Checked into this hotel after a bad night at the Marriott Farirfield Inn. The staff was great and very friendly. The room was very nice, they had a hot tub and a pool plus a good breakfast. Had problems with internet and TV but we were received free in room movies as compensation. I would stay here again, next time we are in the area. Close to the Mall and many restaurants.

The price for this hotel makes it most unbeatable. Also, free parking (which can't be said of every hotel nearby). The pool is very small, and the hottub very hot, but they exist. The workout room is small, just a treadmill and a bike, so there's some room for improvement. The room as quite large. I have two complaints. 1. The bed was very uncomfortable. Clearly the mattress was quite old, because there was a distinct body indent that I found uncomfortable. 2. The breakfast was bad. Nothing healthy, except a few very sad and bruised apples and oranges. We went out for breakfast one morning, but there are slim slim pickings on this side of the Appleton area. Overall I would likely stay again if I were to need to stay in Appleton, because the price was good. Also, the staff was very friendly. The facilties, like the breakfast area, were very clean. The room was also clean, with a good shower.

This review is long past due. I stayed earlier this year. Loved it so much that I returned a couple weeks ago. It was probably one of the times I have felt the most relaxed this year. Walking into the lobby it looks clean and pleasant. When I was in the lobby there were usually 2 front desk employees. Nice, not a long wait then. Front desk, pleasant people and helpful. It was apparent that they like what they do. Fresh homemade cookie as you register. Elevator ride to the room is short. Nice clean rooms. Ice and soda next to elevator each floor. First floor had snacks in vending machine. A/C easy to control. Quickly gets the room the temp that you like. Bathroom nice with one of those bulb heaters in the ceiling. One cup coffee brewers in the room with a micro and a fridge. Yeah! Usually I will purchase pop in the area and put it in the refrigerator. Did not this time. Soda pop by elevator was $1.50 a can. Just had maybe a can at night, so not bad. "Funky"( in a good way) shower head. You could turn it for various pulses. They had Bath and Body shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Nice. I slept like a baby and did not have any problems with the mattress. The light blocking curtains do the job! HOT breakfast. With a meat, eggs and hash browns. I like the fact that they have coffee in the lobby all the time and flavored creamers! Psssst.... can I tell you a secret? In the morning I bring my large fast food soda cup down with me. I fill it with ice before I get on the elevator. When I get downstairs I fill it with hot coffee and creamer. There you go! A large iced coffee! Yummy. I would like to see a larger pool but what can you do. Also they mention a "bar". The bar is in the lobby where the breakfast area is. It is spacious. A front desk person comes and makes your drink for you. So you can drink with your friends. It just is not what I expect for a bar. Just mentioning these. Not to stop you from coming. I was thinking of giving 4 stars because of the small pool. I just can't do it. Customer Service trumps it all! Anytime I needed something or had a problem they were there. They are on top of their game. Always pleasant, presentable, professional and friendly. I especially would like to mention Thomas at the front desk. He is a peach! I dealt with him most of the time. I was so relaxed that week and was enjoying the area so much. I asked if I could stay one more night. I originally planned on staying 4 nights. I ended up staying 5! I was able to get great price. Quality and price unbeatable. I am doing a 3-4 day weekend soon. I have reservations in Lake Geneva. I am seriously considering changing it to GrandStay instead. So glad I found this hotel on Yelp!

Came here for a weekend getaway. The hotel is very clean. The breakfast is nothing special. The rooms could use a second comfy chair and the TV be wall mounted so that its higher. The beds are very stiff. The pool is tiny and you can't swim in it. Little kids can play in it but that's about it. The hot tub is really hot and very relaxing! Workout area is tiny with only a few cardio machines and one sort of weight lifting machine. The mall is very close and there are many great restaurants near by. The staff are all friendly and I would stay here again.

I was less impressed than other reviewers here. First off, a little context, the GrandStay is a $90 hotel in a town with dozens of $50 hotels. The only other hotels in the $90 range are the Copperleaf (nice boutique hotel, worth the money) and the Radisson (a dump). So, back to the GrandStay. On the plus side, convenient to the airport, shopping, and a strip of okay chain restaurants. Rooms are big, with a frige and microwave, and the free hot breakfast is a nice bonus. That being said, they miss in a lot of small ways that would be soooo easy to fix: - Real coffee mugs and glasses in the rooms (and better coffee) - Working vending machines - the one on my floor was broken - Working exercise equipment - Higher grade bath amenities - Better pillows. There were a ton on my bed, which was great, but every one of them was lumpy and way too soft for me - Room service from the Machine Shed down the street. I'd take Bennigans over that place For $90 in this area, I expect a little more. I've given the GrandStay three tries, I think I'll go back to the Copperleaf.

I have to completely disagree with Karen who reviewed this past April. We were traveling in the area and found it on the net. We got a AAA rate of $83 for a king suite, a very reasonable price. I don't mind not having real glasses and mugs in exchange for a place that can control costs and in exchange offer reasonable rates. Our vending machine worked, the exercise room was very nice, the bath amenities were just fine, the pillows were comfortable. Unfortunately, you can't please everyone. But, this location has a staff that goes out of their way to be polite, courteous, friendly and very helpful. I will certainly return here again.

Great place to stay. Close to Fox Valley Mall and lots of good places to eat and shop. Large room, comfortable bed, clean. Staff was very friendly. Ask to stay on an upper floor. I was in the first room right next to the lobby, so it was a bit noisy. Free morning breakfast buffet was OK. Good if you're in a hurry as I was. I'll stay there again for sure!
