Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

What an outstanding experience in dining. Saw the lady that arrived at 5:00 AM to prepare the home made pasta. The owner visited our table and was very happy we were enjoying our meal. The gnocchi melted in my mouth. The rest of our party had the combo of homemade cheese and meat ravioli and raved about them. Portions were very large and we have enough for another meal. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food and service. I am shocked at the review stating poor food quality. This is definitely not the case here. I had the 8oz tenderloin and king crab. The tenderloin was cooked a perfect medium rare, and had great flavor. For $33 it also came with bread, a side salad, and I picked homemade gnocchi. My boyfriend had the tournedoe steak which was fab, and he picked a side salad, and fettuccine alfredo. The sauce was divine and made from scratch. They make their.pasta from scratch which is awesome. We split some ravioli as an app. We did half meat, and half cheese. The cheese was my favorite. Our bill with with two entrees, and app, and 4 drinks was $86. That was a TON of food!!!! The owner came over to our table to ask how everything was...I always think that is a nice touch. Our server was friendly and on top of it even though the place was packed bc of the holiday weekend.

Fantastic Italian food in area where the competition is strong. I've actually worked here before and I know that owner is personally in the kitchen ensuring that the food quality is nothing less than the best. All of the pasta and sauce is hand made daily. Staff is great also

I haven't been here since the current owners bought the club and I will not recommend this overpriced poor quality of food and service club to anyone. The club is decorated in heavy materials and fabrics attempting to resemble some distinction. While one would not think such high priced eateries would be in this small area, El Capitan caters to the quite wealthy homeowners. We were treating friends and wanted to take them to a nicer place for dinner. Its menu attempts to resemble an Italian faire however, it fails miserably. Our waitress was a cocky young girl who is in dire need of the level of training required to meet the ridiculous pricing on the menu. We ordered drinks and the liquor options were ironically on the cheap side so they are making a good buck off the bar tab. I was shocked to see Mozzarella sticks for $8.95 wow. Our dinners came with a salad which was some cheap lettuce and a few vegetables. Our server didn't bother to present us with the pepper grinder which I saw at other tables. She also got pissed when we wanted her to grate a bit more cheese on our salads. The dressings obviously came from a bottle and the one I had was more like a paste. It was an irony that the dressings came on the side in plastic cups. The description of the pasta dish I selected was chicken, spinach and tomatoes in a light broth sauce at $18.95 (wow for chicken and pasta the cheapest products around). What I was served was a a glop of pasta (it was all stuck together) slopped in the bowl with the sauce and ingredients tossed over it in lieu of mixed together. I couldn't even get the pasta apart. It was overly season with pepper and when I told the waitress all she said was sorry and walked away. She didn't even offer to take it back for a new one. I didn't make a fuss because we were treating our friends to dinner. One of our friends knew one of the other waitresses and I wish we would have been seated in her area after seeing how she treated her customers. Other dishes selected were a Shrimp Alfredo $18.95, which again the stuck together pasta was slopped in the dish with a paste like sauce on top with only a few shrimp over it. The Ravioli dish was tasteless. Frutti di Mare at $27.95 did have a good amount of seafood and crab leg pieces (not normally found in this dish) and is about $6.00 more than what you would normally pay. The waitress became less attentive and pissy after I told her about my meal. In the end with drinks the bill for four was $125.00. The pricing was outrageous for the portion size and quality of food that was served as well as the extremely poor service. I can find an overall better experience elsewhere.

I live in Kansas but every year my family vacations up north and THIS is the one place we have to visit. We end up eating here a few times during our week or two week long visit. The gnocci is incredible and their house salad dressing is delicious. This place is a staple for us and I only wish I could visit it more often.

My gf and I ate at the El Capitan last weekend (Italian entrees) and it was excellent as usual. I have never had better red sauce and their pasta is always homemade and perfectly cooked. The meatballs and sausage are excellent. I consider myself an expert, as I make my own pasta, red sauce(s) and Italian sausage. I've eaten here for over 35 years, and the food and service is always great. Beware of certain reviewers that are obsessed with price and don't care for Italian food...

My food was awful and it's incredibly overpriced. My order was one of the cheapest things, meat and cheese ravs with a meatball and sausage, salad, bread. Items range from $17 to $35 or so. The "deluxe salad" was fine, hard to mess up lettuce. Got my plate, looked great. Tasted the sauce. It was either ketchup or a can of condensed tomato soup. Tried one of each rav. They were very undercooked and the meat wasn't very good. Tried the meatball. It was sickening. Same gross meat in the consistency of playdough. Moved to the sausage. Also made of the bad meat but was at least in an edible form. By now I wasn't eating this at all. Told my waitress it was bad and I was done with it. She stood there in disbelief. I had to explain how I found every bit of it to be bad. Finally she took it away and bugged me the rest of the night about buying something else. Later a manager or someone stopped by and asked if I was the one who didn't like the ravs. I told him ya, they were bad. He said that was the first time he'd ever heard that and walked away. I'll never be back.

I really enjoy the pasta at El Cap. The cheese or meat ravioli are very good. Drink options are adequate but I would stay away from steaks or prime rib. I ordered the Prime rib special one Thursday night. I asked for medium and it came out in a blood bath. Im not a guy who shys away from a rare steak but this was absurd. I sent it back to be cooked a little more and as you'd expect it was boot leather when it returned. If you want to eat pasta El Cap is a good place to check out.
