I was starving after kayaking nearby, so my husband and I headed here for a to-go lunch. When we walked in, there were only 2 other people sitting up at the bar, enjoying their beers. We walked up and were helped immediately and handed a menu. I ordered the special - pulled pork sandwich, and my husband ordered the brisket sandwich. And, because we were in WI, we ordered some cheese curds too. The food came out very quickly, packed and ready to go. The server was very kind, making sure we had everything we needed - ketchup, napkins, and forks (in case our sandwiches fell apart!). We were in and out in about 10 minutes, which I appreciated. When we ate the food, it was great. the cheese curds were perfectly fried and just hit the spot when dipped in ranch. Yum! My sandwich was good too. The BBQ sauce was served on the side, so I got to put on as much as I wanted. Yeah, I used the whole container of it. My husband really liked his brisket sandwich too, and he ended up finishing my sandwich because I couldn't eat it all! Definitely order out, as the ambiance at the restaurant isn't great (it kind of reminds me of a house that they just serve food in), but stop in.

Great views, tasty meals and very friendly service. We had the pastrami sandwich and brisket melt. Both were delicious with meats made on property. We ordered a basket of fries--hot and crispy hand cut with a little kick. They were some of the best I've ever eaten. Washed it down with some local beers which were probably the low point of the meal. We'll be back.

Stopped for lunch after reading some of the reviews. The only thing that isn't a "5" is the decor. It's a little Spartan. The sandwich, the soup, the french fries, were all perfect. Can't wait to go back. Whoever is in the kitchen is doing it right!

Went for lunch with the family on vacation and we all want to go back. All four of us really liked our sandwiches ( beef brisket, pastromi & 2 pulled porks) and sides. Waitress worked hard & was friendly. Reasonable prices for Door Co food. Recommend for anyone

DC Deli is the best - we come here for lunch every time we're in Door County. I don't eat pastrami anywhere else besides here and they have the best pulled pork in Door County. We always get the soup of the day and it's always great. They also have one of the best patio views of any resturant in DC. Always nice to look over the lake on a nice summer day. Looking forward to going back there again in a few weeks!

Was up in Door County about a week ago and looking for a good place to eat. DC Deli got really good reviews and they did not disappoint. I read a review on here about the Pastrami so I ended up getting that. It was very good (maybe the best I have ever had). The service was quick and friendly. The environment is welcoming. I would definitely go back if I am in the neighborhood. I also do not give reviews very often but I felt it necessary because of what a great experience it was.

The first time I came to D.C Deli, I tried their pulled pork sandwich and fell in love with it. Their food is great and they have good service. The owner, Candace, is very nice and she remembers us when we come in. They have a nice atmosphere, and a nice restaurant overall! Age -12

I only went here because of the great reviews that my fellow yelpers gave this place. It was lunch time and I really wanted something fast and inexpensive. I got the pulled pork sandwich. This is some of the best BBQ I have had since I was in Memphis. And the roll made it even better! Service was very friendly. You get a great lake view from any of the window seats. I can't wait to go back.

This place is great. I like it because it is unique and has great food. Our family cottage is on Kangaroo Lake so whenever I don't feel like grilling, I go to DC Deli. They do have some great sandwiches, BBQ, French fries, and service. Definitely my new favorite place in Baileys Harbor for sure

I have been going here since shortly after they opened. Figuring out the hours at first was a challenge. I enjoyed breakfast here but that no longer appears to be an option. I really enjoy the quality of the food. Skip the potato chips and get the potato salad or coleslaw. They are both homemade and awesome! Lunch time I have really enjoyed the chicken wrap and veggie burger. The wrap is perfect and the veggie burger is great! Dinner time they have really good entrees without the need to dress up. The most memorable dinner for me there was a salmon special. It was truly perfect. They have a nice craft beer selection. This place is great for casual, good, unpretentious food. I would even recommend take out!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, decent prices and kick ass brisket sandwich. Ate there with my wife and 13 year old son who's very picky. Everyone loved their meal and we'll definitely be back. I saw one review by Maggie V who said they were out of food, sorry but at least with BBQ that's the way it goes. Since it's started 13 hours ahead when you're out you're out until 13 hours later.

The very best pastrami I have ever tasted.....and I have been to some of the very best delis in New York, Chicago and St. Louis. I had it twice in a week so if that tells you something. It was tender and spicy and perfectly smoked. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich and he said it was very good also. Pay the extra money and try their homemade potato salad. The staff and owner are very friendly. Can't wait until next summer to go back.

Another incredible meal at DC Deli. I ordered the ribs and a side of pastrami because both of them are so good and I couldn't decide. My mom had the gumbo which was chock full of shrimp, sausage, chicken and okra with a deep dark roux; excellent and authentic. But back to the ribs; people talk about ribs falling off the bone, one of ours actually jumped off the bone, true story. They are sublime and I daydream about the pastrami and brisket. You MUST EAT HERE!! Thanks Candace and Boyd for another wonderful Door County dining experience. Delicious

Stopped here for breakfast on the way to Fall Fest in Sister Bay. Loved everything about it. I had the breakfast burrito, which was excellent. The salsa had just the right amount of heat. Good coffee and a very friendly staff. If this were in my home town I would be a regular.

Perfection. Homemade rolls, homemade potato salad and fries, meat that you don't need to chew because it is so tender. The soup was perfectly done as well. The only restaurant in door county you HAVE to eat in. This is it.

Great food! My husband ordered the brisket sandwich and it was amazing. Their smoked meats are tender and delicious. I got the gumbo and that was also cooked perfectly. The service was great and everyone was super friendly. We will be back.

My boyfriend and I had the wonderful opportunity to have breakfast at DC Deli. We would have to recommend the corn beef and hash, everything was made fresh to order. The view is breathtaking!!

We went here this past Sunday. We arrived at 1:30, sat down, and a waitress eventually came over to tell us they were out of food. They were open until 3. Others were waiting for food. Were they out of certain things or everything? We weren't given any options of what they may have still had. It was strange that food seemed to have just run out. With the competition for business in Door County this place won't last if they run out of EVERYTHING on a weekend in the summer. We won't be back.

I highly recommend the DC Deli in Baileys Harbor. They have a limited menu, only about 10 items but the few items they have they make very well. Despite the name they dont have deli sandwiches on the menu but rather tasty bbq entrees. I had the beef brisket sandwich and the meat had a visibly delicious smoke ring and the first bite was better than it looked. The bun on which the suculant meat sat only comlimented the smoked brisket. The rest of my family had the chicken sandwich, the pulled pork, the 1/3lb burger and the andouille po boy and none of them had a bad word to say. We sat outside overlooking rt 57 and Lake Michigan and had gorgeous weather which only improved my impresaion of dc deli. If you are passing through BH do your tastebuds a favor and enjoy the bbq at DC Deli!

Great place!!! My husband and I went there for lunch and sat on the patio. The owner was wonderful and brought us out a fresh water bowl for our dog. We split the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. The meat was perfect! The fries we nice and thick and the coleslaw was fresh and tasted great on the sandwiches. This place is definitely on the list to go back to next time we are in Door County!

DC Deli came highly recommended by the proprietress of the inn where we stayed. We nearly went to a pub that was closer, but the wait was too long for us, so we followed the recommendation and walked to DC Deli. It didn't have the ambience of some of the other places, but they MORE than made up for that with the best smoked meats we've ever had. Hubby had the baby back ribs, which were coated with a delicious cherry flavored BBQ sauce. It came with homemade garlic mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and wonderful cornbread. I had the andouille smoked sausage sandwich with peppers, onions, and pepper jack cheese. Just the right amount of heat. For dessert we shared the homemade apple pie. Half the diners were locals on a first name basis with the owner/waitress/bar maid/apple pie baker, Candice. Her husband smokes the meat and her daughter busses tables. They always say the locals know where to go for great food and I'm glad we followed their lead, didn't judge the simple decor, and had a great meal!
