Food was good. Service was very fast. I think the price was fair for the portions provided.

This place has a lot of options unlike Fuji Sushi. These options are accompanied by lower prices than Fuji Sushi as well. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but we did have to go into it to pick up our order. The staff were very nice and tended to us even though they were swamped. We had a huge order, but they finished it very quickly. However, despite the speed, our sushi still looked and tastes great. We had 7 rolls and our bill came to be $40ish. I love how you can order online (like you would with pizza) and you can customize your sushi. I look forward to getting a chance to eating inside the restaurant next time!

Cute little place! Good food too! but cashier completely annoyed to be there it seemed and had an utter lack of friendliness. Hope it was just a fluke. I'll give it another go sometime soon.

Small..... outdated.......dirty........!!!! First impression! I would of walked out but the place was full so I decided to give it a go! Started out with a few rolls, the presentation was lacking and presented on small older plates! I askes for extra ginger and got a tiny pile of wilty looking old product. The fish was fresh and flaverful but the rice was well overcooked and not pleasing. I also has a few asorted Sushi pieces.... with the overcooked rice this was not so good. I had neen here many times a few years ago and it was good! Not so today! I would recomend driving a minut, to Ginza accross from the mall.

I have tried eating here a few times and it is good but thats about it. The quality suffers due to the speed they are expected to pull off. The prices aren't good but they are reasonable. I would take the lunch special from Fuji Sushi and Steakhouse over this any day for about the same price. Fuji gives you more fish and it tastes fresher than this place. The thing that ended my visits was overhearing one of the servers talking about how their whitefish is raw tilapia, a cheap and low quality fish. I dont honestly trust a place that serves tilapia in their speedy sushi to go.

"A strip mall sushi and hibachi place with five stars? Joe, what's wrong? Talk to me." H&S is the best sushi place in Rock County bar none. Prices are good, tasty selection and delicious sauce for the hibachi.

This is one of the better sushi places that I've been to. Although they don't have an à la carte option, they still have a good variety of choices. Their lunch specials are always a good choice, and value. And the owner is always updating the look of the place; it will never be the same old thing over and over. Keep in mind, this is a Midwestern sushi place and can't compare to one closer to the source of fish. Past that, this is a great place. And the owner is a great guy. If you've been there, you've already met him.

I can overlook kitschy decor if the food is well prepared but this place lacks in both areas. Service was pleasant and welcoming and I will give them credit for that. But as for food, we ordered seaweed salad and four rolls: spicy tuna, spicy crab, spicy shrimp, and a bay scallop roll. The bay scallop roll did not have any distinguishable scallop in it and was loaded with spicy mayo. The garnish was 80% of this roll and the dry rice was the remainder. There was so much sauce, the wrapper and its contents were not visible. We could not finish it - too gross. It was not just the overwhelming mayo flavor but something just tasted off. The spicy tuna roll tasted like canned tuna and was gray colored - not the typical pink color. This was the least fresh tuna I have ever had from a sushi restaurant. I have never been so turned off by such a simple and pleasant roll. Spicy shrimp roll was the best of our rolls and mediocre is the best review I can give it. This was the only roll we could finish. The spicy crab roll had white blobs on the top that tasted like marshmallows - again too much sauce, as well. I could not identify what the white blobs were but they were consistently over the entire roll. The sweet flavor was off putting. We would never come back here, despite the speed and lower prices. Simply not worth the stomach aches. Even at the most mediocre sushi joints I've tried all over the world, I have never been so displeased to get on yelp and write a review. If you enjoy sushi, give Fuji a try down the road. The price increase is well worth it.

If you want good sushi, fast, without any bells and whistles this is the place to go. They are friendly and the sushi tastes good.

I eat here often and enjoy it Their sushi is pretty good. Not amazing but more than fine. I really like the tuna rolls. I've also tried their Hibachi chicken. The chicken was a bit rubbery Though I very mich recommend theit Hibachi Shrimp. Its excellent. Over all I recommend coming here. The prices and service is good and the food is pleasing.

We eat here often, weekly sometimes. The sushi is really great for the price. Not the best I've had, but definitely the best in the Janesville area. The quality of Sushi is even better than Fuji Steakhouse just down the road and service is usually really fast and friendly. I recommend it!

Want good Japanese food in Janesville? Go here. This is an in-and-out sort of place. Place your order at the counter and pay; wait for them to bring it out to you. So, don't walk in expecting a hostess, server and the typical sit-down restaurant service. I have gotten all of my orders to-go. The salad, crab rangoons and sushi rolls all absolutely surpass Fuji Japanese Steakhouse (just down the street) in quality. The H&S food is much more delicious and enjoyable. While I wouldn't say that H&S is absolutely amazing, outta-this-world sushi, I think that they are the best in Janesville. I recommend this place!

Knocking a star off my previous review. Too long of a wait lately for "express" sushi.

Love! This place isn't fancy, but I really enjoy the sushi and hibachi. I love that they put sesame seeds on the outside of the california roll! The steak hibachi is awesome, though they seem to be more skimpy on the veggies and the yummy sauce that comes on the side than when they first opened. Overall, it's good, cheap Japanese and great for lunch or a quick dinner. My all-time favorite fried rice!

Not horrible. Not great. But then again, I live on a coastal city. Sushi is fresh and plentiful in California. I've always boasted about being brave enough to eat raw fish in landlocked states and lived to tell. H&S ain't all that bad. My seester and I ordered a couple of rolls and they sufficed (Spider, Philly, Rainbow & Spicy Tuna). There was mayo present but I shut that part of my brain off that recognizes this. They have your typical grilled teriyaki dishes as well. Found it odd that it's served with fried rice (saw it on other diners tables), but ehh, it's Janesville, WI! When in Rome...

I agree with Jen I. This sushi isn't the best, but for Janesville, WI it is pretty tasty. Their biggest problem is the fast food feel of the restaurant is a bit of a turnoff when looking to dine out, but it a-ok for carryout. Also, if anyone at the restaurant reads this, I vote for a little more rice vinegar in the rice. The fish seems to be much fresher here than Fuji, and the sushi menu is more interesting.

I actually liked this place a lot better than Fuji. Not AMAZING quality, but that's one thing you sacrifice for the cheap prices. My boyfriend loved all of the rolls we ordered, as did I. Being from California where fresh sushi is almost always available, this could be one of my favorite sushi restaurants. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is the weird way of ordering. They don't really have servers... which is weird to see in a sushi restaurant. You have to order at the counter and they will bring it out to you. Plus, the only "server" that was there was in gym shorts..? She also didn't have much knowledge in the sushi they served (didn't know what the heck I was saying when I asked if they had tamago/sweet egg omelet, which is understandable because it wasn't on their menu, but she also had a confused look when I asked about the tako/octopus, which was on their menu, lol). But, despite the lack in that category, it's a good place to go for cheap and tasty sushi.

Majorly better than Fuji. Which is not saying much to be perfectly honest. My scathing remarks about THAT place, still stands. H&S is a hole in the wall place, and it's more of a take out place, which isn't bad, but isn't great either. I agree the sushi could use more vinegar, but at least there is SOME in their rice unlike Fuji's nasty mess. The sushi was palatable, but not excellent either, but the best in Janesville so far. I would say the sushi is on par with what I can make at home, which is not to say too good, but neither too bad either. XD I tried the eel and the philly. The Cucumber salad was VERY odd. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really tsunemono, but rather some faux-asian-fusion thing made to look like sushi, but really isn't. Strange. But supposedly, they do delivery, which could be VERY convenient.
