and the restaurant is spacious. I would probably just take a trip to Chicago if the mood strikes me for some good Sushi!

My first shot at sushi was a California roll from Woodmans *blushing*. It was a good step in the door. When I felt brave enough to venture deeper into the sushi experience, I took the advice from several coworkers in Illinois and ventured into Honada, and I'm glad I did. I started off with the basic rolls several years ago and have now begun to swim in the sashimi pool on a regular basis. Great prices, swift service, amazing sushi rice and noticeably fresh fish.

If you're looking for sushi in Kenosha, and you've got an hour or so to spend, Honada's is a great choice! Prompt service and a regular presentation every visit makes this restaurant a sure-fire every visit.

This is the only Japanese cuisine in the Pleasant Praire/Kenosha area so every time we have cravings for sushi or sashimi, we dine in this place. Sushi is good, varied selection and choices. I have to remind ourselves though not to order steak anymore. It's rubbery and for the price of the Bento Box I could go to the neighboring Japanese cuisine in the Gurnee (Illinois) area, same price but GOOD quality. One comment that may seem trivial but it's important to note is they should avoid cleaning (& spraying chemicals) while there's dining customers in the next table. Smelling the spray while dining is a big factor in losing your appetite.

I've been happy whenever I come here. Is it the best sushi restaurant? Probably not, but I'm ok with that. Everything I've had tastes good & the lunch specials are priced right. The hibachi is a bit overpriced, but I understand you're paying for the show/atmosphere. Prices are pretty typical for sushi. This is far and away a better option than grocery store sushi if you get a craving.
