Used to go here all the time when it first opened but the last 3 times I have had issues with the food. Went for the fish fry one night and they changed the batter recipe and it was just awful. So awful I could only eat a few bites. Then the last 2 times I went there for lunch and both times ordered a salad with the rotisserie chicken and BOTH times found a bone in the chicken. The first time they gave me my money back for the salad and the second time they didn't even offer. I personally thought that was bad management on their part considering I told them this is the second time I've had this happen. Needless to say I will not be going back because I'm afraid I may choke on something in my food.

Due to the road construction currently going on (apparently the whole state of WI) it was initally tough to find. But, I'm glad we made the effort. Charcoal Grill has a diverse menu with several fresh options. My boyfriend got the french dip which was enormous and super tasty. I had the chicken and dumplings soup which wasn't all that traditional, but still really good and a yummy salad with cranberries, walnuts and blue cheese. They have Sprechers on tap, as well as lots of good beer choices.

I have only been there for lunch and I usually go with the Chicken Ranch Wrap which I would rate a 3 out of 5. The bar area has good seating and i can watch ESPN which is a plus. Overall, its a nice place to grab lunch and a good place to go for a lunch meeting.

Looks like there hasn't been any new reviews in a while. Went here earlier this week. Had a burger and boyfriend had a Thai steak and rice bowl. Both were a good value. Had a few beers. Everything is priced right for the quality you get. Nothing was bad, nothing was something I would go back for or could only get there. Our server was friendly and quick. Overall a nice stop if you want to get in and out someplace quick, fill your tummy, and not break the bank.

There is nothing FRESH about this place. Or clean for that matter, if you walk into the bar area, just look up at the ceiling tiles, you'll promptly walk out of the place. It's gross. Food is all standard frozen crap and stuff out of the Sysco foods delivery mega can-o-crap. Yes they do rotisserie chicken, I guess you could consider that fresh, but other than that, no better than cheap diner fare at a not so diner price. The drinks are mostly pre-mix creations that are LOADED with sugars and artificial sweetners... which is fine if they're $3, but they want double that. I realize this little town doesn't have many options, which is sad. But rather than drop $50-$75 at this place, go to the store and buy some quality food and cook it yourself. This place doesn't offer any experience worth the $

Cold food, dry fish, not worth the price. .... Well that about sums it up, where's the good restaurants in Burlington? Coming from Milwaukee there's really not been any that I can celebrate:^( The Margarita was cheap and decent at least:-) Won't return for food but maybe for a drink.

Been here a few times now. Love the rotisserie chicken and pizza. But dont really care for the burgers. On Sunday they have a brunch. Tried a lot of the items available on the brunch buffet all bland. I will go back but not for brunch.

I have been here many times. They have some good specials during the week but the service is spotty and the food is typical of a chain restaurant.

Not my favorite place. Food is overpriced for quality. Service and food is inconsistent. I've had the ranch chicken sandwich three times, and it was different every time. Burgers were ok at best for the price. Beef was unseasoned and not all that flavorful. The best thing they have is their happy hour and pizza. There is much better pizza in the area.

Let's face it, we have limited options when it comes to quick-know-what to expect chain restaurants here in Burlington. Because of this, we find ourselves eating at Charcoal Grill more often than I'd like. Usually we end up here by default because we either don't want to drive outta the zip code, or don't want to spend a ton of money at a more upscale restaurant for dinner/lunch...whatever. And I know some people detest chains, but they serve a purpose - they are consistent, predictable and affordable. Although I'm never particularly excited to eat here, when we do eat here the food is always good. I know that my usual (chicken tacos) will taste good. And the waitresses are always friendly...always. We have never had an issue with poor service at this location. So, although I'm never excited about this place (sorry, Charcoal Grill!! It's not you, it's me), I'm gonna go with 4 stars because they have never screwed up my food (even when I do decide to step outta my rut of chicken tacos) and the wait staff is always super friendly and very attentive.

Burgers are good. Good flavor and a nice size. Bacon was thick and crisp. Also had the ranch chicken sandwich with the pulled rotisserie chicken. The chicken came in nice, large pulled pieces and was very tender and flavorful. Prices are reasonable too.

The wife and I have been going to Charcoal Grill for years, but we only been to the one in Burlington a few times Nice location great view of the Fox river, in a somewhat odd location, and a bit hard to get into if you're coming from the wrong direction. Charcoal Grill always have a great menu, plenty of options for anyone with any sorta taste. The Burlington location as friendly workers, the waitress we had today was very nice and timely. I food came quickly and she made sure that our glass kept full. I had the Charcoal Grill burger, and I loved it. They always cook it the right amount of time, with no pink showing, the onion fries are really tasty and they give you a lot of them. The restaurant is very clean with a nice little "fixing bar" to top off your burger. It's got a sports theme going on in there, with tons of flat screen TVs, make for a really nice touch. I didn't care for the music, I don't do county music, and it was pretty hard to listen to. Great place to eat while in Burlington, you really can't go wrong eating there.

My wife and I happened to be in Burlington randomly last night and decided to give this place a try. First, we had great service. Our waitress wasn't too overbearing or missing. She noticed I had an empty glass of Diet Coke almost like she had a sixth sense and got it taken care of in a flash. We got the cheese curds. I got a chicken sandwich and my wife got the fish fry. The waitress definitely talked up the fish fry - and neither of us were too impressed with anything we got. Don't get me wrong - it was definitely good. The only problem is that in WI, you gotta really have something special for your fish fry when I can get the same thing anywhere else, especially during Lent. I gotta really compliment them on having so much stuff my wife liked that she had a hard time making a decision. It's rare that she doesn't instantly know what she's getting because she's such a picky eater. The other thing that I'd mention is that this location has a great view of the Fox River (i.e. is right next to it). I wish we could go during the day and enjoy that view. Would definitely give it a second try if only for the view.

Keep driving and do NOT stop here. I have never had a good meal at this restaurant and after a 4 year boycott my family talked me into going here tonight....let me just say, even with the lowest of the low expectations, this place showed me the bottom of their barrel. We had a table of six adults and three children. To begin our horror story, our beer was bad and when we mentioned it to our waitress she told us there was nothing wrong with it, not offering to replace it. When we asked for waters we were told it would take several minutes because she was busy. We ordered our food and appetizers and told our waitress to bring out all the food as soon as it was ready due to the three starving kids at our table. we never received the bread platter that every other table was eating. our breaded mushrooms were burnt. we did get our salads and soups in a timely manner, but that was all. We sat for over an hour and only two entrees made it to our table. While we sat several other customers got up and left due to the extremely poor service. our waitress came once to our table and apologized for the wait and blamed it on the kitchen...great service recovery, pointing the finger somewhere else makes me feel much better. Then after we started getting our coats on a manager finally came out and said she had been making our food and plating in right then, we only stayed because the 2 yr old was starving at this point. We sat and where served burnt burgers, that had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for 20 mins, the other entrees were cold, and none of it tasted good. When we complained about the food the manager took 50 % off the food bill which still left us with 102$ bill and the waitress then blamed it on the corporation. Are you Kidding me, the only reason that bill got paid was because my father was with us and visiting from out of town, otherwise the scene my husband and I would have thrown would have been Oscar worthy. Do not stop here, do not eat here, run...run far and fast away from this train wreck!
