Cute location, great environment, fun decorations, nice staff. And most importantly: GREAT FOOD. Being a milwaukeean, I am convinced that if this place was in Milwaukee it would become one of the new trend restaurants faster than you can say Antojitos. Food is great, fresh, fun presentation, and a reasonable price. Dishes are all around $10 or less. (And drinks were pretty cheap too)

First time here. The staff is extremely friendly. We came in on a Saturday morning during the farmers market for some brunch. The food was amazing. They start you with the traditional chips, salsa and beans. This was some of the best salsa I have had. We ordered Huevos Rancheros and Mexican Nachos. Both were excellent. They like to use cilantro, so if you like cilantro, you will love this place. The only knock on this place is the chairs they have. Small and kind of uncomfortable. Other than that, I highly recommend it. One of the hottest new places on College Avenue in Appleton.

What a FABULOUS family run Mexican restaurant on College Ave. The food was GREAT & the service was FRIENDLY & HELPFUL. They were SWAMPED when we dropped in for a bite during the Mile of Music, still only a 15 minute wait, which passed quickly people watching, and watching the waitstaff fly around the restaurant. The guacamole was a little bland, but I'm sure they would spice it up upon request. They have a vegetarian menu available upon request & the vegetarian fajitas were a hit with this vegan! Authentic, fresh, & tasty!!!

Finally, authentic Mexican food in Appleton. They have done a great job with the decor in their new location. The menu is wide-ranging and everything I try is right on. The tequila flight is the best call for beverages. We are becoming regulars!!

Great atmosphere, great food, and vegetarian friendly! We sat outside, but I recommend sitting inside because the College Ave traffic was annoying. Besides, the interior is very well done! As a veg-head, I ordered a la carte and the sopes were my favorite. Nopalitos and Queso Fresco were my options, I think. My husband really enjoyed his chilaquiles too! They have a vegetarian menu, but are accommodating to customize something for you. Very friendly staff. Yummy chips and salsas.

My husband and I ate here twice since they've been open. We had brunch one Saturday and it was very good, I liked the breakfast tacos, they were light. I had the chicken rice bowl for lunch and it was AWESOME, I'd definitely get that again. My husband had a variety of gorditas including pork, pork skin, and cactus, which were good. The pork was pretty spicy. He liked the cactus the best.

Incredible food and margarita's. My family meets here for our Mexican food fix! So authentic and delicious! The menu offers such a variety that I have tried different dishes each time and have always been so impressed with the flavors and presentation....Yummy! You can't go here and NOT get a margarita! The margarita flights are a great way to try different flavors and decide your favorite....cucumber, jalapeño, cilantro, original are a few choices they offer. The atmosphere is warm, beautiful, clean and inviting. I feel like I'm right in a Mexican Cantina! The staff has always been friendly and service is great! Looking forward to our next visit!

Clearly beauty is in the eye of the beholder. While visiting family in the area, we decided to try Antojitos. The family said they had a questionable experience the first time they were there, but we decided to give it another shot. Maybe they were just having a bad night previously. Well unfortunately they were having another bad night during my visit. On arrival we were greeted by stone faced hostesses who could barely mutter a greeting. We were then placed at a table where we all sustained knee damage while trying to sit. For some reason this restaurant has a table in it that by design does not allow you to put your legs under it. We literally had to sit with our knees spread open at 180 degrees. This is neither comfortable or a good look so we requested another table. We were literally dismissed and told to wait for another table or get a table in the bar since they are first come first served. Thankfully a party in the bar was leaving and we sat down again. About 12 minutes later a server finally arrives and takes our drink order. Everybody's order but mine. She just turned and walked away as I was waiting my turn. About 10 minutes after that drinks finally appear and she places one in front of me. I hand it back to her and say, "This isn't mine. The reason I know it isn't mine is because you never took my order." She mutters incoherently and asks me what I want. About 10 minutes later, I'm finally served a drink. That makes it 30 minutes into this experience and we haven't even ordered dinner yet. We order chips and guacamole as an appetizer. About 10 minutes later they arrive, but the guacamole is not prepared tableside as the menu indicates. Whatever. Time to order entrees. This time the server remembers me and I order a burrito... something nice and simple, relatively hard to screw up, and should be pretty quick. About 20 minutes later food arrives. Everyone's entrees are served to them on plates, but my burrito is served to me on a wood cutting board and has already been cut in half. What is this? Wood cutting boards can become easily tainted with bacteria and generally speaking are pretty gross. Who thinks it's a good idea to serve food on them and who cut my burrito? Never in my life have I been served a cut burrito before. So the server basically just drops the food on the table and splits. I don't even have the opportunity to ask for a proper plate. By now I'm just completely irritated by this place and stop the first employee I see and tell them to bring me a plate. I get one and take my first bite. The thing is stone cold in the center. You'd think that since someone actually cut it in half they would have felt it was cold. They either didn't or served it anyway. This begs the question. Was this food not made to order? Did they just throw something in the microwave? How would the center of a burrito not be heated if this was made to order? Now all I can think about it how long this food was sitting out and how old the meat was. The server never checks on us during our meal. When she finally arrives with the check she asks is something was wrong with mine. I told her it was cold when it was served. She asks if I want something else. I tell her just the check so I can get out of there and go eat dinner someplace else. No manager ever comes to the table to offer an apology. No apology from the server. Nothing. Also during this time two people in our party are basically blinded by either cleaning chemicals or pepper fumes in the air. My nephew had been waiting to use the restroom, but unfortunately they only have individual toilets. Someone had been locked in the men's room for over 20 minutes so there was no other option. Tip to the restaurant. If you're going to have single person bathrooms, make them unisex. We pay the bill and leave without a goodbye from anyone. This place needs work starting with the staff. Very socially awkward people all around. Very uninviting and very much not service oriented. We'll never go back which is unfortunate. The family is from Texas and I'm from California. We're always looking for at least semi-passable Mexican food in the area. This place failed miserably.

This was our third time at this restaurant. Things have taken a turn for the worse since 6 weeks ago. Stopped in for mid afternoon margaritas and a snack. Could not stand the cleaning products smell and returned up front for a table. Tray of salsas with chips had two the same, heavy on onions. No fresh tomato/cilantro :-( side of guacamole was inedible. Could not even tell if it was a fresh avocado, it was so loaded with crunchy onion bits. Not going back. Service was OK but not very friendly. Way better quality at Chipolte.

Third try was the charm! First visit was just "ok". Second visit I was disappointed with the quality of the vegetables in the veggie fajita. Last night went for a third time with a large group and had the most fantastic server back in the bar area. She was so good and attentive and helpful that she made up for prior visits so I'm upgrading my rating.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant!! Great location, service & food. Everything is so fresh and flavorful! I ordered ala carte and it was great to try a little something different. They have a flight of infused margaritas that I am going to try next time. Excited to go back.

EXTREMELY SLOW SERVICE!!! Arrived around 7pm, sat down, and ten minutes later someone finally came by. Drinks took about 15 minutes to get to us and we were right next to the bar! Appetizer was extremely late and so was the food. We had to constantly wave down our server for service and didn't even get water until after our food arrived. I ordered a steak fajita quesadilla and got chicken (oh well) and was let down with what was plated. Also, our checks were messed up to top off the night....most likely will not be returning.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
