Had the barbeque dinner the ribs were excellent. The food portions were good, prices were great and service was friendly. The pie selection was extensive, but alas, i had too much dinner. My friend had the peanut butter and chocolate and was pleased with her choice. The menu has something for everyone. I recommend the corn bread as a matter of fact, I could take a pan of that and a fork and be fully satisfied. It melts in your mouth. YUM. Try this place, you will not be disappointed. Prices are great too!

Great little breakfast joint! The other reviews were accurate, so I encourage you to visit, especially since small operations like this need customer support when national chains are taking over. I had the 6-slice French Toast platter and my wife opted for the Chicken Fried Steak auth some biscuits and gravy. We had wanted to do the buffet, but they'd had a problem with one of the heating trays, so food wasn't warm after 10 minutes on the line. The waitresses were very friendly, and (something rare these days) ASKED if we wanted our drinks topped off. The only issue I had was the high-school kids sitting behind us. Some 14 (or so) year old gal was yammering on her cell about how her cousin 'disrespected her'. About every third word wasn't appropriate for a family restaurant. It wasn't the staffs job to stop her, but I'm certain her parents would have been horrified by it... We also swung back later that same night for a few pieces of pie (during Happy Hour). My wife was ecstatic over the Dutch Apple, while I had the Pecan a la mode. Since we couldn't decide what to get, we also took a few sliced of Coconut Creme back to our RV. They were great for dessert a few days later when we got home. I look forward to returning to Wenatchee next year, and a trip to Prospector Pies will definitely be on the agenda!

Had a meeting that lasted till 8 p.m. On a Sunday night. Was the only place I saw open on the way to the motel. Had the burger special with a pie. Was all very good at a good price.

This place certainly does not have that diner feel, though I do not think they claim to. You walk in and it definitely looks like an old timey pioneer style restaurant. I am lead into a dining area past a breakfast buffet which I decide to pass up due to another review and the looks of it. It looks fine, but it looks like the buffet at your local hotel. I ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs breakfast combo. Again, everything was fine. Definitely nothing to write home about. Service was a little slow, but very nice AND they made up for the lack of other service by always managing to keep my coffee full. I think there were two helpers, the server and then the coffee ninja. I really wanted to try the pie, and I may go back just to get pie (hence the name and other reviews), but I have had better breakfast for the same price elsewhere without having to wait around like I ordered dinner at a crowded restaurant.

Who would have thought while visiting a quaint little town like Wenatchee we would eat the best pie ever? They served up some delicious pie! That's what we went for and that's what we had! Pie happy hour 9pm to close. $1.59 a slice. There was 5 of us so I tried chocolate cream, raspberry creme, peanut butter chocolate creme, lemon creme, and coconut creme. They were all very delicious and definitely homemade. The server girl was sweet as pie and attentive, even tho we just had pie and soft drinks. My mom ordered coffee and the sweet waitress was pleasant when she advised us she would have to brew a fresh pot. If your debating on visiting Prospector Pie.. Go!

We've been yelping as we travel for the last few months and on our recent trip to Wenatchee YELP brought us to Prospector Pie's. I am a freak for all-day breakfast, and was thrilled that another reviewer promised breakfast for dinner. I'll tell you this - you have to ask for the breakfast menu if that's what you are craving, they are happy to bring it out. The restaurant has FANTASTIC dinner specials for just $8.99. My friend had the smoked chicken special with fresh cornbread and honey, salad, grilled mushrooms, and a slice of pie. (Yep, it's all included.) We were both surprised at how well the chicken was cooked. When he touched his fork to it, the chicken fell off the bone. It was perfectly seasoned and the smoke flavor was outstanding. We both couldn't get over how tasty the mushrooms were, not sure what process they went through, but they were quite delectable. I ordered a breakfast scramble with bacon and veggies. This was not your chain restaurant breakfast. Every single ingredient was cooked to perfection - and I promise I'm a FINNICKY breakfast eater. The portions were perfect throughout. I didn't have so much that I couldn't finish or wanted a doggy bag, but I didn't have so little that I was left hungry. (The smoked chicken dinner was also perfectly portioned.) The special came with a slice of pie, so we tried the raspberry pie. Made with fresh raspberries, this pie had a great crust - not too dry, just flaky enough. They have at least twenty options for pie, so there's definitely something for everyone. The service was excellent and the décor is fun. If you are in Wenatchee, you really should try Prospector Pies and Sarge's Smoke Stack. You absolutely cannot beat the price and the food is unbelievably good. We'll definitely be going back!

Pie Happy Hour! Need I say more?! 2-4pm or after 9, go get some delicious pie for a buck fifty-nine. My hubs loves pie and whenever we find ourselves near Wenatchee, we stop and score a slice or ten. Nothing fancy, this place predates the gourmet bakery trend, just a great tasting pie. Tasty crust, yummy filling, complete with real fruit. Dutch apple for my sweet tooth, raspberry for the tart-lovin hubs, we're good to go. Whole pies come in a real pie tin, return it on your next visit for a discount on your next pie. The place doesn't look like much, but it's worth a stop if you're looking for fresh made pie near Wenatchee. Easy on the wallet, easy on the taste buds.

Stopped in for breakfast with co workers and had the buffet because it was quick. Not a fan of buffets in general, and this one didn't do anything to change my opinion. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will reserve opinion until I have something fresh out of the kitchen. We do support local businesses almost exclusively, just don't go out all that often.

This is a very solid offering if you stick with what they do very well, and what they do well - they do very well. Now if you think you're going to be getting Schultze's of Texas BBQ (in Rosenburg, Texas - smokey heaven) or if you're from the Pacific Northwest Dixies - sorry, you will be disappointed. This is basic food, done very, very well. The BBQ ribs are excellent, the bones fall right off the meat is tender with a smoky flavor, the BBQ sauce tastes molasses based, but has a smoky twinge to it. The BBQ beans are multiple beans, smoky, spicy, sweet with pieces of pulled pork in it. The salad bar is well stocked, and the chili is very good, although I would prefer more meat, with a lot of different types of beans (sorry, didn't count through them). For $3.95 you can a six ounce steak to an meal. Ya. You read that right. Now I set the bar REALLY low for my steak given the price point and my preference for medium-rare bloodiness. What came out was a sirloin, grilled perfectly to medium rare with outstanding flavor. Wow! My only complaint on my meal was the pulled pork was dry - what a shame, and I would be more harsh had I not eaten here in the past and not had the same experience. The pie I had was OK, I wish the lemon had more flavor, but it was a solid offering. My dinnermates had banana cream and it was very good. This place isn't hip, it isn't cool, what it is is very reasonably priced food, prepared very well, with a lot of options.

Perfectly fine on most fronts if you're interested in basic coffee shop food with a slightly rugged flair. Open on Sunday nights, on which all other restaurants in Wenatchee seem to be closed, with the exception of Taco Loco.

I've been by twice now in the two weeks since I moved to Wenatchee. The food is pretty good, but it's really the pies you go for. They're classic diner fare. The waitresses are friendly, the decor is kitschy, the refills are free and the pie is fabulous!

My family and I were out about town and decided to try Prospector pies. We make the MISTAKE of ordering the soup and salad bar without looking at it first. It was a weeknight about 7pm. The salad bar was very sparse and there was no soup. We had not been told that the soup part of the soup and salad bar was not an option by our waitress. Did I mention the Salad Bar was sparse. I am talking some brown lettuce, frozen peas, cucumbers and mushrooms.. the rest of what ever was there was empty. We told the waitress about this and did not so much as get an apology. It was just after this we left.

One of my favorite breakfast restaurants in the valley! It's locally owned and operated on Wenatchee Avenue. They recently had a menu make over with Sarge's BBQ incorporated with the original Prospector Pies menu, but still the same restaurant with their famous pies made fresh daily! One of my favorite breakfast dishes that I discovered there is the Brisket Omelette... it is D-lish! They have brunch on Sundays, I don't remember the time, but it is quite a good selection! They do serve the breakfast menu all day... OH! and they have good steaks too!

Visited on a Friday evening around 6 pm. It had been some time since we had come back to this place after a rather not so pleasant experience several years ago. The booths and decor are still the same but they have upgraded the menu. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger and my husband had the salad bar. The corn bread was great though I have to say. The burger was very very hot! Overall it was a decent place. Still mostly what I remember.

We left. Only had drinks. Dirty, menu outdated and tattered. Waitress though tried very hard. Hope she looks for another restaurant to work in.

We went in there with a big group (25+) which they did a good job of accommodating. Unfortunately, there were two waitresses serving the group and there was a definitely a difference between them. One, the manager, was fantastic. She was on top of it and even offered free cornbread and a discount for the problems that came up. The other, deer in the headlights, was horrible. She messed up just about every order and drink orders. I order one kind of beer and she brings something different. Understandable if she had not already brought one of the flavor I had already asked for. The food was good. They ran out of ribs on a Sat. night which is not good planning. I had the pulled pork which was great and chicken which was ok. They don't have a great beer selection and it is a bit pricey for being bottled. The food is very reasonably priced. I would recommend giving this place another shot. But because my waitress was the bad one, I can only give it a 3 star. The others who had the other waitress would probably rate them a 4 or 5 being how well she handled the rest of the group.

Our service was horrible! Took our waitress about 30 min to get our order and they didn't offer coffee or anything to drink! Didn't refill our water! Very disappointed!!! They were two young waitresses so I imagine they didn't want to work on the memorial holiday! They weren't very friendly either! Will not to back!

I was so happy with this place! Food was cheap, large portions and the waitress was super nice! They even have a breakfast buffet for like 8$? This place is my new favorite mom and pop breakfast place!

This place is horrible. It is called Prospector Pies; however there were only five pies in their "showcase". I think part of the issue was that my wife and I were about 30 years too young to eat there. The food was disgusting and Denny's would have been 10 times better.
