Tried again; Had the Fried Chicken Bucket and Full Rib Dinner. The sides are not great, not bad. I am done with the bbq, but will repeat the chicken. I will try the breakfast sometime.... It looks interesting.

Not good. Brisket was about 35% fat. Ribs tough and chewy. Beef ribs almost inedible. Hot links not bad. Sauces were terrible. VERY disappointed. Don't know how it can be a Bartolotta restaurant.

I was going to go to LD's for smoked ribs and I remembered this place. I was shopping in the area and I would grab some it go. When you pull up and don't smell smoke in the air there is always a problem. When you are inside and smell no smoke it's always a problem. I phoned in my order for a 1/2 rack meal and I thought he asked me what I wanted for sides so I had Mac and greens and he said $17.45 when the menu says $13.95, when he said sides I thought it came with two. Sides imply more than one and he should have said what side will you have. I explained to him I miss under stood what he asked me and I don't want the greens. When I finally got home to eat my lunch I looked to see what I had, see my pictures. I already see a problem because there is no smoke ring that authentic smoked meats have. The texture of the meat looked all wrong also, it looks steamed or boiled. See my up close look at the single end of the rib. The meal was a 1/2 rack of baby back, corn bread, cole slaw, Mac and sauce. I started with the Mac and noticed not much cheese flavor and a little on the bland side. I just made a Vermont cheese Mac with panko at home a week ago that had great cheese flavor so how could this restaurant put out such a poor quality Mac. The corn bread was dry. The slaw was good. The first bite of the ribs I noticed no real smoke flavor and a tomato/cracked pepper glaze. The ribs were tender and moist like they were steamed or boiled and lacked the texture of a true smoked rib. This is not a good example of true wood smoked ribs. The ribs were not awful but they were not what I thought I was getting. My final thoughts is that this is not my idea of good smoked BBQ and It's a bit pricey for average food. The ribs looked and smelled better than they were.

The meat has a prominent but clean smokiness. We thought the brisket, both chicken preparations and the corn bread were very good. My greens were very good. Onions OK. We will be back. The menu changed recently and I was disappointed that I could not enjoy the beef ribs.

Had a taste for BBQ so I thought of Miss Beverly's. We ordered carry out - 1/2 rack of ribs, pulled pork sandwich and beef brisket sandwich. Sides that we chose- mac and cheese, baked beans and mashed sweet potatoes. The only thing that was great about the meal was the mac and cheese, it was seriously amazing. I would order that again and maybe just that. The ribs, pulled pork and beans were just ok. The beef brisket was just meh. The mashed sweet potatoes were awful. It actually tasted like dish soap had been mixed in. Not good. We also got a Rice Krispie treat and it was very dry. I was disappointed since my previous visit a few months ago was much better. I would love to see this place do well but the meals were just too expensive to be just ok and so inconsistent with the quality of the food from my last visit.

Good BBQ, Sunday Brunch 9am -2pm. Brisket was smokey and rubbed right. Not too fatty not too lean, served warm. Very good!

This place was shockingly bad , the fact that this is a Bartoltta restaurant made it worse . I will never go back !

I feel weird writing a negative review for a Bartolotta Restaurant. I usually have wonderful experiences and feel that their food, across the board, is some of the best in Milwaukee. My first visit to Miss Beverly's Deluxe Barbeque did not live up to that history. I had the Two Meat Combo with Pulled Pork and Brisket. I chose Corn Pudding as my side. The Pork was dry and without much smoke or flavor. It was better when I put the sauce from the table on it, but good BBQ shouldn't need extra sauce. The Brisket had better flavor and smoke, but was fatty and had no Bark. My Corn Pudding was really just another form of Corn Bread. It was dry and not at all like the almost Souffle' Corn Puddings I've had other places. Another odd thing was that their Iced Tea came from a dispenser, I would think that a Bartolotta place could make their own Tea. The best Bite I had the whole meal was a Rib I stole from my friend. If I ever go back, I'll order the Ribs. They are wheelchair accessible. They are an order at the counter place, so service is difficult to judge, but the staff was friendly and helpful.

Was excited to see another Bartolotta join on my side of town... but sad it doesn't live up to the expectations of their other places. Place is cute. Love the casual BBQ joint décor; I just returned from Memphis and it reminds me of places there but nicer/cleaner. Chairs though were freezing.. it's a brisk fall day and it was rough when we first sat down. Can't imagine how that would feel in winter!... brrr!! Also there's 2 TV's to get your sports fix so husband was happy. Prices are kind of high for the casual atmosphere. It's a order at counter and sit down kind of joint. Husband got the combo w/brisket and pulled pork. Both meats were really dried out. The sauces on the table were cute and all were very good and helped but he was sad to have to coat the meat in sauce to make it edible. As with many other Bartolotta restaurants, vegetarian options are lacking so I have to stick with sides. Had the cole slaw, onion rings, mac n cheese. All were good, but not a great meal. Just didn't feel like overpaying for a salad minus the meat but I probably should have! Small selection of beers and great variety of bottled soda and fountain drinks. A couple desserts, we didn't try. Hoping they are still working out the kinks and will improve, place has great potential!

Miss Beverly's Deluxe Barbeque officially opened this past Friday. I was lucky enough to be invited to a preview dinner the Tuesday prior, however, so Yelptern Brit G and I ventured the mere 15 minutes or so down to Greendale to check the place out... because BBQ! Miss Beverly's is located right next door to Joey Gerard's, and while I don't know who Miss Beverly is, but I can tell you one thing: the lady knows. her. sides. (More on this later... give it a paragraph or two for context, dear readers.) This casual-upscale barbeque joint is set up similarly to a Panera Bread; you'll order at the counter and be given a number. You're in charge of your own adventure when it comes to seating, and soon thereafter, voila! Delicious barbeque in the form of your particular and specified order will be delivered straight to your face by one of Bev's many smiling staff members. (FYI: This Bartolotta joint is less of a Bartolotta joint in the way old schoolers think of them. Miss B's is affordable and accessible and casual, yet there's still an apparent attention to detail in the ways you'd expect from any Bartolotta joint... solid service, cleanliness, and offerings.) Portions are generous and plates are served with cornbread, coleslaw, and your choice of side. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, fried chicken... the offerings insofar as protein are varied and interesting. Since Brit and I wanted to try as many different offerings as we could, she went w/ the brisket and I the fried chicken. We also sampled mac 'n cheese, cornbread, coleslaw, potato salad and sweet potatoes. A few takeaways: the sides were all downright fantastic. The coleslaw, though creamier than I generally like, was fab with a specific tartness. The potato salad was also lovely, it was the kind you'd like to take a vat of to a picnic. The cornbread was dense and sweet without being too cake-like. The mac 'n cheese was rich and round in flavor, not one dimensional at all (could've been bound a bit better, but who am I to hate on already delicious mac?) The sliced sweet potatoes were candied with nuts and also delicious. Basically, the sides? Winners winners winers, all the way around. ... and onto my chicken dinner, which was solid. This wasn't mind blowing fried chicken, but it was good. Though a touch too greasy on the dark meat and a touch too dry on the white, I'd order it again for sure after they've settled into their groove a bit. The brisket wasn't so much to mine or Brit's liking however; we both found it to be far too fatty. (Hopefully they can dial that in soon!) Parking is easy in the lot adjacent to the building and the price points seem appropriate for what you receive for your money. All in all, I really like Miss Beverly's and wish it was closer to the city proper... I'd swing in just for those sides all the freaking time! I'm looking forward to trying their pulled pork one of these days as well. For a solid, accessible and casual BBQ experience, give Miss Bev's a whirl! I don't think you'll be disappointed. :)

It's summer and no surprise I've been on a BBQ streak. I just had to check this place out once it was open to try all the delicious meats and sides...so of course we had to order Bev's combo. Holy moly is this a lot of food - 2 pieces of cornbread, two sides of coleslaw, and choice of two additional sides (we opted for the sweet potatoes and the mac and cheese) - and for the meats it came with pulled pork, beef brisket, 1/4 chicken, very large hot link, 1 beef rib and 1/4 slab of ribs (choice of baby back or st. louis - we went with baby back). Here's the breakdown... Sides: I absolutely loved the cornbread and the mac and cheese - the cornbread had an awesome crust - very crispy top and soft in the middle. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy - the hubby even liked the bread crumbs which he never likes. The coleslaw was okay - not as creamy as I like, a bit watery. The sweet potatoes were good, not one of my favorite sides ever, but nice that it had walnuts mixed in and was not mashed, but sliced. Meats: Pulled pork was my least favorite, alright for an average pulled pork, nothing special about it that made me think twice about it. Chicken was surprisingly good, it had a very nice amount of smoked flavor, slightly dry, but absorbed the bbq sauce and was perfect. Hot Link was slightly fatty, but not so much that I was turned off, it had that awesome natural casing crunch and was oh so flavorful. Brisket was also slightly fattier than I'm accustomed to for brisket, which seems weird to say, but it was almost too well marbled, hmm. But it was juicy and it would do if i had a craving for some brisket Baby Back Ribs were good, but i wish they hadn't smoked them with such a sweet sauce - tasted like a really sweet kansas style bbq sauce, which I typically enjoy, but i wanted a little heat or something else with it - otherwise it was very tender and fell right off the bone. Beef Rib - my favorite, so tender and delicious. Sauces: Bev's House - Alright, nothing special - can't remember too much of this sauce. Sweet and Tangy - A thick Kansas Style sweet BBQ sauce - I like Kansas style, but this was too sweet for me. House on Fire - Mild in heat but good flavor. Miss Carolina - Just as it sounds a Carolina vinegar style. I mixed the house on fire with the miss carolina to get a sauce I really enjoyed. Overall I think this is a great BBQ joint - clearly a Bartolotta, but a relaxed type which is nice. I would definitely visit again!

I would have posted this yesterday, but my husband and I were in a food coma after all the delicious food we had here last night. My husband and I are a huge fan of the Bartolotta restaurants, and Miss Beverly's was no exception. We went early on an arctic Monday night, and were the only couple in the restaurant (it was 5pm; I'm an early bird!). We decided to split the Heavy Bevy after the young man working the counter (Marc?) recommended it as a great option to try a lot of stars on the menu. The Heavy Bevy had two hot links, two beef ribs, a 1/3 rack of baby backs, pulled pork, brisket, and four pieces of fried chicken ( you can choose fried or the BBQ). It also comes with coleslaw, corn bread, and two sides of your choice, for which we picked the sweet potatoes and mac n cheese. Here is a rundown of everything: - The hot links were amazing, and I am not a huge sausage fan. It was smoky and had a charred outside. It was my favorite thing on the plate. - The ribs were tender, and had a delicious rub. I have never been a big fan of beef ribs but these were so flavorful and tender. Same with the baby backs. Sometimes you can tell ribs are boiled because they are fall off the bone but also tasteless. Not so with these ribs. They were tender, and so smoky-delicious, something that can only be achieved by low and slow treatment . -Fried chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It was easily the best fried chicken I have had in Milwaukee. - Pulled pork and brisket was smoky, tender delicious. Also, huge portions. - Mac n cheese was cheesy with a bit of bread crumbs for texture. - Sweet potatoes were a mixed review. I loved them, my husband was on the fence. They were really light and airy, closer to a purée than a mash. They had some pecans and something sweet mixed in with them. - Coleslaw was ok, but I'm kind of hard to please in this area. My husband liked it fine. - Cornbread was good; more traditional, which is what I grew up with having a southern dad. Not overly sweet, and a coarse crumb. The decor is southern casual and blues music played in the background. Once you order at the counter, you get a number, grab your own supplies from a counter (silverware, ketchup, fountain drinks, etc.) grab a table and wait for a smorgasbord of yum. The staff was really nice and attentive. Another couple came in while we were there and we struck up a conversation with them. The lady tried the BBQ chicken and thought it was awesome. Her table mate had the ribs and was very happy with them. I would absolutely return here when I'm craving good BBQ... And then stop at Joey Gerard's next door and connected for an after dinner ice cream drink. :)

I like my brisket rubbed with salt and pepper and moist. This $18 brisket was very sweet and dry. Greens are fantastic and corn bread is OK. Carolina sauce was my favorite.

Food was average. I would not go out of my way to come back but if someone wanted to come here for lunch or dinner I'd go. Prices are little high. Casual atmosphere. Friendly service. You order at register and food is brought to you at the table. Ordered half rack of ribs- half of it was fatty. 4 different sauces to choose from sitting on the table. Kids menu available. Parking available in front of restaurant or behind in parking lot.

I've always wondered why such a great ethnic food town like Milwaukee had such a paucity of BBQ joints? Well I'm glad to report that there is a new place to add to the short list. Miss Beverly's BBQ recently opened in Greendale. It's a bigger and far more upscale experience than a typical storefront BBQ that are more common in the metro area. The furniture and fixtures are new and somewhat contemporary but like a classic BBQ, it's counter service and a short menu. Ribs, brisket, chicken, pulled pork and smokey links are the whole protein side of the menu and the sides are the classic smoke house standards. We went with the Bev's combo which included a sampling of all the meats with cole slaw, corn bread and a choice of two sides; for those we went with the baked beans and house made potato salad. The quality and flavor of the meats was superb. The chicken was moist and smokey having been brined and slow cooked to perfection. The single beef rib was Texas style with a piquant mop and simple seasoning. It was a touch on the dry side and rather light on meat. The pork ribs were nearly fall off the bone tender and done in the St. Louis style with sauce applied and then charred. They could have used some more char, in my opinion, but they were solid in both flavor and texture. The smokey link was more in the finer grind category along the lines of a Polish sausage in texture with a notable hint of coriander; very nice with a crisp casing but a touch on the rich side in terms of fat content. Yes, I know the fat keeps them moist during smoking but it was maybe a little more than other smoke house sausages I've sampled. The sides were a little less impressive. The slaw was very standard lightly dressed variety and the cornbread was dry but in fairness, all cornbread is dry to me. The beans could have used more seasoning and were a little sweet for my taste. The potato salad was solid house made type with a creamy consistency and nice chunkiness that went well with the meats. This is a solid BBQ joint. It's more upscale than most and has an interesting fusion of BBQ styles and flavors. My modest criticisms would be the sides were lacking the real character that often make a BBQ place notable and I thought the servings were a tad small relative to the $33 price tag on the sampler plate.

We tried carryout from here on Sunday and it was disappointing. We tried the baby back ribs, brisket and pulled pork along with sweet potatoes and Mac n cheese. The sides were decent. The sweet potatoes had pecans which were tasty. The meats were bland and didn't have any of the smoky flavor that's the mark of good barbecue. The ribs were ok, the pulled pork was average at best , but the brisket was the worst. It had no character and not even barbecue sauce could save it
(2)Rod R.
We tried the Saint Louis ribs and barbecue chicken. Both were very tasty. The side orders are okay, the Mac & cheese is a must have. Portions were not skimpy. Would go back.
(4)Alec G.
High quality and generous portions. Some of the best Barbecue I've had in a long time. However the prices were on the higher end compared to most other barbecue places. Demetrius, I think his name was, was very helpful and friendly along with the rest of the staff. Overall, food quality 5/5, but the thing that will keep me from coming back is the price.

The Bartolotta Group has come up short in Greendale. As their website says, "Miss Beverly's cooks its meats in a smoker and finishes them off in an infrared broiler, which gives them a slightly charred outside and seals in the smoky flavor." Sounds great on paper, works out horribly in real life. The meats came out hot from the broiler, the grease was still sizzling on the brisket. I couldn't discern any smoke flavor in any of the 3 meats I tried (ribs, brisket pulled pork). Overall It's a pretty disturbing if you are a true BBQ aficionado. The only part that was true from the blurb on the website was that the ribs were charred on the outside. Their sauces were average at best. Their "House on Fire" should be renamed "Liar Liar" as it lacks heat. Stick with Bev's House or their Carolina Style if you like mustard based sauce. My sides varied, the cole slaw is average at best. The mac n cheese was the highlight. I have a general rule of BBQ joints, if the sides are better than the meat -don't repeat.
(2)Dan S.
I eat bbq all over Milwaukee and other areas. This place needs some work. First the prices are way too high. I will admit the sauces were good though. All true bbq places have rib tips, but not here. Real bbq experiences are seeking the smoker and the smoke cooking your food. Just too classy here behind closed doors. Also portions of side were small. Bbq is not about being neat. The portions should be full
(2)Peter S.
Ok, for starters I am a bbq freak. And when my wife and I saw that the Bartolottas were opening a bbq place we were excited. The prices are very reasonable, but the food was a huge disappointment. The house bbq sauces were all just vinegar heavy. My wife ordered the pulled pork and was disappointed by the fatty chunks that were littered throughout the order. The macaroni and cheese was average. I ordered the 2 meat combo with a 1/3 rack if ribs and brisket. The rub on the ribs was pretty good and they were cooked well (I prefer a little more smoke flavor, but they were still good). The brisket was tough, dry and had a thick layer of fat on it. Overall it was very disappointing.
(1)Nathan V.
Nope. Very Disappointing. Very expensive. Brisket was terrible, fatty & cold. Really bad.
(1)Bill P.
Great experience. My wife & I went in on a Saturday eve and were eating within 20 minutes I had ribs and tater tots. My wife had pulled pork and mac & cheese. The meats were superb, as were the sides. The staff were excellent. I'm a huge Bartolota restaurant fan and this one was great, as expected. It's much more casual than the others, although I would not have felt out of place if I had worn a sportcoat, instead of jeans and a sweatshirt. There was a variety of p eople there and I don't think anyone will feel out of place. Give it a try, I'll be back often.

Visit this past Friday 10/31....this was my me and wife's first venture to Miss Beverlys and we were very excited. That is until we walked in the door and saw the few people that were at tables, with their winter coats on. It was immediately apparent that there was a heating problem. I didn't see a thermometer but it seemed like the temperature was in the mid 50s...inside! The staff at the ordering desk had a difficult time answering our questions about the menu which seemed odd as I know the restaurant has been opened since the summer and it is not a huge menu? I ordered a pulled pork sandwich after finally determining that a barbecue chicken sandwich is only available during lunch...no one knew why, and my wife ordered a salad. The food was good but it was so damn cold we ate and were gone in 12 minutes after the food arrived. I have never been disappointed by a Bartolottas restaurant before...I am hoping this is not a sign that the company is spreading itself thin and not adhering to its otherwise high standards? We will give the place another try but It will not be before the warmth of the summer of 2015.
(2)Todd W.
Beef ribs are fatty, pork ribs have very little meat and were tuff, corn bread is dry, BBQ sauce was not available at every table so I had to wait for it. No wet naps, probably because they might taste better than the food?
(2)Steve O.
Got the Heavy Bevy as my first taste of the place (wanted extra food for the weekend), took it to go but the atmosphere was more inviting than I imagined. Grabbed a bunch of extra sauces before leaving, I guess I'm just used to drenching BBQ dishes from other places in sauce. Got home and assembled a plate with a mix of everything, sat down, it definitely smelled delicious, took a bite and WOW!!! The flavor was incredible!!! Without a doubt the best BBQ I can remember. Everything was tender and juicy too, they did a great job. I only ended up using some of the sauces just to try them, but the food did not need any of it, it was that good. Turns out they use real wood in their grills/smokers and you can really taste it, this is the flavor I've been dreaming about when I'm cooking. I don't know why this place isn't 5 stars all the way. Most of those bad reviews are from when they first opened last summer. Give them a minute to get settled people! Awesome place, awesome food, worth every penny!
(5)Paul P.
Very good food, little on the pricey side for a casual family place...$60ish for 2 adults and 3 kids. Kids all had kids meals. Tater tots are great!

I tried Miss Beverly's earlier this evening and was pretty underwhelmed. I ordered for carry out at the restaurant, which seemed like a decent enough place had I chosen to dine in. Waitstaff was friendly as well. I ordered the two meat combo, choosing to go with the 1/4 rack baby back ribs, and the beef brisket. That also comes with coleslaw, cornbread and your choice of a side - I chose the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese had a good flavor, yet the noodles had a chew like they were undercooked. The cornbread was pretty dry and it seemed like it had been prepared much earlier in the day or had been sitting for a few hours. The coleslaw was insanely SALTY and I didn't even finish more than a second forkful. Salty coleslaw? Really? All the meat on the menu claims to be slow-smoked but I tasted very little to no smoke on the brisket and there was no ring to indicate it as such either. Just a flat, dull brown. The rub was fair, but the brisket was on the drier side. Served on a slice of wonder bread. Was much better drenched with their house sauce which seemed to have a little bit of chili powder inspiration to it which was interesting, however I don't necessarily care for having to drench my meat in sauce just to enjoy it. The ribs had a decent smoke flavor and a nice bit of sauce glaze, but the meat was like leather. Dry and tough to chew. Pretty disappointed in this one. I don't know if this place is going through some growing pains being a newer restaurant or not, but in my opinion they've got a bit of work to do. I'll be searching elsewhere for my slow smoked BBQ fix for now.

I was excited to try Miss Beverly's for 2 reasons: style and group reputation. I will say that the decor is kind of cool, but the place had 4 diners in it (12-23-14) and was very cold(temperature). We ordered the Heavy Bevy which was the huge sampler platter. First for the good...The sauces were all tasty and complemented the meats. The 2 spicier ones were our favorites. The cornbread was good. The hotlinks had enough spice and the nice casing crunch when you snap into them. The sub-par parts of the meal were the brisket, the chicken, the ribs, and the lower 2/3 of the macaroni and cheese. The brisket was extremely fatty and not appealing. The chicken looked appealing, but was very dry and unappetizing. The ribs were very ordinary and chewy. The top of the mac and cheese was great, but the rest of it needed the breadcrumbs. On top of all of this, the food was cold within 6-8 minutes. This was partially because of what we ordered, but we've had similar combos at other bbq joints and they hold their temperature. The pork shoulder was fine. We felt that the $50 we spent was too much for the taste and quality of the main meat items we looked forward to. We were definitely disappointed.
(2)Rick H.
Tried the Rueben today - and it was delicious. I have never had a Rueben with so much smoke flavor to it - loved it. I do miss the tater tots with the lunch specials, but was still very happy with my meal. It seems as if they are getting more consistent with the quality of their food. I haven't had a meal from here that I haven't liked in a few months now - (I probably average 2 times a week - just because it is very convenient for me, location wise). As I mentioned in my other reviews - which apparently don't count towards their ratings for some reason, this restaurant continues to improve and I actually liked it better than the smoke shack in the 3rd ward.
(5)Amy A.
Miss Beverly's does a few things very well. Brisket - holy perfectly smoked Batman! Just the right fat to meat ration as well. This is a definite shining star. The hot links were very tasty as well. They had the right toothy skin and a just right heat to the sausage meat (hey that rhymes!), which was just a touch more fine than a coarse grind. They were another shining star. Can we talk about the tator tots? (Why doesn't spell check recognizing 'tator' as a word, I have red lines!?) O.M.G. freshly fried NOT baked and the perfect foil with the brisket. The baby back ribs also had a lovely smoke to them and were more smoked or slowed and lowed than any other rib in MKE that I have had. That being said, they lack meat - musta been some skinny pigs. The corn bread is sweet, moist, and cakey. It longs for some honey to enhance that sweetness or one of the BBQ sauces to complement it. It is what I think of as "Northern" cornbread. The "OK" items were the mac and cheese, cole slaw, and pulled pork. The mac and cheese might as well have been Velveeta - it lacked depth and seasoning. I threw some BBQ sauce on it and that helped quite a bit. But I don't want BBQ mac and cheese, I want tangy with maybe a little heat mac and cheese. I compare all cole slaw to the old Smith Bros Port Washington recipe. Which is the standard in my opinion. This paled in comparison. Again lacking depth and seasoning. Some celery seed would be the perfect addition. And finally the OK pulled pork. I cannot say that any pulled pork anywhere has knocked my socks off and this was no different. I mean, I have had BAD pulled pork but never anything that made me weep for joy (and I have tried my fair share from sea to shining sea). This is no different. I would order the pork again and make sure I have my favorite BBS sauce to slather on it. BBQ sauces - all were good. Carolina was a vinegar-mustard type. My nephew from No Carolina thought it tasted 'funny'. But everyone else liked it. He liked the Sweet and Tangy which is as "midwestern" of a sauce as you can get. It was not too sweet though, which was a pleasant surprise. Miss Beverly's has a very soft heat to it and it was my personal favorite. Being a chicken, I did not try the Fire BBQ sauce. So you are on your own with that one. I think all of the sauces were tasty and I would be happy with all of them at home in my fridge. They have some interesting beverage selections as well. Of course there is Luzianne sweet and unsweet tea - a southern staple. But they have Cheerwine as well. There are some other specialty bottled soft drinks, standard fountain coca, and beer. The atmosphere is imitating a low rent BBQ shack but is modern and clean (read not much personality). One other reviewer mentioned how cold it was and the thermostat was set at 68. We were fine, but I can see how others would be cold so as your mom says, 'bring a sweater.' Finally I have to mention the price. They ain't shy that is for certain. (2) two combo plates and (2) soft drinks were $45. I think that the food was good, but I would be a more frequent visitor if that bill came in under $40 for the same food. At least is it quick serve so there was no tip adding to the bill. (I did debate about tipping, but you grab your own utensils, beverages, even to-go containers, so...no.) TL;DR has some very good offerings and some so-so ones. The BBQ sauces shine. A little pricey for the bare bones atmosphere.
(4)Mark R.
Ribs were freezer burnt. Sent them back and asked for sausage as a replacement, sausage came out cold in the center. Manager stuck his finger in the sausage to check if it was cold at my table. Enough said.
(1)Maria M.
Was very disappointed. Hoping it would be better than it was. Ordered 3 meat combo (very expensive) brisket, beef rib and baby back ribs. Beef rib had really good flavor but no meat on this giant bone and no smoke flavor. Brisket was tender but fatty also with no smoke flavor, ribs were tasty, but NO smoke flavor. Sweet potato side was swimming in butter, not very pleasant. Mac & cheese was nothing special, tasted like Velveeta with done bread crumbs on the top. Cole slaw was not very creamy and kind of warm. Corn pudding was boring and tasteless. Just not enough meat on the bones of the beef ribs, was just like I got the beef bone and no meat. My husband had the broasted chicken and he really couldn't figure out what part of the chicken be was eating. Not very good. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! So sad, I was hoping for better, it being a bartolotta restaurant and all. Oh well, what can ya do?!

Had the two meat combo tonight. Brisket and baby back ribs with a side of mac & cheese. Unfortunately best part of the meal was the mac!. Brisket while moist, had no smoke flavor or char. Ribs as well with no smoke flavor, no spices used to create a bark on the outside of the rib. Overall a very bland offering. Have been smoking myself for the last 3 yrs and have far superior results on my Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker. Looking for true Q, try Bishops BBQ in Muskego.

Very disappointed. After reading a good review in the Shepherd Express and knowing this was a Bartolotta restaurant, I decided to stop by this evening. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich to go. When I placed the order, I had to remind the cashier that a second side was also included. I think he might need a little more training. After I received the order, I went home. I did not get the sandwich I ordered. Instead there was a beef brisket sandwich thick with globs of fat and tough meat. The macaroni and cheese side was dry; the coleslaw okay. I must say I was surprised. I will not be returning to this restaurant again which is too bad since I live about 10 minutes from Greendale.

Very disappointing BBQ. The brisket, while very tender, was fatty and had little flavor. The pulled pork was average at best, nothing to write home about. The sauces are bland, no spice at all. The sweet potato side was good but very sweet, we saved it for desert.

Based on the other reviews it's hit or miss depending on the cook that night. Came in on a friday night and ordered the two meat combo- ribs and brisket. Very little meat on the ribs and the brisket was very dry. Mac and cheese was nothing special and noodles were undercooked. Cornbread was greasy and not flavorful at all. The sauces also did not measure up. Overall, a very disappointing meal. Best BBQ in my opinion is the Milwaukee smokehouse and the smoke shack in that order.
