Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I hadn't been to Olive Garden for at least 10 years, and I remembered really liking it. So I my first evening visiting my parents, we went out for dinner. We all ordered different things but none of us were impressed with the food. My chicken breast had fat, the pasta was too Al dente on my husband's, Mom's salad was dripping in dressing, and Dad's beef was tough. The breadsticks were so salty, and our soda was over syrupy. And it took nearly 2 hours for us all to have one course. We spent a fair bit of money for a meal that wasn't bad, but wasn't enjoyable, either. The service was attentive but slow.

I'd never visited an Olive Garden restaurant before, so this was my first experience with the brand at all. I have to say straight away that being from the UK, I'm used to rather dour service by waiting staff and the waiting staff here was extremely friendly compared to my usual standards! The entrées took a while to arrive, but in the meanwhile we had a massive bowl of salad served family style to the table. This wasn't something I'd seen served in this way before so I enjoyed the idea quite a bit. Also when my mother in law wanted a salad without dressing, they happily accommodated and brought a second bowl. So why only three stars? Two reasons - the length of time taken for the entrées, after all we had ordered four plates of pasta. This isn't my first Italian restaurant, and so I'm used to how long the main courses tend to take. Also, everything was pretty salty - not so bad as to send back (especially given the time taken already!) but it was at the upper end of my limit. So I'll give the service four stars, the food two stars and then average out in the middle.

This place is always consistant! The menus has changed but all the classics are still on the menu. The location seems to be on the newer side offering a clean atmosphear with a new look and feel. The food as well as the service was fantastic! Our server was great also had a full understanding of the menu as well as the specials being offered. Overall our time was well spent! Thank you for a great meal..... dave

We have been here several times over the past few years and always get good food and service. The only issue I have had is that the bartenders aren't always consistent with their special drinks. Approximately 80% of the time, they are excellent but once in a while they fall flat. I would love to get my hands on the recipe for their Long Island Lemoncello (sp).

I've ate here many times and I'm always pleased. The Service has always been excellent. The food comes out quick and cooked nicely. The salads are pretty basic, but still good. The bread sticks are fantastic and unlimited. The soups are also great. I love all of their pasta. Also, their desserts are amazing. There portions are usually too big. I almost always end up taking home left overs, which is ok with me. I mostly eat here because it's one of the better places in Janesville. Is it a chain restaurant? yes. So if you are looking for an up-scale, "authentic" Italian experience this is clearly not the place for you. .

Very average mass market Italian food targeted at the mainstream consumer. Fine if you feel like some chef-boy-ar-dee style chow heavy in tomato sauce or lots of salad drenched in Kraft Italian dressing. Don't get me wrong it's a decent enough place and I take my 78 year old father here whenever I'm in town for a visit but just know what to expect.

We recently stopped by this OG in the hopes of having a great meal for a special occasion. We were disappointed in the food and the atmosphere. The service was excellent though. The room was very warm. Something wrong with the air-conditioning service? The place also had a bad sort of musty aroma. Recent carpet cleaning perhaps? The entrees were smaller than I expected. The food was ok. Nothing terribly wrong but nothing terribly exciting and delicious either. In the past I have been "WOWED" by OG so my expectations were high. Our server was outstanding. Some of the best service I have received in a long time. We left her with a good tip which was entirely for her terrific service.

There aren't too many options in small town usa. I don't know what they sprinkle on their breadsticks to make them so addictive but I frequent this place for an unlimited helping of them. All you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks for under $10 can't be beat. And the service is fast. Only reason they don't get 4 stars is for the lack of free wifi.

Waiters and waitresses are always polite and always seem to find a way to get my family and I in at a reasonable time, even when busy. No complaints here.

If you like food nuked out of a plastic bag, this is your place. If you have a microwave at home... save your money and the trip. Olive Garden, Please leave Janesville, You're just awful.

is this authentic Italian food? I don't know, I've never been to Italy. but if that is your main complaint, think about this: even in Italy, is there only "one way" that every dish is made? I don't think so. think about it in terms americans will understand: if someone from a foreign country were to visit here and only ate hamburgers from McDonalds, the first time they ate a hamburger from almost anywhere else, the comment would be "that's not an authentic American hamburger." so, authentic or not, what matters is that it tastes good! never really had a meal here I didn't like, the service is always good, and the prices on most things are quite reasonable. clean, nice atmosphere and kid friendly. speaking of kids, the chicken fingers and pasta kids meal is a huge bargain. chicken strips, spaghetti with sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, a drink, and bread sticks for $5.50 is insane! one more thing about it, not every server will offer it, but even the kids meals come with soup or salad if you want it. huge amount of good food for a small amount of money. as a parent, I love that. and adults can eat cheap here as well; my favorite thing to get is the unlimited soup and salad for $6.95. personally, I think the chicken and gnocchi soup is delicious, and I love the salad as well.

As usual, the food here is awesome just like it is at any other Olive Garden. But I gave it three starts... why? Well, I would say that this Olive Garden is just like any other Olive Garden, but there's just something super important that makes this one different... The service. Never would I have expected this from an Olive Garden in bufu Wisconsin, but our waiter barely spoke a word of English. He made us feel a little uncomfortable the way he used broken English, repeated a lot of words very often, nodded his head with every word, and asked us over and over and over again if we wanted more soup. Don't get me wrong, I had the chicken and gnocchi soup and it was phenomenal, but I didn't want six bowls of it when my food was on the way. It also took him a very long time to finally bring breadsticks to our table (which is, like, the entire reason I go to Olive Garden). I could tell this gentleman was trying really hard and he kept a smile on his face the whole time, so I can't go any lower than 3 stars. However, the service was still somewhat of a letdown, especially compared to the other Olive Garden restaurants I've visited.

Delicious and great service!

If you like Olive Garden this is an Olive Garden. But this afternoon we went for lunch. We had the 2 for $12.95... it is limited in choices but the choices are good. The food was good. As always the salad is delicious. We also got an appetizer, the Shrimp Frittata. We got the spicy and it didn't disappoint. The shrimp was nice and crunchy and it was spicy! Very good though, we like spicy. The biggest reason this has 4 stars... French. He was our waiter. Excellent!!!!! Just enough attention that we were never at a loss for something but not hovering. He was friendly but I don't know his life history. He was polite and very sincere in his attention to his customers. Waiters should learn from him. For him, 5 stars! I also sent an email to Olive Garden praising his service.

We ate there last night and the salad was fine, my dinner was great except for the large flat noodles that stuck together like wall paper paste. I simply pushed them to the side and ate the seafood, veggies and sauce. Next tome I will ask for them to hold the pasta, since I didn't eat it anyway. Not a good thing for an Italian resteraunt that needs all the business it can attract.

Not really a fan of Olive Garden. They serve extremely fatty food, all the time.
(1)Joanne S.
The dinners at this Olive Garden are great, as always, BUT our last visit there was a disaster thanks to the in attentive server. She seemed to do everything opposite if the way the servers are trained to treat their guests. In my 64 years, I have never complained to the company for such poor service, but with all the errors I wrote my first complaint ever to corporate. They were kind and apologetic for what they felt was an isolated incident and said they would be contacting the local manager for some re-training of our server that was obviously needed. The manager did call and apologize for our last visit and said he would be talking with the server. He also said he would be sending a gift card to give them another try and to ask for him personally to make sure we had a good experience when we returned. We have not returned as we to date have not received the gift card to take him up on his offer. Now am wondering if that was all lip service with no follow through of his attempt to make things right ? We live just a few blocks from the restaurant, so mail delays shouldn't be a problem I would think. Just disappointed as this is not the service I have come to expect from Olive Garden.

Right off I-90 and a nice break from our road trips through Wisconsin. Great service every time and not a busy restaurant considering it's right there near the exit. Easy in and easy out, great for travelers. The salad and bread sticks are always great. One of my favorite entrees is the Shrimp Primavera, with whole wheat linguine instead of the penne pasta that is normally served with this dish. Also, unlimited refills of soup, salad and bread sticks. Check out their Garden Fare, low fat entrees, those are also tasty as well.
