Luke's is a great place for dependably very good fast-ish food. . Their chili is always delicious. And anything with turkey in it is worth trying. This may be a deli but the turkey is not deli-sliced turkey, it's real roasted-that-morning turkey. Their salad list is impressive. And they are surprisingly good. They have healthy filling options for wraps too like avocado and spinach. And gluten-free wraps. They also added hand-dipped ice cream not long ago. And they put up tables outside for alfresco dining. I like the way they think!

This was my first time there. I had the BLT and even though it's an easy sandwich to make, it was amazing. Hot, real bacon with nice cold lettuce and tomato... It was soooo good! I will sure be back there again!

My husband and I went here for our first time today. He had the gyro and I had the Italian beef. The gyro was full of meat, but that is about the only nice thing I can say about it. When you've had a real gyro, this doesn't compare. The Italian beef was good, they add giardiniera to it which was a nice surprise. The fries are thin, but tasty, as were the onion rings.

We love that the place is locally owned. They have unique items on the menu and their own flare. There's outdoor seating during the summer and a lunch bar inside. Good food!

I've been living in Janes-Vegas for about two years now and have heard people raving about this place. I finally decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is super friendly!

Good place to go for lunch. The turkey is a bit dry when you get a sandwich with mayo or ranch that seems to make it a bit better. Chinese Chicken wrap is always a good wrap to have. Good prices. They do have ice cream back to so that's good. The service is not the best but it isn't that bad. They just aren't chatty people and I prefer to be left alone when eating so it doesn't bother me. They do have fantastic soup and chili!!!

We went to Luke's just last week after passing it several times, each time my husband saying "they have great Yelp reviews". Let me say, we got there in the nick of time. We ordered and when we sat down to wait and the line was already about 12 people deep to the front door. Next time we will make sure to get there before 11:30 again. Good sign. I am always hunting for a good Gyro, so that is what I ordered. It was good. The meat was seasoned very well and had a feta cheese sauce instead of a cucumber sauce, but all in all, tasty and a large portion. My husband ordered the Turkey wrap, which was very good too. And you will not find this of their website or their facebook page. A gem only found on their to go menu. "We don't thin slice processed meats. We roast whole turkey's every day and shred them by hand to provide healthy wraps, sandwiches and homemade soups". Very few places take pride in roasting meat, so I would market this fact. The customers were happy, friendly and the environment was pleasant. Will be eating there again.

We stop at this exit a lot on road trips and used to always eat at Shakeys, which was awful, but nostalgic. When that closed we were stuck with fast food and mall parking lot chains, so we were psyched to find a well-reviewed independent local place. It's nothing fancy, but they had a good variety of sandwiches and fast-food kinda stuff, and the food was cheap and good. We'll be back for sure, the wraps were fantastic and we were in and out of there faster than mcdonald, with a much more satisfying homemade meal.

Very nice, local business. Good menu with variety. They have daily soup and custard specials. Cheap prices, newly remodeled. Yummy custard too!

I love Luke's. My mother and I eat here often. They have some of the best burgers and wraps I've ever had. They also have excellent malts and shakes. There french fries too are good and come in large portions. I've also had the onion rings. They were good but nothing special. My boyfriend has got the BLT amd says it's pretty good. I can tell the ingrediants are good quality amd they make everything fresh. Nothing I've gotten has ever been low quality. The portion and qualitiy is amazing for the price and the staff are very prompt and friendly. I highlly recommend.

We decided to try Luke's for the first time yesterday. I ordered their Gyro. It was generously sized with a lot of meat. However, the bread was a bit dry and it could have used more sauce. If they switched to red onions instead of diced onions I think it would have tasted better. (I shouldn't expect the perfect gyro at a deli though). My boyfriend liked the buffalo chicken wrap. I tried a bite of my sister's garlic turkey wrap and it was pretty good. We also ordered their cheese curds and none of us could understand the hype. They are no better than Culver's cheese curds. I guess I prefer the county fair style cheese curds. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere is slightly reminiscent of a classic diner. They offer many choices on the menu so I will more than likely return to try some other things.

The food is good, my favorite being the turkey and artichoke melt. However, they seem to struggle to keep the place clean. The men's bathroom often smells of urine, which may kill ruin your appetite.

This place is pretty good. I came here based off the Yelp results and not wanting to go to the typical Janesville Chain restaurants. Me and my fiance both enjoyed our sandwiches, I had the Italian beef which was good the peppers and cheese was a good addition. She got i believe the roasted turkey that she liked. the cheese curds are among the best I've had anywhere very good and fresh. I noticed a lady was eating a wrap that looked HUGE that is on my list to try next time im in the area. Looking forward to my next time in Janesville to eat here again.

Ordered the "Stump Burger". The burger was ok, but seemed like the cut up olives were sitting on the bun instead of being mixed in the meat. This made the bun kinda soggy. Went to get a lemonade and instead got water from the dispenser.

Luke's Deli is one of my favorite local places in Janesville to eat. Their sandwiches are great, and the casual atmosphere is good. They have a nice outdoor area to eat in as well. My favorite sandwich is the turkey artichoke melt. I have it almost every time I eat there, although I have tried other things. My husband is a big fan of their gyros. They frequently have $0.99 rootbeer floats in the summer. Yum!

Wow! I'm glad I did not have the Kool-Aid at Luke's! For starters the cashier had stains that looked weeks old on his T-Shirt! The place looked dirty as well. Now don't get me wrong. I don't mind a hole in the wall as long as it has good food. This is where Luke's Deli goes completely wrong. Maybe I tried them on a bad day. For a place that brags about roasting it's own turkey, what was served to me was dry and tasteless. Everyone else who had a lunch from there agreed that it just was not very good. I can give one positive though. The cookies were excellent! Hopefully it was just a turkey of a day at Luke's.

I was visiting from out of town, and loved this place so much that I ate here four times in two days. Had I discovered it earlier in my trip, I would've eaten there at least twice a day for two weeks! The fried cheese curds were initially what caught my attention - very tasty local delicacy, and Luke's does them to perfection. Then I started to notice all their wraps and sandwiches, all of which are unique and delicious. Anything that has the turkey will be great; they actually roast their own turkeys and shred the meat for the sandwiches and wraps. No deli sliced turkey here. I had the smokehouse turkey one day (heavenly), then the veggie wrap - with turkey (I wanted the veggies AND the protein! also delicious), then the Nicole Burger, which I swear to God was the best burger I have ever had in my entire life. Fries and onion rings are great too. Good thing I don't live in Janesville. I'd weigh 800 pounds because of this place! Service was great, too - they started to recognize me and we'd laugh and joke every time I came in. Nicely done, Luke's.

I love Luke's. They have the best fried cheese curds in Janesville!! Man they are delicious. The batter is just enough - not so hard your jaw gets tired chewing them (like some I've had at other places!!). And I like their pickles, which come with all their sandwiches. Fries are also really good here, but I basically never get them because I can't NOT get the cheese curds! Grilled cheese is good, my favorite is the chicken strips. I had a chicken wrap once, and I was not a big fan of the wrap/tortilla itself, but the rest was great. Also, I like their garlic potato soup!! Crazy delicious, warm and creamy. The only sad thing is that now it's just Luke's Deli - no more custard! Still definitely worth a try. Good value, great tasting food, and local!! And don't forget the cheese curds!!!

Stopped here on our road trip to Madison. They make their turkey sandwiches with in-house roasted turkey. The Italian turkey was okay - a little dry. The Philly turkey was better but not anything super special. We ordered a pint if Oreo custard to go. The custard was creamy and delicious, but the Oreo was sprinkled on top rather than mixed in (I prefer a mix-in). Still, not a bad place to stop in the land of chain restaurants. We were sad that the cheese curd place next door was closed. That would have rounded out my Wisconsin experience.

Stopped in for lunch last week and have no complaints. I'll be back :)

Luke's Deli is excellent. They have a massive menu of sandwiches that they actually cook to order! The staff works very hard. The seating can be a bit sparse in winter months its best to go at off times, especially avoid school lunch hour as it is a huge target for teeny boppers from the high school. Other than that the fries are excellent, I have never gotten a sandwich that was not made fresh for my order, and anything less than friendly service. Excellent.

Great alternative to the chain sub shops. Eclectic decor (you feel like someone turned their house into a diner) and a bunch of college kids in tye-dies running it. Something you're more likely to find in Madison than blue-collar Janesville. Luke's uses real roasted turkey for their sandwiches, not the processed, shaved crap you find at S**way. I had a turkey sandwich with cheese, mayo, and cranberry sauce (can't remember the name). Kind of like Thanksgiving in a sandwich. Delicious. My son had the Turkey Philly Sandwich, which he enjoyed. They try to create some originals too. While there on another stop, I had the ACT (Asparagus, Cheddar and Tomato served like a grilled cheese sandwich). Sounds bizarre but it was tasty. The custard is great. If you drive-by at night, it may look like the place is closed. There is an "OPEN" sign in the window but because of the lack of outside lighting, you would think nobody was there. The last couple of weeks, their rather small sign on a pole was even shut off (or broke) and you would swear they had closed and accidentally left the OPEN sign on. When I mentioned that the sign was turned off, they looked at me like I was from Mars. Oh well.

Tasty food and baked goods but not worth the insulting, impatient service you often have to suffer through to get it.

ate there today for the first time, my family and i are always looking for good local places to eat. i do not understand all the rave reviews about this place. first off, the service: it's the same as at any fast food place, a guy stands behind the counter and you tell him what you want. then, when the food is ready, someone yells out your order number. no big deal, the only problem is that nobody really seems to even pretend to be nice, friendly or courteous. but, my rating isn't based at all on that, it's based solely on the food and the prices. we ordered the turkey club, french dip, chicken tenders, fries, onion rings and fried cheese curds. the turkey club was the best part of the meal and even that was nothing special. nice sized, plenty of turkey. plenty of very, very dry turkey. it completely overshadowed everything else on the sandwich, i wasn't even sure there was bacon on it until i saw it hidden under piles of dried turkey. maybe the bacon was larger at first, but shrunk from all the turkey drying it out, not sure. the french dip was about as plain and bland as a french dip could possibly be made. again, overly dry meat with very little flavor. the fries, go to wal-mart and buy the cheapest off-brand frozen fries you can find. they might be better. the onion rings were not bad, but again, just a bland, straight-from-the freezer flavor and texture. the cheese curds that other reviewers are in love with? again, not bad, but nothing special. these are a little better than the ones from the wal-mart deli, worse than the ones from culvers. i guess if you've never had them before, these will be the best you've ever had! the biggest offender was the chicken strips. for $4.75 you get 4 small deep fried strips of chicken. that's all, nothing else come with them for this price. i'll get to why that's important in a minute. the quality was, again, not bad, but bland. my kids shared an order and they just picked at them, finally choking down one strip each before admitting they didn't like them. i tried a bite and thought they weren't terrible, but i say with complete sincerity that the new premium chicken tenders at burger king are significantly better than these. actually, they are better at every other place we've ever gotten them. now, why is $4.75 for just 4 small pieces of chicken something i needed to bring up? go to olive garden and order the chicken strip and pasta kids meal. it's $5.50. for .75 more you get bigger, better, fresher chicken strips, a good sized order of spaghetti with tomato sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, bread sticks, and a drink! luke, you should be ashamed of your deli.
