Great atmosphere and good food. The waitress was pleasant and very helpful. I am so happy a Japanese restaurant has finally opened up in this area.

Good, newer, nicely decorated Japanese place. The servers were unexpectedly knowledgeable about the menu and the different sauces that came with some items. We ordered the chicken and broccoli dinner, California roll, and tempura roll. It's really good value as the chicken dinner came with fried rice and two egg rolls for $8.59. The rolls were very good with sweet and sticky, soft sushi rice. Don't be deterred by the strip mall appearance. When we arrived this place was more hopping than anything else around!

Great food, beautiful and relaxing atmosphere with soft music. Server was kind and as punctual as he could be with slow speed of kitchen...waited almost 30 minutes for soup/salad/app. Maybe in today's fast paced "I want it now" American society we've become, going to a place where you have to wait a bit is actually a breath of fresh air...actually talked a lot instead of scarfing down course after course of food! In the end, great dinner choices and sushi at a very reasonable price!

I was surprised by the foods here. They're tasty but not fatty and oily like Chinese foods. Definitely come back here. The service was very good too. They are very friendly.

Are you kidding me?!? This... Place... Is... AWESOME!!! We had dinner here a few weeks ago. They had a $45 Sushi platter that was a mouth orgasm! Absolutely incredible quality food, and the waitress was 2nd to none!!! I tipped her 50% she was that good! Yup, 50%!!! I highly recommend the Crab Ragoons and the peppered ahi tuna :-). They gave us a roll of it to try for free... I would have paid for it without a question!!! This place may not look like much from the outside (it is in a strip mall); but, it's worth every bit of your time!

My favorite restaurant--so happy they came to Beaver Dam. Service is always great and the owner is wonderful. Love the wine choices, as well. Like the atmosphere and it works for a nice night out or a casual stop after work. My daughter and I eat here often, and I have yet to try something I don't like.

Miso happy we found this jewel on Yelp! We stopped for lunch on our trip up north and enjoyed it immensely. Our server was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The bento boxes had the main entree, fried rice, four pieces of California roll, two mini egg rolls and your choice of soup or salad for $8-$9. The teriyaki chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were the best I've had anywhere. I have a peeve with people that look down on smaller towns or "fly over" states and say stupid stuff like, "good for Iowa (or whatever)." Sake House is just amazing period!

It is a beautiful reaturant that is way to darkly lite. It has some good food, but is prefer more nutrition friendly options. Natural would be nice.

Came in around 1:30 and got the sushi lunch special. It was very tasty. Also ordered an eel roll which was awesome. It's surprising that Beaver Dam has a great place like this. I wouldn't think that there would be a great demand for sushi in small town Wisconsin.

Friendly and helpful staff. At times they were hard to tag down and understand. Gorgeous place! Didn't feel like I was in BD anymore. Great for date night. Fish was fresh and not fishy smelling. The specialty roll was inventive. Smooth in mouth and full of flavor. Plating was amazing. I originally had 4 stars now 3 because they pulled a fast on us. Not major put give us what we order. In the sashimi bento it was to come with fried rice instead it was a tuna roll. Also was to come with California roll but it was just tempura shrimp rather then cucumber, crab meat & avocado inside of it. Just cause this is BD don't mean people don't know their japanese/americanized food. Will return but with caution!

I am a huge fan!!!! I worked at a sushi place for 4 years in CA, and this pace can hold it's own!!! There is nothing too freakie and they have a lot of sushi that is cooked! yummy all around! the staff is super friendly and very helpful. 1 member of my family is not into sushi, so we have also had a lot of the cooked menu!!! AGAIN! great! the tempura is perfect and crunchy, the udon is the yummy perfect noodle. Now lets talk about the best deal ever.....BENTO BOX. Teriyaki whatever (salmon, chix, shrimp, steak) on veggies, AND soup, AND salad, AND spring roll, AND 4 piece cali roll. ALL FOR $8-$9!! Lunch and $ 10-$15 for dinner, It really is a crazy amount of great food! OK!! you get it, I love the food here! SO GO EAT!

Great food, great service. I can't say enough good things about this place. The booths are also tall for privacy. The staff is very good and I've always had great service.

Personally the only place in the area I will eat sushi from, authentic food choices. The gyozas are delicious and i highly recommend the crab ragoons. Love their noodle dishes and beef with broccoli. On occasion food is served on the luke warm side. Service can be hit or miss, one issue I do have is 9 out of 10 times our appetizers come at the same time as the meal. Proportions and price are fair, if u order to go for pick up make sure u check ur order before u leave they often forget sauces.

I will start by saying, walking in, the place is beautiful. And clean. I came here with my husband, 3 year old, and 7 month old. My husband isn't really a sushi person but he saw that there were other options on the menu. I will say the sushi wasn't the freshest sushi I have every had but it was still good and as others have said, absolutely not fishy smell. The miso soup was as described by others, nothing incredible. The service was top notch. Very friendly and attentive waitress. All in all, I'd say it's a place to go if your craving sushi and as others have mentioned...the bento boxes are a great deal. Would love to go here again :)

I never thought you could find decent sushi in wisconsin. The dinner Bento Box is huge! The signature rolls are always good, & the lunch specials are a steal.

I left a review on another site, but I really need to post one on Yelp. Sake House is easily my favorite place to eat in Beaver Dam, because the quality of the food and the cheap lunch deals just can't be beat. The staff are also super friendly and helpful and they are very accommodating with making substitutions or changes to your order, just ask! I go there so often with my husband that some of the servers have memorized our drink and appetizer orders. We always start off with the Rock Shrimp and Gyoza. The shrimp are FANTASTIC, and if I had to recommend one of the two, it would be the shrimp. They have a light, crispy tempura batter and are drizzled with spicy mayo and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds. The Gyoza are really tasty, but they don't particularly stand out to me. I rotate between a few dishes when I eat here, the Volcano Roll, Dancing Shrimp Roll, and Filet Mignon and Shrimp Hibachi being the most common. The hibachi is the best deal during the lunch hour for me, it includes a choice of soup or salad (Miso or Clear, I prefer the clear broth with the thinly sliced mushrooms and scallions), fried or white rice (I ask for no onions in the rice), and veggies. Some other things I've had and liked are the Snow Stone Roll, Dynamite Roll, Bamboo Roll, Spider Roll, and Mr Peanut Roll, Ebi, Vegetable Udon Noodles, Shrimp Teriyaki Bento. Finish off with the oreo tempura, very good stuff!

When we saw that there was a sushi restaurant opening in a strip mall in Beaver Dam, we were pretty skeptical. However, a friend who had been there had really good things to say about it, so we decided to give it a shot and were very pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is very nice- quiet and pretty minimalist with a beautiful stone wall. There isn't much of a waiting area, so if you have to wait for a table (we only had to wait once and it was under 10 min) or for take-out, you feel like you're kind of standing out in everyone's way. On our visits there, the waitstaff is generally really attentive and friendly- there's one waitress who is a little over-the-top enthusiastic, but that's a pretty minor issue. We generally order several of the sushi rolls and share them, and all that we have tried have been delicious. One time we had the lunch special that came with a small salad and the salad would have been really good except that it was drenched in waaay too much thick dressing. Next time I would just ask for the dressing on the side. Overall the quality of the food is good and the fish is fresh-definitely on par with mid-range sushi restaurants in Madison. but with much more reasonable prices. We will definitely continue to eat there!

Really lovely interior and decor. Spacious and comfortable seating. The food is good but everything seems to taste the same. The wait staff is friendly but can be overly talkative and immature at times. Food is reasonable priced and you get decent portions.

3.5 stars. I ordered the lunch special to-go with 2 different rolls and the miso soup. The miso was nothing unusual for miso standards, and the rolls were decent. I always prefer raw sushi and had the tuna and spicy tuna. It reminded me of what I've had at Edo in Madison: pretty good, but not to die for. The service was very friendly, and I was impressed to see a place like this tucked into the corner of a strip mall. Good for BD for getting a sushi place!!

Excellent! Cindy was our server, and she was over the top! Cindy takes the time to really get to know her customers, is fun and makes every dining experience special. She's one of a kind. She knows her customers names and is truly interested in them. Rare service these days. The food is good, and the Bento Boxes are are a great deal!

Probably the best restaurant in Beaver Dam (although unfortunately that isn't saying much). But Sake House is really very good. Our first visit was on a Friday night shortly after they opened and it was pretty busy with a good 30 minute wait, but TOTALLY worth it! I had the sunshine roll and a spicy tuna roll. Soooo good! My husband had steak and chicken hibachi which was also excellent. Make sure you get a bottle of their ginger sauce. So good I almost snuck it out in my purse. The one area for improvement would be to have a bartender so you can get a drink while you wait for your table, but I think they are still a bit short on staff being so new, so I can understand why they couldn't spare a set of hands on such a busy night. I hope they can make a go of it. I will DEFINITELY be back! And I have. Food is still great. We usually get take out and the times we've eaten in haven't been as busy as our first visit so the bar area problem hasn't been an issue since we get seated pretty quickly. Thanks Sake House for making the restaurant scene in Beaver Dam not so bleak. : )

Came here from Seattle visiting family in the area. Now I have to disclaimer this by saying we eat sushi almost once a week if not more as there are many really good sushi places to choose from in Seattle. We were prepared for this sushi to be less than what we expect back home but were pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. The food was good and our service was very attentive and friendly. Would not hesitate to come back again and would recommend you give it a try.
