Love the place. My brother suggested we go here. Great food and service. The darn best Cheese/bacon burger. And man the fries they remind me of the French Fries I had in Paris years ago. Not exactly the same but when a restaurant can make french fries that are crispy on the outside and moist in the inside and not drowning in oil, they know what they are doing.

Words cannot express my love for this restaurant and the great staff that always gives you a smiling face. Great food at a very reasonable price. I personally have only been going for breakfast lately, but their dinner menu is just as good. 3 Egg Combo is the best deal on breakfast in Eau Claire. 3 eggs (best eggs around) 2 pancakes (thick and delicious) Bacon -crispy, but not too much, and hashbrowns. All for around $8. This staff has primarily been together since I started going. Always friendly and make it easy to want to keep coming back.

This establish has excellent food, fresh meat never frozen. Excellent Waitresses, especially Johanna. Try the homemade soups.

Solid breakfast choice but lacked the local flavor I was hoping for. Think Perkins / Baker Square-ish in size and atmosphere. The menu has a long list of omelets. I tried the country omelet, oozing with (hopefully local) cheddar cheese and bits of sausage, and topped with white sausage gravy. The gravy didn't contain pan drippings so was a little bland on its own, but it was good with the eggs. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, fluffy/moist inside. Service was friendly and efficient.

The basic breakfast I had here. The service was good, the food was a typical American food. Quick service

Stopped around this area while driving to Minnesota. We were looking for a place that wouldn't take too much out of our driving time and this place fit the bill. Fast and friendly service. Food was like having a home cooked meal. Eggs weren't runny, the bacon was cooked just right, and the toast wasn't burnt. Perfect way to start the day

I've tried eating at Altoona Family Restaurant a few times and have never really been pleased. I feel like everything I've ordered has been under seasoned. Also, I found hair in my scrambled eggs once and that was the last time I went.

Meh To be fair, I've never had their breakfast items which I've heard are good but their lunch and dinner food is just blah. Lacks flavor but I guess still better than Perkins. Staff is friendly and it's a hometown grub joint so I'll give it another chance and maybe revise the rating.

Short and sweet: best breakfast, cheap food, EXTREMELY quick service, and friendly owners. Oh yeah, and your coffee will never be empty. You pretty much have to fight the guy off of your cup.

Best place to eat in the Eau Claire area. Coffee is poured sometimes before you sit down. The staff is also the best. Food also is very good.

skillet was bomb!

Best breakfast in town. Pancakes are the best you can find in Eau Claire. Your coffee cup will never be allowed to go empty. Greek skillet and Farmer skillet are my favorite...always with pancakes instead of toast. Great service. Owners very personable.

Service is the best around! Your coffee/soda/iced tea will never be empty. Great homestyle cooking. Wonderful variety of food. You will be welcomed on your first visit, and you will be a regular on your second visit!
