I recently ate dinner here for the first time and I have zero complaints. To start off, the ambiance is very nice, and more upscale than most of the places in Janesville. The noise level is low, and great for holding conversation. Our waitress was prompt, and friendly during our meal as well. I ordered the stuffed whitefish, and parmesan crusted potatoes gratin, it was truly a delicious meal. The entree also came with a course of soup, which was cream of broccoli this evening, and a course of salad. All of their dressings are homemade, and amazing. Bread came with the meal too, along with homemade butters that were great. The people I was with also enjoyed their meals - The prime rib, and the cheese ravioli. Although it is more expensive than other places in town, it is 100% worth it. I would certainly recommend coming here for a lovely evening out, and special occasions. I will be coming here again.

Sinful honey butter. Started the meal when our waitress brought out some delicious honey butter as well as cheese spread along with rolls and crackers. We decided since it was Saturday night to order the prime rib. The prime rib we both had was absolutely delicious. Mine I always order rare and this was indeed rare and juicy. The waitress told us the chef tends to undercook meat. It was nice that she told us that because my boyfriend absolutely does not eat anything less than medium to medium well. Next after taking our order we were served a good sized bowl of French onion soup that has a lot of onions in it. The house salad came with a nice homemade French dressing. Along with the prime rib we had green beans Almondine and this incredible parmesan crusted au gratin potato. It was delicious but so rich I could not finish the potato. Not sure how they did it but it was like they molded hash browns and cheese and then roll them in Parmesan crumbs and baked it. Maybe if I hadn't eaten so many cheese and crackers at the start of the meal?! The only negative of the evening was that we both ordered brandy old fashioned sweet which were disappointing. I really shouldn't complain because the biggest complaint is that they were way too strong! We will definitely be back here for a nice meal again. The street out front was completely torn up and closed to traffic yet the place had a fairly good sized dinner crowd. I take that as a sign that people thought the food was worth the bother.

My husband and I had our valentine's dinner here. I want to start off with the staff. The staff were on their A-game tonight. Our server was attentive and friendly. Our first course was the soup of the night, crab bisque. I hated it. It was way too salty. My husband ate mine. He really enjoyed it. The second course was a pretty standard salad, but the salad dressings were "homemade". I couldn't tell the difference, but it was good nonetheless. My main course was the salmon. It came with green beans and potato gratin. The stand out food was the green beans. My salmon was a little on the dry side and the potatos were average, but tastey. I was not blown away in anyway. However, the food was filling and the prices were reasonable. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, but I am glad I got to experience it!

Frankie's Supper Club is a welcome addition to the otherwise culinary wasteland that is Janesville. It beats the chains near the interstate. The service is really very good. Everyone from the hostess to the manager or owner seemed very happy so see us. It's not a Supper Club in the way that Ishnala is in the Dells or Nightingale's is in Door County - but it is a decent dining option for Janesville. The drinks were serviceable - a Wiskey Old Fashioned and some electric green martini that dining companion ordered... I think it was called a Sammy Davis. Warm rolls and composed butter arrived with the drinks. One butter was whipped with honey. The other a sort of garlic cheese combo. The rolls seemed store bought - but we're a nice touch. We ordered the chateaubriand for two. It wasn't one big portion, rather two complete dinners. This was fine... The meal started out with a crab bisque. This was early made with mock crab. my feeling about mock or fake crab is - just make shrimp bisque. Mock Crab doesn't taste at all like crab... It's just sort of briney. So the soup was OK but only because it was included in the meal. The salad was sort of sad. Classic iceberg deal sort of thrown on the plate. If the salad isn't going to be appealing, I'd rather do without. The chateaubriand was good. We both ordered it medium rare and it arrived that way. I had mine with a baked potato, companion had her's with a twice baked. It came with twice a green beans. chateaubriand is simply a roasted and sliced tenderloin. The orders came with two nice slices with a pan sauce over the top. I would have preferred the pan sauce on the side as I found it a bit salty. Overall, I think this was my best dining experience to date in Janesville. My dining companion really enjoyed her meal... It's worth a try...

That just happened in your mouth! This was the running theme of the night as my husband and I had dinner there the other night. The food was delicious and top notch for the price. You can tell the chef takes pride in his craft. I had the chicken special and the hubby had the fish fry. We both left stuffed and wishing we could take the bartender to every restaurant with us because his drinks were top notch. The waitress we had was a sweetheart too. The chicken soup was a pleasure and the salad with homemade dressing was fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere vaguely reminds me of a speakeasy with black tablecloths and exposed brick walls. It was a quiet and intimate atmosphere where you could talk across the table and not overhear the conversations at the surrounding tables. I'm only hoping that others don't find out about this place....only because I want to make sure that I get a table every time I go.

Went there for my birthday, the staff is excellent, the ambience is amazing and the drink selection though choices are limited are so well done it does not even matter! If you enjoy old fashions you better get there soon. The menu is ever changing and amazing! The food is so good that you will feel for the price you are paying that you are cheating them out of money! This place is AMAZINGLY GOOD!!! you are making a mistake if you don't at least go there once and try it!

Last night we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Frankie's. The atmosphere is very nice with a supper club type feel. The staff was very pleasant and friendly- especially or bartender Dale. Our dinner started with some rolls with a yummy honey butter and a cheese spread. They have a menu that doesn't change along with an impressive variety of daily specials. All meals come with the soup of the day, a salad, vegetable of the day and choice of potato. We were very satisfied with the amount of food for the price. My husband ordered the prime rib which was cooked perfectly and the Au gratin potatoes - delicious! I ordered the cranberry stuffed pork tenderloin and twice baked potato-also very good. Overall we were very pleased with our experience. We will definitely go back!

We've gone 3 times so far and it is the best food in town. They have specials that change every day which is great to never get bored. Every meal comes with a bread basket, soup, salad, veggie and choice of potato. So much food!! And it's all delicious! Dale is a fun bartender too! HIGHLY recommend!

We found Frankie's on Yelp. I was very disappointed. The waitress was not friendly at all. I ordered the Chateaubriand with twice baked potatoes. I declined the soup and just had the salad, which was nothing more than bagged salad with a few tomatoes and onion added. My Chateaubriand was served cold! It was a straggly piece of meat and gristle with cold gravy on top. I wish I would have taken a picture to post. Nothing like the picture in another yelp review. Over salted and almost inedible. To make matters worse, at the end of the meal another waitress came over and asked if we liked to order, then said "Oh, they sent me to the wrong table!" It was clear that they wanted us to leave so they could turn the table. it's too bad, the atmosphere was pleasant, but the food was very disappointing.
