Wouldn't know how to rate the food because once we got our Sunday brunch menus, we didn't see the wait staff again. They were overwhelmed, most tables had no food and were waiting, so we took that as a clue to split.

I give this place 4 stars just from having the Belfast seafood Chowder. It was one of the best seafood chowders I've had and I've been all over the country and in the Deep South, it rivals Savannah, GA's She-Crab soup! It was loaded with very fresh seafood! Baby octopus, mussels YOU NAME IT!!! I had the seafood Boxty and it was also delicious. Our server was perfect. I have no clue why I haven't been here before and I live in Hudson! There are about 10 Other menu items id like to give a whirl so I'll definititely return. They could do a much better job making the atmosphere more "pub-like" on the downside.

Off the beaten path, but well worth the little drive just east of Hudson WI. great food, great beer selection. Prices are very much inline, service was attentive and friendly. We will be going back for more!

Aside from it being off the beaten path this place is so great. Very clean and roomy. Awesome servers. A huge variety of beer and scotch. I got the sausage and potatoes and it was amazing. My husband got the fish and chips and it was also awesome. Not drown in grease and breading like some fish and chips. We also tried the pretzels and ale mustard. Best. Mustard. Ever. I wish we lived closer to there more often.

Stopped in for dinner on a weeknight with family. I had grilled cheese and bacon, mother had potato soup, wife had a salad, and son had some sort of pasty. Nothing fancy but everything was very good and we enjoyed our meals. Service was top notch. Great beer selection and very cozy. Will definitely come back!

Had a wonderful meal at Paddy Ryan's. Hubs had the Irish stew (with lamb) and I have the Jameson Boxty. We were both very pleased with our meals. Limited beer selection; however what they offered was good. Hubs really enjoyed the service, especially since the server kept calling him honey. There are lots of wonderful places to eat out there; however I will happily go back to Paddy Ryan's again.

I really liked this place. Not easy to find, and if you're coming from 94 you might be tempted to think you're headed in to an industrial park. Keep going... Tried boxy, which was new for me. Potato pancakes with a great sauce and one's choice of protein or other goodies. I had corned beef and cabbage. My new favorite food. Wife had the pasty, which is huge. She took the second half home for lunch the next day! The Sticky Toffee Pudding is a wonderful thing that might be illegal in some states. Check your local laws. Nice live music on a Friday evening to top it off. I travel through here often, and will be back!

Great food and service. I love the true essence of Ireland in this place. Live music on Friday nights... Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Food was ok. Service was terrible. We had a group of about 10 people. They added gratuity of 18 percent without saying anything. At the end of the night we had a $400 tab and she refused to separate it out so we could pay more easily.

Love this place. I agree with the other guy that I wouldn't normally try the boxty but they are awesome. Low key place with unique food and and wide selection of beers.

I find it to be a good place for cornedbeef and cabbage any time of the year good Irish whiskey & good Irish beer and even good Irish music at times, it's a nice place that is worth the stop

I've never had a bad meal here, and the servers are all super nice, attentive, and helpful. Real, authentic Irish food, large quantities, and a great beer selection. It's worth the drive! My favorites are the fried green beans and the soda bread. Definitely try a boxty! This is also an awesome place if you have a large group and/or lots of little kids - just avoid the prime hours when they are super busy and you'll have a great experience. A better location or a nice patio would make this place perfect but either way, don't change a thing inside because I love everything about the style and decor.

They now serve weekend brunch and I was excited to give it a try. We had excellent service as the place was empty, which is disappointing as the food is generally quite good. The irish cream pancakes are a must try, and their breakfast boxty is fantastic (as are the dinner boxtys). The price is also very good. I would have given 5 stars but I also tried the corned beef hash, which should have been amazing considering that this is an Irish pub, but unfortunately, it was terrible! My recommendation is to go for brunch, just avoid the corned beef hash, everything else is worth the trip.

Ordered the bison bacon wrapped meat loaf - it was off the charts excellent!! Service was very friendly.

The bar side of this establishment if okay...I personally don't care for the looks of the dining side as it was just a big room that looked more like a supper club with no flair or decor and it did appear that a lot of people take the kids and I am not into sitting by little ones when I'm out for the night. My bartender was professional and I had a chance to watch him with some of his regulars and could see that he is just a calm cool collected bartender that is taking care of business. I like that they have a good selection of liquor and excellent beers in my opinion on tap. My food was just okay nothing to complain about but nothing that made me yearn to get back either. I had the potato boxty with beef medallions--the husband had a fish sandwich. He was not very impressed. There does seem to be a strong following of locals here that all know each other. I will go back and see what it is like on a different day and time.

Best Irish food I've ever had. Love the guiness stew, French fries, mashed potatoes, dubliner chicken. Lovely staff, huge beer list, good prices. Cozy.

Food was good. Service was okay at best. I can't believe the owners would knowingly have the bartender be both bar server and restaurant server? Nobody gets good service

I drove 45 minutes one-way to bring my wife here. I ate here for lunch a couple times when I was in the area for work. The Fish and Chips are to-die-for. The Beer Battered Onion Rings that we decided to try were also off the chart delicious. The home made tartar sauce is great too. I wish I lived closer. Check out the photo.

This place is great. The food was delicious and service friendly. I was visiting from out of town and didn't have the opportunity to sit and hang out as long as I would have liked, but the bartender was super friendly and I left wishing I could have stayed longer. The next time I'm out visiting my brother I will be requesting a return visit.

Oh no. We've been regulars for a while and because of menu prices, aren't going as often anymore. food quality is good, average to slightly above average, but it seems they have priced things too high over these past couple of years... I don't mind paying for delicious food, and often do at the Shady Grove and San Pedro, but for some reason, it seems like price creep has impacted our wanting to go to Paddy Ryan's.

I have been here several times the last few years and every experience has been rewarding. The food is very good everytime, regardless of what I get. My favorite meal there is the steak boxty. Their whisky menu is exceptional and their beer menu is almost as good. The only thing that is less than perfect is they are sometimes a little under staffed which can make the wait time longer than expected. Regardless, I will continue to go back time and time again.

Quick summery: Sandwiches around 10 dollars, dinner meals from 15 on up. Hit or miss on menu items. Some tasty, some bland. Atmosphere pleasant but only pseudo-Irish pub feel - lacking "lived-in" coziness. Full bar. 2 or 3 or 4 stars depending on what you order, and your own impressions of the place. Detailed experience: Ordered their Ruben Sandwich last night described in their menu as: "Kilbeggan Reuben Sandwich - $10.00 Our slow cooked corned beef piled high, braised cabbage, Irish cheese and Paddy's mustard sauce, grilled to perfection." *See image* I really wanted this Ruben to be fantastic, but was disappointed. I felt that "piled high" meant that there should be more corned beef to sandwich ratio, and the beef was lacking in flavor. As I'm admittedly "not" an expert on Irish cuisine, perhaps "authentic" corned beef should be blander, but I anticipated a salty "bite" to the meat which it didn't possess. Also, the meat seemed a bit rubbery, which gave it an undesirable mouth feel. The braised cabbage, Irish cheese with Paddy's mustard sauce - topping off the sandwich was creamy, but because the beef was lacking in taste, this flavor completely dominated the sandwich. My wife ordered the Jameson Boxty. Described as: "Potato pancakes with Jameson Marinated Medallions, natural juices, whiskey and cheese." This was a winner. Never would have considered adding whiskey, cheese and steak to potato pancakes, but I would definitely eat these every chance I get. If you are a fan of potato pancakes, give these a try. Delicious. I think they were also around $10. In conclusion, the food at Paddy Ryan's for me has been hit-or-miss. this was the first time I've been there in over a year, although it is the closest restaurant to my house... so that should speak for itself. The atmosphere is mixed for me too. Hardwood tables and trim throughout the place emulate quality, but the space just doesn't have that "lived-in" Irish pub feel. The feel could be described as "fish-tank-like" due to all the windows as it is located in a newer strip mall. Also, you might want to wear your coat if you are sitting next to a window on a cold January evening.
