I was disappointed when the Starbucks at 101 E. College Ave. closed, but my worries were quickly abated when I learned of a place that would sell bagels would be opening in its stead. I am a bagel fiend. If not for my will power, I would be happy to eat a bagel for breakfast (or lunch!) every day. It was only natural that I drop by Bagelicious as soon as possible (a few weeks after opening because I recently moved out of Appleton). The menu is filled with anything bagels. Bagel sandwiches? Check. Bagels with cream cheese? Check. Sweet AND savory bagels? Check. Sweet and savory cream cheeses? Check. The array of options was almost overwhelming for a bagel-lover like myself, but I ended up finally settling on the savory sun-dried tomato bagel with plain cream cheese. The friendly Bagelicious employee toasted my bagel in a jiffy while I paid a very affordable $3 or so. Both sides of the bagel were thick and puffy. In other words, this was a substantial bagel--not like something out of the freezer section at Festival Foods. The bagel was a pleasant balance between dense and airy, which is bagel perfection as far as my assessment of bagels go. The sun-dried tomato taste was exquisite because it wasn't just a flavor--there were real sun-dried tomatoes generously baked into the bagel. I took my bagel to-go because I had a Greyhound to catch back to a sadly Bagelicious-devoid Chicago, but there was ample seating for early-risers enjoying their bagels and coffee. I cannot wait for my next visit up to Appleton so that I can try more bagels! My only disappointment with Bagelicious is that the original Post Crescent article I read about its opening said smoothies would be on the menu, too. Bottles of pre-packaged Naked Juice are not really what I had in mind, but at least they're there for those interested (I'll stick to Copper Rock for my smoothies). But when it comes to bagels, look no further than Bagelicious!

Had a garlic bagel with egg, sausage and cheese and my fiancé had an asiago bagel with cream cheese. Bagels were fresh and the dude literally cracked the egg and cooked it up front! Overall, quite good! Coffee was pretty good too! They had a lot of other options as well. Looked like some good sandwiches for lunch and whatnot. Would definitely go back again!

Very good bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Best bagels in Appleton & Great flavor options. I tried the cheese bagel with egg. Friendly server. Disappointed they do not have decaf espresso options.

Great place for the only breakfast sandwich in downtown Appleton. Great wraps and bagels.

This place has the freshest, softest bagels ever! Their service is personable and friendly. They really want you to get what you want - they often have offered to make a bagel that they were out of stock of in the front. I had the french toast bagel with egg, cheese and bacon. I almost died I was so happy!!!

Not sure what all the fuss is about this place. Try someplace else. I travel the U.S. for a living, mostly -burgs & -villes east of Colorado, so when I hit a new town for the first time, Yelp is my go-to source for food. Woke up in Appleton looking for breakfast and Yelpers liked this place with 4-1/2 stars...pretty impressive. Not. Monday, 945am, perfect 62F spring morning for downtown business people to take a coffee break. I am (still) the only person in here*. $6.83: 1-1/2** house coffees, bagel w/cheese & sausage patty. Pros: + The French Toast bagel was great...world class, I'd say...believe THOSE reviews. Egg was fresh. "Munster" (sic) cheese was a nice option. + Free WiFi + Clean, airy, lots of windows, quiet* Cons: - Refills on self-serve coffee costs money? (Half-price**). C'mon :/ - Had to ask for half & half since I didn't see any amongst the coffee mate creamer packs. Maybe they hadn't gotten around to putting it out yet or something, but they pulled it out of a cooler case for me. - "Dark Roast" was actually LIGHTER than "House Blend". Misc: = Menu looked better for lunch bagels than breakfast bagel sandwiches. I included photos. = I guess, after reading the reviews, I expected a bit better quality coffee presentation from a place that leads its tag line with "Java" ("Bagels" is 4th on the list?) = The rave reviews lead me to assume that Appleton suffers from a drought of good bagels and breakfast sandwiches downtown. Next time I am in Appleton, I'll choose to go somewhere else and rekindle the newly-challenged Great Villeburg Breakfastquest. It's my density. Why not 2 stars? Place was clean, bagel was great, price of bagel was good. Why not 4 stars? Paying for coffee refills seems a petty thing to charge. Carpe Mangia (Update: 1020am...2 other people here now)

Great stop on the way to Lawrence campus. Had a great egg on everything bagel sandwich. Service was fast and friendly, plenty of room to sit and enjoy it.
