Famous Dave's is good, but it's not great. Of course, I have a somewhat biased opinion because I live in one of the great cattle states and I like the BBQ joints down here better. For a BBQ restaurant, it seems a little fancy. In my opinion, the only things green that should be offered are green beans and slaw and this place offers a variety of salads. Not to mention, they have appetizers like nachos and soups. If you need to pair your BBQ with an appetizer, you weren't hungry enough for BBQ to begin with. I like the concept they stuck to with their pork ribs. The flavor of the Rich n Sassy sauce is really good, too. It's not too sweet, not too tangy, and not too spicy. They offer loads of choices on the meat: pork, fish, sausage, chicken, and beef. The fish was okay... I would go for the salmon over the cod. I had a chopped brisket sandwich, baked potato and green beans. I was satisfied, but sadly, not impressed. I would surely go back, and if the business comes to Dallas (which I doubt) I will try it again.

Famous Dave's is becoming a regular stop for me when I'm passing through. Have always got decent service. Food is consistent and what I expected, no surprises. I leave feeling like a valued customer.

Really enjoyed lunch! There were only two reviews on yelp so I was thinking it would be a hole in the wall. Surprised I was to find it is not. Tastefully decorated in a relaxing environment. Service was awesome. Super friendly & attentive. I had the pulled pork (don't remember what they called it) with sweet potato, fries, & beans. I had them sub out the cornbread & corn for the sweet potato. Yummy! The serving size is large at good prices. On the table there are a variety of sauces to choose from. Husband had the brisket & thought it was ok & said he would rate it 3 stars but it is my review, so 4 stars is what they get. I would return if I lived closer but Seattle is too far to come.

This place was GREAT! We went on father's day, it was SUPER crowded! The customer service was fantastic! Our server (Liliana) attentive and very nice. (For me customer service can make or break a place. ) Our party of 11 started our meal out with the nachos, burnt tips , and onion straws. The nachos were awesome! Burnt tip were very good not leathery as I'd imagined they'd be. The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone! Sadly they ran out of the baked beans. But the others sides were Fantastic. I got the potatoe salad and green beans. The corn muffins here are the best I've ever had. I want to note, I've also been to the Famous Dave's in Algonquin Illinois too...and that was just the opposite experience.

Famous Dave's has consistently good food. We always get the feast for two which is way more food than the two of can eat. We love that because the left overs lasts us for days. The ribs have a little more stick to the bone than I prefer but they are still delicious. The beans and the slaw are very good and the corn muffins, very moist! Wonderful selection of sauces that make everyone happy.

Having just spent two years in Central Texas, we have experienced some excellent BBQ. The ratings on Yelp were high, so we decided to order from Famous Dave's BBQ for lunch. We ordered the Feast for Two, which included corn, bbq beans, coleslaw, baby back ribs, chicken and brisket. The bbq beans are absolutely fantastic. Great blend of sweet, spicy and packed with pieces of bbq pork. They would make a meal in themselves. The chicken was roasted and moist, very good. The baby backs were dry and tough. Maybe that is why they also have "burnt ends" on their menu. The corn wasn't fresh, but frozen, but it isn't in season so I guess that should be expected. The mashed potatoes were over processed and gluey. We will try it again, but maybe next time eat at the restaurant, and get some suggestions for the server.

I have eaten at Janesville's Famous Dave's several times, and have always had both excellent service and an amazing meal. I believe that on the first Tuesday of every month, they offer $10 off the Two-Person Feast, a terrific sampler of their best barbeque and sides. I have never been disappointed, and always went home with plenty of delicious left-overs!!

I love Famous Dave's, but don't get to enjoy it as often as I'd like. On my way to northern WI, I stopped overnight in Janesville and to my delight, Dave's is about 3 blocks from my motel! I wasn't really hungry, so got a kid's meal of a pulled pork sandwich and beans...delicious. The crew at the takeout counter were friendly and fast. Stop by if you need a BBQ fix.

This is probably my all-around favorite restaurant in Janesville. Pretty much everything here is awesome. You get gigantic portions that will provide you with two or three meals at home. I love the lunch combos: for under $10 you can still get two types of meat plus a side and a muffin. I almost always order some type of combo here or one of their gigantic feasts, because I just like everything so much.

We ate here twice this past month. Awesome. The portions were exceptional and the food was deeeeelicious. Ate it all. Love their food. They need more room as it is a bit crowded. I would have liked a bigger table. The bar out front is small too. If they expanded this place and made it more hospitable it woudl go 5 stars for me.

If you're in the mood for BBQ this is the place for you. Awesome ribs and combo platters. We get the big one with the ribs, chicken, fries, beans and cornbread muffins. Enough to feed an army but it's so good you can't stop eating. There are like 4 or 6 different BBQ sauces on the table so you can experiment. We've never had a bad meal in 20 visits. Also the one in the Dells is just as good. Enjoy.

Rolled in here late on a Saturday and had some awesome BBQ. Catfish fingers and burnt ends (BBQ rib) were spectacular. Huge portions, great value, even had a few drinks. Will be back for sure. Beats all these other chain options in the area.
