We have ordered twice from China House in Beloit and been quite satisfied. Their egg rolls are outstanding. I only order vegetable dishes from Chinese restaurants (I have had some unpleasant experiences with poor quality meat at some other places). The vegetable lo mein was great. My wife chose the beef and pea pods and and enjoyed it as well. Considering it was delivered fast and hot, we thought the price was reasonable.

So on a whim, I bought China house Chinese food for the family tonight. I was going in expecting to pay around $20.00. It cost over $29.00. I did get a lot of Chinese food. Sweet & sour pork platter* Sesame chicken platter* Small chicken fried rice Crab rangoons (6) Fried dumpings (8) * = platters add pork fried rice and a pork egg roll. I asked if I can substitute na shrimp egg roll for the pork one and the clerk told me it would be a additional charge. I chose to pass on the shrimp. I just ate and the food was hot and delicious. I wonder if the meal was worth the almost $30.00. I can't decide. I like the taste but wish the prices were $15% more affordable. My wife and I agreed that the rangoon didn't have much crab flavor, but the dumplings were quite tasty. My wife said "these are the best dumplings I have ever had. I guess I should report that I took the order to go. I did notice that the floor was dingy and it looked like a good cleaning would of helped. But I was eating non the floor so it didn't bother me too much. Would I use China house again. Sure, I just think I would go during lunchtime when they have more affordable lunch specials.

Not impressed at all...we ordered three combo entrees: Beef With Broccoli, Chicken With Broccoli, and General Tso's Chicken. These came with one egg roll each, plus fried rice. We also ordered a small Vegetable Lo Mein and an order of Crab Rangoon. Everything was ready and hot when I picked it up, but the food was all very bland, even the General Tso's (which is supposed to be spicy). The General Tso's was so over-fried that all the pieces were tough, dry, and stringy. Everything was extremely oily and tasted like the frying oil needed to be replaced. No flavor at all to the other dishes; dousing them in soy sauce masked this but did nothing to improve them. All the broccoli was overcooked to soggy limpness, and the florets all had that yellow tinge to them that broccoli gets when it's past its prime. The egg rolls were the only passable item in our order and the only thing we finished. This was a huge disappointment and we will not be back.

Good to see this takeout and delivery place doing well. Tasty Chinese-American classics such as sweet and sour dishes, excellent soups made with homemade stock. Spicier selections like General Tso's and orange chicken, and specialties like their excellent Singapore Noodles. They offer combos, containing a main protein dish and white or fried pork rice, and and a cabbage-heavy egg roll. Their crab rangoons are exceptionally good. I did have a "pork rib dinner " that was sub-par, but all else is tasty and spiced as you wish. I will return!

Best Chinese food I've had in Janesville for the price. I eat here a lot. I've had the sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, the chicken and broccoli, General Tso's chicken (I like chicken), and the crab rangoons. Sesame chicken was crispy and had a very nice sauce. Sweet and sour is average. Crispy, but kind of plain. It comes with a large container of sweet and sour sauce, as do the crab rangoons. Chicken and broccoli is good, made with fresh broccoli. General Tso's was very close to the sesame chicken, but a little spicier. You can choose the level of spiciness. Crab rangoons were superb, they have a lot of filling and were perfectly fried. There's six of them to an order. Their combo platters are their best deal. They come with a generous portion of pork fried or white rice (fried if you don't specify), your dish that you chose, and a large egg roll. Lunch specials are smaller and cheaper. They don't come with an egg roll, but they come with a drink if you pick the order up. Combo platters are available all day, and lunch specials are from 11-3. The only unsatisfactory items I've had here were the fried wontons and the egg rolls. Fried wontons were chewy and didn't have much flavor. If you're a fan of cabbage, you'll like the egg rolls. Although they were cooked properly, there wasn't enough meat or other veggies in them for me. The workers aren't overly friendly, but they aren't rude either. Last time I was here they were were wearing Quizno's hats since that business was previously here.

I previously gave this place a 4 star review, but have decided to lower it. Their quality was previously very good for delivery chinese. However, they have recently raised their prices, and the quality has gone down a bit noticeably. This is sad, since I used to eat her often, but no longer do. Their food is still pretty good, and if you go and pick it up yourself, you save yourself the delivery fee, and tip, so that helps. If you are in Janesville and want to get Chinese food quick without going to a sit-down restaurant, I recommend it.

I'm a big fan of China House. They have never disappointed me. I've tried many of their dishes because my roommate is a delivery driver there and she brings stuff home often. Their food is a great value for the price. One combination platter meal can feed me for 2-3 days depending on the dish. My only complaint is the lack of meat in the egg rolls and I'm not a fan of the sweet and sour sauce. Great local business and MUCH better than Panda Express.

When this place first opened I though it was one of the better quick Chinese restaurants in town. It has steadily gone down hill since then. I just ordered the Dragon and Phoenix, which has General Tso's Chicken and Sauteed shrimp. First it is 2 dollars more than the general Chicken at 11.55$. I figured it should be you should get a fair amount of shrimp for the additional price. Instead, I got half the amount of General Tso's chicken as normal and only 5 small shrimp. The rest was a pile of sauteed vegetables, including what tasted like canned peas. Secondly, while the sauce was still really good on the General Chicken, it should now be called Generals Fried breading. The best pieces were at most half chicken, with several good sized pieces being nothing but fried breading. I used to stop here frequently for the lunch specials, but I will have to start going to panda Garden instead.

We've tried China House 3 times and we've been happy every time. Fast delivery, fresh, crunchy veggies and yummy crab rangoon. The only negative was our delivery instructions - time of delivery - wasn't right. Our order was delivered 1/2 hour early. Not a big deal. I love ordering online. We'll definitely order again.

Tried the orange beef and Mongolian beef last night and they were both excellent. It was ready on time, a generous portion and nice and juicy. We will order our Chinese food from here in the future. The prices seem very fair the food that they provided. I just finished my leftovers and they were still very tasty. Kay B.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
