These subs are unique from other subs thanks to the generously large French bread they are made on and the delightfully uniformly diced tomatoes and onions that are tossed in their herbed oil. The girl behind the counter is always extremely friendly and accommodating. The only drawbacks here are the outdated, mismatched decor and seating in the dining area and when you place larger orders, for example 6 subs, the cook in the back requires a longer amount of time than you would expect to have your order ready. (They operate with one person in the back and one person in the front.) All in all, it's a great place to stop for a lunch sub and kettle chips.

Best subs in Milwaukee. I grew up going to their old location on 27th across the street from Toys R Us. I love this location because it's so close to me. The turkey gobbler is my favorite. One thing to know, in order not to make a mess, do not remove the sub from the bag! Hold it in the bag, peeling back the bag as you eat it. It's really the only way to eat a Goldcoast sub. Subs are ready quickly, staff is friendly, and the quality is always good.

Yummmmmmmmmm this is my boyfriends favorite sub shop. So glad he introduced it to me. It's a small place and huge sandwiches. I must say it was a little too salty for me but still good enough for 5stars especially because they love their mayo like I do! I'll be back to try something different to test the salt level again ;)

I must be the only one who doesn't care for this place at all. I was really looking forward to it because I'm a sub connoisseur and love to compare. Based on the reviews I had high expectations, but I was extremely disappointed. My sandwich was SOAKED with oil and basically inedible. I took only a few bites before I realized I could taste nothing but oil. I will never go back here again, there are better places for a sub.

If I could give it 10 stars I would! The subs are so good-- you'll never be able to eat cousins or subway again. The subs consist of whatever meat you choose, American cheese, mayo, lettuce, finely diced onion, & an oil blend which is out of this world- and makes a Gold Coast sub so special! Unfortunately, there are probably about a zillion calories in each sandwich. When I go there, I get the gobbler (turkey) with no mayo & no cheese- I honestly don't think it takes anything away from how delicious it is. The staff is so nice too! I've gone to the one on Oklahoma also & the subs taste the same now matter where you go, but I like this one better just because it's new & not in a gas station :)

Good bread, good deli meats and fresh toppings make this one of the best sub sandwiches in town. The prices are fair and the subs are delicious. They seem to be inspired by Suburpia subs but the quality is higher here.

For those of you who remember the old Suburpia, the sandwiches at Gold Coast will be a welcome reminder of the good old days. For those of you who don't remember, give this place a try too. The sandwiches are unique in a great way. To begin with, the bread is awesome. Soft crunch crust with sesame seeds, sturdy yet moist and tender on the inside. Holds up well to the fillings. My "go to" sandwich of choice is the turkey. Relatively high quality deli style turkey, thin sliced, and topped with a mixture of shredded lettuce, finely chopped onion, small tomato cubes, small pieces of American cheese, and their special blend of spices all mixed together with the mystery oil that's so intoxicating as one topping for the sandwich. It's served in a plastic bag...and that's just perfect. Open the bag, hold on tight and start eating. When you think you're done, the best part often remains in the bottom of the bag. Go ahead and scoop out the remnants of the onions, lettuce and tomatoes and that luscious oil. Just don't plan on doing it delicately....not gonna happen. Is this health food? No. Is it delicious? Yes.

subs do NOT get any better than GOLD COAST the best bread and the seasoning and the oil are to die for ....i will ALWAYS choose GOLD COAST subs over any other place ...when my friends want to take me out for special occasion i say Gold Coast PLEASE !!!

Best sub shop in Milwaukee... Recommend getting subs as is with no substitutions. I have been to all their past locations and now am luck enough to have them 2 block from my work.

We had lunch here yesterday. I am not sure, but I think this is a new location. There is a small, very basic seating area here. The subs were good but certainly pricier than Subway or Cousins. Not a bad place.

My family has been here 4 times this year. Each time has been consistent. The bread this last time was still fresh even at 7 pm (an hour before they closed). They are still chopping the tomatoes and lettuce which helps spread the flavor and allows the oil and seasoning to mix into the ingredients. In my opinion the seasoning is the selling point of the shop. I have enjoyed it on every type of sub that I get. Also the chips that they sell are of the brand name Dirty. These chips are hard to find but well worth the addition to the subs. I also like the little bit of customer care that they perform when they put different colored twisty ties for the different subs which makes it easy to figure out who's is who's TL:DR Great subs, Great seasoning, Great chips, Great customer service.

My wife and I love this Goldcoast because the sandwiches are just so dang good! We sometimes stop on our motorcycles and take the sandwiches along. They sell soft drinks in cans, and the chips are in bags so they can also be purchased and taken along in the saddle bags. This is just a darn good place to stop on your way to a spur-of-the-moment picnic in any of the area parks. I highly recommend the Gobbler ($4.99) and the Gourmet ($4.75). We love the uncomplicated menu, and friendly service, and it's just 20 blocks east of one of the Milwaukee area's four Harley Dealers!!!! (Very easy, and quick access to the I-894 bypass.)

Best subs in the country. Always stop here as much as possible when I'm in town. They might be modeled after Suburpia, but their subs are better. Do yourself a favor and go try a few!

Took a trip up to MKE to peruse a liquor store and figured I'd grab some lunch after I was done. Glad that I yelped this one. I snagged a "Heifer" - beef and cheese sub. The spice blend that they use on their subs is pretty much a show stealer. I also appreciate the fact that they dice the onion and tomatoes. Mixing all that with the mayo and the oil, it made for one fantastic sub. When I go beer shopping again, I will most likely make this my goto when I'm finished. Would love to try their seafood sub and the ham&turkey

Reminds me of the subs we used to get as kids at Suburpia. These are the best subs in Milwaukee!! The "Say Cheese" is a great choice. The owner is always so nice!!! Go get some of these and support a local business.
