We stopped in for a quick dinner tonight based on a recommendation from our hotel concierge at the CopperLeaf Hotel. We tried cheese curds for the first time and found them to be similar to mozarrella cheese sticks. We also had the fried haddock filets for our entree and they were certainly acceptable! All in all, the value for the meal was definitely worth it. $10 total bill for the fried haddock dinner and 1/2 of the cheese curd appetizer! Nice wait staff, too.

Not too shabby! After hitting up Gordmans and a couple local shops, we headed to Bazil's for a beer. The menu vast, the choices good, the music at a reasonable level, and the service pleasant. Bazil's is actually in WI Best Tavern's book a friend of mine owns. She loves to hit up places like this and she was spot on. Check it out for a Schlitz and some tunes.

Best burger in town hands down. I build my own, double cheese burger, mayo, pickles, and fried onions. Their selection of beers is outstanding too. Although I haven't had a chance to attend any of their beer tastings, it's definitely on my list of things to do. Cheers

These guys have a HUGE selection of craft beers! I'm a big fan of this place for that reason, but it can get packed with people very quickly. If you don't get there early enough, you might want to consider going elsewhere if you want a seat.

Excellent stop for lunch. Great burgers, wraps, salads and sandwiches. Soup and lunch specials. Very affordable! (Not for kids , silly. It is a bar.)

Was told this place had really good burgers, so I decided to give them a try. While the burger I had was very good, I felt it was over priced for what you get. Almost $9.00 for just a burger, no side. If you want fries with that burger, they charge more. I like to have a side with my burger, and I like that side to be included in the price. For this reason alone, I will not be going back to this place.

Amazing beer selection and great ambiance! Staff is great and quick with service. If you want to try something new they have a sample paddle. Their menu has a great variety and you can always substitute to make it your own. Bloody Mary is best in the state of Wisconsin and in the summers they have an amazing patio. Favorite place to gather with friends, there chairs are so comfy;)

Excellent beer selection, always something new on tap and the staff is crazy knowledgeable about their beer. I love that they serve food til 1am and the bartenders never seem irritated if you order food.

I'm originally from the area, and came up with a large group of colleagues for a conference, and when they asked me to show them a good time on the Avenue. When we came in, the bartender asked to see all of our ID's. I understand that's par for the course, but none of us were obviously underage. The bartender's attitude is really what turned me and my colleagues off. She was short, terse, and when she would be a little more "friendly", she ended up making a racist comment. Further, she was really unhelpful when I asked about the Jutebox, and gave me a pissy attitude when I didn't say "please" when she asked if I wanted a refill on my drink. Honestly, the attitude is one thing, but the racist comment was another, and the real reason behind the 1 star. I will not be coming back.

I have been eating out every night for over a week now and my favorite place here in Appleton so far is Bazil's for sure! I had the Brat n Burger with fried onion lettuce and tomato and it was out of this world! The fries were also amazing! The cheese curds were not the best I ever had but still darn good!!! The marinara sauce is thick chunky and ice cold and just perfect to dip anything in, frankly I could have eaten it with a spoon! The beer selection is never ending and impressive to say the least!! The service was pretty good but I think as it got busier we became less of a priority it did not help that we were out of towners and we made the mistake of telling them this but the beer selection and amazing food out weighs any of the service shortfalls for sure! I wish this place was in Chicago for sure!

Super Bloody Marys, great beer selection that rotates frequently, BEST STAFF IN TOWN. A very fun bar for a happy hour or Sunday afternoon.

One of my favorite bars in Appleton. With all of the beer choices here, Matt the bartender (or any of the others) is (are) a good resource to recommend something different. Huge selections of beer and the opportunity to get your name added to their wall. To do it you have to drink the 100 beers on their list; no time limit to complete. Fun atmosphere. Order the garlic parmesan cheese curds.

I agree with Jeff A, this place has damn fine food and a great selection of beers. The bartender was super cool and knowledgable, really went the extra mile to make us happy. The menu is pub fare but in a good way, and it is pretty cheap for how good it is. I have eaten at some of the more pricey places in Appleton and wasn't anywhere near as satisfied as I was with this place. It's a toss-up between this place and Cleo's for my faves in town.
