Stopped in for lunch. Great service, great brisket and great atmosphere. Very friendly staff and a good location. I'll plan to be back.

Decent place. We had the biscuit and pulled pork. Both were decent. A little dry though. The bbq Sauces were good. Would give it one more star but was just a smudge to dry. Would go here again though.

Stopped in here even after reading a few negative reviews about it. It was Wednesday night, and turns out it was their wing night(50 cents/wing). Of course all I had were the wings, and I enjoyed them. The wings were of good size, not those skimpy ones you see at other wing joints. I had some in buffalo and the others were just naked, and I was able to try out the three sauces they have out on the table. I really liked the spicy, and the medium was ok too. The third I believe was what they were calling root beer sauce, and it was too sweet for me. All in all, I enjoyed my meal. Only negatives I can see to the place were that the service may have been a touch slow even with very few diners in the restaurant and the music was overly loud I thought.

This used to be one of our favorite places, with an awesome waitress and pretty good food. Recently, however, the service has gone down hill. Our waitress was more interested in chatting at the bar than taking care of her tables. When I have to get up from the table on two different occasions to hunt for my waitress so that I can order an appetizer, and to ask for extra fish, forget it. When a person decides to open a restaurant, the focus is usually on the food, which is important, but it's often the terrible service that can sink a place.

I will never go back this place. Last time I went I got food poisoning and was sick for days.

Had an upbeat attentive waitress, the food was good, reminded me of home cooking. We are planning to come back again. Only downside was we ordered the wings as an appetizer which was $6 and we only got six wings. They were tasty, just expected there would be more.

This isnt even good food let alone good bbq Owner was questionably "buzzed" sitting at the bar drinking with patrons During my wait for take out, owners daughter came out to inform of a very upset client who called about a large to go order missing items. Ribs and chicken had nothing special in the way of seasoning and very little smoke My expert opinion is that most of the food is pre cooked and then barely finished in a smoker, possibly even a charcoal pit. Bottom line nobody at this joint is getting up at 4am to light fires and slow cook meats for 10 to 12 hours each day. This is a bar with a bbq problem, neither of which they are doing even remotely decent at. Save your money and get some ribs and put em on the grill

I ate here once and it was OK. Being someone that really likes BBQ I just find other options to be better.

Food was great! If you are looking for some good BBQ in Southern Wisconsin, the Brickyard is a must! Everything tasted homemade and the meat was delicious! Prices were very reasonable and the portions were good. Definitely worth a try!

We stopped here on a Saturday night I had the build a burger which was good. My husband had the prime rib dinner (at least that is what they called it). It tasted like pot roast and was stringy and way over cooked. The waitress new it was wrong and said so when she brought it to the table. Needless to say the next time she appeared at the table was to bring the bill. When prime rib is your special of the night I would assume it is cooked and ready to go. Yet it took almost 45 minutes to bring it out. Needless to say wont be back.

The ribs are smoked on site and taste great. I had them with the home made mac and cheese and the home made baked beans. Everything about the meal tasted great - very professional barbecue. From the outside of the bar I would not have believed that they would serve such good food at a reasonable price. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. They were very accommodating when I asked if it was possible to watch a hockey game on one of the TVs. I would definitely go back when I am next in the area for business. I would like to try the brisket, but the ribs were so good that I would probably have them again.

My hubby and I stopped here after a motorcycle ride..we really wanted to go somewhere in town we hadn't been..Im real happy we stopped here! I had a pulled pork sandwhich so tastey I couldn't put it down long enough to take a picture..lol..The have several types of bbq sauce..even one thats got rootbeer in it. I had tyeir baked mac n cheese with my sandwich and man was it gooey, cheesy goodness! My hunny had a burger and he says it was delicious! He also says the man c cheese was PHENOMONAL! We posted some pictures of what was left when I pried my chubby fingers off the sandwich...it has a nice open atmosphere and feels airy bright for a tavern type place..Yes you could bring the kids here for lunch..its not as dark inside as it looks outside..GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY..deliciouso! also they have an exstensive beer list right on the table, and our waitress was laid back and friendly..excellent!

Since my last review I've been back many times and tried a few more items on the menu. Each of them better than the last. That said, the ribs are by far the best I've ever had and I'm a big fan. They fall off the bone and don't need and sauce, they just taste like BBQ and it is perfect. I had the opportunity to watch the Blackhawks game there and it's great for sitting and watching a game. The owners could not be nicer! They both have made me feel welcome which can be hard when taking care of so many people. i tell all my friends about this place. This place truly is an undiscovered treasure in Burlington.

My husband and I had dinner here recently. It is definitely more of a bar that also serves food. There was classic rock on the radio, which put us more in the "bar atmosphere" mood. We started off with the Jacked Up Mushrooms for an appetizer. They were good; didn't knock my socks off, but they were tasty. However, I felt they were lacking a little salt. We both ordered the pulled pork sandwich. A tasty sandwich, but not the best I've ever had. It was a little on the dry side, so I used plenty of the Rootbeer sauce which solved that problem quickly. And the sauce was good. Overall, everything was just okay. Nothing to really complain about. The prices were reasonable and they have a huge beer menu. We will probably return.

Ribs were par boiled. Bartender was clueless about their Tequila KAH. I had to prove she was wrong with my smart phone and then she ripped me off charging 20 for a shot and a half when she said it was 3 shots.

Had lunch this week there to check out the new BBQ and was pleasantly surprised. It's nothing fancy, but good BBQ joints never are. The pulled pork was awesome - didn't even need sauce, though the 3 varieties offered were a nice addition. I ordered the baked beans as a side and my friend ordered the mac n cheese. My beans could have cooked a little longer but next time I would definitely order the mac n cheese. Yum. Others there said the brisket was great; will have to try that the next time. So if you're in Burlington and need a place to eat, maybe skip Fred's and try the new BBQ joint at the old Brickyard. Your taste buds won't be disappointed.

My wife and I went to Brickyard BBQ last night for dinner after receiving a bogo coupon from a local flyer. Overall, I would go back and pay full price...so I suppose the coupon worked. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. The sandwich was tasty, very moist and no fat globs but unfortunately no bark on this particular sandwich. I do look forward to the bark on the bbq - that's where it's at in my opinion. Perhaps next time. I also tasted each of the 3 sauces available table side, and each was very good in it's own respect. The mac and cheese was slightly drier than my idea of perfect mac and cheese, but I prefer it "saucier" than many folks. It was toasted to get a crust on top which was awesome, but could have been saucier to start with...jmo. I would, however, order it again in a heartbeat. My wife had the chicken sandwich and baked beans. The chicken breast was large, juicy and seasoned well. The baked beans weren't just a plain canned variety...they actually had "extra stuff" mixed in, and the flavor combo worked out well. While the menu didn't have cornbread listed with the lunches (which is where the sandwiches are listed), it was listed with the dinners. We asked for some and it very good as well. The staff was very friendly, and made us feel right at home. While I'm not much of a bar type of person, and this is a bar, I was very comfortable. I guess it's just more of a family type of feeling that I really like. Others that were there all seemed to be having a good time, including a group of 10 young guys that were in the process of putting down a pile of grub, and enjoying every bit of it! I'll definitely go back!

A great Family Run Establishment that has put Service first. Great Food Prepared Well, Give this Place A try Well Worth the Chance. They are Buying Local Wilson Farms Meat, Organic Local Produce.

The server was decent at best, but the kitchen took forever. It's smoked meats, there is no cooking time and took 35 min for our meal. The pulled pork was drier and not very flavorful. The brisket is the best thing going for them. I kind of recommend it, but it was not cooked quite long enough, still a tad tough (or cooked at too high of a heat). Overall though the experience sucked, slow service, mid grade food at a premium bbq price, and very skunky corona. I do not recommend this place till they figure their business out.

I would actually give this place a 3 1/2. I went there twice, both with quite different experiences. I'd have to go back one more time to make a final decision. The first time I went me and a friend had 2 orders of wings. One with the Rootbeer BBQ sauce, the other with the mild BBQ sauce. Both were excellent! They were smoked just right so you had that juicy chicken on the inside and just enough smoky crisp on the outside. Then we had the 'Jacked Up Mushrooms'. Those were totally amazing! I'm a huge mushroom fan so this was right up my alley. I forget exactly how they said they were made, but basically sauteed with some shallots, there was some cream, and then some Honey Jack Whiskey. It's served up on a pile on a plate with extra sauce, and some garlic bread slices to eat with the mushrooms and soak up any extra sauce. Delicious! Then, we had the pulled pork nachos. They were awesome too! But, didn't finish them because by this time, we were wayyy to full. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very helpful since it was our first time there. She was very pleasant and on top of our drinks. We even got a little tour of the smoker out back which meant we had to walk through the kitchen...which from what I remember, was very clean. The second time I went was with another friend. I was all excited because of my first experience there. But this time around, it was almost the complete opposite. We ordered the wings again...same sauce and everything. This time around they were so black and charred and were super dry. They tasted terrible. We also ordered the 'Jacked Up Mushrooms' again. Those were also pretty dry as well. There was hardly any sauce on them. The sauce is what made the dish! My friend also ordered a side of Mac & Cheese. I'm a huge Mac & Cheese fan but this stuff tasted like it sat in a warmer all day. It was very dry...barely any 'cheesyness' to it. Very blah too. The bartender was nice, and I'm sure she meant well, but was quite annoying. She tried clearing our plates before we were done, asking if we wanted the bill while I had a mouthful of food and wing sauce everywhere, and then tried to take the bill 'to get us some change' before we had even looked at it. I don't know if she was in some sort of a hurry or what, but we weren't and it was no where near closing time. I do want to go back one more time to make a final decision on whether or not I'll be more of a regular customer or not.

Great food. Great casual atmosphere. The brisket and the burgers are my favorites. All the food is homemade. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. They have nightly specials that are great. Can't beat the price!
