This place was really nice. We sat outside and it was a beautiful night. The food was good. The avocado bruschetta was most excellent, I had their gyro which was good but not the best I've had. The Cajun potatoes have a bit of a kick to them. We were there on a Friday and our daughter got the all you can eat fish. She said it was good. She also had some cocoanut shrimp and it was really good. I am not a big fan of cocoanut but this tasted like fresh cocoanut and was really good. They had a nice selection of beers on draught, a really nice selection of Oktoberfest beers right now. The price was pretty decent, there was 7 of us which 2 were kids. (Who ate free on Friday). We had 6 adult drinks and 2 apps and our meals and the bill was approx. $110, which is not bad in my opinion.

One of our favorite places to go. The Guinness battered chicken wraps is really good, the gyro is another favorite. The burgers are huge, and where else can you go on a Monday night and get a basket of bacon on the bar instead of peanuts? Friendly service, prices are right, and there's a flavor of beer for everyone.

A-OK, not bad, not too good. The food: The guys loved the burgers. Fish fry and butterfly shrimp were mediocre. They DO have pretty good cajun fries though. Service: Good, but it was quite empty when we visited. Atmosphere: They had reality shows playing on the TV- which I REALLY did not like. The only thing that should ever be playing at a bar/ restaurant is sports. Going out to eat is a social event that should not be plagued by awful reality shows.

Well, I went there one afternoon this past fall and they were closed!!! It says they are open, but the doors are locked, won't be back...too bad a buddy liked this place!!!

The food is not freshly prepared, it's all pre-made and heated junk. Two stars simply because of the size of the venue and a couple of good beers.

We USED to love Bull and Bear. I can't tell you how many different groups of people my husband and I have brought there for a night out/dinner. Hands down, loved their all you can eat crab legs and ribs. Went there this last weekend, and were informed - no more crab legs. First - the waitress that told us (knows us as regulars for the crab legs) was very rude about it. "we were not making any money on it, so it is gone, forever." Ok fine. We decided to stay and order something else. Huge mistake. Out of the 4 of us, 2 of us ordered the ribs - horrible. They changed their sauce and it was almost burnt tasting. 2 others ordered fish - a plate full of rice and 3 tiny pieces of dry fish. Ordered the saganaki - it was over cooked, totally a waste. The waiter we ended up with was new - so he was rather slow and unsure of himself. Worst part - the WI game was playing. A group of 7 or so guys and 3 young kids - all in the dinning room area, screaming, clapping, high fiving - while we are trying to eat out meal. We get it - it is a bar, but there is a bar section. The waiter was feeling out pain with how obnoxious this group was being, bit no one said anything to them. Bottom line - will we be back? No....we drive 45 minutes to get there as it is. We will be finding a new place to take our friends, family and out of town guests to.

This is based off two visits, one as a part of a large group, one where I dined with my wife only at a regular table. The place looks so promising, and they deliver on the food! But this is a bar and restaurant, one that touts their craft beer selection, and you have to have competent folks to bring you your food and libations in a timely fashion, as well as to help you navigate through the menu. This is where they fall short. For the group dining experience, we had a waiter who looked like a high school dropout meth tweaker, tattoos and gauges. I have friends from all walks so this didn't bother me, just setting the scene as I know this might bother some (especially when entertaining for a group). He was ok, but did not check on us very often, and I ordered the "all you can eat" fish fry but was never asked if I wanted more, though I most likely would have abstained due to the length of time it took to: put our drink order in, get our drinks, put our food/appetizer orders in, get our entrees, order/get a 2nd round, get the check. A lad who looked 14 years old was the busser and water refiller and he was very courteous and attentive. The part that blew me away was the fact that they do not have a beer list or a drink list of any kind. When I asked for one I was told "the taps change so often they can't keep up". Most places with a similar approach combat this by printing out new paper menus every day, and sometimes a popular selection is gone; this is expected from craft beer fans. It wouldn't be the end of the world if our waiter was an expert in craft beer, but he didn't even qualify as a fan; when he asked "what do you like" my wife said she liked "dark and non-hoppy beers" he started recommending IPA's. Our only other option was to leave the group to walk up to the bar and squint at the taps, but then this doesn't tell us what bottles are in the fridge. I don't remember my selection but the one he offered up to me that I chose turned out to be gone so we had to go through the guessing game again. The food was good. Others have recommended the spinach artichoke dip and I concur, though the tortilla chips are overly salty (some people like them this way). The fish fry is cod, I would like some other selections but it's good for cod. They came with nicely crispy batter dipped fries. Since we enjoyed the food, my wife and I decided to give them another shot some time when not with a group and a different waitperson, and that time was last night. This time we got a middle-aged lady who was very courteous, though the service was still pretty slow for a place that wasn't packed to the gills. Today they were out of cheese curds when we ordered them, and she informed me that they didn't have the "normal fries" when I had commented I like them last time, but instead had a more typical fry today. Still no beer list, and when I said I liked craft beers she started listing off Guinness, Heineken, and other non-craft imports mostly. It astounds me at the lack of effort in this area, because speaking as a former waiter at a beer-oriented restaurant as well as a taproom employee at a craft brewery, it takes very little to convince even non-fans to try something new, and once you do, these folks are spending more money overall (and coming back again and again). Certainly, I only had one drink both times and I might have had 2 or 3 if I just had an idea of what was available. I can't help but wonder if this place is on its last legs, because in looking at some of the previous reviews, it seems they had an extensive selection of greek entrees at one point, and I counted 2 this time around. There used to be a microbrewery in the back of the same building too. The parking lot was not cleared of snow and was not very well-lit, and the bathroom is in dire need of renovations, so it just seems like a management group that is trying to squeeze the last bit of revenue out of something that was once great before they shut it down. This place could be GREAT if it was on "Bar Rescue". Probably won't be back.

I have been here several times to eat and the food is VERY inconsistent! The place seems very unorganized and poorly run. I believe your money is better spent elsewhere. Kenosha has many options... Choose one that will deliver on their promises because Bull and Bear doesn't.

Good food-homemade! Large portions and a great atmosphere. Nice change from chain restaraunts. If you like Greek food you should check them out on Thursday nights.

BRTB wrap and cajun fried potatoes. Done & done. This place is just solid all the way around. I need to get here on a Saturday for the all you can eat crab legs.

Interesting place, particularly from the perspective of a visiting Chicagoan. I wouldn't mind coming here regularly if I lived nearby. They have sort of a midscale-rustic vibe going on, but they also hammer the stock market theme. In the lobby, there are Bulls and Bears (the sports teams) as well as bulls and bears (both painted and stuffed); there are photographs of Wall Street signs from Manhattan and of old-timey stockbroker-types; and, curiously enough, the chalkboard which lists beers and weekly specials also displays the daily closing values for the Dow Jones, NASDAQ, and S&P 500. Do their customers really care about all that? I would come here for the craft beer list and pub- and Greek-heavy menu. Between the website and the server, I got the impression that they are very proud of their beer selection, and in fact I came here in search of Alaskan Brewing Company products. I was more than satisfied--the Alaskan White was the beer of the week, on special for THREE dollars per pint. How fortuitous. They also had the Amber and the Black IPA. The service was a little slow and somewhat aloof, bordering on dour; but we saw other servers yukking it up with tables of locals. Regulars? Eh, who knows. I really hate it when that happens, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The food was very good. We started with a Bull appetizer trio (you choose three from a list of six). The spinach and artichoke dip was excellent. Unlike most versions of this standard, here you can actually taste both the spinach and the artichoke (rather than just the latter), and the cheese is an accent, not the main ingredient. Big thumbs up. The hummus and fried calamari were just okay. The menu sported numerous delicious-sounding options, but since I wasn't very hungry, I ordered the fish sandwich. This thing came out with three large pieces of fried cod on a nine-inch french roll. I couldn't even close the bun around all that fish. I removed one piece, and it was still a very filling sandwich that I couldn't finish. I took almost half of it home. Their fries were the battered kind, which I have guiltily admit to loving, and their cole slaw was above average too. I sampled my wife's jerk chicken sandwich and liked that as well. All in all this was a really good meal for a great price. Saturday night they sell all-you-can-eat crab legs and/or barbecue ribs (mix and match!) for $23.99. Between that and the Alaskan beer on draft, that sounds like reason enough to take another road trip to Kenosha.

Had breakfast here today. Place was pretty much empty. Food was great and u get a lot. Price is unbeatable. Less than $4 for a good breakfast. Would recommend it.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon and found the food and service to be very good. They had 20 beers on tap and a good menu. The artichoke dip was made on site and is among the best you'll have. I have a full rack of ribs which were fall off the bone tender with a salad and sides for a reasonable price.

4 stars is conservative, I might give them 4.5. Not 5, we did have one mediocre experience with the fish fry and my wife's grilled salmon which she felt was greasy. But the sandwiches are always a home run. The steak sandwich has been like butter every time I've had it. I just tried their 1 lb double cheeseburger this weekend, it was outstanding. Normally huge burgers don't settle well and I'm sorry i got it (I know you think I'd learn) but theirs - no ill-effects at all. Everyone's food came out cooked as ordered, and the person with us who'd never been here raved about the burger. At least 4 stars for the food. Service can be a bit pokey even at slow times, but our last trip was just about perfect - Saturday afternoon lunch, college football on TVs within easy view, fast & flawless service from super personable waitress/bartender. I'm in Kenosha for one reason or another from time to time, and this is a top-of-the-list food spot.

Bull and Bear has a decent beer selection but that is about it. The food is sub par. The restaurant itself is never clean (the bathroom is really a travesty). One time last summer I went in and the place smelled like a sewer. I have met clients at this bar a few times in the late afternoon / early evening and the bar staff has been drunk. It is also the kind of place that no matter when you go, there is some loud drunk person at the bar. I live a few miles away and I won't go there again. I don't trust the cleanliness and the food is just not very good.

We went on a Saturday night around 5pm. Four adults and there were only two other tables seated when we arrived and put in our order. There is heavy Greek influence on the menu and they even do a Greek Night I think on Tuesdays. But we were there for the all you can eat crab legs - which I did not end up partaking in because I would have never eaten $24 in snow crab legs, although our friend she did a great job! I had the Spankinopita and it was delicious but they failed to tell us it would hold up the order. We sat there and watched as the whole dining room put in their orders and get thier meal and even leave. We just sat there, we ate some fried cheese curds and a spiniach/artichoke dip for apps and they were GREAT! The salads were small - but fresh. The food when it FINALLY came out was good - nothing spectacular. I wish the waitress would have told us that my order would have taken so long - I would have changed what I was getting!!! I hate when they don't tell you. We have a sneaky suspicion that our waitress totally forgot to put our order IN and then she had to back pedal when we kept asking for it. The bread was warm and delicious and we requested free dessert - which they had no problem giving us since we waited for eVer. The spankinopita was wayyyy too Feta cheesy. It was over the top salty - I would never order it again here - I like much more spinach in mine! It had more Feta than it had spinach. And the desserts were a nice size - not too big! The actual place was interesting too - you had to walk through the bar to get to the dining room. They also had a separate room for parties. The bar was really dark and dank - very old fashioned and the dining room was decorated simply with a few pictures depicting the Bull/Bear and had lots of windows - bringing in lots of light.

We are planning my son's baptism brunch, and were looking for a nice venue to host about 40 people. This afternoon, we had a food tasting with Nick at Bull & Bear. Nick was fantastic! He is very honest, knowledgeable and accommodating. Thanks to his recommendations and willingness to work within our budget, we were able put together a wonderful plated menu for our event, complete with appetizers, salads, pasta salad and 3 different entrees (Italian beef sandwiches, chicken alfredo and chicken souvlaki). Allowing our guests to order from custom menus is a very nice touch! Nick even included custom menus for children! We are very pleased with the food and service Bull & Bear provided us during our tasting and cannot wait until our actual event! We know everything will be perfect!

A great Greek owned establishment which features good drink specials and delicious food. From the Athenian Chicken to the Cheese curds you cant go wrong. Even breakfast is appealing with specials almost every day. Its nice to start the day with a well made Bloody Mary which is also often a special.

This restaurant used to be the only local brewery in the city of Kenosha. The food at Brewmasters was never terrible, but it was also nothing to write home about. The beer was mos def the best part about the place. I used to belong to the beer of the month club, so I was kind of sad to see it go, but all things must pass. The restaurant sat vacant for about 4-5 year. It has re-emerged as an everything restaurant. They seriously have to cater to about 5 different types of people, being in the location that they are in. Elderly, middle class/middle age, young couples, high school sports teams, and college kids. The south side of Kenosha is not known for having many bars, or at least good bars that attract a crowd after midnight. The new owners have done a great job of revamping the place without messing with the original interior too much. They added about 8-10 HDTV's that can be seen from almost every seat in the restaurant and bar. They added a game room/smoking area (where the brew used to made when it was Brewmasters), and they put out a menu that combines the owners Greek influelce, combined with everyday fare. Oh yeah, they also have about 2 dozen killer micro brews on tap, which is much needed if you plan on staying in business as a tavern these days. My wife and I have only eaten there for lunch. I had the Italian chicken breast sandwich, smothered in marinara and mozzarella. came with a side of cajun fries, which were quite different, but tasty. The wifey had a gyro and was pleases with her dish and the sides. I have heard mixed reviews from everyone that has eaten there. I will have to go have a full out dinner to give this place any more than 4 stars. But the good news is, this place is open for breakfast, from 5a.m., until bar time, 2a.m. WOW. I can't wait to have a hangover bloody with some steak and eggs when the time is right. So for right now, I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping people get on the band wagon, and that Bull & Bear keeps pumping out good food and good atmosphere. If this place survives, like a few other new places in town, Kenosha will be on the right track for new bars and restaurants.

I LOVE this place for the all-you-can-eat crab legs and ribs on Saturday nights. It's been a long time since there's been a place in the area with good crab and the ribs literally fall off the bone. Every single person my hubby and I have taken out to dinner here has become a fan. We've also tried the Greek night and that was a pleasant change because the cuisine was really authentic- not like the Americanized stuff you'll get in the local Greek-American family restaurants around town. The only thing I can say is that one in a while you may get a crab reorder that was slightly overdone, but if you just let your server know they go and exchange it for a fresh batch immediately. We haven't had a bad server yet. Definitely give this place a shot.

My husband, my parents and I went here for the Friday night fish fry. We waited a bit to be seated, got put at a table with a broken chair, and the waitress was out of her mind ditzy. We ordered (with no help from the waitress) and the food came pretty quick. It wasn't the best fish I've had, but it was still yummy. I realize that it's a Greek restaurant, but their fish fry was nothing to write home about. We will probably go back to try some of the other Greek foods (& maybe the all-you-can-eat bacon at the bar?) sometime soon.

I went here for breakfast. My waitress came back and told me they did not have the food and I would have order something else. The steak cubes in my meal tasted spoiled. I guess that's why they said the steak would not be on piece and not rare after I ordered. Just send me what ever so I can have breakfast. I will not be back. Breakfast is so simple and how you can't get it right is amazing.

It is now called Bull and Bear Eatery and Tavern. I had only eaten here once before when it was Brewmasters, close to 5 or 6 years ago. We recently ate here on a Thursday night, which is their "Greek Specials" night. First off, our waitstaff was unfamiliar with the Greek menu. We still decided to order from it however. The Saganaki flaming cheese app was the highlight of the meal. The meat/macaroni type lasagna I ordered was very bland and had been reheated it appeared in a microwave. The pork Souvlaki my dinning partner ordered consisted of only one small skewer which did not reflect the menu price in our opinions, but was satisfactory in taste. We waited an extremely long time for our main courses and were told it was due to "how long it took to cook the pork". We noticed that the table next to use had a long wait for their food as well. Long story short, I would not recommend this place for dining, possibly happy hour drinks, but that would be it.

What a HORRIBLE experience. Nobody to seat us. No big deal so we seated ourselves. The waitress said she would be back in a few moments. No problem. We ordered fish fry and stuffed peppers and a few drinks. The drinks took a while as the bar was backed up even though the joint wasn't that crowded on a Friday night. The soup she brought me (before the drinks, by the way) was luke warm. When she came back to get the salad and soup dishes she asked if I didn't like the soup. I said it had been served luke warm. She asked if I wanted it to be heated up and brought it back 10 minutes later. It was so hot that she commented on how hot the dish was. The food took forever. Several waitresses came by to say how patient we were and that the food would be brought out shortly. Several times they even told us how long it would be until our food was served. They were all wrong. The table next to us received their fish sandwich way before we received our fish fry, even though they sat down 20 minutes after us. The fish fry was adequate. The stuffed peppers were cold on the inside. And my side of loaded mashed potatoes was brought out after I was more than half way done with the fish and they were not served hot or even luke warm. Once again she asked if I wanted them heated up. We were there for around 1 1/2 hours for a simple meal and the place wasn't extremely busy. We eat out a lot but it was one of the worse meals we have ever had. The food was not served hot several times so I am not sure if it was the kitchen or the waitress. There was no manager or anybody else interested in our problem. I felt that with all of the mistakes, the problem really was with the entire restaurant. The waitress even explained about how bad a night she was having and that there shouldn't be a problem on Sunday at the brunch. I, for sure, won't be going back. It was, overall, a horrible meal.

OK beer selection. Artichoke dip was obviously fresh not frozen. Very good Greek salad dressing. Our souvlaki was cooked well but completely bland and was basically a plain kebab. Toasted ravioli were Ok but may have been frozen. Steak quesodilla was good.

the three of us started with the saganaki (flaming cheese) which was really good and gooey on a cold and dreary day. two of us had the gyro sandwich, and we both opted for the Cajun fried potatoes. the tzatziki sauce was unusual, and i would have like to have had a little more. have to say the spice from the Cajun potato's totally overwhelmed the gyro meat, and i would probably do it differently next time. my other friend had the chicken noodle soup and half a turkey sandwich. good, but unremarkable. waitstaff was very attentive. the bar area was dark and looked like a great place to spend an evening.

We went on a Friday night, We had in the past enjoyed the service and the food. This Friday was not the case. We both ordered one of their spectialities Pastitsio, I've brought friends and family there in the past for this dish. First they had no diet soda, unusual I thought, then no asparagas, then no vegetable medley, and when we finally got our order I have to think it had been prepared days earlier as it was both dry and tasteless. I was really disapointed, and will think twice about ever returning.

The food is here is just all right. It really could go up a notch in flavor. I eat here maybe twice a month as there are not a lot of other choices in restaurants for the area. The cream soups are VERY bland. The cream of asparagus soup clearly had the woody ends of the asparagus chopped up to make it while the spears are grilled up as a side dish. I believe they use their left over veggies to make the cream soups, and it shows. Tables are too close together. Large rooms are going empty and unused while people are crammed together in one large, very noisy room. It is even worse if you are seated in the bar area. If you get a baked potato, you have to use the little individual wrapped butter pats. That is a pain. The amount of sour cream that you get is very small. It is disappointing as a good potato with a steak can be wonderful. Don't be so skimpy. Not everyone likes cajun potato salad. Work on other side offerings and kick up the baked potato a bit. We had the all you can eat crab legs one Saturday night. The crab was good but you got just a very small amount of melted butter in a tiny plastic cup. Get rid of the tiny plastic cup and kick it up a notch. This restaurant is Ok, but there is room for improvement. They really could have a gold mine here but it is falling short. The owners are friendly and ask if everything was ok. I haven't been brave enough to say my real feelings though. The service is very attentive and friendly. The mixed drinks and the beers are very good. If you want an appetizer and a drink, it's very nice. I would like to try their Greek dining night on Thursdays.

I love authentic Greek food, so I was excited to see Bull and Bear Eatery and Tavern had a Greek night. I called in advance (4 PM) to ask what time Greek night started and was told right now. Upon arrival we were told we were too early. I told the waitress I had called and she returned with the menus and said many items were not yet ready and how she has never served the Greek menu so she knows nothing about it. I settled for a few appetizers (that were available) and the Pastitsio (meat/macaroni type lasagna). The Saginaki was great (although it was served by some guy in jeans and no apron) but just 4 pita wedges came with it. The other appetizer Skordalia was tasteless cold mashed potatoes without a hint of garlic. It was served with pita wedges that had apparently stuck together as there was transfer from other pieces of bread on all the wedges. The last appetizer, a Greek salad, was good. I ordered the lemon rice soup too but never got it. The Pastitsio was served with little potatoes and green beans which I imagine was supposed to be Fassolakia. All of the last 3 had little to no flavor and the Pastitsio was very dry and had too much cinnamon. I wrote to the restaurant on their website detailing my experience.. I see they removed the contact info now.
