Love this place. For starters we have the crab cakes made fresh in house. Next a 16 ounce porterhouse. The steak was cooked and seasoned properly. Excellent drinks strong and tasty. Damn just typing about it I think I might go back tonight. By the way seating outside has a beautiful view of eagle lake. Looking forward to spring to enjoy a meal outside.

Sadly, the reviews on service were true. Arrived, waited 15 mins for our drinks and finally gave up and left.

overpriced and left,me underwhelmed. don't waste your money on this wannabe fancy restaurant. we have ate there twice and left feeling ripped off each time.

BEWARE! Do not have a wedding here! I don't where to start... they put the wrong grooms name on the welcome board... ran out of food 2/3 the way through the tables.... late night pizza was an hour late. The owner was very disorganized and lacked communication. The only thing that was good was the food and the lake view!

Disappointing and way too slow service for an empty restaurant. We waited probably 10 minutes for drinks, easily 15 minutes for side salads. The menu is very limited, no burgers or sandwiches- all supper club menu. I split a very mediocre pizza with another- it wasn't much a step above frozen, seriously. Not worth the price

We were looking forward to this. Hungry! 5pm Saturday May 31. Not real busy, slow service, finally got a waitress, ordered calamari appiterizer, put the rest of the order in at the same time. Every table was suppose to get a loaf of bread. No bread. Calamari came out, it was so tough I likened it to rubber bands. Sent it back and stated I did not want a 2nd order, well I got one anyway. Same thing. Sent it back, and here comes our steaks. The table was a mess, also, the salad was so small it fit on a coffee cup saucer. More mess, still no bread, my husbands baked potato was not hot enough to soften the butter, the garlic mashed potatoes should have come with a spoon, that's how runny they were. Hey, here comes the bread, so hard we could not cut it with our steak knife. Steaks were good but again cool. I wonder if they just opened? We will not go back.

Service was horrible and the food was blah. No taste to it. Very inexperienced server. Never asked us how our meal was. We had to ask twice for silverware. Never came back to the table to check on us. The kicker was I had to ask for the check n when it came no pen to sign with. I complained to management asking for a comped meal n all I got was the drinks off to a total of $5. Will never return n suggest you stay away.

A friend and I drove out to Michael's for lunch today. Only 15 miles west of Racine and well worth the drive. Food was great and chatting with the two owners was very pleasant and interesting. One of them said he'd never put anything on the menu that he wouldn't want to eat seven days a week -- works for me! Onion soup was yummy -- a key criteria I use to evaluate a restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

The atmosphere to this place is great. We had a wonderful lunch on their deck and the lake was just beautiful. Food is great and the service was really wonderful too! We will be back soon.

Wow!! We were pleasantly surprised by Michaels on the Lake. Went for dinner last night. It was delicious. We ordered off the lunch menu. I had a grilled chicken breast sandwich on marble rye with sweet potato fries. By far the best sweet potatoe fries I've tried. My husband had a burger. Very tasty. View of the lake was gorgeous. Owner and server were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Great location on the lake and good food. New owners who are very nice. Great bar but too bad someone passed a stupid law about how late bars can stay open in the area and they can't stay open past 11pm. We would have stayed later. We will be back again!

We went for my birthday and it was wonderful!!!!! Prime rib was soooooo good. But will def get the larger one next time! Service was pretty decent! My wine glass was never empty, however I had to drink hubby's water because mine was empty!! That was a first for me, they usually give too much water! Can't wait to return and see sunset over the lake!

Really cute place with a peaceful view, great service (Laura) and a surprisingly delicious cheeseburger! We'll be back :-)

Lovely atmosphere. Prime rib dinner was good, baked potato was cold, asked for more bread was told that there would be an additional charge, service was fair.

They have 4 Octoberfest beers on tap! Enough said! Prime rib on Saturday is great. Huge French onion soup is super cheesy. Great view and sunsets at dusk

Flavorless food, go somewhere else. They also use frozen items that are not even prepared fresh there (the waitress told us this about one of our appetizers). For a restaurant that uses cloth napkins and is trying to give off a fancy vibe, this is just setting them up for failure. I typically give places a few tries before I rule them out completely, and since there aren't a lot of options out in this area, I have given them a couple tries, and have been a bit surprised that it has been bad each time. I am a foodie and prefer quality over quantity, and when I eat, it's not just to fill the empty hole/satisfy hunger. I want my calories to be worth every bite. They will ultimately end up going out of business unless they replace the chef. Guaranteed.

They do a lot of things right here. I'd say this place is like 3.8 stars. A little pricey. Great view. Good staff. I liked the pinot noir.

Who would have thought that we can enjoy an incredible dinner while watching the sun set over the water... in Wisconsin! In our continuing search for great dining in Southeast Wisconsin, serendipity brought my wife and me to our best find yet. We decided to head west from Racine to check out a chop house in Union Grove. When we got to the front door, we realized it probably wasn't what we were looking for. But we did see a road sign for the newly opened Michael's on the Lake. As we drove up, we were amazed by the setting. We found a brand new building literally right on the lake. We could have sat out on the patio, but instead opted for a table right next to the big windows overlooking the water. The beautiful cloudless dusk just made the perfect scene. Then the food came. My wife had the Caesar salad (authentically made with real anchovies) and I had the soup of the day, a hearty spicy southwest chicken. But the real star of our first course was the freshly baked rustic bread, a soft and delicious middle surrounded by perfect crust. Then my ribeye arrived. As a lifelong Chicagoan, I know my steaks. And I have to say that this was probably the best steak I've ever had in Wisconsin. The only one that has come close was the Chop House at the Milwaukee Hilton. [And by coincidence, we learned that the chef at Michael's used to work at the Hilton Chop House.] The rib-eye was juicy, flavorful and perfectly prepared. I prefer my ribeye medium, and this hit it perfectly. As we were enjoying our entrees, we noticed the couple next to us tearing into a huge slice of carrot cake. So we made sure leave room for dessert, and we were not disappointed. Again freshly made right there, my wife thought it was the best carrot cake she's ever had. Not sure about that, but I gotta admit it's up there if it isn't. We're so happy to find a great place to have an awesome romantic dinner in the Racine area. It's a bit off the beaten path, but we'll definitely be coming back... and recommending this to our friends. One tip: the steak came with sweet roasted garlic. I used it as a spread on the bread, and it was a perfect match.

We just had a great dinner at Michael's On the Lake. My steak was cooked perfectly medium rare (YAY!!), the green beans were fresh and delicious and the garlic mashed potatoes were soooo good!! And the warm bread is perfect. Prices were reasonable, but probably what you'd consider "more expensive" for the area. There didn't seem to be a lot of "in between" price items on the dinner menu. We will definitely eat here again.

Went with the whole family for Mother's Day brunch. It was very busy. We had to wait, but the food and the service were top notch for an event like Mother's Day! Great spread!!! Great Job!!! The owner Michael went around asking everyone how everything was, that's "class". It was the 1st time at Michaels for all of us. Just beautiful!!! I will rate again after I eat off the regular menu(s) Bar/Dinning. Worth the drive!!! Worth a try!!!

After seeing some reviews of this place on other sites, I decided to locate it down a small road on the edge of a large lake. Looking brand new with a separate banquet facility, we found the food to be excellent, the view just as good and the service just fine. This is a very nice place to stop at for lunch (and presumably dinner). I highly recommend it.
