We eat at the Charcoal Grill fairly often, and I like the Black 'n' Bleu Burger and onion strings so well that I have never ordered anything else! Until our last visit, that is. My husband and I ordered fried calamari appetizer, which was quite greasy. Then we ordered a shareable Pizza with pepperoni, cheese and other stuff on it. Not bad, and a lot of cheese, but the crust was not very good. (For good crust, go to Burt's Place in Morton Grove, a Chicago suburb.). What bothered me most, though was the terrible service. There was one server on our side of the place (the non-bar side), and she was hopping. A double table of customers left as we were being seated, and the table wasn't cleared for 40 minutes, though there was a manager and two other servers on duty. Although I believe this was an anomaly, that manager should remember that standing around yakking to the servers by the bar really does not impress customers, especially if they've worked in food service themselves!

Best BBQ chicken pizza ever! Their rotisserie chicken is very good, as well as the waffle fries. I have never had a bad meal here.

Been here many times but lately the food is subpar. Ordered the classic white pizza and it does not taste like it use to. Onion strings had to be sent back cause they were not done. Was at the one in Burlington and even there the food was not to our liking. Kenosha location even stopped serving our raspberry tea. Might go back for the prime rib special, but considering taking this place off our places to go.

Disgusting. Go here if you don't know how to eat. Typical chain garbage.

Food was great. Had a Reuben burger that was something special. The wait staff was very very good. The prices are good and the whole experince is great.

I am not a big fan of chain restaurants but this one is pretty good. My daughter really enjoys this restaurant. On Mondays they have BOGO burgers. The burgers are pretty tasty usually but there have been a few times when they were definitely not that great. We love the homemade onion strings they offer.

Food and service were way below expectations. Water glass had garbage stuck to it. Chicken was over cooked and lacked flavor or seasoning. Would not go back again.

The food was very blah. The fried mushrooms just tasted like grease. Yes I know they are fried but they had no flavor! Our server was really great!! It was really dead on a Saturday night!! And now I know why. I could have cooked the same thing at home and had better results and not had to pay over $60. I'm giving a 2 because service was good.

Horrible food even worse service!!! Unless you like the overuse of liquid smoke..you are better off spending your money anywhere else!!!

Lunch today was great. Waitress took our order right away and the food was ready fast. Everything tasted great. Had the Smothered French Dip and it was excellent. Will definitely go here again.

This place is typically hit or miss. The service is usually good & friendly, but the food isn't always consistent. Burgers are pretty good & I love the homemade chips. Fixin's bar is ok, but I'd rather have the condiments on the table/plate. The Sunday brunch is decent with a lot of options. Ayce bacon, I mean c'mon who doesn't love that?!? I also like that they went away from plastic baskets & started using real plates. That's a big upgrade from the past. I've only strayed from ordering burgers a few times. Brisket dinner was a huge let down. The woodstone nachos with pulled pork was a success. I'd recommend you try it if you're a nacho or pulled pork fan.

So, I'm really dating myself if i say the last time I came here was probably 1997, but anyhow...its still really good. I had their weekend breakfast buffet. For 13.99 it came with all the trimmings, including the namesake rotissiere chicken and a make ur own omelette station. Some highlights were eggs Benedict, dessert table, biscuits and gravy and cinnamon rolls (omg, coulda eaten a whole plate of em.) Not so good was the fruit- it looked a little lackluster. They also didn't really have a salad or many veggies included, although the regular menu includes lots of interesting salads. My uncle had a burger that was ginormous (1lb) and looked really really good for maybe $7 or 8 bucks. They also had a sign posted- on Thursdays, u can get a quarter ($2.99) or half ($3.99) chicken w/mashed potatoes , coleslaw and a roll with a beverage purchase. That's a pretty good deal. So even tho the place was pretty packed for mothers day, the service was friendly, everything was well organized, and food was pretty fresh (esp for a buffet.) 15 yrs later, still a 4 star spot.

We arrived at 6:30 P.M. and we're seated 10 minuets later. The bar tender was also are waiter. Since he had a full bar the service was very slow. I ordered a prime rib and when it was delivered at 7:30 it was cold. However our host said this was a bad night and the 1st time it has happened to him. Next time we are in Kenosha, we will give them another chance.

Good place to grab a burger, watch the game. Burgers were solid, menu is pretty diverse and they have new glarus on top along with some other domestics. If you are from out of town and looking to snag a quick bite to eat I would recommend checking jet out.

The charcoal grill and rotisserie had good food, just poor service. We came in a very large group, but the restaurant was not full, and we also called ahead. The service was very slow and we ended up forming a line by the hostess stand to get checks. Our group consisted of hockey players and parents and we had a hockey game shortly after, so we were in a hurry. They took at least 15 minutes to get our check which made us late to the game. It also took at least 10 minutes for water. The food however, was good. I ordered the Inferno burger and it was very good. It consisted of a nicely cooked burger with pepper jack cheese and a chipotle mayo. We also ordered the beer battered cheese curds which were good also. They also have a place in there called the Fixin's bar. It just has burger toppings...making it very inconvenient because you have to get up instead of just ordering it on your burger. Overall, it was okay and I am not planning on coming back.

Why have I driven past this place so many times and not given it a try? One day we were in the area and the rotisserie smell drew us in. The feel of the restaurant is southern and a little country and western. There is a nice bar area and among the tables are a lot of booth seating. There were TVs showing sports and along the back wall was and open kitchen. I enjoy seeing the hustle and bustle of the kitchen, with the smoke and the noise of cooking. The place smelled like fresh barbecue and hickory smoke. When we walked through the door, my first impression was that we had picked the right place to eat. I had to try the half rotisserie chicken with slaw and garlic mashed potatoes. The food tastes very fresh and the flavors are bold and absolutely well balanced. I annoyingly made the mmhmm, yum, nummy noises all throughout the meal. I believe the people sitting within earshot didn't like my verbal praise of the food. I did not need to take leftovers, because I ate it all. The meal was completely satisfying, from the smoke, the smells, to the cling clang noise in the kitchen, to the perfectly cooked fresh food. Their kids menu actually has real food options, and the homemade kids pizza was served on a frisbee...how fun! They had a promo, if you get a $50 gift card, you get a $25 gift are. That's a pretty darn good deal.

Honestly... They used to be okay 3 years ago. But whenever I go to get chicken, it's really greasy. Whenever I go to get pizza, the crust is thin not because it's thin crust, but the pan crust did not cook properly. The cheese tastes really synthetic, and the pizza sauce tastes like it sat in tin foil for several days. There's probably a better place to go than here...

Great service and the best happy hour in town. From 3-6 pm daily. Daily specials. Arrived at 3:30 pm. It was pretty empty due to the early time. Choose a $5.00 appetizer (a dozen bacon and water chestnuts.) Yum. Then the Friday fish fry with Panko crumbs. Three big pieces of cod, waffle fries, marble bread and coleslaw. Piping hot. Took two pieces home along with fries and the bread. The price was $9.99 and very well worth it, The restaurant is very clean, very friendly and fast service. One of the best kept gems in the city. Give them a try.

Good food. We were looking for an outback steakhouse but couldn't find in the area. After searching for a restaurant and reading reviews, we were happy with the choice. We ordered a combo (sirloin and salmon) and a New York steak. They came in nice big pieces and in the right medium cook as requested. But we would like to see more veggies in stream broccoli or asparagus rather than plain cooked sweet potatoes.

usually I eat at a place a few times before writing a review, unless the experience was so bad I know i'll never be going back, but this is an exception. little worried at first about the service; the waitress came over right away for our order and we explained we had never been there before and needed another minute to look at the menu. we then sat for a very long time as she did some cleaning and talked to other employees. however, when she did come back and take our order, everything was fine from that point on. we ordered the beer battered mushrooms for an appetizer. $5.99 for a very large order and some of the mushrooms were huge! cooked perfectly and even my wife loved them because they weren't greasy when you bit into them. she ordered the French dip which she described as ok, nothing special, but i'm only bringing that up to balance out everything else i'm going to write! I had the "roadhouse" burger which comes with aged swiss cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, onion strings and garlic mayo on a toasted onion roll. I had them sub blue cheese for the swiss. I can say without any hesitation this was the best burger I have had anywhere! it's cooked over a wood fired grill, and you can seriously taste the smokiness of the wood, combined with the sharpness of the generous amount of blue cheese, it was like, oh my god, every bite was a religious experience to a burger lover! and they use real blue cheese too, not some crappy dressing. you also get a one-time trip to their "fixin's bar" where there is a small buffet of toppings. I thought my burger was perfect already, but nobody seemed to mind that I still piled up a good amount items on my plate to eat as a side dish! pickles, jalapenos, a delicious jalapeno relish, lettuce, tomato, onions, and other types of peppers and things, to be honest I've forgotten all that was available. they also grind their own black angus beef right there, fresh every day, and you can taste the quality. and the price is more than fair as well, mine was $9.49 with fries and the fixin's bar, which is an average price for a decent burger anywhere you go. the thing is, you pay an average price for a burger that is exceptional! and a fun thing they do is, the kids meals are served in upside-down Frisbees that the kids get to take home! anytime i'm in the Kenosha area, I know where i'm going to eat! please set up a location closer to Janesville!!

This place is great! My steak was wonderful and my boyfriend's heart attack on a plate burger/brat combo looked great. No complaints from me. I had a great time and they hand poured my long island iced tea. Nothing like a great drink and free souvenir cup!

We like the versatility of this place. They have a great blue burger, excellent ribs and the rotisserie chicken is top notch. The sides are wonderful too, sweet potatoes with bourbon, sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes or crunchy fries shaped like a #. We've never had bad food here and we've been coming here around 9 years. The wait staff is usually good and the place is clean. It can be really noisy sometimes with the TV's going and the bar is open, so that's a negative. Pricing is somewhat higher than we like to spend but the food is always great! We do take out here too and we get the same quality as when we dine in.
