I am no longer a server at Baker Street. My time there was short because I was homesick to be with my (then) baby boy. My opinion of this restaurant has not wavered- still quality food and reasonable prices.

Wow, who knew Kenosha would bash one business so badly?! I didn't think Baker Street was thaaat bad and for the area, especially when there aren't too many breakfast options around Green Bay Rd & Rte. 50 but chains like IHOP, Perkins & Burger King. Step inside to a fairly large restaurant with pleasant decor including fun valences over the windows made of ties. On Saturday and Sunday they offer a Breakfast Buffet that's $6.99 for adults, add $1.99 extra to also take advantage of the extensive salad bar. The buffet has an omelet and crepe station with a friendly cook, fruit arrayment, pastries options, and the average hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, pancakes, french toast and a few other things. Don't get too preoccupied over a wait. I was there on a Sunday morning with a group of 9 and we were sat right away. I believe its the church crowd to steer away from. Oh and for those smokers (I know you're out there still), there's a separate enclosed smoking area too. Baker Street is simply average. For decent breakfast, my recommendation is to head farther east into downtown Kenosha to the Coffee Pot, Daily Dose Cafe, Marina Garden, Andrea's Inc., or Jack's Cozy Cafe.

So I have lived most of my adult life in Milwaukee, but ktown was home for most of my childhood and teenage years. (Although i guess what they say about kenosha is true, as the birth certificate does read 'cook county')...anyhow....... I remember when baker street first opened right before i went away to college...and how new and cool it looked to me. It's still alright, but now I think of it as 'that place we go for family brunch.' We went specifically to Easter brunch this time. And I'm used to it being crowded - this time it was packed. Or reservation was for 1:00; I don't think we were seated until 1:45. They seem to ALWAYS have a buffet there, this time it seemed more fancy. For 10.99 you got the breakfast buffet with dessert table and omelette station. For 16.99 u got a whole additional area with things like ribs, prime rib, and shrimp. For 8.99, u got the soup and salad bar which was pretty large itself. I and most of our party did the breakfast buffet. Id say it was pretty good, with several types of eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and French toast. The dessert table is huge but usually a little underwhelming and disappointing. So its a pretty good choice for brunch if you like buffets, especially for the price. Dinner buffet is ok for the price too. I've never visited the bar here but apparently it gets a lively crowd.

Avoid this crappy place at all costs.

Service was slow for the breakfast buffet. Everyone ordered the buffet except for the kids. They probably should have gotten the buffet as well as it took fifteen minutes to make a chocolate chip pancake. We were all pretty much done by the time their food came. The room was full of smoke from the omelet bar, and the only recourse was the staff opening up a door to let in the 40 degree air from outside. We were ready to leave, and we ended up having to track down the hostess to get our check. She asked us how our meal was and we started to tell her about the poor service we had, and in the middle of a sentence, she decided to take a phone call, This was my first time here for the breakfast and will definitely be my last.

My husband and I ate here last week and got horrendous food poisoning. I've never been that sick in my life. My husband was in worse shape. Our server was friendly and prices were good, but clearly something is not right in that kitchen. My advice: whatever you do, don't eat the salmon burger.

Buffet does not mean put out leftovers and try to get customers to pay for fresh foods. Take it back to Research and Devolpment and find better buffet ideas.

My cousin had his rehersal dinner at Baker Restaurant. The food was decent! The drinks were okay! Not a bad place for a first time visit!

While many people go to Baker Street, even I have gone there a few times in the past. Something is different and its not the Service. The food quality seems to have taken a serious nose dive. I don't know what really happened different cooks, food suppliers, or what but I wouldn't recommend going to Baker Street over a Qdoba, or some place like that where you may not get waited on, but at least it will be consistent. The food is palatable in a pinch, but i'd rather say negative things than positive, at least the servers were nice.

I have recently given Baker Street another chance and my boyfriend and I were both pleased with our entrees. Our food was hot and tasted great. I have never tried the buffets or breakfast so I can only comment on the dinners and sandwiches though. It isn't my favorite place in town but I will be returning.

This place is a triple-edged sword for me: MORNING On one hand, I absolutely loathe their brunch and their breakfast food overall. Their sorry excuse for a brunch includes cold, slimy French toast and a table full of mini muffins, kringle, and other sweets. Their other brunch offerings are equally disappointing. EARLY EVENING The happy hour here isn't too bad. The attractive male bartender they have is very friendly and approachable. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have drink specials (or if they do, they are not well advertised), so going here for a few drinks after work isn't always a cheap endeavor. Their bar food (fried appetizers, etc.) is pretty good, though. LATE EVENING Karaoke and dancing here on weekends is a blast! The drinks are pretty weak and they could use some specials to get more people in the door. Overall, I feel this place is best experienced as a bar and not as a restaurant.

It hasn't been as good lately as it was a few years ago. Seems less clean and less friendly...we've been disappointed the last few visits and have not been there in a while because of that...

Worst food I've had in awhile The 2 other couples got their food and we're done before our meals came. The manager came over and explained that the fast cook had left for the day. My chicken Parmesan came straight from the microwave. They charged us full rate for something I couldn't even eat

I was not impressed. The food was not good quality, and the service was a little less than up to par. The food was greasy and over cooked. It was over priced, and there was little selection for a buffet. For my family of 5, which included: me, my sister (32), and her 3 kids (8,9,2) it was $53, for that price we could have went to a nicer place and got better food! We will not be returning.

Went there last night with my wife. We chose to have the buffet it was horrible. The barbecue pork ribs were setting in a pool of liquid, sure was not barbecue sauce. The turkey was something that looked like it was scraped from the bottom of a roasting pan. Our server never picked up our use plates. The cashier station was stacked high with what looked to be invoices. The salad bar was just a little bit better than okay the choice of salad dressings were lacking. Will not be going there again!!

Not sure what all the not so good reviews are about...we drive from Milwaukee to Kenosha JUST TO EAT HERE. Love the soup/salad bar. There is a lack of good salad bars in Milwaukee. Salads are fresh and change often. Had a fantastic baked potato salad that I loved. And best tuna salad around. Fresh baked bread. Fruit. Love it. Menu is large. Average fair. Buffet on weekends for dinner. Turkey, stuffing etc. Very good. Baked potato bar is a great idea. Full bar. Never had to wait for a table. Very friendly staff and we were always well taken care of. It's a family business, the owner is cashier and hostess...her daughter is wait staff. They make you feel welcome. Soups are great. Buffet well stocked and clean. Not sure where the person was looking, but I've never seen dust. Decorations are not why I go to a restaurant, so I don't care about the lack of theme. It's different and unusual....more unique than strange. Holiday decorations are fun. There's a full bar and an outside patio. Prices are average. Lots of parking. Is the food to die for? No, but there's a huge variety and the salad bar alone will keep us coming back. Good pizza and portions are perfect. Burgers, sandwiches -- I never had anything I didn't like. I only wish it were located in Milwaukee! There's just nice touches everywhere, that make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Bathrooms are always clean. Music from the 50-60's and not too loud. Bar is separate, so no noise from that. Try it when you're in the area. They seem to have a lot of regulars and that tells you something.

Not that I had high expectations, but this place was a real disappointment. While on vacation with the family, we were looking for a place to go that served a variety of food so that everyone would be satisfied. As we were driving down the road, we saw the Baker Street restaurant and decided to stop in. Keeping this review simple, here are the good and bad points: Good: Friendly staff. The woman who seated us was very pleasant and our waiter at least was nice as well (more on the waiter in the "bad" section) Bad: Whoever came up with the decor in this place I think was confused. There is no consistent theme. In the area we sat in, there were tree branches tied to the ceiling with lights on them. Wow.....not much thought went into that. In the section next to us, there was some sort of fabric hanging from the ceiling and draping down......weird. And throughout there was a hodgepodge of country and other miscellaneous items on the walls collecting dust. Dirty.....the place simply was not clean. All the stuff on the walls and around the building seemed to be collecting dust. Our table was sticky. Plates and silverware were a mix of clean and dirty. There seems to be a general lack of attention to keeping the place clean in general. Waiter......while nice as mentioned in the "good" section of this review, he acted as if he had just finished off about 2 pots of coffee and was running around like a mad man in a scattered state of business even though there were not a whole lot of customers and he didn't need to be rushing. When we came in, he was pushing the buffet pretty hard. As he gave us menus, he pretty much told us that anything we might want on the menu is on the buffet and we would be better off doing that so we could eat right away. Chicken, ribs, pasta, shrimp were all featured as well as a potato bar and soup/salad bar. We figured why not and went with the buffet which was a mistake. The primary complaint with the buffet was that they were not stocking it at all. It was pushed hard so we went with it but when we went to get a plate of food, there was no chicken, there was no shrimp and there were no potatoes at the potato bar. I mentioned it to the waiter and he told us to eat the ribs.....he would "try" to get some more food out to the bar soon. We did as he said, waited probably 30 minutes or so for more food to arrive, during which time 3 other tables of customers came in, each ordering buffet and each reporting back to the waiter that there was no food out. We finally left, not satisfied, and never seeing any additional food come out. It was rather pathetic. I have no real complaints with what food we did eat. The ribs seemed like they were a bit old, having been on the buffet for a while but I can't knock them for that as it was a buffet after all. The salad bar had a lot of selection which was nice, but was not kept up and generally dirty, needing a good wipe down and to be maintained. Very disappointing........ if this were a local restaurant for me, I would come back a month or two later to see if this was normal or if we just came in on an off night. Unfortunately I don't make it to the Kenosha very often and don't see myself returning to this restaurant again.
