Mac and cheese was divine and just the right serving. For dessert we had the Chocolate Cremeux, which was amazing. Chocolate mousse, hazelnut, with passion fruit syrup. And the service was impeccable, attentive and providing guidance but not intrusive.

Wonderful food and service. When I return to the area I will definitely be back. Sangria was good, but the food is AMAZING!!!

Yummy! We had the manila clam and the butternut squash ravioli, along with a red wine flight. To top off the meal, we had the Tropic Dreams. The manila clam dish had a wonderful spicy coconut flavor with delicious homemade pasta. The ravioli were extremely large, filled with yummy cheese and topped with melt-in-your-mouth flavor bursts. Would definitely have these two entrees again. The red wine flight was surprisingly good, and we were given a small informative tasting guide (Written by an English professor with a sense of humor. However, we have no proof of this "fact"). This would have been a five star experience except for the dessert, Tropic Dreams, which was definitely eye appealing and fresh tasting, just not to our personal tastes this evening. That doesn't mean that someone else might not really enjoy it. Our waitress, Alyson, was very attentive and pleasant.

Dined here for the first time while in town visiting with a small group of 8. The appetizer and entree portions was very small (we left and went out afterwards to another restaurant for appetizers because we were still hungry), the waitress was rude, impatient & acted like she wanted to be anyplace but there.

We were at the restaurant last night 8/29/15. Food was very good! However, we were a party of 6 seated upstairs between a party of 10 women and another party of 8. They were both so noisy we could not hear each other speak. Very distracting snd ruined our dinner and out visit with our friends from Walla Walla. Would never go again and sit upstairs.

Not worth the price. The mussels were ok but that was the highlight, and not much at that. The bread was dry and lacked taste. I had the bolognese which tasted on par with hamburger helper. My wife's small piece of halibut was good but the four slices of potato that came with it were flavorless. Save your money for a nice meal elsewhere if you can find it. One would think they'd have tried their dishes before putting them on a menu. I'd have been much happier at an Olive Garden sadly enough. Service was decent though.

Pork shank was 'fall-off-the-bone' delicious! Pear salad was good. And home made Gelatos were excellent. The service was superb!! Go there....you'll definitely enjoy it!!!

The food was ... It tasted like airplane food. Nice, first class Air France airplane food, but airplane food nonetheless. Bland, overcooked, poor texture, over seasoned, and disappointing. Add in the exorbitant pricing, and I can be sure I won't return. There are many great restaurants in Walla Walla. The only reason to go here is if you can't get a table somewhere else. And even then, I'd still skip it.

Party of eight dropped by late afternoon on a Sunday. We had impeccable service. The salads were huge, the soups, just right; right size, right temperature. We passed on the wine list as we had been tasting since 10AM and had some more to do.

We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and understood when we had to wait for a table. We were kept waiting an additional five minutes past our reservation time even though we could see that there were empty tables inside. There was some explanation about how "our" table still had guests in it but they could seat us at a different table. We were seated a few minutes after our reservation time, and immediately placed our dinner order with our drink order at 7:05 pm. Our appetizers arrived at 7:30. The server who was mostly absent during the meal brought bread during this time. We finished the appetizers and began the wait for our entrees. At 8:05 they finally brought them out with an apology for the delay, and an explanation that the kitchen was backed up due to a large party "upstairs." Frankly I don't care about what is going on in another part of the restaurant. If they can't handle the business, they shouldn't accept reservations. All the while I had freezing cold air blowing from an A/C vent directly on me. It was miserable, and when my meal still hadn't arrived 55 minutes after ordering it, I really wanted to just walk out. We were never asked if we wanted another drink, and the server returned when we were more than halfway through our meals to see how everything was. At that point we asked for the check--we wanted to finish eating and get out of there before we turned into icicles. The food was OK, certainly not worth a 55 minute wait in a meat locker. Additionally the noise level was so high that we had a hard time hearing each other. I would never return, and would never recommend this restaurant.

We always leave this restaurant happy. The atmosphere is nice, the people are nice, the service is great, and the food is always very good( and sometimes completely amazing) Consistancy is hard to find these days...T.Macs achieves this !

We were surprised to find the food served was only average, with exception of the gazpacho which was excellent. Service was good.

The food was excellent. Cannot say enough about it. The ambient noise was very loud. My wife and I couldn't hear each other and needed to love to an outside table.

When our prior dinner plans didn't work out we were glad to see that we would be able to try a restaurant that we had not been to before. We were greeted warmly by a nice young man and shown to our cozy table. Neil, our waiter took good care of us. The macaroni and cheese appetizer is delicious and you may think you will share it but when you receive it that won't happen. It is on the filling side if you do horde it to yourself though. I also enjoyed the halibut. I was pleased to see that it was cooked nicely and was fresh and delicious. My dinner companion had the lamb gnocchi which was a very generous portion of lamb but a little on the dry side. The gnocchi were different than regular gnocchi; they tasted more like little bits of fried mashed potatoes. All in all we had a lovely dinner and experience.

Came here for patio lunch on a beautiful day in early August to sober up between wine tastings. We ordered the seafood pasta, and the bolognese. The patio was nice and sunny, with decent service, pretty planters and a quiet street making for a very pleasant atmosphere. We asked if the bolognese pasta could be substituted for pappardelle, and they accommodated us which was nice. The pasta was homemade and had a great thinnest paired with slight elasticity. The sauce was nice and meaty, though it should be noted that it was creamy instead of tomatoey. While I know there is normally milk in a traditional bolognese, the cream is a surprising (but not unwelcome in our case) change. The seafood pasta was okay. Spicy, but the mussels were not as fresh as they should be for $18, which detracted from the overall experience. Maybe ask them when they got their mussels in before ordering this dish. There was quite a bit of broth to mop up, and by default they "don't bring out focaccia at lunch", but they accommodated without much fuss. In short, good service that accommodates requests, a nice patio, and overall well prepared dishes except be vigilant with the seafood. A nice spendy stop when visiting wine country.

The Mac and Cheese is really good with the right amount of truffle oil. The smoked mussels are very good also. Nice and friendly staff.

A very nice meal after our first day in Walla Walla. Recommended by the nice lady at the WW Tourism kiosk on Main St., we immediately trotted over to make reservations for the evening. The restaurant is very conveniently located and has plenty of room, but still makes you feel like you're in a small bistro. Sam, our server, was helpful throughout the evening, both with suggestions and attention. While looking over the wine list, he recommended the signature T. Maccarones red blend for $40. After a day of tasting, this wine worked just fine for us. I had the Pesto Tagliatelle and my bride had the Bolognese. House made pasta was delicious and like every other place in WW, they made sure you get enough to eat. I wish we would have had room at the beginning and end of the meal for more because the dishes coming out of the kitchen all looked fantastic.

The food and cocktails were very good but be ready for a long evening. Went on a Sunday night at 630 and left at 830 and we skipped dessert. Friendly but 2 hours is just too long for us. Restaurant was not that busy so I have to assume this is the norm.

Pretty much the worst service we have had. Had reservations for 6:45. Said that they were running about 10min behind, but wouldn't allow us to at least go to the bar while waiting. After 15min we just went there regardless and stood there for another 20min. When I went back to the front desk there was no one there so actually had to call them in order to have someone come out to check on our table. Said it would be another 10min. While waiting at the bar, we were talking about the long wait when come to find out the owner over hood us and said "is there a problem here?" After explaining the situation he didn't offer any apologizes and literally just walked off in the middle of the conversation. I would never go back and would tell everyone to stay clear of this place!

If you're looking for good old Italian food, this is not the place! The food was a huge disappointment and expensive too. The service was slow, although there were only a couple of other tables that were seated besides us. We won't be back.

  • Todd C.

We started with a local Viognier that paired fantastically with the fried pork belly, which was delectable. My wife had the pepper crusted NY and I had the Tagliatelle Italiano, both were spectacular. Sunset on the outdoor patio was the finishing touch on this experience.

Very good food and service. It's a bit less pricey than The Marc or Whitehouse but the food is very close in quality. Wine list is good too.

This is a fantastic place and a "must go" if you're in Walla Walla! The drinks were great, the Mac & Cheese was AMAZING with a little truffle oil in it. The service was excellent and Mr. Maccarone was a fun host. We will come back again and again!

We went last night with my girlfriend. We could not get a table before 9 on a saturday. This is a rather small place and a little happening for locals to go out. The food was very good overall, we had the antipasto (nicely done), the tenderloin (extremely well cooked) and salmon (also quite good). The price was right for the quality of the food. The wine selection is also good and not overpriced, I thought that even their "house" wine was very decent (of course it is in Walla Walla so one could expect good wine). The staff was very good and our waitress was great. We asked to be re-seated and the staffed handled it quite well. As said in other reviews, this is a little loud when it is full, so not very "intimate" but this is still a very nice place, I will definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

"Awful food for a way too high price" Reviewed June 3, 2014 NEW This place was recommended by our hotel and had decent reviews on both Tripadvisor and yelp. This place is overrated. We ordered a salad and the fuitta di mar suggested by our waiter. Our first course salad was not flavorful and less than ordinary. Service was not great. We had to ask if bread was served as other people were served bread. When the entrees came, my husband's mussels were so bad he spit it out his first bite. The sauce was insipid. The staff was nice enough to replace the dinners with the clam fettuccine. This dish was ok but not worth the price. The prices were near what we paid at the Marc but the quality was poor. I suggest you pay slightly more and get a brilliant meal at The Marc.

Oh yum! Walla Walla isn't exactly Little Italy, so I wasn't quite sure what to expcect of this restaurant. But it was a treat! The chewy rustic bread went so well with the firecracker prawns, and the Pappardelle was as good as anything I've had in Boston's North End. Even the "house" Super Tuscan was a cut above many of the San Giovese blends you find in the tasting rooms that line Main St. So sorry that home for us is 3000 miles away. If we lived here, we'd be regulars.

This a is a wonderful restaurant. Food is excellent. The scallops and salmon were awesome. The Abeja wine is wonderful. Service is very personal. This is among our favorite restaurants every time we visit. Our daughter is at Whitman College. We will be here often!

Very very pleasantly surprised with T. Maccarones! I was here with 15 other women for a bachelorette dinner and what an incredible experience! T. Maccarones exceeded my expectations starting with food to the impeccable customer service. Lets start with food. I split some T Mac and Cheese along with Ahi tuna tartare with 2 other girls. For my main entrée I got the Manila clams with smoked pork belly, jalapeno, green curry and spinach fettuccine!! T Mac and Cheese lived up to its expectation, the appetizer was not overwhelmingly creamy or runny. The bread crumbs gave a great crunch to the appetizer! It was perfect to the point of addicting! On the other hand the tuna tartare was very refreshing and light. Again, I was a little skeptical about seafood but T. Mac definitely delivered. As far as the clams were concerned, the entrée sounded complex but the flavors mixed very well. I wouldn't have imagined spinach fettuccine to go so well with green curry. If you like spicy food, make sure to order the clams. The jalapenos gave a great kick to the entire dish!!! The downside was all the condiments overpowered the clams a little bit, but I'd still take it. I also have to give it to them for handling a group of 15 people so well! They gave us a private dining area at no extra cost, split up the check for everyone with no errors and overall were very attentive and warm. On top of that there was no gratuity enforced for a big group of people. The server also participated in fun bachelorette games that were going around the table!! We couldn't have gotten a gourmet experience at a reasonable cost anywhere else. If I had to visit Walla Walla again, I would definitely stop by T. Maccarones for a meal. I'd also highly recommend it for a big group of people! Overall a very good experience!

We dined with another couple on Friday night at T. Maccarones. We are all accustomed to fine dining in large cities and did not know what to expect in Walla Walla. From the first interaction with the waiter to the last minute it was a wonderful experience. The craft cocktails were as good as any in a large city. The apps, entrees, desserts were well prepared and well presented. All in all, it was a wonderful evening and we will return.

This was so good that we went back two nights in a row. We had completely different dishes each night, and both nights was AMAZING. Wonderful Spinach & Chanterelle Mushroom Salad, the best steak I have ever had "RR Ranch Tenderloin", and a chocolate dessert that I still dream about. I am normally not a fan of chocolate dessert, I think most are simply too sweet. This was chocolate perfection. It was called "Down the Rabbit Hole", and I truly felt like Alice in Wonderland eating that dessert, it was simply magical.

I like this place - they have Abeja as a house wine and that sets the tempo off just right. The Mac cheese makes a good appetizer as well. For dinner between my entree and all the sharing I was able to enjoy the ciopinno, the sausage bolognese and halibut. I like the pasta added to the ciopinno but felt this dish was a bit salty. The pasta bolognese was excellent with the fresh made pasta as the standout of this dish. The halibut portion was generous and the fish cooked to perfection on the second attempt. Almost forgot, the Cesar salad was excellent with the lettuce cooked a bit as a nice added touch. For dessert we tried a chocolate Carmel cake and it did the job. TMac is a great Walla Walla restaurant that is on our radar with every visit.

Had a delightful dinner here after a day of Walla Walla wine tasting. Tempura asparagus was fresh and tasty, although a bit heavy on the batter. Pappardelle pasta was divine, make sure to ask for additional bread to get all of the scrumptious sauce. Land and Sea is a clever, tapas-like presentation of lamb and scallops. Very good selection of desserts, but we elected to share a taste of maple whiskey... Yummo!

We ate here 2 years ago with friends and really enjoyed it, so we were happy to go back. Unfortunately, despite making a reservation 2 months in advance, we were seated at a table with a view of the dumpsters. It was like summer in Tuscany. Worse, it's in an area immediately across from the bar which seems to act as a funnel for every drunken cry -- it all gets directed into that space. There was one shrill patron at the bar and every time she spoke up, our whole section winced. The food followed suit. The Sazerac was watered down and was made without Peychaud's bitters (which is kind of key in a Sazerac), the pear salad had a mayonaise-y dressing instead of the white truffle vinegarette the menu indicated, and the pork shank lacked the richness you would expect, instead it was a bit cloying in it's sweetness -- the sort of dish you rush through to have it be over, which is a shame for a $30 plate. On the other hand, the carpaccio was flavorful enough and the crab agnolotti was certainly filled with crab (though also bits of shell). It was ok. But just ok, and for the price there are better options.

I came here before a Shakespeare play recently and sat outside on the sidewalk. You know, pretending like I was in Paris, but not. Since time was limited, we ordered the grilled octopus starter and a Sangria. The octopus was in a tomato-based sauce that was light but spicy (in a good way). I shared this but definitely could have eaten the whole thing myself. I also had a few bites of the antipasto (spelled according to their menu) that one of my tablemates had ordered. Wow, taste sensations galore. If you are looking for a light snack, that would definitely be my vote. The Sangria (red) was of high quality.

Get: Macaronni & Cheese appetizer ($13) Running off the fumes of memories of a stop at T. Mac years ago - my wife and I tucked into a corner spot near the bar of this fancy-schmancy restaurant (easily detectible by bowls that look like plates yet carry tiny portions). Service was excellent and, eyeballing other diners, the service was consistent throughout and across all servers / hosts. The food did not match our loving memory. It may have been wearing the same fancy outfit, but the occupant of the clothing was a bit of a putz. Since we're cheap, we ordered three inexpensive items: Macaronni and Cheese appetizer (our most specific memory of the venue), Sweet Onion soup ($10) (try and find an onion that is NOT sweet in Walla Walla - fun game), and the Pear Salad ($11). Portion + taste + value did not equal a great score as only the Macaronni was above average - and even so, it wasn't life altering. The soup was fine and the salad was fine, but what stood out? Presentation perhaps - but the taste was just mid-level. And when paying the price of 2 flights of wine tastings for a small portion of soup, I would hope that my shoes and socks get shot across the room with a flavor explosion. Positives: Incredible service, good presentation, clean facility Negatives: Underperforming taste vs. value

Dining at T-Mac's was not a good experience. The restaurant was hot and the waitstaff was poorly trained. Even given the small wine list, the waitress could not answer the most basic questions. When we asked about the rose, she told us that she didn't know what it was like as she was new - as if that was an excuse for being unhelpful. She did not offer to get someone else to explain it. And then the food...I started with the Beet salad which was a good size but largely tasteless. It had beets and goat cheese but it appeared that there was little else. I looked forward to trying the Scallops with risotto and black truffle; I always like a good risotto and I LOVE truffles. Really?! I should have known the truffles were not present (although assured by the waitress that they were) as the dish cost only $36. The scallops were good but the risotto was flavorless and the truffles failed to appear.

Let me get the chinks outa the way. Our reservation was for 6:45. They were already out of 2 prosecco's. Mussels. Halibut. Seriously. I know you have a big concert rolling into town next weekend but stock up!? Meanwhile, the tuna, pappardelle and tagliatelle was off the charts good.

Had a nice dinner . They were so accommodating to my veggie ways! Wonderful pasta primavera was the result. The service was beyond excellent, especially so considering it was a super busy Sat. night. The only downer (cost 1 star) was that there was no air conditioning. The dining room was stifling and made a lazy, relaxed dining experience more of a rush and get outside where these is a breeze one. I hope that is an aberration and not the norm.

Mac and Cheese, Antipasto Plate, Pear Salad, Roasted Beat Salad, are all items I have tried here and LOVED. Prices range around $12-$15. Servers are very friendly and know what they are talking about when talking drinks and food. The outdoor seating is very small and right on the road so no pretty view but still fun when weather permits. They have a bar area that seems to always be pretty warm. Believe they have an upstairs for large parties that reserve the space.

I sincerely appreciate what T. Maccarones is attempting to do in Walla Walla: pull off a top-notch dining experience in the heart of Washington Wine Country. Appreciating that spirit, I must say some things at T. Maccarones fall short. First, prices are high and not in line with the setting. Most diners are just not going to pay $25 to $28 for a plate of fresh pasta, even in New York or San Francisco, let alone Walla Walla. With $9 - $12 glasses of wine and $10 to $15 starters, and $10 desserts, expectations are accordingly high. Service was fantastic. We had a real pro serving us, For our part, this was a wonderful service experience. So 3.5 stars overall, but would give much higher for service. The low ceilings and small cramped space were used to their advantage certainly, and transformed into a warm, wine country setting, but at the end of the day parts of the place felt a little like a cramped, remodeled basement with a very low ceiling. I ordered the duck, which at the same price as the pasta seemed like a better value, and the breast was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately, the skin was not crispy, as in "Crispy Duck" and the meat was no longer hot, but had cooled down quite a bit. Not enough to send back, but clearly timing in the ktichen was off. The serving and sides were generous --both the breast and leg were served, but to get the breast the right amount of doneness, the rest of the duck had been overcooked and was stringy and dry. (I don't think it should have been on the plate. It wasn't edible.) The truffle mac and cheese my husband ordered was really lovely, and worth it in every sense. I could have had that dish for dessert. Every day. From now on. The $12 wine pours were average sized and served in large balloon glasses. I'd recommend to stick with the bottle here, if value is a concern. While we are new to WA. wine country (we ware regular visitors to other wine areas in Oregon and California) but we are sad to not see a better value proposition here in this small lovely town. There is a reason why some of the places the NY Times reviewed in 2008 are no longer in business, and I suspect value may be one of the reasons.

Visited this pleasant restaraunt on a busy Friday night with friends. We had a nice table and we were able to visit and enjoy each other's company. I had the steelhead dish. It was presented wonderfully and was delicious. I also had the tomato basil soup. Yum!! Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and visit. Would definitely return.

We were blown away by the awesome service we received here! I had called to make a (very poorly planned and last minute) reservation for a large group of 11, and not only did Neal totally work with me to fit us in, they put us in a wonderful private area where we were so well taken care of it was great! Our group was not only pretty big but also had a lot of food restrictions, several vegetarians and one vegan, and the kitchen was awesome and whipped up special dishes that were not on the menu so that everyone could enjoy the food that fit their dietary needs. I personally ordered the Parppardelle all Bolognese and it was delicious with lots of fresh pasta, great flavors and a very large portion. I also got to try the lamb with gnocchi which was very good and had generous portions of lamb that was prepared perfectly, as well as the truffle mac n cheese, which was good, not great (to be fair, I did take a bite near the end of the meal so it was cold from being out on the table for a while). Their wine list is pretty great, I wouldn't have minded seeing more options for wine by the glass, and their specialty cocktails got rave reviews from the girls who ordered them. I was just so incredibly pleased with the service and how great Neal was to our group, which went beyond 5-stars, I would highly recommend this spot for that alone, as well as the delicious food (which was on-scale with four stars). We will definitely be back!

The food was fantastic. We had the salmon and the beef tenderloin. Both were amazing and so flavorful. If you come in, ask for Sonja. She was very attentive, and she worked hard at giving us a great experience and was successful. Great stop on our trip to walla walla.

Best pork chop I have ever eaten. Came here with the whole family for a nice dinner. All the kids had their mac and cheese which was awesome. We also had a few orders of the frito misto and it was good with a giant portion that was too much for us all to finish. Some other popular dishes that night were the tuna in curry sauce, the duck and pasta with lamb ragu. But the pork chop, holy shit. It was the size of a baseball glove. Super thick, tender and juicy. Crazy good.

Awesome! My husband and I were starving and had time to kill before a family event. Having never visited Walla Walla...we went to T. Maccarones. Great! Fun staff! Great food! My ahi sandwich was EXCELLENT. Seared perfectly, fresh greens and awesome sauces served with fries/sandwiches. I doubt we will ever be back to Walla Walla....if we are, we will for sure visit again!! *cheers*

The food was pretty good, but pricier than expected. And pretty small portions. The decor was cute, but the ambiance was not quite right for a business dinner while out of town. Pretty much the only people in there were 40-50yo couples.

Thanks for the table in the corner in the kids section. Coming from Seattle, I expect a crab cake to taste like crab, not cold bread crumb goop. When the garnish taste better than the appetizer, you know you've come to the wrong place. Onion soup should be re-named Black Pepper soup. Olives on Main, here I come.... R. Rowe

I recommend avoiding this restaurant. Overall, we just had a bad experience at T Maccarones. The restaurant sells itself as a high-end establishment, but the service and the food are nowhere near the promise. When you are paying $25 for a plate of pasta, you expect something amazing. The food was not amazing. I'm sorry to say it was not even great - it was passable. It was bland, chewy and lukewarm. Service also was very subpar. We waited a long time at our table before our waiter came by. When he finally did, he seemed flustered and impatient with us. We expressed that we weren't very happy with our food, but he did nothing to compensate. The wine at the restaurant was great of course, though the prices are very high. All in the all, just not a place you want to go in Walla Walla. Go to Whitehouse Crawford instead.

We loved this place and can't wait to come back to Walla Walla! The bartender, Matt, was wonderful, friendly and attentive. We had an amazing pear salad with pine nuts and white truffle vinaigrette (the best salad my husband had ever had!), delicious beef carpaccio with black truffle oil (yum!), homemade pasta, and hands down the best slow roasted, fall-off-the-bone pork I've ever had! Everything we ordered was a home run with complex flavors and interesting ingredient combinations. Their new pastry chef is incredible as well so don't miss dessert!

Food and presentation were okay but the service at T. Maccarones was really not up to snuff. We waited for just about everything and had to change tables twice. Thank goodness the food was good or this would have been a one!

Another quality restaurant in Walla Walla. As I understand same ownership as Olives. At dinner we brought our wine in and paid a $15 corkage fee and enjoyed an amazing Oxtail ragout over Yukon gold gnocchi. The Papparedelle Bolognese was equally good. We shared a nice roasted beet salad. Slightly pricey but quality and good portions. No service issues, very good to excellent.

Nice upscale dining option in Walla Walla. We had the: Case Farms Pork (~$26): rib chop, braised belly, smoked andouilli sausage, dirty rice, etouffee - the pork chop and belly were great, cooked to perfection, crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. The etouffee had a nice flavor. Halibut (~$28): on curried black lentil ragout, topped with a shaved arugula-fennel salad, lime - the halibut was cooked well, but lacked seasoning. The black lentil curry was an odd, muted curry, lacking any spice, but retaining the coconut flavor. This dish was disappointing. Our friends ordered pasta dishes and loved them, that may be the route to go, the pastas are handmade, in-house, everyday. The restaurant is small, but nicely adorned, the service was fine and the food was pretty good, worth a try if you're in Walla Walla.

Fine dining and chic atmosphere. I really enjoyed a recent dinner on a hot July day. The grilled salmon and crispy onions were quite good and the mascarpone cheesecake was incredible. Service was a bit spotty but not to distraction.

Not sure why others had less-than-stellar experiences here; mine was great. Points off for how loud it was around 7:30pm and lack of attention to refilling my water glass, but the food was delicious. I tried some truffle Mac & cheese which was wonderful and the even managed to get the cheese all up in the penne, yay! I got soup (corn chowder which was creamy and flavorful) and heirloom tomato salad with mozzarella, basil, sardines and lemon oil dressing. SO GOOD! They clearly use fresh fresh fresh produce. Also tried some bolognese with housemade wide noodles - it was perfect and their cocktail and wine list was good too. My old fashioned was strong and they had lots of local glasses and bottles available. Dessert was tart tatin, which was ok. It was supposed to have ice cream with it, which we pointed out to our waitress. She said it didn't, but returned after we'd finished with an apology and our missing ice cream. Oops! Would have been nice to get that comped for the mistake.

Second time here. Celebrated my birthday here with family and friends. Very nice time! We enjoyed a couple bottles of bubbly as well as a few cocktails. Started with complimentary bread, the cheese plate and tuna plate. Out of the four cheeses presented, I really liked three of them. One, however, tasted a little funny... maybe not wrapped properly in the fridge with other scents being absorbed? Not sure, but it didn't ruin my experience. I had pasta with sausage. My hubby ordered a steak. When it came out and I compared our plates, I was disappointed that I "only" had pasta. That's until I dug in. Oh yum! This was delicious! I had a bite of hubby's steak and while good, I was super happy with my order. The sauce on his steak, I think, was better than the meat itself. I also tasted a bite of my sister's butternut squash risotto. Wow! It was really good, too! I probably would have been too sweet for me to eat as an entire meal, though. Birthday cake was brought in by my darling sister. They plated and served it with a candle and *did not* sing! (Thank you!!) We each had a tiny piece but need to stop eating at that point.

Wonderful service, cozy space. The delicious food was artfully plated. With a great wine list featuring local wineries, this restaurant offers a great sampling of the tastes of Walla Walla.

This is not a takeout place, but they specially prepared an order of T Mac and Cheese for me to-go. The dish prepared with fontina cheese and bread crumbs, and it was very good. Though it's an appetizer, it was enough for a small meal. They also included focaccia bread, but it didn't seem to go with the Mac. The price of my dish was fine, but other prices seemed to be a bit high.

Had pear salad and Tagliatelle pasta with homemade sausage, cherry tomatoes, creamy pesto sauce, etc. First visit. Pear salad was an amazing array of flavors - pine nuts, different greens, etc. Have it without pepper that could overrun those flavors. The tagliatelle was hearty, very filling, very tasty. Sausage was mild, great, the cherry tomatoes very flavorful. Really an outstanding meal in WW.

We had brunch on our last day in Walla Walla. I ordered the eggs benedict. One word AWESOME. Their hollandaise sauce was perfect only wish I would have ordered more on the side so I could dip my brioche in it. They serve coffee in a real mug not one that holds 4 ounces and the service was very attentive and sincere.

Great wine list - and why not, with a ton of wineries around! The service is good, although our server was very quick to pour out all our wine before our entrees even arrived (to ensure we would order a second bottle?). Two of our entrees were delivered burned/overcooked and dry (halibut); and no, they were not supposed to be blackened... Our server sent them back to the kitchen with no problem, and when we received a replacement, it was prepared properly and it was delicious. My suggestion would be to monitor the entrees more carefully during the cooking process; it will prevent wasting money and customer's time. Waiting for your dish to be cooked again while everyone else at the table is enjoying their meal, is a bummer...

This is about my fifth visit to T. Maccarones. It was again, one of the best meals I have ever had. Sometimes I have found the service to be a bit boorish, but this visit it was absolutely friendly and fun. They have remodeled and it is fresh and modern. I had the pumpkin gnocchi - it was insanely good. If you think I might be someone being urged to write a five star review on behalf of the management - take a look at my other reviews. I am always glad to give out one stars and critisism. :) Thanks again for a great experience!

This restaurant was recommended to me by one of the local residents. It is in the Walla Walla downtown area. It is kind of small but it has a nice atmosphere. I don't have a big appetite so I decided to try their famous T Mac and Cheese (an appetizer). I also ordered their Crimson Pear Salad and a glass of Substance Cabernet Sauvignon ( A local Wine). The wine was very good. The T Mac and Cheese was phenomenal. It is prepared with fontina val d'aosta, Parmigiano-Reggiano, herbed bread crumbs, white truffle oil. Yummy. The Crimson Pear salad was delicious as well. For dessert I tried the Dark Chocolate creme Brulee. It was kind of rich but pretty good. The service was great. I got there pretty early. It started getting pretty packed by the time I left. I would recommend this restaurant. Get there early and enjoy..... Ciao

Went for dinner after a nice day of wine tasting. When you make your reservation, you might want to ask not to be seated anywhere near the door. The day was a bit chilly and I ended up trading seats with a friend in order for her to be warmer. When the evening continued on, we asked them to close the door and the A/C kicked in with the vent pointed straight as us. Needless to say, it was freezing! Hard to enjoy a good meal when you're trying to keep warm. That being said, the food was ok... it likely would've been better if our server had warned us of the dishes we ordered or the menu indicated specifics on the dishes. At the table, we had an order of curried cioppino that was so spicy that I traded my tagliatelle with her cioppino as she wasn't even able to enjoy the flavors because of the spice. I love spicy food and it had some heat on it. Another friend order the hanger steak which ended up being covered in allspice and cinnamon, which she really dislikes. These are some serious flavors and heat that should be outlined by the server when ordering if not specified on the menu. Otherwise, our appetizer and salad were delicious and generous. We really just wanted to get out of there after eating so we wouldn't catch a cold and wanted to get away from what should've been a great dinner (we had made reservations over a month ahead) but turned out to be a bit of a dud.

A total disappointment. Uncomfortable seating, limited menu, way overpriced. Our entrees included crab cakes that were mushy, mac & cheese that was super dry. A total waste of money. Went to another place in town that had great food at half the price.

First and last time at TMaccarones. Party of four and we were having a wonderful evening ...... Until a party of six, friends' of the owner we were told, came in. They were extremely loud and completely thoughtless of the other diners. We finished the meal as soon as we could and joined two other tables who left as a result of the boorish conduct of the 'friends'. Too bad!! Could be a great place to dine

Came here five years ago and was enthralled. Very disappointed this time. All four plates we ordered were warm or cold. To their credit the brought a second ribeye. I should have kept he cold one. Second was nothing but fat and gristle. The chairs are so worn that you fall trough them. Wine list marginal and deserts clearly pre made. Needs updating throughout. Maybe they have been done in by their success

My wife and I had dinner at T Maccarones and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We started with a fine beef carpaccio and followed that with a pear salad with truffle vinaigrette. It was wonderful. Main course of duck breast was also terrific. Coupled with a fine Italian wine this was a great meal.

The hubs & I decided to try out T. Maccarones on Valentines Day this year. Mind you, we haven't dined out on V-Day in probably 10 years, because service and food is usually not fantastic on such a busy day. This year, we decided to mix it up & dine out for a change...and OH SO glad we did!!! When we walked in the door, we were directed upstairs to what I assume is usually reserved for private parties, but was overflow seating on V-Day. We were promptly greeted by a handsome fellow wearing a kilt...always a good sign ;) We went all out and ordered a bottle of red (can't remember which but it was good and reasonably priced), a Thai Mussel with green curry appetizer, the Crimson Pear Salad, Minestrone Soup, Tagliatelle, Mushroom Fettucini and a White Chocolate Creme Brule for dessert. Review as follows... Thai Mussels = FREAKING amazing. Meaty with a delicious broth. Literally the best bite we have had since moving to the East Side. Bravo! Crimson Pear Salad = Good, but not remarkable. Minestrone = Hands down best minestone we've ever had. Literally could eat a bucket of it. Tagliatelle & Mushroom Fettucini = Good, but would probably venture to try a main entree of the tuna or tenderloin next time. White Chocolate Creme Brule = Perfect! I am a creme brule snob too. Crispy warm top with a cool custard below. Just like I like it :) All in all, by far the best dining experience in the area thus far and will be coming back for sure! Thanks for making our Valentines Day even more spectacular T. Mac's!

Okay, so it's been just over a year since I reviewed anything. Just haven't had the same interest to do so, perhaps due to the realization of I know more about food and wine than 95% of you out there that's reading this review. Does that mean I am better than you? No. However, it does mean I eat and drink better than most of you. Anyway, on to the review itself..... I was going to venture to Brasserie Four tonight, but one more recommendation of T. Mac had me punching in a different address on my GPS. Arrived at the restaurant just after six, few tables already having dinner, figures a good sign for a Tuesday night in Walla Walla. Getting to the real point of this review, I will just tell you the service is good, no worries there. Kitchen on the other hand can use a lot of help. Went with Beef Carpaccio, good flavor with just one problem, 75% of the thinly sliced tenderloin was still frozen. in the grand scheme of the things, really not a big deal, but it's the attention to detail the kitchen is lacking that's bothering me. For entree, went with Braised Pork, this translates into throwing a hunk of meat into some seasoned liquid equals a pretty safe dish. Well, WRONG!. Somewhere in the list of ingredients on the menu listed chili flakes and further enhanced by scallion & parsley salad. Figuring this for a savory dish with a slight kick. What I got instead was a dish that's way to sweet with no heat at all what so ever. Even worse was the pork taste like it's a few days old at the least, definitely not braised on the same day. Yes, certain times, a braised pork dish actually taste better the next day or two, but certainly not in this case. In the end, my waitress took the Braised Pork off the bill after I asked if it's meant to be on the sweet side. So again, no issues with service at all, period. Based on the people that recommended this place, I am hoping it's just a off night in the kitchen.

A great meal shared by 6 of us. Everyone raved about their selections. The wait staff warned the spicy linguine was really spicy... The recipients were pleased that spicy truly was beyond tourist heat. The gnocchi's were some of the best I'd ever had in that they were pan fried. I'm a convert! Nice wine list--shared a great bottle of Abeja cab.

Road tripped with my brother and sisters to visit my Grandfather in Walla Walla, and wanted to have a really good dining experience while we were there for one night. Taking a recommendation from a former colleague who lives there, we decided on T. Maccarones. Made reservations, but showed up about an hour early...dog tired from the drive and hungry. They accommodated us with no problem. Our waiter, Tom (I think) was great from the start. My younger siblings were nervous because we were all pretty casually dressed...no worries. It's a nice place and deserves you looking your best, but they are really very casual. We started with a shared beef carpaccio...new experience for my siblings, and they all liked it. My brother had the house salad and appeared to love it. I tasted it for dressing and it was delicious. This is no ordinary house salad...loaded with goodies like fresh mozz, olives and caper berries, pesto coated tiny tomatoes. I had the beet salad. Initially ordered the grilled Caesar, which came highly recommended on some reviews, however Tom steered me away because he did not like the look of the romaine they received that day. Smart service which really shows they care about quality. Beet salad was delicious...greens perfectly dressed with a great dressing, candied nuts not too sweet, and a fantastic Gorgonzola that was lovely stinky (in a good way!) butter. Twin brother and sister seemed happy with their twin tagliatelle pasta. Tried the pesto cream sauce myself and it was very nice. Came with some really good sausage, and I don't know what else. Their bowls were empty. Youngest sister had the calamari with strozzapretti ("priest-strangler"...look it up) pasta. Tried that sauce too, and yum! I had the appetizer mussels with fennel as my main and they were perfectly cooked, and oh, so tasty. The broth was to die for (I jokingly asked for a straw to drink it). We were so stuffed and so tired we were going to pass on dessert, but when Tom asked, we asked out of curiosity what there was. So, we ended up sharing a chocolate creme brulee. One sister claims to not like creme brulee but she loved this one (it was only the 2nd time she's liked it, and I think it clinched it that she DOES like it now). It was very smooth, creamy, with perfectly browned top, and I would highly recommend it. A great evening...food, service, and of course good company.

To be honest, I feel a little bummed because I thought I would be more impressed. The food was just average Italian to me...really nothing out of the ordinary. This place is over-priced for what it is.

I booked here a week ahead for a party of 4. It was our first and will be our last time here. I expect locals may get better treatment but we were seated at a table in a dark upstairs corner with an air conditioner duct under the table. It was COLD. Our server not friendly..not helpful. One dish - salmon arrived over cooked. A kitchen staffer arrived with a new piece but left it on a separate plate and our guest had to do the rearranging etc. Our advice AVOID this over rated establishment...there are several better places in town...

Crazy expensive! Food was ok. Service was mediocre. I had the duck which had a lot of fat/skin. $24 for that? Topped it with a $10 glass of Syrah but that was a good local wine. At least throw in a salad and some veggies with the $24 plate of noodles and some duck.

Note to self: must get the mac & cheese next time. I had dish envy of the next table the whole time due to the delectable-looking mac & cheese, but I had already ordered by then. The crimson pear salad was a delicious combination with pine nuts, and the antipasto dish was generously filled with meats and such. My dinner companion's rack of lamb turned out rather well, but my pasta, although purportedly handmade, was drowned in spicy red sauce (but somehow still seemed a little bland to me), with giant flat pasta all stuck together and difficult to eat --certainly not al dente. It was something of a letdown after the delicious salad, but perhaps was the result of having a full house all day and being one of the last tables seated for the night. They were also out of all desserts except one, so we skipped it. The waiter was excellent, and our late reservations, with a promise of a call if they had an earlier opening, yielded a call a half hour earlier, which was much appreciated. Unfortunately, I think the low ceilings make for a very loud atmosphere (with an arms race of loud talking to be heard), even without a full house. Otherwise, this is a sweet, reasonably affordable neighborhood restaurant with good cuisine and good service. I would return in a heartbeat (to try the mac and cheese). P.S. To skip reservations: outdoor tables are first-come-first-serve.

T Macs is awesome. Be prepared for tight seating and it can be loud as well. Once you adapt (and you will) to the noise level enjoy the food. The Spaghetti and Meatballs are too die for. The place is small (it bears saying twice) so if you do not like crowds go early or very late. Reservations are a must on the weekends. The bartender is throwback to old school cocktail making. - Bloody Mary's, get one. Martini -Yes please. This place is about the food, atmosphere and fun. Those complaining about the A/C, put a jacket on and enjoy one of the best restaurants in Washington State.

We stumbled across this place after having circled downtown Walla Walla countless times, plus it was the only restaurant open on a monday(SMART PEOPLE. WORK THAT). This place is a hidden gem. From the atmosphere, the staff and the art, you just know you are in for something different. Their menu is to the point. The I got their beet salad, which was sweet and tangy and plate licking gooood. Now, the last time I ordered pasta in a restaurant(and i know this for a fact) was when I was 4yrs ago. It was at Becco in NYC. Owned by that old Italian lady... Lydia. Clearly pasta isnt high on my list. I ordered a cioppino which sat on top of a mound of squid ink pasta. Holy. God. I died. I died in a pool of black nooodles and red broth. Spicy, lemony and very earthy tasting from the pasta. The rest of the pastas were cooked to perfection and each sauce tasted different(finally someone understands the secrets of sauces). I wanted someone to roll me to the car after dinner but naturally still had room for dessert. Dark chocolate creme brulee? OK! Pumpkin cheesecake? YES PLEASE! I dont know what one I liked more. So I am not going to choose. Homemade crust and smooth pumpkin? Creamy Chocolate with a hard sugar crust? I ate them together...dont judge. OH! Ive also been on a search for the best Manhattan, as it is my drink of choice. They did it right....and added a twist instead of a cherry. As it should be.

My wife and I had dinner there a couple of nights ago. The salad was very good -- as was the (ginormous) antipasto. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and it wasn't quite what I expected. The "spaghetti" was angel hair pasta, and it was dry. The meatballs looked like two mini-meatloafs, and the grind was a little too fine for my tastes -- kind of a dog food texture. Also, there was an odd flavor to it. I'm not saying it was bad -- because I was told that is how authentic meatballs are served, but it just didn't do it for me. My wife had vegetarian lasagna, and she said that it was good. I asked other people we met about the restaurant, and they said that even though they advertise themselves as an Italian restaurant, it's best to stick with the steaks.

Another really good restaurant in Walla Walla. They have a great wine list of the regions wines and the waiters were very knowledgeable on wine pairings. As for the food, I started with the Pear salad and it was very good. I had the Bolognese Pasta dish for my entree and it did not disappoint.

This place was recommended to us by our friends so we tried it. We shared the heirloom tomato salad- don't miss it. My wife had the halibut and mussels in a light curry sauce. It was wonderful. I ordered the ribeye ($31) and asked if I could substitute veggies instead of the potato side dish. No problem however when we got the bill, I was surprised to find we were charged $3 extra for the substitution. It would have been nice if the server had mentioned that. The steak was done to my order med-rare and quite tasty with some kind of green butter sauce. I liked it - didn't like the extra charge. I'd go here again - just don't ask for substitutions.

Second trip to Walla Walla and the locals still are raving about this spot. So we tried it. On our last trip we were told to get reservations as they are always booked - since it was a Wednesday - we didn't make one. Mistake. The restaurant had many tables for 4 open and we were seated right away. Unfortunately, they decided to place us at The Table by The Kitchen and Behind the Bar, hate that. But again, our mistake for not making a reservation. The Tagliatelle and Bolognese dishes truly were wonderful. Their pasta dishes have the inimitable taste of fresh. Bolognese was slightly spicy, Tagliatelle was dense with cheese. The bread accompaniment, average or below, Pear Salad - fresh, tasty. Service was below average. Waitress wasn't able to remember who had what with drinks or dinner. Not a big deal in a coffee shop - but for the reputation of this spot, try just a little harder. After our meal we commented that dessert would not be necesary - dinner was so good! BUT, we received dessert menus anyway and way too much time went by before she returned to ask if we wanted dessert. Nope, just the check. That took more time than necessary too. The place was busy, but not that busy. Especially because she had to pass us every time she went to the bar or kitchen! Restaurants are about the food, service, ambiance and vibe. Clearly locals are experiencing it regularly, so perhaps have a better experience on the average. Food = A Ambiance = B- Service = C-

    T. Maccarones is owned by a friend of a friend, so I had to check it out while I was in town. Sadly we had a new waitress and so the service overwhelmed (and not in a good way) our experience. In her defense the restaurant was packed and I would hate to be a new waitress in that environment. It also didn't help that the A/C was barely keeping up inside (it was probably in the upper 80s outside) and it was actually more comfortable to sit outside where there was a breeze. That said the meal started off well with a great glass of sauv blanc and we both ordered starters that were tremendous. I had a panzanella salad that had the most amazing heirloom tomatoes. Unfortunately we weren't able to truly enjoy because our main courses came out before we were completely finished. Not good timing there. My salmon was also very good with roasted vegetables and a huge piece of fish. My friend ordered the albacore tuna which came out cooked almost all the way through. Granted the waitress should have probably asked her how she likes her tuna prepared, but who eats albacore cooked medium anyway?!? It was completely unedible. She would have sent it back but our waitress disappeared for about 15 minutes without checking to see how were were doing. By the time she came out my friend had already lost interest in her dinner having eaten the vegetables that accompanied the fish which were actually delicious. The waitress must have thought better than to even ask us about dessert, but really...she should have at least asked! I felt sorry for her at this point because she did seem totally overwhelmed but we had to point out too we weren't going to pay for overcooked fish. The manager comped us our wine, which was appreciated. I'm sure another night, another waitress and the experience would be totally different because the food was really good.

After a full day of drinking wine naturally the next day you need a Bloody Mary and this place has ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD (10.0), and I've had a lot. If you like them spicy, full of flavor, and with a lot of surprises on the rim, you won't be disappointed. We were there for brunch and all the food was great. And the staff is fun too.

The food was very good and the staff was personable. The prices were a little higher than expected but the food was good quality and tasted great. The restaurant is small so reservations are a good idea. It felt a little dark and cramped at our two person table. We would return to this restuarant to try more items on the delicious menu.

Way over priced for food and wine. Dont mind paying for quality, highly overrated. Didn't like black spagetti that was in every order, more like black worms. 5 prawns with spagetti for $26.00. Most wine $12.00 or more glass. Advice of the day - listen to the locals as they know best

Exceptional. We have traveled extensively in Italy and found this restaurant to be very authentic. They offered a very sophisticated menu. In addition to pasta, which is what we had, they do offer many delicious main courses. Appetizers were great too; my husband had an hierloom tomato salad. Service was excellent.. All in all, this was one of the best restaurants we've ever been to and we've both lived in large cities. We were traveling across the West on vacation. The restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives in Seattle and it was right on.

We spent an overnight in Walla Walla, and based on the many favorable reviews, had dinner at T. Macarones. We were seated promptly by a smiling hostess and seated by a window. Despite a pretty full house, Our extremely knowledgeable and friendly waiter, Tom, chatted with us about menu items and our individual likes and dislikes. George likes to try different things, so he opted for the Prawn Arrabbiata which was full of delicious prawns and, as the name implies, was quite spicy. The interesting black spaghetti (from being prepared in squid ink) was very unusual, but tasty. I opted for the Pappardelle pasta Bolognese, which was not your usual preparation Tom explained. True to his word, the homemade wide noodles were bathed in a tomato-cream sauce with a mixture of sauteed ground pork and beef. Soooooo yummy. When we were Considering our wine to accompany dinner, Tom brought a Sample of two wines for us to choose. We selected a bottle of Abeja, the house red. It was so good we bought three bottles fhe next day tto take with us. We hope to spend a week or two in Walla Walla in the future and can't wait to return to this wonderful restaurant.

We came here for lunch, and had some really good fish dishes. Service was fast and attentive (we were the only folks in there). It was a very enjoyable eating experience. Ruby Trout is delicious and the Ahi Tuna sandwich was great as well.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
