Been there a couple times the decor is fantastic. But the food sucked. My wife had cold bbq ribs. I had a burger that was just ok. We sat at the tables against the wall. They are so close to be bar that anybody passing by is right on top of you. It's a bad set up.

Food was great, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions and made some great suggestions. The manager, Leslie, is the best, anything we asked for, she was on it. The atmosphere is great, I can't wait to see it with the patio open! We had the deep fried pickles both times we were here, they're amazing! We will definitely be back, great to see some new businesses coming to Hudson!

It disappoints me that I have to give this a 3 star review, because it really is a fun restaurant with good burgers. But the reason for the 3 star review is because of the service. The servers never check up on you, to the point where I had to wait over 10 minutes from the time I was finished eating to get my check. But like I said, the restaurant is fun. It looks like a log cabin and the night life is fun. One of the radio stations from the Twin Cities comes over and the tables are pushed back to open up a dance floor.

We visited for the first time on Saturday night. I had wild rice soup and salad, my husband had fish and chips, and my son had a mushroom burger. I wasn't impressed with the soup. It tasted okay, but there was very little wild rice. It was mostly made up of carrots and celery. My husband said that the fish and fries were good. The mushroom burger also received high marks. Things to improve on: try to upgrade your host staff. Three confused-looking teenagers didn't know how to keep the traffic flowing. Despite several empty tables, we were told that we'd have at least a 35-minute wait. I also had to dock a star for the dirty restrooms. The guys said that the men's room was awful, and believe me, they don't usually notice these things. The women's room wasn't awful, but there were several paper towels strewn around the floor. Drinks were good, prices were fair. Hopefully they'll fix a couple of issues and be successful.

Straight up AVERAGE....average food, service, decor, themed like cuter younger brother of Timberlodge with the exposed wood and lumber themed decor. Who does not like a moose? Much less one that is smilin' ...Cute logo and concept--It is just not my thing at this stage in my life---If i had younger children this would be probably my go-to spot in town. Where they can enjoy while mama gets her drink on. I think this location and basic menu will attract many people that view Hudson as a destination weekend get-a-way. This just rides the fence for me of being everything I am not looking for when picking a place to eat---A large menu with very normal american food---basic drinks--with a few fun names and themed ideas. It will please many people but not really knock it outta the park for this one. I had the hot turkey sandwich and found it to be decent but not earth shattering.

First time here was on Father's Day. I like the atmosphere of the place. It was a nice sunny day out and the restaurant had big garage doors opening up on to main street in down town. That was pretty cool. It made everything feel open and airy. I also liked the decor of the place. Large, wooden bar stools and tables and plenty of space in between. We had a group of six and were plenty comfortable with room all around. The drink special for the day was a bloody mary, which you could get regular or spicy. Both came with the extras like a beef stick, olives and pickles. The bloody was pretty good, and the price was right, $3. They had some good sounding things on the menu, like different kinds of sandwhiches, burgers and appetizers. The had classic apps like cheese curds etc. Bar food. All six of us went with either a sandwhich of some kind or a burger. Our waitress was pretty attentive and was good at answerinf questions. She took our order and then went to put the order in.... And then we all sat there.... For about 45 minutes. No food yet, and the watered down remains of our bloodies. The waitress did come back around to ask if we wanted any more drinks, and to fill our water glasses. At that time, some of us got a beer. There was not much mention of the long wait for the food though. I appreciate when there is acknowledgement from the server that the food is running slow and the wait is longer than expected. However, we made the best of it. Although, it didn't seem overly busy. After all, it is a bar so I am sure that evenings are their busiest times, and with it being slow for us on a Sunday, I almost don't want to know how long you would have to wait to eat on a Friday night. The food came, it looked good, tasted good and hit the spot. The prices were reasonable too. I think most everyone's meal was under $12, so not too bad. I got a 'cajan burger' that had cheese, bacon and a cajan ranch sauce. It was good. I would have liked a little more ranch and probably should have asked, but if I end up there again, I'll be sure to. We all finished up eating and then we were on our way. Upon leaving the restaurant, I said something to someone I was with about how the food was good, but I wish the wait hadn't been so long and a passersby said that it was always like that. I guess if you are wanting an affordable burger in a cool bar in down town hudson, check out the smiling moose. Just don't be surprised if you wait a bit longer to eat.

Two and a half stars. If service was better it could have been a four. Obnoxious people should avoid working in the service industry. Came here on Father's Day with a table of six. We were seated quickly. Everything in the place is wood. It's what you'd expect from a place called Smilin' Moose Lodge. I can get down with it. I liked the garage style windows. We didn't get a table by a window, there weren't any available, but I like the indoor/outdoor feel. There was a $3 Bloody Mary special going on. I was hungry, like one sip of alcohol I'll be shit faced hungry. So when the bloody came out with a beef stick, pickle, olive, celery stick, and banana pepper, I was happy. My snack had arrived. The drink itself was tasty, perfect level of spice. There aren't a lot of exciting options on the menu. Which is okay as long as it's done right. They have breakfast dishes, none screamed "eat me" at me. It was basic breakfast egg dishes, and omelettes. For lunch you have burger and sandwich options. Typical bar food. I ordered the Bourbon Bacon Burger (there was also just a Bacon Burger on the menu), that comes with a bourbon glaze, aged cheddar, and applewood bacon. I substitute the fries for a side salad. I also asked for horseradish sauce on the side because my beef can't be without it, like my waffles can't be without its chicken. 30 minutes later, still waiting on the food. We went ahead and ordered another round of drinks. Our server, although very pleasant and friendly, didn't say anything like "hey, sorry about the wait," or "your food's coming right up." Once it reached over the 45 minute mark she finally said it would be up soon. So food comes and some girl, not our server, comes with a giant try of plates. She starts barking the plate names out super loud, just obnoxious as hell. She keeps screaming bacon burger no cheese, over and over. I look at the plate and it's a bacon burger, no cheese, with fries. I stay quiet. All the dishes are placed in front of everyone. I realize that the bacon burger was mine. I tell her I had a bourbon bacon burger with cheese, and sub a side salad. From across the table of us six she screams at me rudely, "YOU DIDN'T ASK FOR NO CHEESE?!!" I just looked over and said rudely back, "YEAH." It might have been our servers error putting in my order, but no one told this girl to be an ass clown about it. So my bourbon bacon burger, with cheese comes 5 minutes later. It comes with fries...our server tells us that she won't charge me for the fries, but will bring me the side salad substitute they forgot again. Wtf? The fries come with the dish originally anyway and they up-charge on substitutions. Of course I shouldn't be charged for fries anyway! However, I sure was up-charged for my side salad. Oh, and guess what else they forgot? My horseradish sauce. I had to ask for that again as well. The food was good. They didn't ask for a temp on the burger so I can only assume it was frozen, but it wasn't dry. The bourbon glaze I liked, especially with the cheese that I never asked them to do away with, it had the sweet and savory thing going for it. My boyfriend liked his walleye sandwich, which I had a bite of and thought was good too. He also subbed a side salad, which they got right, but he gave it to me as we waited on my plate. Good thing I've got a sweet man that didn't want me to sit and watch everyone else eat. When we were walking out we were talking about the service when a women behind us, also who just finished dining, says to us "the service is ALWAYS spotty." Well that's just shitty. This place needs to clean up their service. In the meantime, I will be just fine going to the many of other options close by.

Today we sat near the back patio doors and the weather was perfect. Our server was wonderful and attentive. I had the Pot Roast Dip sandwich and my husband had a buffalo chicken sandwich. The buffalo chicken was standard but the fresh veggies and cibatta bun were a nice add. My pot roast sandwich was outstanding with onion strings and a rich aujou dip. The restaurant was clean and although we are not typically into "lodgy" type decor, it was fun.

This place is really cool looking inside and out. A total cabin feel. The food here is good, just your normal bar and grill. Depending on the time of day/night you come here, you get different crowds. During the day it's a cool place to bring your family or friends and watch tv, eat, and drink. At night, it gets pretty rowdy, people dancing of all ages. Sometimes if there is a band you have to pay a cover charge, otherwise it's a cool place to stop by and have a drink.

What is this place? A log house in a historic downtown area! Can they knock this place down and put something back up like Bob Smith's Supper Club? Food=meh Drink=meh Atmosphere=meh.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch before wandering Hudson's shopping district. Our waitress dropped off the menus and immediately asked if we wanted to order any drinks. Unfortunately, she interpreted "we'd like to check out the menu" as "we're not ordering drinks" and disappeared before I could ask about the draught beer list (which they don't include in their menu or put on the table). A few minutes later, the waitress came back for our order and again failed to ask about drinks... so we both ended up having ice water with our lunch. Bars that don't make sure their customers are drinking something are bars that don't make a lot of money. On the plus side, the food was pretty good (the Bacon Bleu Burger is one of the finest bleu-cheese burgers I've had the pleasure to chow on). On the minus side, the service was indifferent. We chose this place because it looked kinda fun, but it wasn't, and should we be in Hudson again, we'd probably go somewhere else.

Tried the new breakfast on the menu, needs some work, the eggs were over cooked, bacon not crispy as asked, well 1 of 3 was, toast barely toasted, and the hash browns were mushy, taste like twice baked potatoes but i looked around and seen french toast looked amazing! I know eggs are not the easiest to cook and its new so i will try again!

Had dinner with my hubby and my 3 sons ages 11, 13, and 17. I had been here for some drinks with friends during the soft opening and enjoyed the bartenders, however they were still working out some basic new restaurant bugs so I decided to wait until they had their full menu going to do my review as a senior Tripadvisor contributor. We went on a Tuesday night, were sat promptly for a party of 5 at 530pm. Our waitress was prompt and attentive. We ordered a steak salad, a pot roast dip sandwich, pot roast dinner, a cheese stuffed burger, and our youngest saw a fried egg topped burger on the regular menu but couldn't eat such a feast at 11 yeArs old so the waitress and kitchen accommodated by allowing him to add it to a kids burger! The steak salad with blue cheese dressing was cooked perfectly and the house blue cheese was quite amazing for me as someone who mAkes her own blue cheese dressing at home. The pot roast dip was VERY good ! The meat tender and smothered with provolone and topped with French fried onions, horseradish and a rosemary gravy to dip...so good and the bun was extremely tasty! My 17 year old LOVED the pot roast dinner smothered in rosemary gravy over bread and served with a very creamy golden mashed potato side. My 13 year old is a juicy Lucy connoisseur and ordered a stuffed moose burger minus the jalapeños and said it measured up to his fave burgers ever! We ordered the 1 lb carrot cake for dessert and it was delish. We wanted a S'more dessert to go because some of us were too full but it came in a cast iron dish so we will just have to try it next time! Dinner was accurate, tasty, and prompt. The atmosphere lives up to it's LODGE name and on weekends KDWB radio station is on hand to deejay a dance party with a large dance floor and lights! They have amazing party drinks served in a ladle for sharing in two sizes but you must drink from the ladle! No straws! In the summer they are planning a huge deck overlooking the river and all of the windows are fitted in garage style doors that will roll up and make the place an open air treat! Can't wait! This is definitely a place to look forward to eating and playing this summer!!

Owners did a wonderful job with remodel, love the feel of the place. A saw mill my friend owns supplied/installed the rough sawn wood floors, so I know they shopped local for the wood, which I support..Very cozy and friendly atmosphere. I am excited to see how they utilize the windows and garage doors in the summer for some fresh air! I stopped by during their "soft opening." Drinks were good (strong), and they have some large shots in ladles which are pretty fun to drink with the homies. I had already eaten dinner, so I just ordered some boneless wings and therefore cannot comment much on the food, since wings are kind of hard to screw up, however the Carolina BBQ sauce they were tossed in was excellent. Only reason why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is that a friends sandwich wrap was brought out with chicken instead of steak. The guy bringing us out the food said he would go check the kitchen and see if he grabbed the wrong one. He did, and proceeded to blame it on "not speaking Spanish." Instead of making such a shallow comment, he could have just apoligized and not made himself look like an a$$. Granted, the restaurant is still in the soft opening, so I hope they are still working on weeding out the bad staff and educating the good staff. I do love the atmosphere and plan on becoming a regular if they get it all figured out!

We came here early for dinner on friday and it's a good thing we came when we did. This place filled up fast! It wasn't long before we found out the reason why. First of all, the place is done up with wood, and plenty of it. I think the log house look was a great idea and breaking out of the usual cookie-cutter look that you see in so many other restaurants. We got there in time for happy hour and the prices were good and the beer selection was also quite good. For an appetizer we got the smothered tater tots. Covered in mesquite queso with bacon bits and scallions, these things were great! A little pricy maybe for tater tots but then they give you a heaping plie of them, so no worry's. For dinner, I had the turkey pot pie and my wife had the slow roasted hot turkey sandwich. The turkey pot pie was brought out on a large plate that looked like it was a turkey pie. An ample portion of turkey, peas and carrots was covered in a flaky crust that had to be 12" around and 1" thick. Not sure if many people can finish it in one sitting, especially after eating the fresh and tasty side salad, but somehow, I was able to. It was just too good to stop. My wife's turkey sandwich was just as good and just as huge. There was no way she could eat it all, she was lucky to put much of a dent in it. Woo-hoo! Leftovers for me! The service was great. Our waitress, Krissa, was attentive and knowledgable. The food server was all smiles and even asked how things were as she passed by us on her way to another table. Another woman, who I believe was the manager, also came over to ask how things were. She saw our water glasses were almost empty, asked if we wanted more and came back with refills. This place is just what downtown Hudson needed. Great comfort food, with great service. We'll be back!

Buffalo Wild Wings redone. Food was lack luster and had little flavor. They claim to make stuff in house. Yet everything appeared to be frozen style food. Very loud seemed as though their large staff just ran around acting busy. I'm a beer guy and my beer was good, friends told me their drinks were week. They switched to beer because if that. Low rating but I will be back to check and see any improvements.

Stopped in for lunch during the week. No crowd, service was excellent. My friend and I both got the coconut chicken salad and were surprised at the chicken breast prep. The salad part was excellent, fresh lettuce, avocado, and tomato. The chicken breast had a thick breaded covering, with some coconut, that was also deep fried. The grease was still dripping. Went back a few days later with a large group and no one was that impressed with their meals. This included hamburgers, salads, and 2 of us had the pot roast dip. Homemade horseradish sauce is very creamy with little horseradish flavoring (I like the pure ground horseradish). All in all, the meals were fair, service was OK. With all of the other restaurants available in downtown Hudson, this will not be one of our choices again.

I went in with some of my MC friends opening weekend and they were denied entry... Due to them wearing their colors. This makes me concerned to go back with my daughter and her basketball team while wearing their team colors for fear of embarrassment of being rejected entry with them and forcing us to go somewhere else. I'll skip the embarrassment and just go to Stone Tap four doors down. BTW I did have the opportunity to eat their wings there the following day... I'm just being honest your chef should look at Kirkland microwave hot wings as alternative to the Tyson stuff you sold me!

Horrible! We were there Friday night and then again on a Sunday night two days apart. Each of us had a burger. The first night after requesting it be done medium it came so hard that it was like a hockey puck. Cranberry and vodka ordered as a drink and there is little to no liquor at all. Sunday each of us had a different burger and this time it was raw inside. Server would do anything about it and not adjust bill. Left table and sat at bar for cocktail which was adequate but female bartender was beyond rude. Never again.

This is a sports bar, not fine dining but if you order right you will get a great meal! Try the turkey pot pie! DELICIOUS and enough for two. Service was great and moose lodge interior is just what you would expect. We will be back.
