Ignore the name. This place has THE BEST teriyaki in town!!!! They're thin and every bite DELICIOUS!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!! And CHEAP, no nicer way to say it! Go there, your tummy will thank you! :) It is NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, although they can speak fluent English now, the teriyaki is NO where near as good as before. I'm flunking it down from five to two stars.

Goofy goose was a pleasant surprise for me this year. I have lived in Tacoma for several years and never tried it before. I highly recommend the chicken yakisoba and the big wally burger. A great place for a quick cheap lunch.

Came in for the first time and ordered a #5, a Goofy burger which is their version of a Smitty burger. I ordered it with an extra patty which was a good thing as the roll was pretty big and would have dwarfed a single patty. It comes with tomato, onion, pickle, lettuce, and a good slightly tangy sauce. It was served hot and had a great flavor overall. It also came with cheese which I could have done without as it was American cheese and it didn't add anything to the burger. The fries were thin cut and hot with just the right amount of salt. I like their fry sauce which is pretty standard flavor-wise but still manages to get the mix right. I like the fact it is family run and they offer Korean food as well. My next visit, and yes, there will be a next cost, I will order the bulgogi. I love bulgogi and the young man working the counter assures me his mothers bulgogi is the best you can get outside of Korea! We'll see...

Good variety of American fast food and Asian food. The teriyaki is good and inexpensive, and the Big Wally, although it may seem pricey to some cheapos at $5, is huge and well worth it. Every town should have a place to eat like Goofy Goose.

Awesome Food, Awesome Service, Clean and Friendly. I have been coming here for 5 yrs and always satisfied. The goofy burger is really good. So is the lunch specials and the yakisoba. Friendly staff as well.

Strangely Surprised So there is a random mix of teriyaki and burgers, and the restaurant was the quite busy for 3 o'clock on a Thursday afternoon. I had to get a to-go order so I was not able to order the teriyaki dishes that everyone else was eating. I did choose one of the burger and fry specials, and it was DAMN good!!! I have been to all the "supposed" best burgers of Seattle, and they are mostly a gimmick and way over priced! I had one of the best priced cheez boogerz, fries and drink combos that I have ever had in the area. $5.50!!! Everything was fresh and made on the spot, not old fries, and half prep-cooked burger patties. A+ to this place. The cashier was very friendly which is sometimes hard to find in this area. I will definitely go back, and explore this delightfully expanded menu. Props on having a Christian radio station playing, most places would not have the courage to do that. Stoked about this little gem in Tacoma.

Yeah, I like this place. It's really clean and it does play Christian music. I had the wonton soup, and they put extra spices into the soup. It was amazing! I also had the gozya, in which was good too. No complaints so far.. I'll go back anyway!

I've gotta give these folks a solid five stars... There's a lot of people who simply will not award a restaurant of this nature a high rating based on aesthetic... but if you look past the cafeteria interior and the strange dichotomy on the menu, a Tacoma gem is discovered. First, the dichotomy I'm referring to is the presence of a full teriyaki house menu coupled with hamburgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, chicken nuggets, fried shrimp, and fried fish... as well as, of course, french fries and onion rings. Brilliant, really, when you think about a family who has a few members craving something a little more exotic while the two youngest won't eat anything but a cheeseburger. Couple this with the fact that everything on the menu is under 10 dollars, and you have quite the go to place for a last minute meal, or in our case, a really convenient drunken stroll up (as my friends live sneezing distance from the front door). Spicy Chicken Teriyaki - I'm about to contradict previous reviews of certain other teriyaki joints, but these guys do it best. It is hot as hell, generous portions, and understanding that it's rib meat, the chicken is still delicious. I ate the entire plate, I loved every bite, and my only regret was the Tilt I pounded prior to my arrival (pm for longer, less glamorous version of story). Bulgogi - A friend had this but passed it away after 2/3 consumption and I was happy to assist in the completion. Not quite the South Korean Way perfection around 90th street, but pretty damn good for 5 minutes of prep time and 8 bucks. Tender and well marinated, served piping hot, very good. I can't speak for the burger and corndog that were eaten as my homies put enough ketchup and mustard on them to cover up any semblance of flavor, but from the look (and i feel confident judging a corndog by looks) they were done well and dirt cheap. I'm a fan - I will return.

I go here every so often when I need a good hot and spicy meal. The spicy chicken teriyaki is actually spicy and has some heat to it unlike most of the teriyaki joints and their up to ten star rating systems around town. Figures it would be at an obscure place like this but hey it works. Low prices and good food for what it is.
(4)Heather M.
Yummy food and great customer service!! Have been to this place several times and always enjoy coming here!
(5)Nick W.
What a strangely named restaurant. Came in for a hamburger, but ended up eating Asian food instead. HUGE portion of chicken katsu, definitely the best value around. Staff was extremely friendly. I preferred this place over bento and joy teriyaki.

After living in Tacoma for 15 years, I finally decided to try this place. Got 3 Goofy Burgers, fries and drinks. $8.07 each after tax. Burgers are huge, delicious, juicy, with oowie gooie cheese. Meat could use a bit more seasoning. HOWEVER, customer service here is amazing. They go above and beyond. A mother and child came in after I did. While we were waiting for the food, the little girl went to the temporary tattoo machine thingy that is in the joint. She didn't get many of the tattoos she was looking for. The guy behind the counter opened the machine, handed her a stack of the temp tattoos she was looking for. Didn't ask her to give the others back, didn't suggest a trade, just gave them to her. On top of that, he gave the little girl a free milkshake just to be that much nicer. Way above and beyond!!! Will definitely be back. Try the goofy burger, it's on a kaiser roll. Fries are very crispy, but could use some salt on them.

The Goofy Goose is a great place to get some teriyaki and a delicious shake and fast! The customer service is great, I am always greeted and treated very well. They definitely appreciate and notice when you come back often. I personally love to get the bulgogi bowl, the fried rice, or the chicken katsu. It's a casual place to get something good on the go or just eat in.
(5)Ric C.
This place has been here for at least 40 years. The menu has changed and includes some Asian dishes. I went for the old time grilled-onion burger (single) with cheese, onion rings and a chocolate shake. All was fantastic.
(4)Melissa H.
I haven't gone to his place in a long time, mainly because I stopped working at the nail shop across the street lol. There teriyaki's there baggers and even their milkshake is quite good. My favorite would have to be the peanut butter milkshake! Definitely not something you want to consume on a daily basic! The staff is friendly and the cashier guy is kind of cute too! Overall a cute little stop, rate food and friendly services!
(5)Brandi P.
Although the food was ok, a little salty, you should not play hard core religious music in a place where you are dealing with public people very uncomfortable!
(3)Lee H.
Good burgers, very friendly staff, good location, and a family atmosphere. I've never tried the teriyaki, but their mushroom swiss burger is one of the best you'll find. My wife likes the goofy burger, but I'll have to take her word for it because if I'm at the Goose, I'm always ordering that mushroom swiss.
(4)Grindy S.
Not bad, though we expect more from a place that offer a Goofy Burger and a Super Wally Burger. Good shakes.
(3)Kevin H.
The food here is really good. The fries are great hole in the wall fast food fries and the burgers are juicy and delicious. Definitely give it a try! Bulgogi burger is really good. Think of this as a burger/Chinese food/ ramen shop. Don't let the look of the place fool you. Its all good here
(5)Hanna K.
Goofy goose gets it right--the price point, the quick and friendly customer service, and the variety offered. Their burgers and fries are delicious, but so are their teriyaki. The portions are great--a great bang for your buck!

The Mrs. and I finally tried the Goofy Goose last weekend. I cannot even count how many times we have driven by this place, but have been too scared to give it a shot. Due to the mostly positive reviews from Yelp, we finally did last Friday. First of all, the food was great. We each tried the burgers with fries and onion rings and then ordered chicken teriyaki and Mongolian beef to have as lunch the next day. Now, this is where things get a little interesting. After eating my bacon cheeseburger and onion rings, both of which were very good, I became very ill. Lets just say that I spent most of my evening in the smallest room in the house. Now, sometimes my system can be a little funny, but I am also extremely allergic to MSG. But I wanted to give Goofy Goose another chance. So on Saturday my wife and I split our order of chicken teriyaki and our order of Mongolian beef for lunch, our planned left overs. My wife had to work on Saturday, so she took hers to work, while I enjoyed mine at home. Once again the food was great. The teriyaki chicken wasn't too sweet or cloying. There were great grill marks on the meat and the portion size was decent. The Mongolian beef was excellent. Maybe some of the best that we have had in the Tacoma area. The heat level was noticeable, but by no means overpowering. Watch out for those little red "devil" peppers, as they were hidden throughout the mound of beef. The portion was a good size and there was actually a higher beef to onion ratio. Another plus was that the beef actually tasted and looked like beef. But now to the not so pleasant part. Not long after finishing my lunch, I again became extremely ill and spent the better part of my Saturday in the smallest room in the house. Now my wife, who basically has the stomach of a goat and can eat anything at almost any spice level, came home from work and had the same reaction. Thank goodness we have two small rooms readily available. My wife has continued to be sick this week and confessed that a stomach bug has been going around at work. Safe to say, we might have to give Goofy Goose another chance someday. But will definitely make sure to ask whether or not they use MSG. Oh, almost forgot. Some prior Yelpers have complained about the service. My wife reported that the lady at the counter was very nice and polite and even offered suggestions from the menu. We did takeout and the wait was minimal.

The Goofy Goose is a must-go in Tacoma. The two best items on the menu are chicken teriyaki and the Big Wally burger. GG features great lunch special prices on both of these items. The owners go above and beyond.
(5)Brianna M.
The Goofy Goose exceeded my expectations! Fast and friendly service and great food! I was apprehensive because of the look of the restaurant but it is truly a gem on 6 Ave. The Goofy Goose Burger tastes like home.
(5)James S.
Pretty good burger/teriyaki joint. The teriyaki itself is pretty reliable, not amazing but worth the price. The burgers are also pretty standard fare with some good in house specials. Not being open on Sunday is kind of a hassle, as is the Christian rock that's always playing.
(3)Heather M.
Something for everyone here, and everything came out hot and tasty. The restaurant is clean and family friendly. We liked the chicken teriyaki, the Wally burger, the fried rice and the chicken yakisoba. Everyone left happy and full. Looking forward to returning to try more of their extensive menu, full of reasonably priced options.

This place has great food along with great service and great prices. Along with it being a family owned and operated place. This place is like a Grandma's cooked food, and that yummy diversified menu as well.
(5)Chris C.
This place is great. Me and my friends eat here about 3 times a week. We've had a variety of items from the menu ranging from burgers, teriyaki, shakes, and buglogi. There has never been a meal that let us down. The staff is great and friendly. They now know us by face and by our voices over the phone, so they have our food with sauce ready to go when we walk through the door. The food is incredible! And they work real hard to make sure the food is cooked to perfection. Goofy Goose will have my business for years to come. Try the "Biggy Wally Special", and an order of the house fried rice.
(5)Jessica S.
Teriyaki, process chicken crap. Crinkle Fries available with Fry sauce. Hence the 3 stars.
(3)Ted P.
"under new management", aye? Well, nothing too goofy found inside... run of the mill Tacoma teriyaki joint that also serves burgers and fries. The burgers were decent, as were the fries. The highlight was probably the chocolate milkshake. Honestly, there's not a lot to recommend about the place, but then again, there's not a lot of reasons to outright avoid the goose either.
(3)Cyrus C.
My wife is Asian and even she thought the Asian lady taking the order was rude. The food is blan and boring. If you call adding a cheese burger to a teriyaki menu "verity" then you need to venture out more. I wouldn't waste your time. There is plenty of other local restaurants worth trying over this.
(2)Stephen M.
I ate there about three hours ago. The lady heard my buddy curse to me and she refused to speak to us afterwards. I thought she was just messing around but she wouldn't take our order.

My boyfriend and I discovered this place on our lunch break. They have a large variety from burgers to asian cuisine (teriyaki chicken, beef, pork - fried rice, korean bulgogi, etc). Price is reasonable and the food itself is pretty good! I would recommend this to anyone thats looking for lunch in the 6th ave area.
(4)H B.
The Goofy Burger is great (husbands fave). Also love the Deluxe burger. I've had the orange chicken and the yakisoba - both very good. In a nut shell this place does not disappoint. Fast, tasty burgers. Shakes are great too! Best part.....FRY SAUCE. Frisko doesn't have the sauce which brings me back to Goofy Goose every time. Not open Sunday, which is disappointing, but I still give it 5 stars! If you're looking for a good local burger place for quick take out this is IT!

Lol first time I tried a teriyaki burger and I was like wow. Really different but it was fresh, juicy and yummy lol, definitely do recommend a blueberry banana shake btw!
