Ordered a Cajun Burger, and my wife ordered Pico De Gallo Burger, both were amazing, and the kids ordered chicken tenders, I tried those, very good too! Food came in quick too!

Was happy to see this place was open on the 4th of July. Friday night in Wisconsin and I wanted a fish fry. Usual fish fry place was closed for the holiday and I'd heard good things about the beer battered fish here. The fish was good, potato pancakes with applesauce was amazing. Beer menu is great too. Happy to support local businesses in Greendale :-)

The first time we went here, we were disappointed. But every time we've gone since, the food has been good, the service has been great, and they've got a good selection of beer. In addition, they're accommodating for kids, particularly on the weekends during lunch. I would choose them over the other options in downtown greendale when dining out with the family for lunch. And the pickle chips are ridiculously good. You've got to try them!

Kids food was great and very reasonably priced. The Jacked Up Mac n Cheese was alright, good size for the price. Staff was very friendly.

My wife and I are here for the first time and we will be returning, burgers are tastey, wife got 'jacked up' Mac and cheese with grilled chicken and it was excellent, music selection was very good, rather expansive beer selection, service is rather good, would recommend giving it a try!

Stopped in and had a meal. Got a burger and the chips. Burger was pretty good, not the best but a well done pub burger. The homemade chips were really nice because they had a good crunch and fresh taste. Service was excellent, very friendly staff. Beer selection is above average and the actual restaurant is very clean. Will will defiantly visit again. If I had to nitpick, I would say the place looks kind of cookie cutter on the inside, but still a nice place.

Panther Pub & Eatery is nothing special. It's a solid 2-1/2 stars but I'll round up to 3 for good measure. I visited with my husband and son and my husband had a beer (bottled) and I had a decent Pinot Grigio. They had a $5 app special so we tried the mozzarella sticks. They were tasty, but I think they purchase Saz's mozzarella sticks and cook them on site. My son had chicken strips and fries - standard kids meal fare. My husband and I both had the Panther Burger. I was disappointed with the burger. It wasn't very flavorful and, considering it bears the name of the restaurant, not very unique. The fries were good. My husband said the chips were dry. Our server was friendly. He was young and seemed a bit inexperienced, but he did a good job. We sat on the patio, which is really nice since it's tucked away off Greendale's main drag. I will say, however, that I was surprised to see two different tables where customers had their dogs. I also was disappointed that smoking is permitted on the patio. I know it's outside, but I'm not a big fan of dog hair and smoke near my food. Now I can say that I've tried the Panther and I probably won't go back.

I traveled 51 minutes from a coffee shop in Delafield on the recommendation from the "Friday Fish Fry Guide" on Facebook. The picture was 3 pieces of battered fish and potato pancakes. The latter is enough to coerce me into the trek across counties. The Pather Pub is inviting, full of happy Greendale residents, proud of their local establishment. The menu is not overwhelming while still offering a nice selection of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and burgers. They even provide a variety of microbrews on tap and bottled, as well as a not-too-shabby wine list for the suburbanite. It did take a while to get a drink menu though. The bartender was busy chatting with two women sitting a few stools down from me. When he did manage to lay down a cocktail napkin in front of me, he slid it there without breaking eye contact with the ladies. It was a little insulting. I am a lady, and it felt like I wasn't worthy enough to have the one conversation end and have an introduction to the person serving ME. I ordered a glass of Von Stiehl Riesling while I perused the menu and decided what to bring home for dinner. The bar was a good spot to view the Masters and Santa Anita horse racing. When I arrived home with my four styrofoam containers, I took a good look at my to-go order. I ordered the pretzel "bites," mozz sticks, and two fish fries (one with french fries and one with potato pancakes). The "bites" were actually standard pretzels. You receive 3 with the order. Unfortunately, they were likely frozen and heated. I would love to see either pretzels purchased from a local shop that makes them or see ones made in-house. The cheese sauce was delicious, and a homemade pretzel would've made it the perfect starter. The mozzarella sticks were good, but they were probably also frozen at one time. I don't mind "frozen" if the item was made in bulk at the restaurant and they freeze for future use. I was disappointed by the fish fry. Even after an attempt to reheat in the oven on 350 degrees, the fish and the potato pancake were limp. There was a lot of batter on the fish that could not crisp up. Even the french fries had a hard time getting crispy. I am not going to write off the Panther Pub after some apparent boo-boos. The take-out could be different than the dine-in. I would like to dine at the restaurant and see if there is a difference. I am sending some friends from the neighborhood there and I will get their feedback as well. I really like the restaurant, and I want to give it another go.

Solid Place. I think the burgers are great. I recommend anything on the pretzel bun. Frys are good and the portions are to be expected. Nice beer selection. The High School Pictures are fun to look at on the wall, but there really is not much of "vibe" other than all the photo wall art. Overall, I am happy that this place is in Greendale as it is a great compliment to the other restaurants on Broad Street.

Living a few blocks away, I really want to like this place. I REALLY want to. I have been there a number of times, the food isn't consistent, and that is my biggest issue. They have a terrific Friday Fish Fry when you happen to get a good one. We would go every Friday, had 3 great fish frys in a row... then the 4th was a oily pile of fish. It was so oily that my potato pancakes were swimming. Tried again a few weeks later and got another great fish fry... went back the next week to be handed another oily disaster... They have some great stuff, the Panther Pub Chips, homemade chips with bacon and cheese, are always awesome. Great to snack on when having a couple drinks with friends.

This place was a mixed bag. My girlfriend's salad was great with chunks of mozzarella cheese, green apple slices, walnuts and cranberries with a tangy raspberry vinagrette. I had a Philly Cheesesteak that was OK. The meat was a bit undercooked and it could have used a dash of salt to bring out the flavor. The service was good and our server extraordinarily friendly. There were plenty of TV's to enjoy the football games that were going on this day. I will give the place another shot or two

Great beer selection. The soups are always good and the fries crisp. The sandwiches are flavorful and fresh. I wish there was a bit more variety besides just sandwiches and salads some more main entree type dishes would be nice, but the food they do have is good. The service is always friendly especially as my cousin and I are regulars, it is nice to see the same bartenders and chat it up.

DISAPPOINTING - one word can sum it up. Stopped in on a Friday night and the place was dead. Never a good sign. Very cute inside and right in downtown Greendale. Nice sports bar feel to it and apparently like Cheers, everyone there knows everyone. I guess that is pretty cool too. That's about it for the "like" factor The menu had a good selection of sandwiches and apps to choose from so I was pretty excited.....until the food came. The food was bad, just bad. We ordered pretzel bites with cheese and they were the kind you can get at the dollar store in a box and microwave and they charged $7 for them. Horrible. My chicken sandwich was on a stale bun that was chewy and I had to pull it off. My sweet potatoe fries that I had to pay extra for were inedible because they were not cooked all the way. Hard and greasy, gross. Food was pretty pricey for something I can buy and heat up myself. Service was sloooooow, not sure why since it was dead inside. When half of our food was untouched, the waiter didn't' seem surprised to even ask if everything was ok with it. To me, it wasn't worth even addressing because I got the impression no one would care anyways. For that reason, we will NOT be returning. There are other places to choose from in Greendale, keep walking by this one.

Are here for first time in a while. Very busy on a Tuesday night is a good sign. Interesting bartender who engages the clientele. Ruben award delicious bread was crunch and meat tender. Fries average. Much better than last time here.

The first couple of times I was here, I was underwhelmed. But the last two times I went, it was really really good. I don't know if they got a new cook or what, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for good bar good. It's definitely not fancy or formal or anything, definitely more of a bar atmosphere, but it's a great option for us because it's so close. The patio is great when the weather is nice and we have brought our daughter in her stroller a few times and it had been a problem at all. We will definitely be back. Lots of TVs, too!

Great pub food! This is our fifth time and have never been disappointed. Look at the bacon and blue cheese burger with sweet potato fries.

I have tried this restaurant 3 times. I want to like it. I want to go there for lunch on a regular basis as I work in the area - but I can't do it. The food is overpriced and isn't good. The menu looks good, but the food just isn't up to the standards I would expect at the prices they are charging. The Chicken has hard, overcooked, and tasteless. One time I had a Panini sandwich special - it lacked flavor and I was disappointed. Then my last visit I had the chick parm sandwich. Terrible. I wish Ricardo's was open for lunch. Their chicken parm is really good - and large enough for two meals. The Panther Pub sandwich is worse than one I could get at Burger King and is 3 times the cost. It doesn't seem as if they use fresh ingredients in their kitchen, that is the only thing I can think of for all of their food to be so bad. I gave it two stars because it has potential. They need better servers, better food, etc.... but the atmosphere is good, they have a great patio out back, and I really want them to succeed, from a location perspective.

We were super excited to have a new place in the area, but were really let down by this one. The food was average at best and the bartender was a little odd. The place was relatively empty. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be going back to try them again.

Never have been dissapointed. Grown Up Grilled cheese, Buffalo Chicken sandwich and the home made chips are to die for. Friendly staff, quick service and very clean.

My girlfriend and I came here with her parents on Father's Day because they wanted to show us this place in Greendale they were excited about. We all left disappointed and guaranteed that we would not return again for anything more than what was a respectable beer list. The Reuben was extremely fatty, poorly seasoned and served burnt. I had the bourbon chicken sandwich, that was forgettable, and the ladies had mushroom Swiss burgers that they both said were extremely overdone. The chips that came with the sandwiches were also flavorless and rubbery. The service wasn't terrible but our waitress should have realized the failures she put before us and sought some sort of resolution; she never even asked us how anything was. I fear that when all of the faithful, like my girlfriend's parents see what this place has become, they will again find themselves on the opposite end of the block or back on 76th street.

The Panther Pub and Eatery, 5651 Broad St., opened to the public on August 1, 2013. Once again, I was one of the last people to hear about it. I must start paying attention! On Tuesday night, some friends and I went to the Pub for dinner. Two of us had never been there before and the other one (the one who pays attention) had eaten there recently. I had done some research and checked out the reviews and much to my chagrin; most of them were not very good; complaining about everything from the service to mediocre fare. Much like movies and books, I rarely listen to reviews as we all know people love to complain about everything, even if it is not deserved. With my head held high and a good appetite, I walked inside and was looking forward to a good meal. Unfortunately, I should have looked elsewhere for a good meal, but I'll get to that later. The Pub is spacious and the seating is great with lots of room. It was nice not to be sitting on top of other people and straining to hear the conversation at our own table. The décor was as I thought it would be - like a sports pub. The hostess staff was cheerful and helpful and our waiter, Robert, was prompt, funny and not bad on the eyes either. They have a small, limited menu consisting of burgers and other pub-type food. That is where the good ends and the bad and the ugly reared its ugly head. We started with nachos as an appetizer and the only good thing I can say is the chips were fresh and warm. There was little to no cheese and the toppings were, well I'm not really sure what the toppings were. I ordered a Cajun burger with their homemade chips and while the chips were really good, I took two bites of the burger and could not take another one. It was not cooked through and tasted "wet", like it had been taken out of the freezer, put in a microwave to thaw it out and slapped on a bun. Now I know Cajun and this wasn't it. On top of the horrible preparation of the "burger", it had no taste. My companions said their food was okay but neither one of them seemed very enthusiastic about it. Hopefully things will improve with their food as I loved the atmosphere and the staff. Unfortunately $20.00 for bad food does not make up for that.

Update 10/18 - tried it again on a quiet Wednesday night and was pleasantly surprised. Food was good - I had the burger, companions had the adult grilled cheese and the jacked up Mac & Cheese. Still just normal bar food, but as a lifelong Greendale resident, I'll take this over TGIApplegans any day. Service was consistently pokey, but we'll definitely be back. Keep up the improvements, the hard work is paying off! 8-2013 We stopped by Friday night during Village Days after the band finished in the GEA tent, hoping for a snack and a little less craziness than we knew would be going on at Ray & Dots. We found the chairs up, and staff that clearly wasn't interested in staying open to serve the post Village Days crowd. Disappointing. Stopped again Saturday early evening, hoping for a better experience, and was disappointed again. Very slow service, people walking out after waiting hours for food, and a limited version of their menu available. Grabbed a spot at the bar, had a quick drink, and stopped to use the restroom on the way out only to find that they were completely out of toilet paper and had put out wet wipes instead. Yes, it's Village Days, and yes its busier than a normal weekend. BUT...chairs up on the tables at 10:45 on a busy Friday night? No toilet paper in the building at 6:00 Saturday night? Staff thaSeems like very poor planning and execution, I hope they are able to work out the kinks!

I've been back to the Panther twice since my initial review, and they have indeed greatly improved their burger - it is now very good, hence the five star review. Friendly staff, great beer selection, and enough TVs that you are sure to see your team. I will be back regularly.

We tried it for the first time after waiting a while for them to work out the kinks. First impression was the list of draft beers was very short, after you subtract the ubiquitous selections like Bud light, Miller Lite, Blue Moon, etc. I ordered the 'special', the Tuna Melt with pub chips. What I got was a cold tuna salad on cold toast with 2 cold american cheese slices on it. Nothing melt-y about it. But both the waitress and the manager assured me they saw one come out of the kitchen earlier that was all bubbly and hot. In fact they both said the exact same thing. Really? And NOW the kitchen forgot how to make the special? My husband ordered the Reuben with pub chips. He said it was very fatty, so I took a bite and wanted to spit it out because it was so fatty! Pub chips with both sandwiches were cold and chewy. All in all...blech! Manager took both sandwiches off the bill and only charged us for the two draft beers. And since it was happy hour I thought $9.50 was a little steep for those. I guess we have to wait longer for the kinks to get worked out completely. Maybe when it changes hands to someone with restaurant experience.

Food was mediocre (how do you mess up oatmeal?!), waitress was rude, acting like it was our fault she kept getting orders wrong, atmosphere felt like a chain instead of a local pub. On the plus, hostess was very pleasant and plenty of TVs to watch the Packer game.

  • Julie B.

With only being open a few weeks, there are always kinks that need to be worked out. But with places with reasonable prices and better food in the vicinity, I hope they can reestablish itself. Pros: - Good beer menu. - Nice open patio. Cons: - Food is very mediocre at best. We tried the Sampler, which included 6 onion rings, a small handful of cheese curds and 2 mozzarella sticks (halved). For $11, we expected more of a healthy serving. Bone in wings were good- I would like to try the dry rub option. We had the Asian Sesame which was a little sweet rather than spicy. Their burgers are frozen, which not much taste/seasoning to them. Other than the wings, not sure i would give the food another go. We sat back wondering what we spent about $50 on. - Slower service.

Maybe 5 stars is overdoing it, but I cannot give 4.5 as I'd like. Our original intention was to have the fish, then we both decided to have something else. Brother had the Cajun burger, and reports it actually had spice, unlike other so-called Cajun burgers. I had the crispy chicken parmesan sandwich on a ciabatta roll, and I upgraded to fries, rather than Panther Chips. Everything was excellent. Service was prompt and polite. No complaints!

I went to the Panther Pub in late August, and had a pretty solid burger. My second trip was a disappointment, to say the least. The wait staff were taking people to their tables, and my waitress was unfriendly from the start. The place was nearly empty at 5pm on a Saturday, so that should have tipped me off. Still, I ordered a beer and one of their chicken sandwiches. The beer was fresh, but the meal was not. The chicken sandwich had two undercooked pieces of bacon on it, and it tasted like the chicken had been run through a microwave (as far as I could tell.) This was not a chicken breast, mind you. This was supposed to be bits of chicken, in a BBQ sauce. It was room temperature, fatty, and (to me) inedible. After two bites, I had to stop. When my waitress came back to the table, I told her that I would just like the bill, because the sandwich was not good. I didn't say that I wanted a refund on the food. Without saying a word, she took my plate and walked away. When she came back, she handed me my bill and said "I took the sandwich off your bill." and she started to walk away! I stopped her and explained that I didn't ask for a refund, I just wanted someone to know that it was not a good sandwich. She replied "When I return something that hasn't been eaten, it's going to come off the bill." and she walked away again! There was no apology, and aside from the refund, no effort to make me feel like I should give this place another try.
