While driving through Wisconsin, I saw numerous signs on the highway from Culvers. I finally decided to grab some on a break. One of the best decisions I made on my drive across the country. It is truly a "butter burger. " The classic combo is similarly priced to McDonalds Big Mac combo, but Culvers fills you up much more. In short, grab a meal from Culvers!

Son was disappointed he thought he was getting cheese fries - instead he got french fries with cold shredded cheese on top - not even melted! Gross!

My sister and I have a pact that we will only eat at Culver's when we are out of town. Since they've come to the Chicago area (the closest one to me is about 15 minutes away), I've yet to stray from this pact. We've been coming to the area for a few years now, for a long weekend getaway around her birthday, usually renting a cottage on Lake Wisconsin. One of our day trips is usually to hit the Tanger outlet mall and then grab lunch at Culver's. Since we're here during the off-season, the mall and surrounding area isn't generally packed with kids and families. This was true once again this past weekend when we were here. We looked forward to our Culver's burgers, we always get the classic single with everything, and sometimes get a sundae or concrete to go. This time we were too full for the custard, but nevertheless, we enjoyed our burgers and fries. I've never had a bad experience at this Culver's (or any for that matter), and I'm thinking it's because we go at off times during non-peak season. It might be a different story mid-summer.

I think I found where minivans and harried mothers go to die. My wife and I stopped here for a quick bite on a road trip and honestly weren't prepared for the 'Chuck E. Cheese on steroids' atmosphere here. It is the Dells after all, but I think we'll hit another exit next time. The food was OK, but probably the weakest I've had at any Culver's. I'd tend to blame that on the incessant crowds from the waterparks keeping the emphasis on speed over quality.

Dependable, good stuff. Busy place at lunch time during Easter break. Fast service and a good deal.
