Went here on a Friday night while the husband was in town for work, I met him there and we heard through a friend about this place. At first, I was nervous because it didn't look like a restaurant from the outside, seemed more like a shop to buy gourmet food and a deli, but we were both pleasantly surprised at how yummy our dinner was! I got a glass of really refreshing and dry but not overly dry voigner, hubby got a tempranillo he though was too "tannin-y but that's no fault of the restaurant. For appetizers, we got the antipasto platter which was pretty good. I saw marinated octopus in the deli case, which we both love but sadly there was only one delicious piece of octopus. Alas, the rest of the antipasto was great. Lots of olives, cured meats and crostini. Husband ordered half a rack of lamb, which came with roasted potato and a mix of marinated kale, he loved it! I got the cider marinated flank steak, which was also delicious. We shared a small, (thankfully their portions are nice & petite), pear tart with deliciously tart limoncello gelato and went home happy. I would recommend this place for a cozy unexpected romantic dinner.

This was a delightful little restaurant in the Uptown Village area of Vancouver, with seating inside of a Wine shop. They served very nice Italian food and other deli fare like build your own sandwiches. The service was superb, and we enjoyed ourselves a lot.
(4)Erik N.
The first thing you would notice about this place is the outdoor seating, with a wall that folds away. Very european cafe styling, inside and out. The lunch menu is slighty more sparse, but the deli and build-it-yourself sandwiches offer greater variety than expected. The service is helpful and friendly, and is always ready to make a suggestion. The sandwich deal, with fresh potato chips, costs about 8 dollars for a whole sandwich. The dinners, high quality Italian with something for everyone, are amazing. Dinner is relatively cheap, when compared to other, less local Italian places. The atmosphere is great, but the place gets packed quick, and it can get noisy during peak hours. The desserts are good, and can be seen when you first walk in. The wine selection is good, but the prices can be questionable.

Great food and a warm dining room. We've been a few times and even brought some friends and every time it's been a great experience. It's nice rustic Itlian fare with a nice selection of non-pasta dishes.
(4)Paige L.
Cute little place to dine. I fell in love with their pasta w/ vodka sauce. Very subtle. They're service is normal
(4)Tom M.
We stumbled across this charming little eatery by accident when we were downtown Vancouver for an event and are we ever glad we did! We have eaten there twice so far, both times for a casual lunch, and everything was simply outstanding on both visits. An excellent combination of rustic Italian cuisine and light lunch items. Their sandwiches are about as good as it gets! Service was first rate on both of our visits. La Bottega is a real gem.

My girlfriend and I live in the uptown area of Vancouver, so we always walk by this establishment. We had been wanting to have a date night before she left for medical school and had heard great things about La Bottega. The two pasta dishes we ordered we fantastic and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. Definitely a nice place to have a quiet tasty dinner.
(4)Malena A.
Cute little cafe, some seating on the sidewalk out front, attentive/helpful server, food food and good prices. One of my favorite things about this place is they offer a half portion. I don't need a whopping plate of pasta and I appreciate that they offer lower prices for a portion of food that you can actually eat in 1 meal.
(4)John M.
Would be 5 stars, except that the service staff is very unknowledgeable. It looks like they recruited their servers from the local church youth group, which seems odd considering they serve $100 bottles of wine! The service definitely wasn't bad, but they could've had one professional server in the whole restaurant instead of 3 young girls giving average service. The food was excellent, the wine divine, and the desert was unbelievable. Reasonably priced as well. Definitely highly recommended!

We are new to Vancouver and we tried La Bottega on a recommendation. Dinner was wonderful, the service was great and it was a joy. I do wish there was a wider menu, but the Spaghetti w/red sauce & sausage was spectacular. We went back for lunch and the male waiter was not as attentive, even though they were not that busy. I will definitely go back for dinner, weekly if possible. On my way out I noticed that we can buy the pasta already made up, the sauces, bread and everything you need for a great dinner at home. That is my next adventure, go in and buy the lasagna and bread w/dessert and pass it off as a gourmet meal! FANTASTIC restaurant and deli!

Lunch with my terribly picky parents and three year old toddler could not have gone better. The corned beef sandwich was out of this world and in house roasted turkey was equally as good. The ravioli was ok but I feel the sandwiches are highly underrated. Will be back for certain as I love Vancouver and grew up here.
(5)Jeffrey H.
Food was excellent. Kudos to Andy Duncan for his recommendations and Nicole for hospitality and service. We will be back very soon. Great place.. Because of my work, I travel a great deal and this place is an absolute standout. Well done!
(5)Adventuregal V.
It's okay, but when we happened to go there, famished, on St. Patricks' Day for dinner, they really pushed their corned beef plate. We'd forgotten it was St. Patrick's Day but were reminded, often. I ordered chicken, which was sort of bland and not well cooked. I took it home to cook it further and finish it, in honor of the little bird that had lost its life. My hub ordered the mushroom ravioli (again). Ambiance is good on nice days. Maybe I will try lunch there.
(3)A L.
Such a gem in Downtown Vancouver! Delicious sandwiches and great pasta! I would highly recommend both the chicken/bacon sandwich and the tortellini with vodka cheese sauce. Great atmosphere.
(4)Lauren B.
A pretty solid menu of italian type food and wines. They also have a section where you can pick up chilled wines and deli food to go. Surprisingly busy on a Friday night for the Couve. I've been for lunch and dinner and both meals were quite tasty. I particularly enjoyed the build your own sandwich as I can be picky about my toppings.
(4)Madeline G.
My family and I decided to pull off and get some lunch and picked La Bottega to do so. We all got sandwiches to go, and we're immediately surprised by how wonderful they turned out. I ordered the smoked chicken and bacon sandwich (with avocado added) which might have been in the top tastiest sandwiches I have ever had, however my other family member's sandwiches we're just about as equally satisfying. To top it off, the lunch included homemade sweet potato chips! This place just might be the tastiest Deli I've run into I'm Washington yet! While you wait for your lunch (to go), why not stop by the antique stores adjacent to it aswell. Bottega's doesn't disappoint.
(5)Anita H.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in downtown Vancouver, WA. This place functions as a restaurant as well as a deli. I love their deli, because you can order a custom sandwich with their quality baked breads, imported cheese, and cured meats. We had dinner at La Bottega last night and I asked the waiter for a recommendation. He suggested the tortiglioni alla vodka with the shrimp add-on. I took up on his recommendation, which I'm really glad I did, because the pasta was DELICIOUS. I never had tortiglioni pasta but it's sort of like a longer rigatoni, and it was cooked al dente. Awesome. The tomato vodka cream sauce was light and not overwhelming. The shrimp were jumbo size, which was a big thumbs up. I hate going to a restaurant, where the menu says shrimp, and they serve these dinky size shrimps that you put in salads. My husband ordered the linguini con vongole e salsacia which is a linguini dish with roasted red pepper sauce and sausage and clams. YES, sausage AND clams -- surf and turf pasta, can't beat that. If you like a spicy dish, you have to try this. My husband can handle spicy and he said the sausage was SPICY. We ordered the black and white torta cake after our dinner -- WOW, a very luxurious rich but yummy dessert. A great way to finish off a meal. If you are looking for a tasty Italian restaurant in Vancouver, skip your nearby Olive Garden and head straight over here. They use fresh ingredients and change their menu often.
(5)Sanchez H.
YUM! Cute little place--went in for dinner early Friday night. The Gorgonzola Cheesecake appetizer is a must have. The meat sauce orechietti is a nice hardy dish--be warned the half size portions are really small. Tiramisu is a nice finish. Would have given it 5 stars but it is a litle priey for what you get and there were too many fruit flies flying around every where which was quite annoying.
(4)Michael P.
This is my 3rd time here, the first 2 visits here where ok. The atmosphere is nice and the food was good. 3rd visit left me with a very sour taste in my mouth, granted the waitress was sweet and nice but should have noticed my mood going south fast! My sister in law called in a week in advance for my brother and I's Bday. One we had to wait 45 min. And after we get seated we wait almost an hour for food. Mind you a table walks in 10 min. After us and got dinner 10min. Before us. I am not sure how all this happened but there was no explanation and no attempt to make it up to us. On top of it all there is an 18% gratuity for a large group. I was so disgusted I refused my free desert that was offered for my Bday. In the end she did comp me my dinner, the server was apologetic after I gave her an earful.
(2)Yewondwossen A.
The restaurant resembling it's namesake, a NY style Deli/grocery, is cozy. I had 1/2 order of their Tortiglioni-alla-vodka with sausage. Looking at the sausages that are hanging on the wire, it seemed the right choice. I was not disappointed. The noodle was al-dente, the sauce was warm, tasty but not heavy. A good size scoop of grated pamigiano on top gave it another depth of flavor. The connoli filling was not sweet enough and the shell tasted stale. The cappuccino was hot and satisfying. Total bill was less than $20.
(4)Ursula M.
Ryan P says the food here is overpriced! RIDICULOUS! You're not at McDonald's, Ryan dear! La Bottega has very nice Italian food at very fair prices. The service is friendly and attentive, and on nice days, you can eat outdoors or near a large opening which makes you feel as if you're outdoors. However, I'm not surprised at Ryan's remarks because, for a town that voted that awful chain "Italian" joint the best in town, obviously a few local people need lessons in what's good and authentic. I had a new to the menu dish with penne, zucchini and eggplant in a light tomato sauce. The only negative was that I couldn't find much eggplant in it. Nonetheless, it was very good. The design your own sandwich has a long list of possible ingredients. Who couldn't like that? Heaven between two slices of bread!
(4)Jena L.
Been here twice for dinner in the past couple of months. It's a cute spot. They bring you water in bottles, and bread/oil/vinegar. Service both times was excellent - the servers really know the menu and will provide good recommendations for you. I've had the pasta w/vodka sauce (there was barely any sauce), and the pasta w/bolognese (very tasty!), the meatballs ($3 addition for 3 smallish balls), the cheese plate (good!), umm.. oh and the strawberry salad (barely dressed for $8). A cannoli, which I wasn't fond of but it was the first one I've had, so maybe I'm just not a cannoli person. I would like to give this place more stars. Overall, the flavors are great, I just think it's overpriced. One of these days I will make it over to try a sandwich for lunch, and update my review.

Love La Bottega! I've been going here for years. Wine tasting on Wednesday is fun ,not like it used to be though when it was a more social experience. Dishes I love are the sweet potato ravioli's, bucitini w/ awesome meatballs, any sandwich is very tasty and their excellent wine selection. The servers have always been extremely friendly!
(5)Leah N.
Oh the sandwiches! The wonderfully delicious create your own sandwiches!!! This is my absolute favorite lunch destination in Vancouver, and the value for your money (especially for vegetarian sandwich eaters) and quality of ingredients are unsurpassed. I pile mine high with hummus, olive tapanade, roasted peppers and eggplant, and just about every other veggie on the menu. Throw it all on some amazing focaccia bread, pair it with some crunchy house made potato chips and a gingery pickle, and I'm one happy camper. Plus the walls are lined with cook books and travel magazines, which are the perfect entertainment for a party of one.
(5)Philip M.
Good food. I really enjoy every time I go here.
(4)T C.
Niçoise salad is soooo good.
(5)Andrew G.
One of the coziest spots in Vancouver. La Bottega gives the impression of an old school Italian deli nestled among the storefronts in the under-rated Uptown Village neighborhood. For the quality and ambience, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything comparable in the city limits. Their roasted corned beef sandwich is about the most memorable sammy I've had in years. It comes with house-made potato chips and a peekle. Great ambiance inside and nice al fresco dining in the summer. I really need to get up there more often. Fabuloso.
(4)Amber T.
I still need to go here for lunch, but I have to say, I love dinner! Especially on 1/2 price wine bottle nights! The food is ever-changing and always delicious. I feel like I need to be rolled out of there every time because I eat apps, meal and dessert. It's a cool atmosphere too - open yet cozy. You just have to check it out. I take everyone I know there if they haven't been before, and I've had nothing but good service, great food and an amazing memory.
(5)Tiffany H.
Love the lasanga, not as good when you get it frozen (wouldn't recommend it that way) Can I say CHEESECAKE gorgonzala yummy!!! Try it if you haven't. I use to go every wednesday with my mom for the wine tasting too. If you haven't been here and you love italian cusine its a must try!!!
(4)Kyle R.
easily handled our party of 11 on Halloween. but the place is small, so better make a reservation with a large group. great italian food selection...and very good quality. most everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. i got pasta, which was rich and delicious! waitstaff was super friendly, fast, accurate, and efficient. water/drinks refilled often. we'll be back, if we're ever downtown again.
(5)Aaron B.
Delicious antipasto, mushroom ravioli and tiramisu.
(5)Traci E.
My brother chose this spot over every other place in the Portland Metro to celebrate his 40th birthday. I think some of the guests were sceptical about coming to Vancouver for fine dining. The evening went off without a hitch and everyone was totally impressed, especially the guest of honor. The service was exceptional, the food amazing, and a great wine selection at decent prices. They went out of their way to accommodate our party and make the evening special.
(5)Michelle O.
My new favorite place in Downtown Vancouver. Charming sidewalk tables for two, polite wait staff, clean indoor atmosphere with an unmistakable Italian feel and a great lunch/dinner/dessert menu. I ordered the Bucatini Marinara and loved it!
(5)Ryan P.
First things first, have been to this restaurant four times in the last year, this rating reflects their service, food, and value overall, with highs and lows. Here is a place that I want to really like, I really, really do. But they are currently to busy trying to be 'faux Italian' to realize that they are missing the target. I am just not talking about the way they decorate the place, but the fact that if I end up only eating a quarter of my plate of food, and I don't want to take it with me, they don't even ask if something is wrong. Let's start with the guy on the waitstaff who stared at me for over 10 minutes strait while trying to shop for wine. Wow, talk about creepy. Then lets talk about the fact that no one, NO ONE, on their staff could tell me anything about the wines. Zip, Zero, Nada, Nothing. It's not like they're local wines, then I would know much more about it, and I wouldn't need the help. But almost all (all but two if I remember correctly) the wines are Italian. We live in one of the greatest wine growing regions in the world, and no local wines? Not even one? Really?!? Then we get to the food, which is over priced to put plainly. For the portion size that they give out for a dinner, they should be somewhere between 2 to 4 dollars less across the board. Same with the wine, if you lowered the price by 1, 2, or 3 dollars a glass, accordingly, it would be a good value. Right now, everything is simply more expensive than the same thing at a similar restaurant in Portland. They're food is good, not bad, not amazing, just good, occasionally its just okay. Finally, the service, for which is about half the reason I give this place one star. It's not as if the waitstaff is bad or mean, its the fact that they really could care less about serving you, they would rather talk with each other, look at something on someones cell phone, try to get off of work early, talk with their friends at another table, etc. They either need to hire better people, or train them better, period. (especially about the wine they serve) Overall, I'll come back when I hear that they have some mojo, if that ever happens.
(1)Celeste M.
One of our favorites in the couv. Always delicious and reasonably priced. Staff if responsive and nice. Crowd is a bit older and yuppy.
(5)Pam J.
Very relaxing place on a warm summer afternoon with the big door open, and the front walk way seating. Service was friendly and attentive. I had a tuna sandwich, made to order. The tuna salad was very tasty, not overly dressed. The chips I forgot to ask if they were made there, they were yum. I can't wait to go back with my hubby for a date night dinner
(5)Stacy J.
The first time I came here was with my dad and we were absolutely thrilled. It is like a mixture of the best Italian restaurant you've ever been to and the best sandwich shop you've ever been to times ten. I was eager to tell everyone I knew about it. Now, me and my boyfriend eat there at least once a week. Typically for lunch. We love to get their sandwiches. Delicious authentic deli meats and cheeses. Home made bread. Delicious spreads. Accompanied by home made potato chips. What more could you ask for? If you are looking for an awesome authentic and wholesome place to eat, Bottega is the place to go.
(5)Richard M.
Damn! Outstanding All Round!

We were looking for a place for dinner after the Vancouver Wine and Jazz festival today. Not being very familiar with the 'Couv, we thought of El Presidente because we pass it on the way to my doctor's office, but the Yelp reviews put me off. Then I read the reviews for La Bottega and talked my companions into that. And I am so glad I did! We were all very impressed, even my Boston-Italian friend and her Chicago-Italian husband were impressed. We tried the gorgonzola cheesecake and the cheese plate for appetizers, my friend had a roasted red pepper soup and the smoked mushroom ravioli. Her husband had the gnocchi, my husband had the seafood risotto and I had the orechetti with artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes and spinach pesto. While we all enjoyed everything we ordered, we were especially impressed with the gorgonzola cheesecake and the smoked mushroom ravioli. Wow! Some of the reviews had issues with the prices, the size of the portions and the service staff. Well, we did spend quite a bit of money, but there was a regular laundry list of food ordered. Both my husband and myself needed to go boxes, and our server, Nicole, was a delight. So friendly and kept her sense of humor when my husband was being kind of tipsy. I really admired her ability to keep smiling at the silly remarks he was making. It was surprising to us how few people were there and how easy parking was to find at 6:30 on a Saturday night, but we're all from NE Portland, where good and casual also means long waits and impossible parking. When my friend and I noticed that the street was full of antique shops, we immediately made plans to come back up in a couple of weeks for antiquing and lunch at La Bottega. One of the best restaurants I've been to in months! And one more kudos to Nicole for being such a good sport AND super-friendly, attentive service. Oh! And the tiramisu was excellent.
(5)Roxanne B.
If you want a bomb sandwich with high quality meats, cheeses, bread & flavor combinations than you must go to La Bottega. You'll eat a sandwich that you definitely can't make at home unless you have access to the best that Italy has to offer in your fridge. I doubt that you do! Expect to pay $8-$9 for a full size sando but it's worth it as part of a weekly lunch ritual!
(4)Joanne M.
While the food here is good - the waitress was very aloof. Seemed like she didn't want to be there. But what I ordered was fresh and the wine was excellent. I went for lunch - maybe dinner time is better serviced. I will try again.
(3)Stacey M.
Love this place! It's cozy and that's a huge plus for a girl who likes to take a book to lunch. The staff is great, they're quick but don't crowd. I've heard good things about the "make your own sandwich" option, but my personal favorite is the grilled portabella with roasted red pepper and eggplant. Oh, almost forgot the chips...love them!
(5)Elisabeth D.
My husband and I dine here regularly and every dish is fantastic. My favorites are the Smoked Mushroom Ravioli and Rigatoni a la Vodka (with sausage). Get the half portion--it is perfect with a salad. My husband always orders an Arnold Palmer. The fresh iced tea with freshly muddled lemons is a perfect blend of refreshing goodness hand-crafted and shaken tableside by one of the excellent staff. Service is excellent. They don't take reservations so there can be a wait, but it is well worth it.
(5)Katrina W.
My FAVORITE restaurant in downtown Vancouver. The hosts and servers are always friendly and professional. The food ALWAYS tastes amazing. I have not ordered a single dish at La Bottega that I have not completely devoured. My personal favorite is the Smoked Mushroom Raviolis. The balsamic cream sauce is absolutely to die for. It is the perfect blend of cream and acid. La Bottega also makes freshly made Arnold Palmers in a cocktail shaker right in front of your eyes at your table. The combination of iced tea, freshly squeezed lemons and sugar is spot on. I absolutely recommend giving this refreshing drink a try during the hot summer months. Speaking of summer, La Bottega opens up their patio seating on Main St during these warmer months. The patio seating is covered by an oning and filled with bistro tables and chairs. I highly, highly recommend checking out La Bottega the next time you venture into Downtown Vancouver.
(5)Trudy F.
LOVE LOVE LOVE their wine selection and our server (usually the daughter of the owners who was practically raised in the place), really knows her wines... at least she knows what we enjoy. Tuesday nights are the best with "half price" wines up to $25 off. Encourages us to explore a bit. The food is always consistently good. Portions aren't large and when you order a small vs large pasta, it's small, but the large doesn't seem much bigger. They have simple dishes, bold dishes, familiar dishes, and always something that intrigues. Splitting an entree and a salad is usually perfect for us, coupled with a big bold red. Try dessert there or stroll down the street to Ice Cream Renaissance.
(4)Angela G.
Server was very kind. We ordered greek salad which was delicious. It had fresh crispy vegetables. Pasta with pesto was outstanding with the freshest parmesan I've ever tried. My husband had steak which he said was great but not a wow. The only down point is the bread, it did not taste fresh but very stale.
(4)Genius F.
Fantastic food and service. Mushrooms ravioli is unbelievable. Always a great time here and have been back many times because of how we were treated. Try everything's on the menu you won't be disappointed. The wine list is great and have quite a few options to suggest with each of their entrées.
(5)Rod S.
Classic European style family deli-restaurant; Authenticity verified by my Scotland born wife. We both enjoyed the food and the ambiance. This is a small place in Uptown Village right on Main. Great little spot if you want something less "formal" but with top quality service and food.
(4)Adam H.
Not worth the hype... Drive 10+ min to Portland and get yourself a wonderful Italian meal at one of the many fantastic restaurants. My husband had the smoked mushroom ravioli that had THE most disgusting looking dark brown gravy smothered over the top, balsamic mess. I had a pasta with the most bland vodka sauce on the face of the earth. Sooo not worth the money or time. Our waitress was great though.
(1)CM B.
We had not been here for a very long time, years in fact. The bruschetta was good and was made with a roasted red pepper, was good but nothing compared to the entrees. I had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. This meal looked perfect on the plate, was cooked to perfection, and tasted AMAZING!!!! My husband had the Carbonara and was very pleased with everything about the dish. I thought the portion size on his meal looked small, but when I tasted it, it was incredibly rich with flavor. The waitress knew the wines to a T, was attentive and very kind. A great date night atmosphere with great food.
(5)Nathan V.
Its so hard to find good places in Vancouver. I almost always give up and just go to Portland. When I do dine on the North side of the Columbia, this is my go-spot. A little more polished and pleasant than a strip mall joint, and a step above all other Vancouver establishments in terms of food and wine selection. I assume the size of the kitchen is to blame for the slightly small menu offering standard fare. Not the place for fireworks. But solid nonetheless.
(4)Teri W.
Amazing food awesome service. I cannot wait to go back! By far the best meal I've had in down town Vancouver. My husband loved it too!
(5)Fiona G.
Brought my mom here for her birthday and had an enjoyable time. At the end of the meal, she was able to select a complementary birthday dessert, which was a nice touch. Great, fresh pasta selections and good customer service. They have a build-your-own sandwich option with several fillings to choose from. Huge selection of wine. Delicious desserts too! My only complaint was that the spinach salad was tossed with too much olive oil! It would have tasted better if it weren't so glossy and dripping with oil. It's not a large restaurant, so be sure to make reservations.
(4)Megan B.
I was really happy with this place! The service was perfectly friendly and fast, the food was fresh and tasty. I got a shredded beef burrito enchilada style (the #3). It was very filling! Their green sauce is possibly the best I've ever had and the salsa was also yummy!
(4)Micah W.
Had the mussles and clams app. Followed by the pasta putanesca. Pretty good layering of flavors, though both dishes could have been more bold, especialy the Putanesca
(4)Rita P.
My husband, daughter and I ate here for the first time tonight. We had the antipasto platter. I had the Gnocchi & beef tips. My husband had the wild boar ragu. Our daughter had the spaghetti marinara with meatballs. We had tiramasu and cheesecake for dessert. The food for the most part was exceptional (as is to be expected when paying about $20 or more for your entree) the only small criticism would be in regards to the meatballs which where noticeably under seasoned. Service was fantastic and our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. My daughter did have to excuse herself to the restroom at one point at dinner and noticed that the restroom needed attention. This would be the main reason I give 4 stars instead of 5. We would definitely come back.
(4)Shawn G.
Fantastic service from Andy! Great recommendation on the Moscato. Keep it up.
(5)Francois A.
Recently moved to Vancouver after some extensive traveling and found la Bottega. What a fresh breath of air. The wine selection is good, the food is always cooked exactly as requested, and the service impeccable. Always greeted with a smile and treated as though family. In my experience the best resteraunt experience in Vancouver by far. I cannot compliment the staff enough as they always exceed expectations. When we have guests we always take them to la Bottega. Btw desserts are wonderful as well.
(5)Shannon H.
Service was poor the food was poor never going back ! We never were asked how our meal was the waitress almost dumped my plate on my lap My beer was warm and any case we will not go back
(1)Don J.
Food was above average, although quantity wise seemed a bit lacking. 2 of our 3 meals were pretty tasty, all prepared well enough. Had lunch there. If you like a very noisy atmosphere this might work for you. But its really not that fantastic and does not warrant a true 5-star IMO. Only 3 for me: they have mis-charged my credit card (just discovered this AM...), so now I have to hassle with that to fix it.
(3)Ben P.
One of my favorites on Vancouver. Beautiful cafe with fantastic outdoor seating. The wait staff is attentive and kind. Always a pleasure to eat lunch here on sunny spring days. Keep up the great work Bottega!!
(5)Roman V.
We just ate here for the third time last month and it was a hit again. Since moving here in August, this is the place we've been to most often (3 times) and have never been disappointed (except for the al dente beans in the soups, but that might just be a matter of taste, my husband thinks they're fine). During our last visit, I had the Amatriciana pasta and added the sausage (which is optional). You have to try it that way - it was absolutely delicious, the sauce was just a little spicy in the best way and that sausage...so flavorful and also just a little spicy. The staff have always been very friendly and knowledgeable about each dish and wine pairings. Other than having to wait for a table the last two times we've been there (less than 20 minutes), I can't really complain. This will be our go-to place for a nice evening meal or a special lunch date.
(4)Lindy J.
Spaghetti and meatballs were very tasty. I ate the whole plate! I will definitely be coming back with friends.
(4)Chad A.
Table Service type restaurant The little restaurant that could... that's what I'd deem this one. I'm convinced they can deliver a better product than they did today, but foodwise I wasn't terribly impressed. I think if I would have stuck with any of my first couple choices I would have been a lot happier. 3 stars isn't a bad thing, but I just know they could do so much better. La Bottega is so much more than just a full service Italian Restaurant... no no my friend. They are a deli selling Boar's Head meats and various sides as well as a wine bar and starting Nov. 3rd they will start serving dinner. I started off with their Soup of the Day which was Clam Chowder: yelp.com/biz_photos/la-b… which turned out to be a fairly decent representation of one. It had a nice creaminess in addition to good size pieces and portions of both clams and potatoes. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just needed something. Whatever that is it would have lifted this into Flavorville, but alas I found myself wishing I had ordered something else. For my entree I went with a half order of their Roasted Corned Beef Sandwich: yelp.com/biz_photos/la-b… This sandwich comes with Sautéed Onion, Serrano Chilies, and a Cheddar Horseradish Aioli on Grilled Rye which sounds pretty darn amazing on paper, but all but failed in execution. The sandwich turned out pretty dry and none of those flavors came through considering how strong you would imagine they would be. No lie... I didn't even taste or see the Serrano Chilies, so I don't even know if they were on there or not. This place is very charming inside and has an old world feel with a very modern and clean look. Service is extremely nice, attentive, and informative. I'm not suggesting anyone stay from here, so much as heeding a warning so to speak on what you order. Their desserts look incredible. Parking is found on the nearby streets as they have no dedicated lot.

Trying something new, let alone in Vancouver, is always a gamble. However, it has been years since I tried something new in Downtown Vancouver (yes the one in Washington). Based on a friends suggestion, a group of us ventured to La Bottega. During the day it apparently is an awesome deli (still waiting to try that). They have an abundance of wines, deli meats, cheeses, etc. But the real joy was eating during the dinner service. The venue is small-ish, the wait time not so bad and the service beyond amazing. Not overbearing, yet not absent. Just perfect. The service, food, and wine were just perfect. I look forward to traveling back to La Bottega to enjoy their other items and desserts. Give it a try, you will be plesantly surprised.

My girlfriend and I love this place. We always take friends and family here to. They have all been very happy with the food. The service is always great and the staff friendly. It is nice being able to get great food like this without going to Portland. The rotating menu is nice too because there are always different options.

The three stars are for atmosphere, which is charmingly old-world, and the service, which is friendly and attentive. The two non-stars are for the food, which is meh. We've been here twice, first for salad and dessert, which were excellent, and so good we thought we'd come back for dinner. I had the smoked mushroom ravioli which was slathered with an unappealingly gray amalgamation and had a strange vinegary tang. My husband and daughter ordered the buccatini marinara--hard to mess that up, right?--but it was bland and tasted canned, even with the freshly shaved parmesan. We were so disappointed and the $39 bill was painful to pay, although we were happy to tip our waiter. The bread was yummy but they only brought three tiny slices. We asked for more bread and my daughter ended up eating that for dinner because her buccatini marinara was so bleh.

The food was very good and the wait staff was friendly. The hazelnut roulette was delicuous. I have never seen a restaurant with such an impressive wine selection, truly spectacular. I will definitely come back.
(4)Jessica P.
This place is so great. The food is five stars and the atmosphere is relaxed. The staff is amazing! Love this place
(5)J R.
Great wine, ambience, salad and waitstaff. To pay 20$ for nuked pasta with canned pickled artichokes kinda kills the experience. Three stars. Take the drive to Portland, might be a better plan.
(3)Tien D.
Meh. The food here is pretty overpriced for the quantity and quality. Ordered the Smoked Mushroom Ravioli and some other dish along with their side of olives. I wasn't too keen on the taste of both dishes, as they were quite bland and left me still feeling hungry. The service isn't bad, but I don't think it is worth a return visit. It is a cute restaurant though.

This was my first real time exploring around Vancouver, WA. I've been up here before, but very briefly. We were up here on this trip staying overnight as I was scheduled to run in my first half marathon in Camas. Wanted to get a bit closer (couldn't find a room there) so I didn't have to wake up at some ungodly hour to get up there in time for the run. Vancouver being the big city in this part of Washington State seemed like a good place to find a room for the night. On my previous visit to Vancouver the only place I ever ate at happened to be directly across the street from La Bottega. That wasn't planned at all. We were looking for a place to eat lunch and through a smart-phone search we decided that this restaurant looked like a good choice. Upon arriving and getting a table outside I looked across the street and saw the only other place I had ever eaten at in Vancouver. Guess it really isn't that big of a city. My date and I couldn't say enough good things about La Bottega. This is the perfect lunch spot. I was trying to figure out what I should and shouldn't eat the day before a half marathon. I didn't want anything too heavy. Had already done some carb loading the night before for dinner so I wasn't looking for more pasta. I'm a sandwich guy. Simple as that. Once I saw the sandwich list here I was sold in one in particular. That sandwich is the Giuseppe. Here is the way the menu has it listed: Prosciutto Salami Fresh Mozzarella Roasted Garlic Mayo Tomato Basil Vinaigrette Ciabatta ($4.50 for a half, $9 for a whole). I obviously ordered mine without mayo because mayo is wrong in so many ways and I can't count how much more wrong mayo would be on a sandwich that has prosciutto on it. That is just sacrilege. This is a beautiful beautiful sandwich. Obviously the prosciutto makes it, but the other ingredients (I'm usually a simple prosciutto and mutz kind of guy) really added something else to this sandwich. I probably wouldn't order a sandwich like this from an Italian deli in NY/NJ, but I'm not in NY/NJ so I take what I can get and if I lived here I would take this sandwich often and I would be proud to do so. Aside from a restaurant, this is also a deli and wine shop. Looking around briefly it looked like they had a nice wine and beer selection as well as some nice items in the display case of the deli. I did see cannoli, but they were pre-filled. That is not a good thing, but I will not fault them for something I didn't try. This is a 5 star place in the heart of Vancouver, WA. Check it out.
(5)Pepe R.
Food was good, deli skills questionable. Staff was friendly however disorganized and didn't have much knowledge of the products they where selling.

I just love this little cafe in Uptown Vancouver. It's hard to find places with character and atmosphere on this side of the river but this place nails it both with ambiance and excellent food (made from scratch). It gets busy, so you might have a wait but it's worth it. They have a small patio out front and then a few tables inside. It has a deli-counter and great selection of wine and a few beers in bottles. Better than the usual 'Couve range of interesting sodas too. Here's what we ordered on this visit: Bruschetta (Tomato, Garlic, Basil, Lemon Herbed Ricotta, Grilled Bread) - Good-sized portion and really fresh with great bread. Smoked Mushroom Ravioli (Rosemary, Leeks, Mushrooms, Balsamic Cream Sauce) - Absolutely delicious and the pasta was very well-made. Earthy flavors. The small portion is plenty for one.) Tortiglioni Alla Vodka (Garlic, Tomato, Cream, Basil, Parmesan) - Creamy and rich. Would have liked the addition of a few fresh veggies. Blueberry Sour Cream Pie (Local Blueberries ,Pastry Crust, Sour Cream Custard) - The pastry was firm and tasty, the filling was a little sweet for me but hubby enjoyed it. We love the intimate and European-style vibe here and the food is good quality and flavorful. We've already been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Worth a visit!

Great place for lunch and dinner. Wine selection is very good. Food is awesome price is fair service is great atmosphere is casual but nice!

A lot of people clearly like this restaurant, because it was packed at 1:30pm on a Thursday afternoon. We actually had to wait 20 minutes for a table, and had time to browse the delightful little angel/crystal store next door. La Bottega has a lovely atmosphere....high ceilings, a small section with imported grocery items, solid, heavy wood tables, large windows. The service was also impeccable. I only wish that I had enjoyed the food more. Three of us started off with a caesar salad, and that item was memorable...whole spears of romaine stacked with a tingly and delicious dressing, and a generous sprinkling of parmesano reggiano. The bread was also very, very good, and I later wished that I had ordered one of the delicious-looking sandwiches that I saw delivered to countless other patrons. Where they fell down was the pasta. Three of us ordered the bucatini with marinara, and were disappointed with it. The pasta was slightly overcooked, and the sauce, well, I don't want to sound bitchy but it tasted like it came out of a jar! Seriously not worth the 10 dollars or so they were charging for it. Also, fish-lovin boy, my 7 year old, got the pan-fried rockfish, and he thought it was just ok. But that might have been because he refused to order the herb sauce that came with it....:). I tasted it and thought the fish was cooked perfectly, if a little underseasoned. All in all, I would go back to La Bottega, but will order a sandwich next time!

We arrived an hour before they closed and receive Amazing service, good wine and good food. We loved the atmosphere and the books that you can look through. Overall it is a lovely place to relax and enjoy your self and family members over a meal.

My Partner-In-Dine and I ate here tonight. Neither of us were particularly impressed. I was torn between the Fettuccine Alla Panna and the Beef Tips & Gnocchi. I asked if their gnocchi was made in-house. Nope. Fettuccine it was. I asked if the Fettuccine could be made without pesto. I have not found a pesto that I like. The server, very nice throughout, was concerned there might not be any taste. There was. It was nearly devoid of cheese. Somewhat bland. Though, the pancetta was perfectly crispy, tasty, and plentiful. I also, had the Caesar Salad with Anchovies. The salad came to the table looking quite pretty. It was several whole fresh Romaine leaves, with two anchovy filets on top. It looked beautiful. However, it was a bear to cut up the anchovy and the salad. I kept hitting the hard house made croutons. The croutons were nothing more than hard white and rye breads. Rye? In a Caesar Salad?. No garlic, no butter, no salt. I took them out. My PID had the Smoked Mushroom Ravioli with a side of meatballs. Her plate came out looking incredibly UNappealing. The ravioli, mushrooms, and what looked like little sticks were covered with the same dark brown gravy mud or is that muddy gravy. No shredded Parmesan, no sprig of green, no anything but, muddy brown. It tasted spicy. Though, I felt the ravioli were a bit undercooked the filling was simultaneously sweet and spicy. It was not especially terrific. Not terrible. Just not great. The meatballs were spicy and fine. We shared a truly wonderful Tira Misu. I will reiterate that our servers were wonderful. Attentive and helpful. We both decided we would not go here again.

My favorite sandwiches for lunch! Try either anything w hard bread, or wrapped in lettuce. Half sandwich always fills me up, and comes w homemade potato chips and a pickle! I love the olive tapenade. As for the wine and dinner menu, equally amazing - ravioli is great!
(5)Leigh V.
This is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner in Uptown. It reminds one of a NY deli restaurant with a few more upscale choices available & an awesome selection of wine and beer to boot! Dinner is pricier and a bit mire upscale & pricier than lunch but i consider it a not-to-be-missed date night on a summer evening when enjoyable open-air dining is available.
(4)Toby L.
A Vancouver gem that I bring my foodie Portlandia friends to - you'll love it. The mushroom ravioli is amazing, and the wine selection is fantastic. I've often swung by for a "to go" sandwich or bottle of wine, as it's the best thing going in downtown 'Couv.
(5)G J.
Great spot! Delicious and tasting menu. Excellent and fast service. And just the right atmosphere for a drink of drink or beer and some very tasty appetizers or sandwiches. Gives an upscale feel without the high price tag. The desserts looked great too.

It's so hard to find good food in downtown Vancouver. I actually had to Yelp to find this place! Haha. I've been trying to discover places on my own without reading all the Yelp reviews before I go, but I find Yelp very useful in Vancouver (back in LA, not so much, as people's opinions there usually tend to suck). Anyway! I was looking for a good sandwich and this place popped up! This place is cute and doesn't stop serving lunch at 2 like most places downtown (although it was pretty dead). I wish I had had more time to browse their wine shop and other offerings, but we were in a hurry. We both ordered a half sandwich. $4.50. Not a bad price. However, it was pretty small and definitely did not fill me up. I would for sure need a full sandwich but at $9 a pop, that's a pretty pricey sandwich. However, they did have good bread (I believe from Grand Central Bakery). The service was good and quick and the food was delicious and good quality. It is expensive for the portion, but it's probably one of the few places I'd actually return to downtown Vancouver.

I have only been for a light dinner and a glass of wine with a friend. The Gorgonzola cheese cake was lovely and the salads were quite good. I am interested in trying the dinner options some time soon. The space was charming and it was a great escape on a cold, rainy day.
(4)Melissa M.
Easily the best restaurant in Vancouver. Casual but authentic Italian cuisine in a non pretentious environment designed to make you feel comfortable. Excellent wine, awesome Ceasar salad, delicious vodka sauce (perfect al dente), delicious steak and amazing black and white mouse dessert ( seriously!!!!!). Super friendly but not overbearing wait staff. The only criticism I have is that I cant eat there every day and there are too many garlic cloves in the mashed potatoes. Feeling perfectly content after the best meal I've had in weeks!
(4)Jilian M.
I love this place. After dining here several times alone and with friends, I alway leave consistently satisfied. The pastas are great, the meats are wonderful, the wine is superb! The service is friendly, the seating is good and is not too cramped and they are anything but pretentious. The place is run by friendly folks who want to share great food and it shows.

Food was good service was questionable.

When I heard about La Bottega, I was super excited to try it. Hearing such wonderful reviews, I decided this would be a great place to take the parental figures out to dinner. Upon arriving, everything was as I had heard: a delightful space, a friendly staff, and a menu that looked wonderful. I was definitely impressed. Glancing over the menu, a vegetable pasta dish (which I don't see on the online menu anymore) happened to catch my attention. I barely had time to actually look forward to my meal, as we were promptly served. Exciting, right? Impressed with everything I had experienced thus far, I eagerly took a bite of my meal; unfortunately, my verdict was not so exhilarating. The sauce was super sweet and the veggies were super salty. It was truly an odd mix. Not that enthusiastic about my meal, I decided to depend upon our conversation to distract my taste buds. Out of the blue my mother "tactfully" commented on my dad's antipasto platter saying "Well that is a weird looking olive...oh...OHHH Jesus! That is definitely not an olive!" Being intrigued by the remark I looked over as my dad shifted his place and sure enough, said olive shaped object was really the head of a tiny octopus. Now, I will be the first to admit that I am not the most adventurous when it comes to cuisine, but I try my hardest to at least ignore and accept what others eat. But no matter how hard I tried to ignore this meal, I had to draw the line with little eyes staring at me. Between my dinner and the octopus stare down, I was definitely ready to leave, which was unfortunate because I really wanted to love this place. I am trying to be optimistic because I believe La Bottega is actually better than what I experienced. One of these days I will have to convince myself to go back and give it a second chance.

I was on a downtown crawl and popped in on a rainy afternoon a few years ago. Since then, it's been one of my favorites. They are truly authentic Italian cuisine (No, Olive Garden isn't authentic, folks!). Everything from penne with vodka sauce to unique lasanga and raviolis, they do everything well. The waitresses get to know you and the service is always wonderful. I highly recommend their sandwiches with homemade chips. Also, their mushroom raviolis are stupendous and their Caesar Salad is out of sight when you add chicken salad. They are not your fast food joint with slap-happy employees. They care about their food and the quality. It shows. Suitable for dinner, lunch, dessert or wine, La Bottega is fantastic. They are a treasure in downtown Vancouver and a lovely escape into Old World food.

First time exploring Vancouver, and stumbled in for lunch on a fluke. I had half corned beef sandwich and small pasta with salsa fresca. My wife had half Giuseppi sandwich and small fig salad. Everything was delicious - interesting, well-seasoned, and well-cooked. We both remarked that everything tasted fresh - pasta sauce, sandwich makings. Their housemade fries and pickles were delicious and nice touches. We travel through Vancouver frequently and have been looking for a pied a terre for lunch - this is our new passing-through-Vancouver hangout.
(5)Rosetta S.
I've eaten here many times and love it. The smoked mushroom ravioli is awesome. I also love the build your own sandwich, great deal if your load up on veggies. Patio is great when the sun is shinning, and I love the atmosphere.
(4)jess e.
My Boss took me here for my birthday lunch. The place is cute, and things were fresh. I had some sort of pasta with vodka cream sauce, which was pretty good. Not spectacular tho (for the price). I would choose La Botega over olive garden, but i would choose Cheesecake Factory over this. I like helping out the local Vancouver community though....
(3)Greg F.
Not cheap, but the food is very good. I had the Polenta with Calabrese sausage, spinach and Romano cheese. I have often eaten Calabrese style cuisine, and this dish feels authentic. Very bold and harmonious flavors! I like that the menu features non-generic dishes. My wife and I both cook very good Italian food, so few restaurants equal what we prepare at home. This is an exception. The ambiance was very pleasant and the service generally good. BTW, I notice that the writers of most of the negative reviews seem to have difficulty with the written word. I will definitely be back.
(4)Dave R.
If you're in the mood for some excellent Italian food you've got to check this place out. Authentic Italian w/ a menu to please anyone. Fairly priced dishes for the amount of food you receive! Come heck it out & Love this place for yourself!
(4)D J.
We went to La Bottega expecting a nice relaxed dinner atmosphere considering the higher than average prices, but were ultimately disappointed in both the ambience and the food. There was no air conditioning on a 95 degree day so we sweat during our entire meal even with the ceiling fans. We were seated near the window, which soon became a doorway with wait staff rushing back and forth past our table to get to outdoor seating. Strike two. The food took 45 minutes to get to our table. Strike three. My husbands dish looked good, but mine was not. If you know what's good for you don't order the boring brown rice penne. Although I give them points on offering something healthy and vegetarian. The service was ok but still there was an underlying snooty-tooty vibe going on. We won't be returning.
(2)Erik L.
Nice little cafe in Vancouver which we happened to stop at on our way back to Seattle. It is close to the highway and relatively quick. Sandwiches are fantastic and you can order a half sandwich and also order an octopus salad. This Octopus was very tender..

Sometimes it's hard to wrap your mind around Downtown Vancouver, and it can be even harder to believe that a model of dining reminiscent of a European cafe is starting to turn up there. In "Uptown Village" (Vancouver's version of a pseudo PDX Sellwood and SE Hawthorne mashup) sits La Bottega. Although bundled up for the winter, during sunny days the garage doors that make up this downtown storefront are pulled up and the little bistro spills out onto Main Street, blending into the local demographic. Open for lunch and dinner, the menu is extensive with variation of plate sizes. Pick a pasta dish for your main course, or have it as a smaller portion to pair with an entree or salad. (Though it's hard to beat Smoked Mushroom Raviolis!) Appetizers and antipastos, build your own sandwiches, and seafood and steak plates are completed by picking out a glass or bottle of Italian, Spanish, Australian, or Regional wine. And La Botegga might have the best dessert menu in the area. While extensive, you can't go wrong with Tiramisu, Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake, or Homemade Gelatos... and paired with a port, dessert wine, or coffee you are set my friend. While they doesn't take reservations, do let them know if you're bringing a group and they'll work to accommodate you. It's not a place for kids, nor is it one for a quick meal. Here one can't help but drop their speedy American habits and embrace the lost minutes and lost evening to a good time. The roar of conversation and laughter is met with the clinking of wine glasses and small plates, helping to remind us that sometime the best thing to do is live, and get another round in at the bar. You'll go mental if you attempt to think otherwise.
(5)Katherine B.
most beautiful patio seating i've ever been too. The Clam Linguini was amazing, but i'd have to say my favorite thing is the caprese' salad. Juiciest tomatoes ive ever had. There was something about the olive oil that was different to me, but in a good way. It had alot of flavor, which you cant really say about olive oil. I think it was rosemary flavored olive oil. For $11.00 i was skeptical. I get caprese' all the time at other deli's and restaurants and usually pay about $6-$8. La Bottega's caprese' was worth the money. I came here for dinner by myself and ended up having the most amazing conversation with a lady sitting by herself on the patio table next to mine. We found that we have alot in common and she, somehow, payed for my check without me knowing, and doing it without saying anything. I wish I could thank her, but she left about 15 minutes before I did, and when I asked for my tab, the waitress said, " oh, Robin, the lady sitting at the table across from you, she paid your bill already." I was very close to crying I was so amazed. There really are good people out there, and this deli will always remind me of the time I met an amazing woman, and that there are still caring, and giving people in this world. Thanks Robin.
(5)Scott D.
They really rushed us out of here tonight. Brought salads and pastas all at once about 3 minutes after we ordered, which makes me think it is not freshly made. Have had good meals here in the but they are not consistent.
(2)R T.
redemption meal! okay, three meals in the span of two days. dessert after an awful experience at that other place, then lunch today and dinner tonight. what can we say, when we find something we like, we're dedicated. this place has cured meats hanging from the rafters. need i say more? expansive wine collection, good cheeses, pickled vegetables, prosciutto, salami, olives, etc. it is fantastic. if you are recommending a place to eat to people from out of town, this would be the place to advertise. not some podunk, dumb cartoon of a restaurant. i tried the guinea fowl, wrapped in bacon, with arugula and couscous. the couscous was amiss. it was the larger size, which i don't like and always has the consistency of dumpling-like bits of dough. but the dish as a whole was like a stew flavor. a great idea, just a bit off the mark with the couscous. she had the sweet potato ravioli with creme fraiche and a compote-like bell pepper topping. they were fantastic. very simple and sweet. the peppers were a perfect touch. we shared a cheesecake for dessert. all we can both say is it was the best cheesecake either of us have had. it was perfectly done. finally, i was satisfied and happy, which is how food should make you feel.
(4)Mike G.
Let me start off by saying that this place is not bad...it is fine. It is a really cool place inside. The wine selection is fantastic too! Ok, now on to the food, the flavors were good to very good, BUT the portions....come on! Horrible, just plain horrible! Not a good value with portions this size...and they even have a small and a large size. Well with that being said, service is just OK...empty waters all night, did not really seem like they wanted to wait on anyone and it wasn't even busy. So, with that being said, would we go back? ya, the desserts looked fantastic!
(3)Jill H.
This is a lovely place to eat outside when the weather is warm. The beer was excellent, my steak was ... phenomenal! The mashed potatoes and asparagus that came with it were delectable. It was pricey, but well worth it.
(5)angela l.
Cute deli/cafe in Vancouver plus very easy to find to get a quick bite to eat for lunch as we drove from Portland to Seattle. Sandwiches are fantastic and you can order a half sandwich if you want to save room to try other things. Sweet potato ravioli are good but nothing spectacular. It's just sweet potato, ravioli pasta, and creme fraiche, which aren't bursts of flavors. The red pepper coulis was incredibly flavorful though. I wish I would have tried some of the other appetizers.
(4)Natalie C.
My *FAVORITE* restaurant in The 'Couve! I eat here every chance I get. The food is delicious, and I've tried just about everything on the menu. The Gorgonzola Cheesecake is my favorite app, the pastas are all good, the mushroom ravioli is a fave. I overlook the mediocre/inconsistent service because the food is so worth it!!
(5)R D.
Nice and cozy cafe in Vancouver downtown offering good food, yummy desserts, and wonderful ambience. You can select from their tasty Sandwiches and can order even half a sandwich with salad. Have a good wine collection, but we couldn't try. The desserts are to die for. Loved the place.
(4)Daniel B.
I eat here regularly. The food and service are both stellar. Shockingly, it's a challenge to find tasty, elegant Italian food in Clark County (no, Olive Garden doesn't count). Everything is either over-sauced or over-cheesed. Enter La Bottega: a restaurant with chefs who know how to prepare authentic, tasty Italian cuisine. Try anything from a meat dish to a pasta dish--you won't be disappointed. The food is prepared perfectly--the right blend of spices, sauces, and cheeses. Their wine list is incomparable, albeit a bit pricey. In terms of ambiance, this restaurant is top-notch. The servers are well-trained, attentive, and kind. The restaurant is always clean and organized--the deli/wine shop/restaurant combo really works for them. Come here for dinner, they do not disappoint. Hungry for lunch? Stop by and try one of their absolutely stellar custom-made sandwiches (they have a new sandwich special weekly, along with several standards). I've never been disappointed, and I doubt I ever will be.
(4)andy f.
An Italian deli/restaurant with a casual feel that is also slightly upscale for downtown Vancouver. The build-your-own sandwiches are amazing, I have yet to branch out for anything else. Great wine selection too.
(4)Martha B.
This is, by far the best Italian restaurant in Vancouver. The menu is a bit limited, but the food is amazing, the wine list is INCREDIBLE!! and if you can not find a wine on the list, wander over and look at the wines on the shelves. You will find many bottles that aren't on the list. It's a quaint little place that also sells small merchandise (to take home) like pickled asparagus, stuffed olives, Italian pastas, etc. One of our favorite places to eat locally. We ALWAYS take our guests here and every time we get thumbs up from them. Keep in mind, if you are a BIG eater the portions here are small. But the starters are fabulous and you will definately need one or two starters. We like small portions, so this place is perfect for us. Two thumbs WAY up!!
(5)M M.
Love La Bottega! We live over on the other side of the state and come here whenever we are in town! Great Italian food! Great selection of products to buy!
(5)Kristi K.
We went in a few weekends for with a large party (12) at 8 p.m. on a Saturday night. We started with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a Chianti and several appetizers - the cheese plate, antipasto plate, Gorgonzola cake and the garlic chili prawns. We ordered a number of different entrees - a couple of proscuito wrapped chicken breasts, the TORTIGLIONI, mushroom ravioli, bresaola salad, and a few others. I ordered the pork cheek, which they were out of and got the Wagyu sirloin. All the food was delicious, hot, and most impressively, it all came out at the same time for a party of 12. We all got dessert - several canollis and ginger creme brulees and lemon cake. I think one of the best things about dinner - aside from all the food coming out at the same time - was they close at 9:30 but they let us stay until almost 11 to finish up. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. I am definitely a fan of La Bottega and will make the trip from Portland anytime.
(5)Jenn D.
The pasta and sandwich selection is outstanding. We will be regulars!

I've been living in Uptown Vancouver for over a year now and La Bottega is definitely one of my top choices to walk/bike down to for lunch and dinner. Every experience dining here has been consistently fantastic. The wine and beer selection is great, the specialty food items are fun and great for gifts, the staff is always friendly and the food never fails to satisfy. I've tried a number of their lunch sandwiches, love the addition of the yummy homemade potatoes. I've also tried their house special lasagna and love the mushroom ravioli's. I appreciate the portion size, I walk away feeling satisfied and never stuffed. The atmosphere is cozy with Italian charm. I've dined here with my parents (they love it), co-workers, and have spent time enjoying long lunches with my boyfriend.
(5)Sara S.
Always a good meal here.
(4)B B.
Best Italian food in Vancouver, period. I've pretty much had the entire menu and I cannot recall anything I didn't like. Some items seem to come in oddly small portions and others in larger - not sure what the thing is with that but it all tastes so good.
(4)Mike D.
Great food, but a bit cramped. Price of success, I suppose. 4.5 out of 5 stars. Would eat again.
(4)Tanya M.
This is one of those places that I really want to be out of this world. I love what they're doing and I want them to be successful. They have a meat/cheese counter with amazing meats - I do highly recommend this if you're looking to create your own charcuterie plate for a picnic, etc. They also have a nice selection of wines and sauces/snackets, etc to purchase and take. We've been here a couple of times for dinner because the atmospher is neat, good service, great menu options, but I'll say that their food has only been OK. I keep hoping that it improves, because the flavor is the only thing lacking with the restaurant.
(3)Jill J.
I ate at this place three times and each time was bad. The pasta are very bland and the pasta is too over cooked. The sauces are also flavorless. and they put too much on the pasta. It's almost like soup. My husband likes this place more then I do but he doesn't order the pasta dishes. He also likes the interior.
(2)Lisa H.
I found the wait staff very pleasant and attentive but like some of the other reviewers here, the portion size is extremely small for the price. Now I actually prefer NOT to be served a metric ton of food but I also believe that you shouldn't pay $8.00 for 5 mushroom raviollis served with a less than spectacular sauce with 2 small half slices of bread with no butter on the table. He placed an extra plate on the table. Was that for butter I wonder? I don't know. I had a glass of wine, the above mentioned raviolli, and a slice to cheesecake for a grand total of $23.00. I must say however that the slice of cheesecake was huge! It cost almost a much as my entree. Would not recommend if you're a dude taking your lady out for a nice meal. You will probably still be hungry after your entree and you will drop a boatload of money! This place might be OK if you're just doing wine or coffee and dessert....I guess. 4 stars for the nice wait staff, 1 star for the food/overall value.

Elizabeth M is right that the smoked mushroom ravioli is great!! I like their sandwiches too. I'm a lactose intolerant vegetarian and I can eat there, so most folks will have no problem finding good food on the menu. Their deserts are excellent too! You can sit out side on the sidewalk when the weather is good. Terrific place. It sometimes gets a little noisy.

Talk about Epic Fail, where do I start? I'll never come back to this place. I ordered the $11 antipasto platter it gets dropped off with no baby octopus she says "I'll go ask if were out". Of course they were out, takes forever to get a few sandwiches then she forgets my soup so I get it to go, in a box. Did I mention the gang members hanging out in the back office? Pass this one try Provechos around the corner if your actually on a lunch break and only have an hour to eat!

Hands down, the best restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Having moved to the Hough/Uptown Village neighborhood from NE Portland, I was prepared to be disappointed with the food options in my new 'hood. La Bottega has been my salvation. The menu is unique and varied, food fresh and presentation spot on. This is the only Vancouver restaurant that I would drive from Portland to go to. I've had 5 different dishes (as hard as it is to stray from the Mushroom Ravioli) and have not yet been disappointed. While not inexpensive, you get what you pay for in food quality and service.
