Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
So THIS LOCATION is horrible. The last time we were there, the food and service was bad! We were brought dirty napkins and she tried to put the dirty side down so we wouldn't know. we had to keep asking for things and she kept forgettingand some stuff like more ketchup we never got, then my niece found a hair in her food, I found fruit flies in my drink and they didn't want to do much about it any of it. If you want applebees ONLY good one to go to is the 2865 S 108th St in West Allis, WI 53227 we haven't been back so the southridge one since.

Took 25 minutes to get my food and it was cold! The waitress was nice but she screwed up 3 thing on my order! Too bad, the food is good but I can eat cold food at home. My time is too precious.

Lately Applebee's has either been hit or miss. There have been times we've gone there that the food has been excellent. Most others, soggy and often missing something. (I order the three cheese chicken penne which is supposed to come with a bread stick, 90% of the time they tell me they're out of bread. Like, what?) Service is also something that is left to be desired. Some waiters are good, most bad. I can't remember a single one that was above and beyond. And this isn't necessarily their fault but the atmosphere I feel is something that caters to drunk 20 somethings, it is always loud in there! Overall a below average experience, and only ever going there late at night when there are no other options.

This is one of the late night options in my area so my girlfriend and I have been here quite a few times, and again tonight. I love the late night app price and you get a ton of food on the sampler. The atmosphere is so so.. I prefer a quiet place and there's a lot of groups that go here that can get loud, but oh well. The overall experience tonight was okay. My main criticism of this place is the overall service. Many times we've come here and had extremely long waits for food, to go boxes, check, refills etc. The general server attentiveness is not good. Occasionally they've told us they've run out of items like garlic bread or appetizers. Tonight our waiter was okay, though it took a while to get the check. Overall, the food is almost always good but the service is lacking.

It took over 10 minutes to be acknowledged. There were at least 5 employees just sitting, chit chatting, and on their phones. The manager was no where to be seen at all. This location needs to be revamped with new staff. Every time we go it's a let down. We like the food but because the management sucks it stops us from going more often.

The food was mediocre, you can tell that the chicken breast was frozen and the rice was probably minute rice. The table was sticky, like every other time I have gone there. Just a suggestion; next time use a clean rag and disinfectant to wash the tables down, don't use the same rag that you wipe the sticky bar down with. But on the upside, our waitress Jessica D was really great and did her job of upselling the menu to us. We had a good laugh with our waitress, which was about the only thing that made the visit good. We went for lunch and noticed that the place was pretty empty for lunch considering the number of businesses around the area. It was also a Monday but you should still have more people there at lunch time. It seems to me that they are just getting by because of the Applebee's name. If this was an independent restaurant it probably wouldn't be open for too long.

I wish I could go lower then this. Food came frozen in the middle. And and our appetizers came after the meal was served. The staff there is ghetto. And the bartenders can't even tap beer right.

People are pretty harsh! It's Applebee's. Franchised American fare. The service has always been decent for me. The menu is the same everywhere and the food is consistent at every location. It isn't going to be the best food in the world, but for $10 an a quick bite to eat, it's on par with its competition.

When my husband and I want to go out for cheap drinks, this is a go-to place for us (and the fact that it's 5 min from our house is nice, too!). $1.99 Long Islands and Bahama Mamas, $2.99 margaritas. For the price, the drinks are tasty and well made. The bartending staff is very nice and will actually make conversation with you. Be advised, though: once it hits 10pm, the music totally changes, and then it becomes Club Applebee's. We discovered this one night, and as we were leaving, my husband said that he felt like he was hanging out in a high school cafeteria. So now we make sure to be out of there by 10pm. As far as the food goes, it's not bad. One of my standards there is the chicken fingers platter. It comes with French fries, cole slaw, and a side of honey dijon mustard. Mmmm. For an appetizer, I would highly recommend the Brew Pub Pretzels & Beer Cheese dip. Amazing!

The food is pretty decent but they are overpriced on a lot of their items. I have been to this Applebee's a few times and I have always received good service. The wait for your waitress / waiter to take your order is not long and the wait for them to bring your food out is acceptable. I will continue coming back here but will be careful as to what I order to avoid overpriced items.

Slow day and service sucks. Took forever for our waitress to come acknowledge us. Me and my son went to use the restroom and still no waitress. Appetizers came out but no utensils to eat with. Then I ask a random staff and she went and got a manager instead of just getting us some forks. Second time experiencing poor service with Applebee's. Never gonna eat at one again.

Been here many times, but tonight we came for the $6.99 Monday Burger special. The menu seems to improve each visit and the food is usually hot and quite good and tasty. Cowboy Burger was very good and the homemade chips were made just to my liking. Though our food took what seemed a lengthy time to wait for, it was worth it. Refills were no problem either. Service was decent, the place was clean, as were the restrooms. Future visits to this location are much assured.

On a visit (07/09/2015) with family had an "okay" expierence... Food was decent at best, but nothing to write home about. It was after our dinner that the "fun" began... After we got the reciept and "paid" our bill and had walked out the waitress / server comes running out behind us calling us and repeatedly stating we had taken the reciept and NOT paid our bill. My wife and I looked puzzled cause we were only out the door 30 or so seconds. I explained we left merchant copy in the black bi-fold book as wife verified she did not grab it with our copy. I walked back in with the server who repeatedly stated another server had cleared table, and again stated we hadn't paid our bill. As our original server goes in back to see and get the manager, and I'm left standing at the end of bar, short talking to other servers, when after a minute or two I and another server notice an upside down reciept on the floor in the public walk area. I reached over and BAM!!! It's our reciept. I at this point am a bit upset due to the "loose" accusation of being "dining and ditching" people. The other server basically went into back to get our server so they could be given the reciept THEY left of the floor in public view and where anyone could have taken it. I asked and stated I'd like to see the manager but was told he/she was busy. I made a comment to our server and an additional server how I WAS DISAPPOINTED in the careless and laid back attitude they had and were saying when it comes to accusations of nonpaying and the CARELESSNESS with customer credit and reciept security. I know there is little or no info usable on the reciept, but it's the "what if" issue. I will NOT return to this Applebees... I know it's not a major issue, but feel when a customers reciept is so freely and carelessly dealt with, what else can happen? what else are they doing? Is it they don't care? Improperly trained and managed. When they take a customers credit card is taken from them?? are they leaving it (yhe credit card) out as they did the reciept? Where someone could get vital info off it? Or is it common practice and in this day and age of identity theft and other issues how are they (the resturaunt) protecting me the consumer. I know I know... it's a reach but now I'm a bit concerned especially when I found the reciept where it was... ON THE FLOOR IN A COMPLETELY PUBLIC AREA, Where ANYONE could grab it... Don't think I'll be visiting this location again... Kind of more disappointed no one ever even apologized for the inconvenience and matter...

A mistake that I make is to confuse Applebee's with Chilis. I like the spinach artichoke dip with a side of salsa well enough to get by with eating at these chains. When it arrived and I took a bite and realized my mistake. I'm not at Chilis. It's much better at Chilis. The chips are better, the salsa is way better and the dip itself is leaps above what's served at Applebee's. I need to be better at remembering to avoid Applebee's - this place that I used to love to go. My favorite dishes are mostly gone and whatever is left isn't executed well. The food tastes like it's really really bad for you. So much sodium and fakeness. My French onion soup was better but still not baked long enough. It should come out with a beautiful browned cheesy crusty goodness. Instead it was just soft and white. And why in the world stop promoting the specialty ice cream drinks in the drink menu? Mudslides have always been one good treat here unique to Applebee's. And no sight of any existence anymore, just these cheap crappy "Long Islands". Stupid. I gave an extra star just for Tyrone the bartender who chatted me up while waiting for my car to get done at Firestone across the street. If not for his friendliness it'd be a lone star. To echo everyone else, Applebee's is far from what it used to be. And it never was 5 stars, but it was solid.

My wife and haven't been to Applebee's in a long while, so we decided to stop in. When we walked in we were told it would be about a 15 minute wait while there was a section of empty tables, at least 5. We figured there must not be enough servers. After we were seated we ordered our drinks, the cheap long islands and they came out right away and we're mixed very well. Those drinks are the only reason they got even 2 stars! We ordered the 2 for $25 motzerella sticks for the appetizer the Bourbon Street steak for me (medium rare) and the double crispy shrimp for my wife. We waited and waited for our appetizer and our drinks were empty... 15 to 20 minutes later my wife's shrimp came out and so did our appetizer. I didn't even get to ask the runner where my steak was. Forchently our server noticed the confused look on my face and came over to see what was wrong. He did appoligise and got me my steak right away. As happy as I was to see my steak those feelings were short lived. I cut in to find it was cooked well done not medium rare. My wife had me try one of her fries. It tasted like shrimp, I'm no expert on health codes but I think I heard somewhere that you need to cook selfish in a differnt fryer then the fries. The manager made her rounds and asked how everything was. I let her know about the timing mess up with the appetizer and dinner. My wife also mentioned the fries that tasted like shrimp and she compleated ignored her and continued to talk to me and appoligise about the kitchen mix up. Nothing was offered aside from an I'm sorry. I didn't really expect anything but I was talking to my wife on the way home, if she she saw the empty drink glasses and offered us a drink on the house that could have changed the whole experience. With that my wife and I now know why it's been so long since we have been to Applebee's. I'll go back for cheap drinks any day though. So here's to two stars.

If you want to pay higher prices for mcondalds type food, then go here! Well, it may be a slight step above mcondalds, but it's not a big step. I swear the food they make is microwavable and you can probably find it at the nearest pick n save for less than they price it here. Not to say the prices are bad, but for this kind of food? Hell no. Very bland tasting food, small portions and not to mention that the whole place just makes you feel like you're in high school again with all the high school "memorabilia" on the walls. They fool you with that sizzling thing(idk how they do it) but when you get your food you're ready to throw a sizzling shit back in the waitress' face. This place just seems like a place a typical "never try anything different" type guy would go to. every thursday with his overweight wife. Not to mention the service is awful. Every time I've gone here I have to wait like 15 minutes just for a waitress to come over. There is ONE and I say that, ONE redeeming quality about applebees and that they have 2 dollar long islands and are open until 230. But that one redeeming quality comes with a drawback, the long islands are pre mixed. You can taste it and see it too, long islands shouldn't look like soda at the top. So even when you think you're getting a good deal, they buy their pre-mixed long islands at discount liquor and bank on gullible but eventually disappointed people. They have other relatively cheap drinks too so if you're ever EXTREMELY bored and want a local place to get trashed on the cheap late at night, then go here. But be warned, it's always extremely empty and the people that go in there aren't really the type of people you really want to be hanging out with at 1-230 in the morning most of the times. Also, they severely overprice the beer. So yeah, this place is awful, applebees as a whole place is awful the way they have fooled people into thinking they are anything more than a mcondalds with more variety. But I guess that's the point of advertising.

Applebees has gone drastically down hill since they opened in our area. Food used to be so good and fresh, service was great and the place was packed..... NOT so much anymore. The food is nothing short of disappointing and the service is absolutely terrible. Ordered a steak Medium and it came out rare and kind of frozen in the middle 3 times - YES 3 times!!! How do you screw it up 3 times?! The wait staff spend more time trying to impress each other or hook up vs. waiting on their tables and taking care of customers. Our waiter we just had seemed to have a listening problem because everything we ordered, he brought out the wrong thing. Really? How do they stay in business? We were last there because I had a coupon and I believe it may be the last time ever. Do not see us returning.

It's either hit or miss at this location. A month ago, walked in with kids to meet their Dad for dinner. On the way to the table, the server mumbled loud enough for us to overhear that "she didn't want anymore tables." The hostess was mortified. Of course, I asked to be seated with someone who wanted our money. The server came over shortly and apologized, giving me an unneeded song and dance about what a long day she had at her other job, blah, blah, blah. She proceeded to bend over backward to dig herself out of the negative tip she was going to earn. She did earn an average tip - because she did go out of her way to make up for our unwelcome start. Forward to last night, just about the same greeting again - well - lack of greeting this time. For our party and several parties arriving after me. Our server then proceeded to serve my kids the wrong drink, spill my wine and fail to take care of us throughout the meal. She then charged for the kids drink that we returned and the wine she spilled. Take your chances with this Applebees.

This is not a Neighborhood bar and grill. It's a franchised fast food joint with rather bad food. Very disappointing for me. We went for the 2 for $20 deal and ended up spending $52 on drinks, food, and tip. First off they only give you a choice of 7 things on the 2 for $20 deal. Most consisting of chicken. The only real meat products were the burgers. What kind of deal is a $10 burger? Sounds more like a ripoff. I had the Bacon cheddar burger. I told the waitress I'd like my burger Medium Rare. When the burger came out it was way over cooked, the meat was charred and well down, and the bacon was way to crispy and tasted burned. The only thing good on my plate were the french fries and the lettuce garnish My wife had the Chicken Caesar salad. When I think of salad I think of healthy. When my wife got her salad I thought, "Doesn't the fried chicken on top kinda defeat the purpose of a salad?" It was a romaine salad _smothered_ in caesar dressing with crispy fried chicken on top. Although, my wife said it was tasty, and she's usually pretty fickle. After dinner we had the apple pie. All I have to say is, no wonder there's an obesity problem in America. The pie was huge with a monster scoop of ice cream on top. It was very tasty but even for two people it was a lot. I felt like a pig after I ate half of it. But, the thing that creeped me out the most was the manager. As I watched her move from table to table asking how the food was, she did something odd. When she'd ask people the question, she would nod her head affirmatively. It reminded me of psychological coaching. If you nod affirmatively when asking a question you can trigger an affirmative answer from your subject. Kinda creepy. What are they teaching these people at Applebee's manager training school? All in all, I will not be heading back to any of the Applebees locations anytime soon, but I had to give it two stars instead of one because my wife's dish and the pie were both good.

Hostess was very unhappy and showed how much she hated her job. Tables throughout the place were empty and she had people waiting 20 minutes. Front Manager was useless, Could not explain why the hostess was holding people. Manager had no clue how to do her job, Food was luke warm and discolored. And the best part the Manager delivered them to the table. And food was poor. NEVER going to another Applebee's EVER. Training of staff on the floor and the kitchen is non existence. Do not waste your money here.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.

Called in for pick up....somehow they couldn't get the order into the kitchen. Waited an extra half hour with a screaming baby. Thanks a lot
