Awesome place. The desserts were huge and worth every cent. They have an awesome wall of teas. They were very accommodating when I called my order in for 10 people.

I was hoping to give a better review. Maybe it was just an off night? I'll definitely try again in the hopes that they just weren't on their game for whatever reason. *Tablecloth had food on it - perhaps not changed out after lunch? *Soup was flavorful, but lukewarm *My entrée was good - no major issues there I was kind of bummed - expected a lot more based on the other reviews.

An Awesome find! I stumbled upon Cook's Room after another restaurant choice didn't work out. (Thanks Yelp!) I don't normally write reviews but this place is too good to miss. The food was all fantastic! I had the seafood grill special and my wife had the tuna. The ambiance is charming and comfortable. Joe and the staff care and it shows. I only wish I lived locally so I could visit more often. Thanks for a great time!

Here on vacation and best place in town to eat at. Great menu, everyone was happy with what they got. Tri-county dip was a great appetizer. Crab guacamole was best guacamole I've had, highly recommend it. I had the Bourbon Street medley and it was excellent. My wife had the potato crusted tilapia and loved it as well. Service was excellent and the chef even came out and talked to us for a bit. Highly recommend this place, going back in the morning for some coffee.

Great little privately owned, local little restaurant. Casual vibe. Very affable, talented owner/chef. Great service. Creative menu. Prices reasonable. Quality excellent. Now for the wee bit of raised eyebrows. Note who raves about this little jewel on Yelp. Folks from the larger cities. The menu doesn't quite play in Dodgeville. More appeal to the local folks is needed. Tweak the menu just a little. Meat loaf and mashed potatoes, a simple steak offering, a great apple pie and ice cream. Honestly I don't know if it is possible to play to both bigger city and local folks. Winter could be tough. Good luck. Great food!

Nice little coffee shop and restaurant. They serve salads, paninis, and sandwiches. The food was good and the staff was friendly. Probably the best option in Dodgeville for a reasonably healthy meal. Most meals come with chips or a salad. They have a smallish menu with about 20-25 options for meals. Most were $7-9.

This is a cozy little family owned Cafe and Espresso Bar. Dodgeville is located just off Hwy 18 and Hwy 151. It's a nice place to stretch out your legs on your way to Iowa or Madison. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Like any great cafe bar you are encouraged to sit and chat, read or do some work on your computer (free Wi-fi). They also have a lunch menu that begins at 10:30 a.m. and is quite refreshing in Dodgeville, especially if you've had your fill of Mcdonald's or other fast food. My only knock against this place is the acoustics. Sounds reverberate off the walls quite a bit, sometimes it might sound like there are more people in there than there actually are. I encourage anyone to stop and visit this little town and enjoy big flavor at the Cook's Room. If you're just killing time maybe go do some antiquing. Also one of the State's biggest bike trails begins in Dodgeville.

Dined tonight with my wife and two sons, ages 6 and 8. Good service, fantastic food, every dish executed well, from kids Mac and cheese to clam chowder to a wonderful cheese plate. We visit Dodgeville once a year, and this place is now at the top of the list.

I think the actual address is 134 North Iowa St??? I like this place a lot. Needed to be in Dodgeville for one of my clients. Nicely decorated and has a homey feel. Small outside area to eat. Attentive and friendly wait staff. Food was fresh and tasty. The espresso was authentic. The vegie wrap and salad I had for lunch was fresh and tasty. I had buttermilk ranch dressing on the side for everything and it was delicious. Only needed a little bit of it to dress up everything. I will come back to Cook's Room when I'm in Dodgeville again!

This looks like just a little coffee and pastry shop from the front window, but in the back room there is a very nice sit down restaurant that serves lunch and also dinner meals a few evenings a week by reservation. Try the flounder...it's excellent. If you are there when it's not too busy you'll probably even get to meet the chef/owner which is an additional treat. Service is friendly and efficient . Dodgeville is a small town where we really don't have a lot of dining options, and I really enjoy being able to support this local business.

I have been here several times for dinner. Every meal was perfect and creatively prepared. They have raised the bar for food to a point which is unmatched anywhere from Minneapolis to Chicago. Their entrees range from salmon to chicken to steak. The service is very good as well. If you want to treat yourself to excellent food, this is the place. You will not be disappointed.

I've only been to the Cook's Room once but my lunch was excellent. I had a panini and a side salad for $7.25. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying one of their salads. I agree with a previous review that this is nice option if you are trying to eat healthy. My only compliant is they serve soft drinks in a can instead of receiving endless refills. Obviously, this is a very minor issue. The staff was very friendly. I'm looking forward to a return visit.

Today was my first visit here and I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner who took over a couple of weeks back! I had an excellent Cuban panini and a cup of tortilla soup. The soup had a kick of spice, which I was warned about but to me it was perfect. There is nothing wrong with a little spice! I tried a Hometown Blonde from New Glarus Brewing, my first time trying this beer from a brewery I like a lot. I enjoyed the beer and I was pleasantly suprised to find some good craftbeer available at a small cafe like this. Last but not least I had a strawberry pie that was Outstanding, best Strawberry Pie I have ever had. Along with the food the service was excellent. Courtney ads a nice personable touch to the dinning experience and everyone from the cashier to the people that brought out my food were I was very impressed with how friendly everyone was. I wish the new owner luck, I hope he doesn't change the feel of the place too much as it works really well. I can't wait to bring my wife here the next time we are in town. Thanks!
