Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

- Rating based on 1 visit (pick up) - Never been here before. - Ordered the pizza special for pick up on a Monday night. - Phone service (Bridget) and pick up service (2+ staff were specifically attentive to me) were patient and appropriately nice. - Pizz

This place only gets 3 stars for the service. Our server was on time and very friendly. I REALLY liked the atmosphere but the lounge singer was horrible. The piano player was good. Now the food... I am very sensitive to salt, so for me to say everything needed salt is bad. Basically nothing was horrible but nothing was any better than good. Very bland. I will probably go back for drinks at the bar at the most. Sorry.

NOTE: This review is based on the pizza take-out option. My family loves this place but we only utilize it for the Sunday/Monday buy-1-get-1 pizza offer. I think the pizza there is a touch overpriced but on Sundays and Mondays it's a steal. I've read a lot about the poor service but I can't speak to that. Vino's signature pizza is it's best offering, especially if spicy is your thing. Otherwise the other specials are almost as good. Chicken pesto, spinach & feta, and BBQ chicken pizza are amongst the other options. I'm not generally big into BBQ chicken pizza but Vino's is the best I've had. So basically, if the service complaints are scaring you off, try the take out option on a Sunday. You will return.

Vino Capp is okay...The 2 for 1 pizza deal is great on Sundays and Mondays, and the servers are friendly and prompt. We got the caprese pizza, which tasted fresh and had a thicker crust with a nice crunch. No complaints there. But the chicken pesto was weird. The menu states that you get pesto sauce, chicken, fresh spinach and cheeses. Cool. But...what arrived was not a pesto. A pesto is traditionally basil, pine nuts, garlic, olive oil, and parmesan. You can get a little creative, but it is supposed to be a crushed/pounded, rougher, thicker sauce with those general ingredients. We got an alfredo sauce. I tasted it alone...it was alfredo...smooth...creamy white sauce. When I asked the server if the pizza was right, she said "oh, because of the pesto?" and I said "yeah." And she goes: "well it's a different kind of pesto." We told her we were fine with it...but...it totally wasn't a pesto... So I'm pretty confused by Vino Capp. The ambiance is rustic-Italy with laser lights (which is not a criticism...I like fun lighting), the music was back-to-back reggae, and the pesto was alfredo. It's kind of an eclectic Italian twilight zone-restaurant...where nothing is as it seems. But rather than fix the pesto, I feel like VC should just run with the confusion that is already happening...serve spaghetti and meatballs and say it's a "different kind of fettucine alfredo" and roll with it.

Decent, nothing special. Please note that I have been here several times, so my review does not reflect one bad experience. The decor makes no sense. They have a Victorian wallpapered wall, cheesy painted walls designed to look like cracking brick, a wall painted like a forest, a wall painted like wood panels, and a wall of stone, all in the same room. I have no idea what theme they are trying to achieve. That in conjunction with the loud reggae music just leaves you distracted and confused. The food is okay. Pretty basic Italian, nothing really makes an impression. The desserts were bad. We tried several and each was as unappetizing as the next. It also doesn't seem to matter what you order, you will wait...a long time. You will consider just leaving before your food arrives. I am also deeply annoyed at their pesto pizza. It's not a pesto pizza. It's an Alfredo pizza with spinach. Stop calling it pesto. All that aside, the pizzas were really dry and unpleasant. The staff is usually very friendly. No complaints there. My recommendation would be to come for drink and bruschetta. This place has a great bruschetta and great bar lighting. Step your game up Vino, and ditch the reggae.

This is the second time we have tried this neighbor restaurant. The first time was right after they open and service was terrible. Today we gave a second chance and it was worse. We were seated, and gave a waitress our drink order and dinner order. After 20 minutes my wife enquired where are drinks were and we were told No orders were given to either the bar or kitchen. Goodbye, never go back. This place should be closed.

This place was totally adorable inside! Very well decorated and welcoming... The service was very good also. I had a hard time deciding what to order there were so many options but I thought some of the entrées were a bit out of line in price compared to what I saw serving size coming out of the kitchen We all ordered something different and were content with our dinner. And it was time for dessert and we were celebrating a birthday we ordered three separate desserts they were all homemade and the foodie that I am I have to say they were absolutely delicious!!!!! Next time I would for sure try their pizza it looked delicious! (Dictated not read)

Excellent half-pound burgers! Really, really good. Love the fresh sauteed mushroom and Swiss and the new Black and Blue (actually, I ordered it without the Black....just as a regular burger but with sauteed mushrooms and gorganzola. It was sooooo good. I highly recommend Vino Cappuccino for their burgers. Have enjoyed them several times.

In from out of town..140.00 later terrible food although my wife liked the pizza.. the food took forever and actually only half of order arrived. 10 minutes later the other half of order came for the other 2 in party. It was sort of funny looking around and hearing and seeing everyone talking about how bad it was. My penna with cream sauce wasn't creamy. It was like watery. 2 stars considering we were able to sit on the patio avoiding the smelly cigar filled inside. If you like a 10.00 short glass of margarita you will like it. Worst experience..still thinking about this and the horrible taste still in my mind...1 star now a day later

Breaking my Yelp hiatus to review this gem of a place. In all honesty I can't believe I haven't done it sooner seeing as I have visited Vino like 100 times. (I wish that was an exaggeration) I come here a few times a week, because I work across the street and it a super convenient place to grab a bite to eat, or a glass of wine *heavy emphasis on the wine. As I said, I mostly spend my time at vino drinking wine, but sometimes I order food and everything I've had has been really solid. The cheesy breadsticks are straight up addicting! The ambiance is pretty nice, its a great breakaway from all the chain restaurants that seem to permeate Brookfield. The real reason I like coming to Vino is because the service is awesome. The servers are really kind and accommodating, and if it's not crazy busy they take time to make conversation and get to know you. This summer while running my dance intensive across the street our faculty ordered to go from Vino everyday. They loved the food and were really impressed with how quickly and accurately they put our orders together. Vino was also amazing yet again this summer while I was hosting dancers for a show. Between rehearsal and work we had a really small time frame to get food and Vino was able to get our orders out quickly every time. Overall its a great option if you are dining in Brookfield. Solid food, an extensive wine list, and servers that seem to really care about their patrons.

Horrible service! Went there tonight and got shoved in a corner, sat waiting for 15 minutes and no one came to wait on us! What's worse is that the manager/owner gentleman personally seated other couples who must have been friends and had them waited on right away. Unbelievable. We walked out right passed him and he told us to have a good night and didn't even realize we were walking out....so disappointed....

Pasta dish was just ok. But seriously, $9.25 for a Manhattan drink before dinner. A little steep for this neck of the woods.

Great location but terrible food. I went to this place twice and havent been back.... What a waste of nice space. Could you leave so a better restaurant could take over?
(1)Sharon K.
I have gone several times now. Enjoyed the atmosphere inside and outside. The service was good, and each time the drinks, appetizers and meals were delish. The chicken on my chicken parm was the biggest piece I have ever seen! So tasty too!
(5)James L.
My wife and I almost didn't try this place due to the reviews. I will say we were lucky we did try them. The atmosphere is great! The drinks and food were very good but slightly higher priced then other places we've been before. The egg plant appetizer was to die for. We also had pizza which was buy one get one on Mondays. We go out to eat at alot of places so you are getting an honest opinion. Our waitress was new and did an excellent job!!! We will definitely be back again!

Good food. Terrible customer service. The worst customer service out of all the nice restaurants in Brookfield. If you want the affluent Brookfield crowd to spend money at your place on a regular basis -- you need to treat them right and not be a sassy mouth. Customers don't appreciate a crap attitude. My friends and family have given this place a lot of business and very recently we did a carry out order of 2 pizzas but when we got them 1 of them was wrong. We called to get it nicely corrected and the wait person/manager not only had the gall to deny she wrote down the order wrong -- she lied and blamed us for it and had a b!tchy attitude (trust me *she* messed up the order). Then she hung up on us!! Oh. My. God. Big mistake. We then drove and personally returned the pie in person and received a refund. No apology. That's pretty sad that because of their botched pizza order and lousy attitude and no apologies given to us -- this place is now gonna lose at least $25K annually from all our neighbors, friends and family boycotting this place.

Ate here on Tuesday for lunch, everything was awesome. Great wine selection and our calamari appetizer was fresh, crispy, and not overly fishy. My black and bleu burger was awesome and juicy- the chef really knows his stuff! Additionally the tiramisu was some of the best I ever had. Bravo to the crew and our lovely waitress. Will definitely eat here again!

My husband and I have dined here multiple times and love it! Only one time was the service a little slow but they were extremely busy so we understood. The food has always been fantastic every time we've been there, too. We've gotten a variety of items and have never been disappointed. I love that it's a local place and not one of the many chain restaurants. The piano music on Friday and Saturday nights is nice, too - don't see that at the chain places. We just went for Valentine's Day and they had a great deal for dinner. Very impressed and will keep going back.

I like this place- not in love with it by any means but it certainly is not bad. Their bottles of wine are fairly affordable, the food is decent and if you don't mind a train going by every 15 min or so they have a nice outdoor patio to enjoy in the summer. My only complaint was the host-a older heavy set man- we came early and he seated us right where the sun was glaring in our eyes, we asked to move a few tables back(there were plenty open still) and he acted like this was a major inconvience for him. But our waiter was great and more then made up for the rude host.

This place is a definite no. Flavorless cold pizza. The boxes were cold and we were sitting at the bar waiting for it. And the bar is another issue. Don't sit there if you expect to get a drink. I don't know why they have chairs because they don't have a bartender to take an order. Really bad experience fo the amount of money they charge. Keep driving past this place.

Worst service absolutely ever. We stopped by here for dinner and wanted to eat at the bar. First of all, it took forever to actually get any bar service at all. There were two bar backs (I believe that is what they were) that saw us sitting and waiting for service and did nothing but wash glasses and fold napkins for what seemed like forever when we first arrived. We were able to order a cocktail and a few appetizers eventually, which were normal deep fried stuff. We told the server (no bartender AT ALL) that we were going to order something else for dinner, but nobody EVER checked back with us. And two stools down another couple actually did get checked on and the server didn't even think to ask us. All the while, the two bartender types continued to fold a multitude of napkins. It wasn't until we actually stood up and insisted on a check that anyone came over to see what we needed and that was at least 15 minutes after the server had removed our appetizers. Horrible. Very sad because this is a convenient restaurant for us. Never again.

The ambiance was nice: table setting was beautiful, candles, pretty bar. The food was just average. We had bruschetta and pastas. The bruschetta was pre - prepared and tasted like it had been sitting in a refrigerator. Pastas were adequate. Service was rushed, our food all came out too quickly.

Met a bunch of friends for dinner here on a weekday night. Restaurant wasn't busy however, service was terrible. Ordered the Bruschetta and the Penne alla Siciliana. Food was less than average. First time visitor to this restaurant. I will not be back and would not recommend this place to anyone.

This was on my "To Try" list for awhile...It's tucked way they heck out on Brookfield Road, not the most convenient location. But, it's been getting a lot of hype so I wanted to partake. Stopped in on a Wednesday after work. Just happened to be Wine Night so they were running a wine sampling. I didn't go for it because it was about $15 for a tasting selection on three premium wines. I'll just put it out there right now, I'm no wine connoisseur so for me it was a tad pricey. The place was completely empty, I'm always creeped out by that. We did, however, get great service being the only one in the dining room! They had half off appetizers as well so we went with wine off the list (solid list with good options at all price points) and split the Chicken Frites and goat cheese prosciutto wraps. The wraps were well done, goat cheese was fresh. The Frites were just so-so, nothing special in my opinion. We then split a Goat Cheese, tomato, and black olive pizza. Thin crust was good, but a little soggy. All in all, I'd be hesitant to come back and pay full price (Yes, I am cheap) for a meal after feeling less than impressed by the appetizers and pizza. I love the concept, and the space is adorable (It's right next to the train and the building has a train stationy feel), but the food is just okay.

I've heard about this place for some time and was excited to try it just based on the concept. A coffee shop by morning, cafe by day, and wine bar by night? Sign me up! I'm happy to report that even with high hopes, this place exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the Prosciutto Wrapped Goat Cheese appetizer. It was fresh and flavorful. The aroma alone was mouth-watering. I also had the seafood bisque which was very good as well. Protip: toss all the extra onion and tomato from the goat cheese in the soup! My friend enjoyed the venison pasta which I sampled. It was extremely well made. Not gamy at all. Packed with flavor with the perfect amount of spice, it was more like a venison sausage. I fell in love with the customer pizza I ordered. Garlic/White base, with caramelized onions, spinach, and mushrooms. The pizza was hot and fresh. It's a thin crust and you do have the option of doubling up on the crust if you'd like, but for what it's worth, single crust is the way to go. The pizza was so good, but ended up being too large and I had to take half of it home with me. Tasted just as good the next morning. The service was stellar and the building is great. Modern decor, with seating options from bar area, traditional dining rooms, or the outdoor patio. Plus, you can't beat enjoying a well-made demitasse of espresso without having to head out to another place! Lastly, the price was very reasonable. For the two entrees, two cups of soup, appetizer, two cups of espresso, and a glass of wine, our total came to only $60. Great place for lunch or a casual date.

What a blessing! I just happened to be in Brookfield the other day visiting a long lost friend, and chose this divine delicatessen as our luncheon getaway. FABULOUS. I am extremely critical of food and restaurants, and have little if any negative comments to expulse against Vino Cappuccino Cafe. A commendable wine list and selection for a small cafe, with at least one wine by the glass for most of the major styles. Even Gewurztraminer! :-P I do agree with some previous grievances that the check total can increase exponentially in a short period of time... My friend and I had a $50 lunch tab, but I regret none of it. (glass of wine, salad, two soups, and two entrees - relatively reasonable). The service was fine, the food selection was appealing and interesting. I believe that the sign out front reads Pizzeria and something else, the pizza section composed one of the most extensive menu segments... so keep that in mind. They had a smattering of quality pastas, I had one as my entree. They readily modified the entrees for us, which was a hot treat. Slip, scrabble, slide and squeal on into Vino Cappuccino and at least give it a first try. Chances are you will be back for more! I believe there is a heaping heavy hopping happy hour that drives flocks of patrons scurrying through the doors to soak up snacks and drinks... but I couldn't tell you what those specials may be if they are in existence. I really like the layout of the place. BRAVO!

Had one of the best hamburgers EVER at Vino Capp last week. Served on a toasted brioche bun, the burger was topped with fresh spinach, garlic aioli and onion strings. My burger was cooked to medium, just like I ordered. Served with a huge portion of piping hot fries, this was one delicious meal, that's for sure. Varied and extensive menu choices from sandwiches and wraps to pizza and pasta. Terrific-looking cakes on display that are almost works of art! The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also has a HUGE wine list and full bar that's open late. Terrific location near the Wilson Center in Brookfield makes it a great spot for catching a bite before or after a performance, concert or event. The indoor space is huge and they also have a large outdoor patio for dining al fresco. You could throw one serious party at this place, no doubt about that.
(4)Elaine D.
The only thing amazing about this place was the pizza; The service was extremely slow, my Long Island was terrible, and the server was not well trained by any means.
(2)Bob D.
This is a placeholder review, please read: I came here one night after calling ahead to make sure they were open. I got there more than a half hour before they said they were going to close, but I was informed they had shut their kitchen down already. After leaving feedback on their website, a manager IMMEDIATELY called me, apologized for the mixup, and has taken a few additional steps that I feel completely forgive them for the mixup in the first place. 5 stars given for outstanding customer service, and I hope to leave a review after trying their food, also at five stars!

Love this place! Every time I've been there I've always been satisfied! Reasonably priced and cute patio area

So Good! Finally, some good Italian food out here in the Midwest. I'm from Boston and have been longing for a nice Italian place to remind me of home and this is the place. Good food, nice atmosphere. Pasta was absolutely delicious and ingredients you could tell were fresh. Desserts were made in-house too. Yum.

Great local spot in the heart of Brookfield.

This was our third visit in two months. Each time we anticipated a good evening and each time we came away disappointed. Tonight, the gentleman who greeted us really didn't greet...he seemed angry and said nothing as he led us to a table in the attractive but noisy bar. The wine list is reasonably priced...we ordered a bottle of Pinot noir for under $20. The lentil soup and dinner salad were good. But the rest of the meal was over cooked and under flavored. Part of the blame was mine. In the dark I read the Vino special to be an 8 ounce tenderloin served on pasta. It turned out to be 8 ounces of tenderloin tips. The waitress should have caught my mistake when I ordered my steak medium rare. An earlier visit was disappointing because one member of our party didn't get served until the rest of us had finished eating. The other visit was marred by excessive volume on the music system which resulted in us being moved from table to table as we sought an area where we could carry on a conversation. There likely won't be a fourth disappointment. This is an attractive facility located in an interesting trackside building in the " historic" Brookfield Road area of Brookfield. But something is missing.
