Perspectives... One is in EAGLE RIVER Wisconsin!!! Where the nearest Starbucks is 90 minutes away in Wausau. Reading the few reviews here leaves one without context to ones choices which include Trigs, Walmart and numerous gas stations. If yelp ratings are a tool for other yelpers to lead decisions then this bakery is a 5 star! Until you have a local comparison (which you don't) then anything else is suspect to poor perspective and obtuse thoughts. As for the bakery... The bread is fresh and sliced to order. The Kringles (cultural phenomenon) are made fresh in house and not prepared in Milwaukee and shipped up like hostess cupcakes. The donuts are soft and fresh. The bakery buns for burgers and hotdogs are soft and fresher then anything you can buy locally. The made to order sandwiches are a nice option to break the monotony of subway and fried food choices. Living in California we have many places to compare this place too ... and id still rate this place 4 stars back home. I just can't get a Kringle anywhere else to compare. Kudos! Bottom line... Great mom and pop bakery!

Popped in before a manicure appt for a coffee and something tasty. What a bummer. Coffee was bad, but I sorta expected that bc the place is Old School. However, the scone was sad. Blueberry scone with icing so I figured it would be great! It wasn't even made with real blueberries! It had those creepy blueberry pellets that come in instant pancake mix. I mean c'mon. You're a BAKERY. I'm sure they are using a mix which is embarrassing.

The bread is the reason to come here, good marble rye and sourdough boule is great. If you ask for slice ...don't slice the boule!... you can request the thin slicer which is more like a proper slice, otherwise the slice is pretty thick imo. The cookies we had were good, but nothing special. Disappointment came with the somewhat pricey birthday cake which was pretty much what any grocery store would offer. Danish pastries were dry with little flavor ... The nearby grocery on the same street has better Danish.

Too much salt in the product. Too many additives. Since the primary population is retirees,(health issues!) one would think the bakery would be made w/that in mind. Nope. Just very average tasting. Usual ingredients. It is the only game in town though.

Best bread in town and the only place to get really good fresh sourdough. Pastries and donuts are great as well. As importantly, the people behind the counter are delightful. Love coming in here.

Really good pastry, bread, and sandwiches. Locally owned bakery have been vanishing for decades, but Eagle Baking Co seems to be going strong. I hope it continues.

Cute little bake shop in Eagle River. Nice selection and friendly staff. We tried an almond cheese danish and found it quite tasty. We'd definitely recommend to others and hope to stop back again ourselves next time we are in Eagle River.
