Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Good fire grilled pizza and friendly staff. The chicken wings made my mouth water. They had a good kick but not to much. I have had the James favorite and the Meateaters. I would recommend both. If your up to it try Irish Death beer.

Came for lunch and ordered a salad. I feel bad reviewing a pizza place based on their salad but I just had pizza the day before and it was just ok. I would like to come here again and sample a few more things. Good beer selection and the staff was very attentive.

Thoroughly enjoy the food and atmosphere every time I go here. I've had the pizza every time in one form or another (as the main dish, as a slice I "borrow" from someone else, as part of a meal that includes a salad, and so on). It's always great. The salads have always been good as well. This is my go-to place when I'm in Tacoma and I want to have a good dinner with my family in a comfortable place.

Went to Farelli's and picked up a pizza tonight. The atmosphere of the place is nice but the pizza is extremely overpriced for the quality.. My fiance and I ordered a half plain, half chicken pizza and it was $27!!! The amount of chicken on less than half of the pizza was sparse to say the least. The plain was satisfying but nothing special. Overall this pizza was just OK, and very expensive. I could make a better pizza at home :/
(2)Molly A.
Just went on a date here. The Alfredo Chicken pizza was excellent. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The music gets really loud at 6 so it's not very romantic but I figured I'd test it out!

My bill came to a total of $68: I ordered a 16 inch sausage pizza, breadsticks, side salad, and a kid's meal with sprite for drinks. I think that is pretty steep for that and the food was so-so. The worst part is $12 of that $68 was for my gluten-free cheese pizza, which was THE WORST GLUTEN FREE pizza I have EVER had. It pretty much tasted like the cardboard box with flavorless sauce and cheese. I won't ever eat here again. The service was ok, but not stellar.
(1)Corinne P.
Yeah... just can't like this place. No matter how many tries I give them. We went inside, and just sat there. Our waitress disappeared a lot. The pizza was just moderate, nothing special in any way. I probably won't be returning anytime soon.
(2)Jessica W.
Horrible pizza...very cheap ingredients...cheapest thing on menu was a happy hour personal pizza and it was worse than totinos
(1)Brian S.
Went in for a post lunch rush meal and was greeted fair enough. Myself and a colleague ordered a slice, soup, and side salads. The order was simple enough and took 30 minutes to be served. The side salad, described as a mixed green salad, composed of bland romaine lettuce and was topped with cheese onions and olives from what was probably their pizza making station. The sicilianmeatball pizza tasted good but was nothing special. I'd consider coming back again if there was nothing better but otherwise it's not worth my time.

We visited on a Friday this week and waited twenty minutes at the bar for service. Our server wasn't swamped, though, she was chatting with a table of friends, then getting a backrub from another server, then doing whatever the hell else she was doing other than waiting tables. This, unfortunately, is a theme here. I'm biased when it comes to pizza places. When I was in college, I worked at a pizza place in an Italian neighborhood of Boston, serving college kids pizza from 5pm till 2am on Friday nights. It was a job I never thought about much until I found myself scrubbing flour out of my fingers, dealing with drunks, and coming home with burn blisters on my knuckles from the pizza hearth. I liked the job, though. I liked the hard work, although I knew I would never be a professional cook. Twenty years on, I think I look at restaurants through the lens of what I had to deal with when I worked in the food industry. Friday night, when I realized how long we had been waiting, and that my wife was getting annoyed, I walked up to the bartender and asked for two beers, then pointed to my table and asked if we could get menus. After we finished our beers and still hadn't received the menus, we paid the bartender for the beers and left. During past visits, I've shrugged off under-cooked pizza, the dough still white and moldable, and we've shrugged off ridiculous waits for food, up to forty minutes for a pizza, because I felt bad for the waitstaff. "I've been in their shoes," I said to myself. In the end though, the food here costs about $30-40 for two people, and I'm not willing to be sympathetic any more at that price for a pizza and some beers. The service here sucks, clearly. For the price, and for the location, it shouldn't.
(1)Grace A.
I need to come by more, but so far this place gets 5 stars. Excellent service, bartender/ bar manager is adorable (once again; if you say that doesn't matter, you are lying) and lemme just tell ya--- get the bread sticks. I think I liked them more than the pizza, but, to be fair, I had already had two lunches the day I went. That's two lunches within an hour and a half of coming to Farelli's. Good beer selection, pretty dece menu; I think next time I will try the Greek pizza and I think they had a few delicious sounding appetizers I need to get on. HH is wonderful. Avoid the F-bomb. Well, actually, depends how much you like red Powerade and, you know, getting really wasted and possibly having a nice headache the next day. Good times.
(5)Jolene D.
Had a first date here and had never been. The layout for the seating is open and the waitresses are nice. I read a lot of their reviews and had always wanted to eat here, especially when I lived very close to it
(5)Donelle R.
Happy hour is the best here. 3-6pm, including Saturdays. Get the nachos, they are tasty and enough for two if not three people. The f-bomb drink is their signature drink and I'd definitely recommend trying it. Staff are really on top of it and friendly. Atmosphere is great. Right off of 6th avenue in the heart of it all.
(4)Annie K.
Four of us ate pizza and we all had stomach problems. My daughter and I shared a gluten free pizza, and our stomachs suffered the most. Today I am staying home from work - my 2nd day of tummy pain. I will not return to Farrelli's.

The pizza is so good and fresh, without the grease! I came here with my boyfriend and his friends for food and drinks. Beer is beer to me and had my usual Hefe. The group split some fire sticks... um, YUM. Cheesy, spicy, delish. Did I mention they were GF? So good. Then my boyfriend and I split a half pepp&mushroom and half pineapple/mushroom. Loved it!! I'm not from Tacoma, but when I'm in town, I begging the boyfriend to take me back! YUMYUMYUM.
(5)Giovanna F.
Pet Peeve- soggy pizza when you boast of a wood fire oven. That's what we had. The not so "Perfect Pepperoni" pizza. A thin soggy greasy, cheese sliding off of the crust pizza. We were hungry though so of course we still ate it (hello, pizza lover). I'm just saying, this place did not meet my standards for thin crust wood fire pizza. The menu was extensive. They serve a variety of appetizers, calzones, salads, and pasta. The Red Hot dip has potential but needed more gooey cheese. The flat bread was inconsistent, half toasted half not. Pet Peeve #2 non crispy chicken wings! These were like Costco frozen and reheated in the microwave kind of wings. How hard is it to fry some wings? Overall, not coming back for a late night meal. Overpriced to boot. Wood fire oven fail. Tacoma fail.
(2)G R.
We had dinner here tonight. Our server Becca was very attentive and friendly. Our sodas were kept filled, and our plates were cleared as we were done. The food was brought to is in a timely manner, dinner was flavorful and at a perfect temperature.
(4)Jackie G.
Overpriced for sure however happy hour pricing is good after 10pm if you stay up that late. It's a basic pizza definitely not worth what they're asking and the crust was too soft. There are many other pizza places to choose from in Tacoma and surrounding areas that would be better although the sauce and items put on tasted fresh doesn't make for a great pizzaria. It didn't have enough much taste..matter of fact it was quite bland. The establishment is clean. Ambiance is what you would expect from a pizza joint, and the server was very nice. If you check in on FB, they give you free breadsticks that look like a whole other cheese pizza if you want to consider that a bonus valued at $6.99. Of course I took advantage since they didn't have a deal with YELP. The drink I ordered was ok. It looked better than it tasted and seemed at first to lack alcohol. Don't let sweetness of a drink fool you here. The liquor hit me rather delayed and my tipsy was on. I don't think I have a reason to go back for pizza....drinks..maybe!
(2)Megan G.
Went here with a friend and we had a great time! Our server was so nice and accommodating to our indecision about what we wanted. He helped us split the pizza into not 2, but 3 ways! We were definitely impressed with the service and food. Will definitely be back!
(5)Rob P.
Very good pizza and drinks. I especially enjoy the F-Bomb drink! The bar is a very welcoming place and we always have a great time.
(4)Fonda P.
I eat lunch here a lot since I started working in the area. They get the food out quickly (which is great for my half hour lunch!) and everything I have had has been top notch! My favorite thing on the menu is the gorgonzola tomato soup. Two of my favorite things, together! The staff are really friendly and approachable. I had an issue that I didn't even contact management about. She approached me and gave me a promotional card and a wonderful smile and addressed my concern. It made me feel valued and heard. I would recommend this place to anyone!
(5)Mike M.
Good food and good service. A great place for lunch. We had the calzones on this visit. They were hot and fresh at the table with quality ingredients. The table next to us had kids and the wait staff were very child friendly.
(4)Shellie T.
Chicken Cordon Blue! Its the BEST pizza there! Family style salad and you are set! Great place for the family, after a sporting event, or even as a casual meal before heading home after work....Great place!
(4)Meaghan B.
No more blue cheese pizza sauce, but that's fine, every place should revamp the menu once in a while. There's a decent selection of things for you to choose for your pizza, especially if you're gluten-free or allergic to tomatoes. The oven is shared, so if you're celiac or very, very sensitive, you still might want to give the gluten-free a pass. If you have kids, this place is great. They have dough for the kids to play with, will let them put the toppings on their own pizza before it goes in the oven, and the kids meals are really well priced. They have daily specials - some for happy hour all day, some for X dollars off if you're military, one night is gluten-free special, one night is a kids-eat-free (I always avoid those, it's usually a madhouse, I'll pay the $7 for the peace.) I usually go during off-peak hours (so my kid doesn't bother others and so that it's not super busy, making my kid cranky) and service is fast and friendly. A reasonably priced, kid-friendly option - sometimes exactly what you need.
(3)Dean R.
Craptacular pizza. And when it comes to pizza places, nothing else matters. Soggy crust, flavorless sauce and that's that. The ambiance is ok. Good for sports, but a whole big screen in the bar is dedicated to the security camera. The bar is stocked with the biggest selection of crap rum I've ever seen. Hot bartender. Hood rat bus boy giving her lip about it more important for him to leave and get baby formula than do his job. Hey dumbass, you need to do your job to keep your job so you can buy formula. No need to ever go back.
(2)Dani W.
Best spot for food and drink on 6th ave. I've never had bad service or food here! Every staff member is friendly and helpful. The food from the appetizers, salad, pizza and pasta have been exceptional. The bartenders make amazing drinks and are so friendly! No better place to watch the game. If you're looking for a friendly neighborhood place with great food and service, I highly recommend Farrelli's on 6th ave!
(5)K A.
i'm really surprised that this place can have any positive reviews. granted, i've only been there once, but ... well, i guess that says a lot. a pizza place within walking distance of my house that i don't go to. i went there with four people, and no one wanted to take the leftover pizza home. i did, simply because it's pizza, and you take the leftovers home. i put it in the fridge for breakfast, but when i saw it the next day i just threw it out. i don't think i've ever done that before. not even with pizza hut when i was in college. this ain't good pizza.
(1)Ben S.
Overpriced pizza that is not very good. I am from the Northeast (NJ/NYC) so I am definitely pizza spoiled, but this place doesn't even come close. They have a good beer selection but overall it's never the place I want to go when we're looking to get dinner out. Unfortunately Farelli's is a "safe" choice, so groups of people we're with always want to go out there. Steer them somewhere else though - 6th Ave has many other better options!
(2)Nate F.
Most of my friends love this place but I just can't get into it. I can't speak to the drinks and everything else but all I know is the pizza simply isn't good to me period. Especially considering the fact that it's priced pretty high. There are a lot of other places I would choose to get pizza from when in Tacoma but maybe this is just a late night type of spot for when you're drunk on 6th Ave.
(2)Melissa S.
I kind of agree with K,C., the downtimes are the best. Night there is loud and in my opinion, you might as well go to a club for the prices your going to pay...however, with that said... I love this place for a quick meal and drink, to sit and talk with my dear, grown ups and stiff drinks, nice service. The bartender was putting these cool light pink drinks while we were there having a casual meal, I really wanted to know what they were so my honey went to ask..."Pink Starburst", yum, as we were getting ready to go the bartender came and slammed two "Pink Starburst"s on our table! Free, it was great and the drink was fantastic! Good call babe! And how cool, great service, great food, great hospitality, and great atmosphere. Although the prices may be a little high, its worth it and the food is certainly quality.

FBOMB DRINK!!!! all i have to say is 8-liquors in a big jug.... enough said! fbomb + suburbian drama = goodtimes LOL. one thing about being home for the holidays is that you are on NO reality time. Fbomb drink just kills the time when you and your HS friends fly in from wherever you live in the world and drink these monsterous drinks and .... instigate our friends' suburbian drama. "who cares, we don't live here anymore!" I guess its our yearly tradition :)

I am a tough cookie when it comes to pizza... My partner is not. We had driven by the place a week or so ago and decided to stop in prior to going to zoo lights. My wisdom for you on that is avoid zoo lights waste of time and money. Anyway... We accidentally arrived during happy hour and thought the choices for happy hour were extensive. We ordered a 12 inch half pepperoni/half cheese and a large pecan cranberry blue cheese salad. The salad was great and very filling... I would order it again... All of the salad descriptions sounded great. The pizza came to the table piping hot but lacking the cheese to dough ratio I appreciate. I can't stand it when you can see blobs of sauce through the scant clouds of cheese. I don't know if there is an extra cheese option. Our little guy loved playing with dough ball... Nice touch. There is free parking in a very small small ceilinged deck under the restaurant.

Wow! I am a huge fan! I had the Raspberry Spring Salad with the candied Pecans and an awesome Meat lovers pizza with HOMEMADE Meatballs. Wood fired and made from scratch deliciousness. This is not your typical pizza place. It blows away the other pizza places. Great quality and great atmosphere. We had 3 servers waiting on is. Sit in Morgans section. She's works really hard.
(5)Michael K.
First off - I live here. I don't frequent it, I don't prefer it... I'm here basically every day of my life, whether it be for an hour or two after work, or 9 hours on the weekend to watch football and play pool. I opted to stop checking in when I realized that people would either assume I was cheating/lying or just totally insane. The latter is probably true. Hold on tight, this is going to be a long one... The Staff - Even though I could, at this point, write a brief biography on pretty much everyone who works here, I'll simply say that I'm glad to have found my own personal Cheers' environment. Everyone is funny, everyone is friendly, and they put up with me so I feel that this all by itself earns the five stars. I especially appreciate the girls for accepting that I'm in love with all of them. The Pool Tables - They curve... Oh my god do they curve, but pool is free on Sundays and if you go enough, you get used to how you have to play certain shots. Plus, they are set up in such a way that even with a packed house, it's fairly easy to maintain a game without hitting a poor girls' drink right out of her hand with the cue, Jason... The Food (Sorry, I've tried it all) - To preface, the cooking staff is awesome and even though they are prepping food for the restaurant side while making food for the bar side, they are fast and skilled, and the only time I ever sent something back is because I was drunk and forgot I ordered it. Pizza - I'll just touch on my favorites - The Hot Mess (awesome name) is a super spicy and delicious pizza with spicy sausage and pepperoni, cashews, onions and hot sauce on a ranch base... Perfect for anyone who likes their food to make 'em sweat just a bit. My either favorite, which I believe is called the Great Greek or something Greek, has feta, artichoke, kalamata (sp) olives, onions, pepperocinis and some other stuff and is awesome as well. I really enjoy the crust on all of their pizzas, except for the gluten free one, because... uh... well anyways. Non-Happy Hour Appetizer Must Haves: Meatballs - which are delicious, huge, and served with an absurd amount of fresh foccacia bread. This in itself will fill you up completely and I would recommend only if you're drinking wine or light beer. Meatballs plus F-Bombs = disaster. Artichoke Dip - Enough cheese and artichoke and cream and fat and delicious and omfg to leave you flat on your back. Like the meatballs, the artichoke dip is served with fresh foccacia although it's so rich that I wouldn't hesitate to request tortilla chips instead. Firesticks - Like their fantastic breadsticks, the firesticks are basically a sauceless pizza with tons of melted cheese, but these guys are drizzled with hot sauce and can have jalapenos at your request. Yum! Happy Hour Appetizer Must Haves : Nachos - I talked about them in my review from forever ago... Ridiculous portion of chips with every topping you can handle. Better still, Farelli's is one of the few places that will leave you with a plate full of toppings, not empty chips, and you don't have to feel bad asking for a few more to finish the job. Breadsticks - As mentioned with the firesticks, this is pretty much the Farelli's signature app... a medium pizza with a thin italian base, tons of melted cheese, and cut into strips that have to be triple-dipped. For four dollars and fifty cents, you're in cheese heaven. Spicy Sausage Mac n Cheese - Indulgence... I'm not going to get into it. Imagine if Kraft macaroni and cheese had been invented by Paula Dean while she was taking steroids. Delicious. Terrifying. Foccacia Bites and Foccacia Poppers - Both are good, although I do not like cream cheese so they aren't my thing... However, from watching the way my friends wolf 'em down, they have to be doing something right... DO NOT ORDER THE GARLIC TWISTS =P Unless you are literally in the mood to eat a loaf of bread. They're not bad, just pointless. Get the breadsticks (the ones with cheese). New Pastas - Both lasagnas are huge and delicious, and from what the rest of the peeps have said, pretty much all of the pastas are spot on. These aren't healthy, light eating pastas, mind you... We're talking homestyle feel-good, epic amounts of meats and cheeses and sauce pastas that will leave you with a smile on your face and a little less room to drink. Calzones - Yummy ... pretty standard but definitely good. Tomato Gorgonzola Soup - Despite what a few people have said, this stuff is the bees knees. I could eat it every day without ever getting tired of it... It's just too freakin' yummy... Sandwiches: Roast Beef and Au Jus - Love the sandwich... not a huge fan of the Au Jus... get a cup of the Tomato Soup or some ranch to dip it in... Meatball - Same as the appetizer... delicious. BAHHH 5000 CHARACTER LIMIT! Good Game.
(5)DAVID L.
Items Ordered: - Breadstix - Gourmet 2-Topping Pizza - Flavored Ice Tea Everything was good. I liked the bread sticks, but I especially liked the marinara dipping sauce! Pizza was okay, I probably will try and get one of their specials then try and make my own. There was nothing unique about the pizza, just an all-around healthy pizza. I know pizza is not really that healthy, but Farrelli's did not butter coat the crust or mix a ton of sugar in there to make it taste sweet. It simply tasted like a good home made pizza. Definitely would go back.
(4)Julie S.
They have one of the best happy hour times: 2 to 6 pm and 9 pm to close everyday plus all day Sunday. They serve Mac and Jacks and have mini pizzas for happy hour. Perfect combination. We also enjoy the awesome rewards. They offer check in deals for Yelpers. We are also members of their members club which offers some fun deals. Today, we received a free appetizer for being a member for a year. I recommend the focaccia bites with ranch instead of vinaigrette. They offer gluten free and healthier options. The bar has a nice low key vibe with TVs and other entertainment. The down sides I've experienced so far was the prosciutto on the pizza left something to be desired and the calzone was too bready for my taste and I love bread. I'd recommend trying the meatballs, spicy sausage or even pepperoni instead, depending on your preference.
(4)Mrs. G.
This place is good for a laid back t-shirt and jeans date night. The pizza's ingredients taste fresh, not refrigerated. The dough is chewy and crispy at the same time. They don't skimp on the meat toppings, but I was hoping for a little more cheese. There is a fireplace and a few pool tables in the bar, so it's a perfect hangout.
(3)Mikal W.
I'll start off by saying they are a 4 1/2 stars for the pizza but a 3 1/2 for the other food. I love the pizza they have, great variety with great flavor. Now, with everything else they have, extremely bland!! So I got the grilled roast beef with caramelized onions, sauteed bell peppers with melty provolone cheese and a side of au jus. Sounds good? It does, but man it was HORRIBLE. The Au Jus tasted like bathwater and the veggies had NO flavor and it must have been government provolone cheese..YIKES. I needed one of the many good beers they had to help me get through it. That being said, if you want pizza than go here if you want something else than go somewhere else... Did I mention they have good pizza?
(3)Erik R.
One of my favorite pizza joints in town. Good appetizers as well. Parking can be a pain on a busy day.
(4)Darryl H.
Just went for lunch today and was immediately disappointed by the service the moment we walked in the door. The host was running was nowhere to be found for at least 5minutes and there was another group of 5 that had been waiting for another 5minutes already that had not yet been greeted by anyone. the servers on staff just looked over at everyone waiting to be seated like it was no big deal. The upsetting part about all of it is that they weren't even close to being somewhat busy, there were only 5-7 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. I've herd from many people that the calzone's were supposed to be delicious, i ordered one and was not pleased. the dough was not done all the way. Love the Farrelli's in Dupont though!
(1)James S.
I go back and forth on Farelli's. On the one hand, there are some gems to be found on the menu. The F-Bomb is great. A few of the pizzas are pretty solid in my book -- emphasizing a thin crust and less cheese than your standard offering from Little Caesar's. The wood fire is a nice touch for aesthetic reasons if nothing else. Generally speaking, if you like a particular combination of pizza toppings, they can make it for you, if it isn't already on the menu. If you're into it, they also have a bunch of white-sauce options (although it's not my cup of tea). On the other hand, everything is probably about $2 more than it should be, and I mean everything. The portions aren't exactly massive, and if you're having a meal, you'll probably be spending upwards of $10 on food alone, and probably around the same for a couple drinks. Some items -- like a few of the salads -- are weaker than others. Aside from that, Farrelli's comes down in the "not bad but not amazing" category for me. The beer selection on tap is passable, including offerings from a few regional brewers like Mac & Jacks, Full Sail, and GeorgeTown, but they seem to be aiming more for the typical bar-crawler, not the beer snob. All of that said, I've never had a server that wasn't polite and friendly. This is also true of DJ K-Pod, who runs a fantastic trivia game every Tuesday at 8PM. Everyone I've ever interacted with has been totally patient with me, no matter how absent-minded or drunk (or both) I'm feeling that night. Ultimately, it's that sense of hospitality and familiarity that keeps me coming back, even when I know I'm spending a bit more than I should be.
(4)Matt G.
I wish these guys weren't so expensive! Other than that great food and great people. The atmosphere is towards the younger generation side which is a great thing for me considering I'm in my 20s.
(3)Brittany C.
So I accidentally found out Farelli's and all of their locations now carry Daiya dairy free cheese and I totally screamed! Don't worry fellow vegans: their original crust and marinara sauce don't contain egg or dairy. I went for lunch and sat at the bar! Marissa the bartender helped and I allowed her to whip up this delicious watermelon vodka drink that is amazing! Marissa was super attentive and nice! I decided to try a 12 inch pizza with extra marinara (I love extra sauce, duh), mushrooms, black olives, CASHEWS (TRY IT!), and the Daiya mozzarella! Fantastic. Delicious. Flavorful. Thank you for offering a vegan cheese option and please put it on your menu! I'm trying to spread the news that you guys offer it now! I'll be back!
(5)Nicolas M.
I love this place! It never had a bad experience at any one of their locations. So I'll make this short THE ITALIA is the bomb dot com! Destroys everyone else around. Mmmmmmm...
(5)Alden C.
Pretty good food here! I have been here twice and had the Italian Trio sandwich which was wonderful! I was out with my coworkers to eat and so no drinky drinky. The second time I came here was with Steve and I got spaghetti and meatballs. Those were good too and we got beer this time. Of course it's beer! It's always beer! I felt a little misled in one regard. They have a Mac and Jack's poster up in the bar saying they proudly serve their beer which was their porter, the amber, the wheat beer and IPA. I just made the assumption they had all four on tap all of the time but they only had the amber and the porter. I would have hoped they would have had more of those on tap. The IPA and the wheat are Mac and Jack beer selections that are hard to find so it's a major treat when you do find it so that part was a disappointment.
(4)Zach T.
This place is a staple of the 6th ave bar scene! I've been a regular here for over 5 years, showing up most Tuesdays for trivia with DJ K-Pod (Team Troll represent!). I highly recommend Farrelli's trivia. K-Pod is a true homie and he works tirelessly to craft challenging trivia with new themes every week. There are drink "specials" in between the three trivia rounds. Sometimes they're great ($5 long islands), sometimes you get $4 fireball shots (I love fireball but seriously 4 bucks for special pricing?). Always great and attentive service. Beer selection is decent. Happy hour pizzas and the $5 breadsticks are a good deal. Some people complain about the pizza pricing...I don't know much abut that because trivia winners get gift cards, and I don't play to lose. This place has lots of TVs and some pool tables, if that's your thing. Ample parking. Note: if you park underground, there are video cameras that have a live feed into the dining area so try not to embarrass yourself.

Let me just start by saying that I've never had a bad pie from this establishment. The pizzas the die for and they have a good selection of beers. I've never sat in the restaurant always sit in the bar and service is always good. I'm trying my hardest to think of something that I don't like, and I don't even have a single complaint. I highly recommend the perfect pepperoni!!
(4)Annie V.
this place is reliably good for pizza. the service is back and fourth depending on the night. it's easy and quick but not really rushed. it's fine! a good place to go out to eat but nothing hugely special.
(4)Stephanie S.
Not a bad pizza place, but not my favorite. They have a variety of pizzas or other Italian food. Overall, good pizza. The beer selection is pretty general or you have the option of mixed drinks. The service was great, especially because we had a large group, the waitress was attentive. If on 6th ave, I would recommend a stop.

Taking our friend to the airport, wife and I decided to try this place out before we left. We walked in and were seated fairly quickly. The bar area has a couple of pool tables and numerous TVs showing various games. We ordered two pizzas, two appetizers and a couple of beers. Food took awhile to come out, which gave us time to nurse our beers. Everything tasted great, even though we only made a small dent in our friend's mostly veggie pizza. Overall, everything was going as planned for a pleasant dining evening. Then the check came. Again, we had two pizzas, two appetizers, a side salad and two beers. Our grand total was over $100. Keep in mind, this place is located next to a college campus. It was good, don't get me wrong, but you can get the same quality stuff you get here in other restaurants for less than $100. I'd like to visit here again, but the price makes me hesitant.
(3)Emily R.
Pretty much the same as the Parkland store... maybe a bit stronger drinks though. Their happy hour is pretty good. The atmosphere here is nothing unique. It's a fun college town place with good food and drink. I would suggest either the hypnotist or an fbomb. Fbombs taste like juice with around two shots in it. Mainly rum. Other than that all their snacks are tasty. The one great thing here is that their happy hour is everywhere and not just in the bar. It's great if you're meeting someone who isn't 21 and still want to be able to enjoy a great drink and snacks. Their pasta is okay. It's not particularly worth the cost so I would consider their pizza. It's not bad if you want it really bad but I would suggest going somewhere more pasta specific.
(4)Jeffrey F.
Wife liked the Jack and John, I had the perfect pepperoni, just ok. The signature breadsticks looked better than they tasted. But they werent bad.
(4)Carly C.
Always a fan! Come here for tasty pizza, cheese sticks, apps and good drinks. Not overly priced and the staff is always friendly. We came here a lot when I was in college and went back after our Homecoming Game- still just as pleased as before.
(4)Regina B.
Drove by this place several times and always wondered how it was! Finally stopped by and glad I did. The food was delicious. From the Cesar salad. Buffalo wings cooked to perfection and the pizza!!! Definitely coming back!!!
(5)Chris B.
Giving two stars because I remember still when the pizza was good. This location struggles with consistency which is a shame. I ordered a chicken bacon ranch and it appeared that the toppings were layered very lightly, couldn't tell if the ranch sauce was put on the pizza (tasted dry) and the onions were raw. The pizza was also not crisp. It's funny I was surprised when I first saw the pie come to my table and I asked the cook if I had the right order. He confirmed it was the chicken bacon ranch. The cook I talked to was a veteran there so not sure why he would give me a subpar pizza. All I am asking for is some pride in your work. Don't give your customer something that is not consistent with the recipe.
(2)Rene A.
While the pizza is not bad the wait is long, it seems as they are killing the pig to get the bacon and farming the wheat to make the flour for the dough. I have better pizza with better service for a lot less of a price. Btw the cake for the desert was a dry as the Sahara.
(3)David E.
This place is GREAT. I'm visiting from North Carolina with my Girlfriend and my Mother-In-Law suggested we stop and give it a try (After a fun-filled day in Downtown Seattle). We ordered the Cesar Salad, Buffalo Chicken Wings, and the Meateater's Pizza. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION! I will definitely be returning before I leave Tacoma!
(5)Rob T.
Drove to Tacoma and took the family out to pizza. I wasn't impressed with the flavor. The crust was nice and chewy but the rest was pretty mediocre. The sauce was plain and the toppings were nothing special. In addition, the crust on our pepperoni pizza was burned. We weren't impressed. Won't go again the next time we're in town.
(2)Elle G.
Great place with great food. Family friendly but also has a cool bar area for watching sports and having a cold beer. The pizza never disappoints and the staff is very attentive and personable.
(5)Jena L.
I should have posted this a while ago. HUGE improvement over the last year or more! The new (well probably not so new anymore!) manager is great. Service is at should be, and things are running so much smoother. Very happy with this place again, and love coming here. Great job on turning things around!
(4)Mark P.
I went to his restaurant with a friend for dinner and drinks last night. We had a great time. They have great pizza and ice cold beer ! Service was alittle slow but personable and friendly. I'll be going back real soon to try other dishes they serve.
(4)Leah F.
We have been here multiple times. Had some good and bad experiences (hair in food, fruit flies, bad service) but I wanted to take a moment and write this review due to the great service and experience we had last night. Typically I feel that the level of engagement and customer service needs to be heightened by those working, but Jeff was a great example of what I like to see. He was super attentive, ensured we had everything we needed. Kudos to him and management for heightening the level of professionalism in this business.

I was really torn between giving this place a 3 or a 4 but ultimately decided to go 4 as I can see myself coming back here pretty regularly. I decided to check this place out because I received a coupon for a free 2 topping pizza and hey who isn't down for some free food. I ordered a pizza with carmelized onions and italian sausage and split the mushroom appetizer with my friend who got the calzone. Food and Drinks: nothing amazing, in fact maybe a little below average considering how much they charge. The mushrooms were probably the best thing we oredered. The pizza was definitely your average pizza and my friend said his Calzone was nothing special. So for me the food would have to be 3 stars at best. They had a pretty decent selection of beers but again, the prices were a little high in my opinion. I'll probably be coming here for happy hour from now on. Ambiance: This is really what pushed my grade to 4 stars. I loved the setup inside. They had a wide variety of seating options from booths, large tables for big groups, the bar area, and even a long high table right in front of 5 flat screen TVs. Definitely a great place to come and catch a game. One thing I found interesting was that they had a large TV that was showing the security camera feed from the parking lots. The cameras switch when they detect motion so you can keep an eye out on your car while your inside. Haven't really seen that in a bar and it was definitely pretty cool. Their pool tables are LEGIT! They were very well maintained and at 75 cents a game, really no complaints. They are spaced just far enough away from each other so that you won't disturb the other table and the table and cues seemed to be fairly new. They also had this weird half shuffleboard game and some arcade games in the back of the restaurant as well. All in all a solid place to come hang out with friends. My only gripe is that it's a little expensive for the quality of the food, but they make up for it in classiness and cleanliness.
(4)Madison C.
Typical bad chain-restaurant style food and bad service to top it off. Ordered the crab and artichoke dip to start. It was so filled with onions that onions was all you could taste. My husband agreed so we mentioned it to our waitress. She still charged us for it. I guess i could have been more pushy but it's not my style. Paying $12 for cheesy onion dip left me leaving grumpy and unsatisfied. The southwest chicken salad and calzone were flavorless. Would never go back!

Aside from the pizza, I am usually found ordering Farrelli's "Phil's Creation" salad. I'm trying to be healthy, but let's go ahead and put it out there -- there's nothing low-fat about this salad. It's gluttonous, hearty, delicious, and decadent. I feel as though I might as well have had that pizza the rest of my family was eating. A crisp iceberg/romaine lettuce combination tossed in creamy and sweet honey mustard dressing hid beneath a fortune of texture and goodies. Pineapple, caramelized onions, crushed cashews, roasted chicken breast, and cheddar cheese piled charitably atop the lettuce mix -- and it was at that point I figured it simply couldn't get any better. I was wrong. With a delicious drizzle of hot bacon dressing, it did nothing but get better -- WAY better. Oh, did I mention the hot bacon dressing? I know what you're thinking. The trendy, over-marketed love for bacon is so passé, right? Honestly, I could give a crap. (Are we allowed to use swear words on Yelp? Just wondering.) I don't care, I still love the salty goodness those strips of fried-up pork belly can do for my faded taste buds. With a complex tongue lashing of sweet pineapple, caramelized onions, soft cheddar cheese, and delicious cashews, there isn't anything I don't like in this salad bowl. Seriously, folks, who doesn't love the taste of cashews -- those sweet, crunchy legumes disguised as nuts?
(3)Ann L.
Pizza was good, breadsticks are dangerously good, and bartender was friendly. Had a bit of a mix-up with our order, but the staff was apologetic and quick to correct the mistake - which is really the best service that can be asked for.
(4)Need A D.
Went today for the first time and will be the last time. Waitress was nothing but a waitress. By the time we got our refills we were done with our food. After our food we ordered a sundae & got 2 scoops of ice cream in their stale waffle cone. She never offered to correct our order either. If u like good service, I'm not recommending to go here. She forgot about us so I had to go ask for our bill and pay for it to get out of there. Lesson for the day....sometimes little whole in the wall resturaunts offer better food and service :)

What started out as really good pizza (not great) in the area has quickly gone downhill. There are two reasons: quality has gone down and they raised their prices an average of $2 on every item in the last year. Not a good combination. My family was regularly getting take out from Farrelli's 2or 3 years ago. The meatball pizza (16" - $24!) was a favorite of the kids and they had enough interesting ingredients (+ salads) to make it worthwhile for the adults. Then the kids got really meh about the pizza - and when a 12" cheese is $13 - I need more than meh! I could go on, but it would only be to complain the sauce is now bland, their pick-up times are frequently 15 minutes off, etc...but I feel I've whined enough. My recommendation: go to PSP instead.
(2)Kat B.
This location: sorry, I won't go back. Inconsistent food, horrible service (had to complain twice, manager didn't do anything, had to take it up a level), crowded in the bar area to the point that people are standing literally a centimeter from your table. The "regulars" are touchy-feely (really) and obnoxious, and the bartenders really won't care about you unless you're buddies. The fire stix and bread stix are decent, but the service and environment is really not worth it. I had one of my pizzas ordered here come out right, which is sad since I've been there several times due to friends living close. If you like Farrelli's food, go to the one in Parkland, at least you have a 50/50 chance of it being a pleasant experience.

I usually come for lunch with co-workers and it's always okay. Good - not great, but not bad. Their tomato gorgonzola soup is awesome and the lunch menu is a good price, so that's why we keep going back. This past week, my dad and I met at Farelli's for lunch and it was the worst experience I've had there. There weren't many occupied tables in the dining room, about 6-7 with multiple servers. We were told to wait and then she changed her mind and told us to seat ourselves. The girl who told us to sit down was our server and it took her a good 5 minutes to come to the table, greet us and give us menus. She didn't even get us water until we requested it. She was slow getting our order (soup and salad for my dad, a sandwich for me) and from the time she finally took it to when it arrived on our table (not all at once, mind you), it was 35 minutes. The table next to us not only got their order taken first, but got their food quickly, and it was a pizza which should take longer! When the food finally came, there was a film on top of the soup and the salad wasn't ready to be brought out. The food was fine, but it just seemed ridiculous that from the time we walked in and got our food on a Tuesday afternoon during a not even busy lunch hour for the restaurant took over 50 minutes! We should have been in and out in 45 minutes maximum. I understand that food taking a long time is not the server's fault, but stems from the kitchen, so we did not take our frustrations out on the service through a reduced tip. If there are delays in the kitchen, though, the server should come to the table, explain, and be apologetic. Having worked previously as a server, I might be critical, but acknowledging customers is one of the pillars of service. We won't be coming back anytime soon.

I attended their Pizza School. It was very informative and gave me even more respect for the quality of their ingredients, especially the cheese. It was an entertaining and delicious couple of hours from appetizers to dessert. We even had the opportunity to create our own pizza exactly how we liked it. I've made pizza at home before, but nothing I make could top the pizza they finished in their wood fire oven. We had excellent beverage service. The employees there are great! Our instructor had a lot of charisma and made the evening fun! We had eaten there before and enjoyed it, but the pizza school renewed our interest in this restaurant. This is an excellent place to take your family and eat salad and pizza family style.

Farelli's is really hit or miss. It's generally a hit though. I have had some incredible nights here that have been fueled by the fun bar staff. I have also had some unreasonably slow lunches while being ignored by the midday staff. Either way, their happy hour is pretty excellent. It used to be better (read: cheaper) but it's still hard to beat 4.50 for a medium pizza sized order of cheesy garlic bread with dipping sauces. The happy hour drinks are some of the cheapest in the area, and with a couple of cocktails on the menu, the happy hour is what makes this place shine. Their pizza is pretty good but I wouldn't say it's anything mind blowing. Most of the time, I really like their crust but I feel that it can be a little inconsistent. Personally, I have had better pizzas from Garlic Jim's and paid less. But I've also had some great sandwiches and salads from Farelli's. 75% of the time: 4-4.5 stars 25% of the time: 2-3 stars
(3)Marimo A.
Pros - pretty nice crust, server pulled a chair to create space for a stroller Cons - hot wings too fatty, quality of pizza not consistent I used to be a fan of this place when they opened some years ago. But it kind of went down hill quality wise. I recently went back and had a so-so experience...
(3)Rebecca H.
We have always been curious about this place! We were served burnt lasagna, we sent it back and then we got super dry lasagna but if you added marinara sauce it was okay. White sauce Chicken Pizza Good. Waitress Excellent. Will we return- NO
(2)Rene K.
The service here was ok. Our server was nice and all but he seemed very confused at times. Our appetizer came out about two minutes before our pizza did. They forgot to put the tomatoes on my pizza so, when they took it back to fix it they threw cold tomatoes on it. Not what I had wanted and had I know that I would have asked them to just take the cost of the extra topping off my check. The kicker was the very rude server serving the table next to us. When our pizza came she tried to take our appetizer away. Looking at it you could see we had just started to eat it. Even more annoying was when she came back a few minutes later and just stuck her hand into the middle of the table grabbed the appetizer plate and rudely said "Now can I take it?" and walked away with our appetizer. There was still cheese bread we were trying to eat. She grabbed it so quickly that neither of us had time to say no (since our mouths were full). Needless to say we will not be going back here.
(1)Bonnie R.
This place is great! My husband and I come to the bar for the awesome happy hour and pool tables when we get a night away from the kids. The bar staff is really fun. It's also a great place to take our kids, especially for kids free Mondays or the balloon guy on Thursday night. The pizza is second to none!
(5)Tee D.
Easily a four star. The service time and quality has always been reasonable, even the last visit. We enjoyed our pizza, our waiter and even our bill! yes the bill too can be enjoyable considering the cost for a whole pizza, appatizer, drinks, desert and friendly service :D
(4)Nick L.
I really enjoy coming to Farrelli's. Pizza, calzones, salad, great beer, stocked bar and friendly staff. Big fan of their signature drinks and drink specials. Trivia, in the bar on Tuesday's at 9pm, is always a good time. A great place for revelry.
(4)Bruce F.
If you don't mind spending about twice as much for your pizza as any place else this will fit the bill! My last order was pretty disappointing.
(2)Calvin M.
It's like eating at the Rock. Nothing special. Here's what we had: Pizza ($15)- This is normally $25, but we got a military discount. O.K. deal for $15. Totally not worth it for $25. Meat Calzone ($11)- This was actually very good. But the portion was a bit on the small side. The meal came with a small iceberg salad. It's an o.k. place to eat. I'd eat here again if my friends want to come here. Otherwise, probably not.
(3)Michael B.
Pretty good pizza, DEFINITELY way overpriced and a pretty cool place to go for a little night life. also have some pretty good happy hour specials. I think that about sums it all up.
(3)Diego S.
Farelli's focaccia poppers... wow spicy, sweet.. Spicy sausage mac & cheese
(4)Grindy S.
Along with Steph's, one of the few places in Tacoma to score a good pie.
(3)Jill E.
we're always looking for new pizza places so friends recommended this one. It was ok, but not wonderful. the service was very slow and the servers seemed totally confused. i ordered a glass of white wine, they brought red. I said it was supposed to be white and not 5 minutes later I got the same glass of red wine back. while I like the thin crust pizza, when we went it wasn't crisp but sort of limp. Also thought it was sort of expensive for what you got.
(3)Jenny K.
I used to come here often when I lived near it. Now that I've moved, it's not a place that ever crosses my mind. The food is average and the drinks are slightly above average. The happy hour menu offers great prices but you get what you pay for e.g. nachos with few toppings - same goes for the pizzas.
(3)Windi L.
It's more like 2.5 stars. Since I now live in the DC area, I miss having those pizza places around every corner as Washington seemed to have. Unfortunately while the taste of pizzas is good, their service has SUCKED SUCKED SUCKED every single time. The staff they hire are like hooter's girls with small hooters designed to hit on the customers and neglect the ones with jobs who will actually tip 20%. I really love their salads and think the variety of pizza they offer is nifty but at what cost. How can you enjoy a meal when you're pissed off that your water glass is empty, drinks aren't done well, service slow. I went their multiple times because the food is decent but come on! Fix your wait staff! I really did struggle between my 2-3 star rating because the food is actually pretty good For the time and aggrevation, you're better off going to Safeway, getting a frozen pizza. Less taste but at least you're happy
(2)LisaLisa F.
The pizza is awesome and the stuffed mushrooms always get fought over. The bad part? This place is friggin expensive...for pizza. but it is so friggin good
(4)Tyson M.
Great place for beer and pool. They have several locations. The place has two sides, one for families and one for bar crawling. I have yet to really experience the "family side" as I am a bar kind of person. They have 2 pool tables and plenty of televisions to watch various sports broadcasts. I recommend the cheese sticks, you can not go wrong with this menu item. After 9pm is Happy Hour (awesome) and most food becomes pretty cheap and made for an individual. They have various drink specials through out the week. My one complaint is not with this location but the one off Pacific as they tend to be slow to make your order when you come in for lunch. So plan to stay for some time if you order any food.
(5)Justin D.
The pizza is decent but it isn't worth the price. The pizza we got tonight was $26 and had very little in the way of toppings on it. We had to dig around before we could even tell there were mushrooms on it. You could spend the same amount of money at several other pizza places in Tacoma and get a much better pizza.
(3)Jordan B.
I heard that the owner changed his name from Farrell to Farrelli's to make it sound more authentic. I think that sums up Farrelli's: on one hand, it's a bar and pizza parlor with pool and ESPN. On the other, their pizza is fairly expensive and yuppie. The pizza is good, I'll give it that. But the wait staff is amateur. And some of the other food on the menu is subpar. The one thing I will recommend is their happy hour. I don't remember what time it begins, but it's basically the entire night. Their drinks are super cheap, and they've got some great food (including a pizza) that's a fraction of the price. I wouldn't go there for any other reason.
(3)Kristy P.
This is one of the first restaurants that I tried after moving to Tacoma. I loved it from the moment I walked in the door. They have great service and DELICIOUS pizza and breadsticks! I'd recommend this place to any pizzalover!
(4)Narnia P.
I ordered the "Meateater Pizza" with whole wheat dough to-go. The pizza itself was delicious, and my husband and I ended up eating the whole thing within 12 hours, some for lunch, some for dinner, and a little bit more as a late night post-concert snack.
(4)Emily N.
Had lunch here the other day and was pleasantly surprised. I had the club which was really good and HUGE. My boyfriend is a bit of a pizza snob, and even he really liked the traditional style pizza he ordered. We came at an off time for lunch, but our waitress was nice and gracious about his crazy modifications for the pizza he wanted. The best part of the experience was finding a pizza place he's willing to come back to in Tacoma!
(4)Meredith S.
I ate at this place once and the pizza was great! It was a nice environment, the service was friendly, and affordable! There was a nice little fireplace too which was cute. We came here and it was nearly empty, not really sure why. They have pool tables in the bar, too.
(4)Jenni C.
Like most reviews - the pizza is okay. Sometimes better than okay, sometimes just okay. I've always had better luck with take-out than dine in, oddly enough. The one time I ordered the tomato soup (a creamy, heavy, bisque type concoction) the server mentioned it might be a little cold - it was. She offered to reheat it - and it still came back lukewarm. That's what you'll get here. The soup was good, I'm sure it would have been delicious hot. In the bar, one of the waitresses is AWFUL. One is pretty great - you take your chances. For your best bet, come at happy hour, grab a beer, avoid the families and students in the bar and watch the game.
(3)cristian c.
Foods OK. Service is awful. If you like bros/are a bro this is the bar for you! If its not bro enough hit up o'malleys
(3)Myles D.
The pizzas were cooked perfectly; just enough to be a little crispy but not too much. The crab dip was served piping hot and with a lot of crab. If you go on a Monday you can get a tower of beer (two pitchers worth) at a great price of $18. There are plenty of HD TVs in the bar for you viewing pleasure.
(4)Andy L.
Farelli's sucks. Its fun to hang out in maybe, but food is really low quality and pretty expensive for how bad it is. It's like a divey bar with a classy tavern/restaurant mask on.
(1)Stephanie K.
I've been here on several occasions, never my idea... but hey, I'll go with group's choice. :) I think we've tried tons of the appetizers. Happy Hour is decent and it's a good spot for a group. Aside from that, it's not my first choice for pizza at all! I'd rather have Papa John's than this place. If you want GREAT pizza, go to The Rock or Puget Sound Pizza FOR SURE!! :) Plus, I think the parking for here stinks.
(2)Valerie D.
Pretty good pizza and a fun place to be if you don't mind a crowd and a little noise. The service is generally good, the only problem being that the place is often so full that the wait staff is very busy and service may take a little while. However, they are very friendly and get the job done. Certainly not the best pizza I've ever had but good - a big step above Round Table or Domino's, anyway, with lots of options. Also, at night their drinks are really cheap which is always a plus. A good place to go with friends when you're looking for a place with a lot of life.
(4)calvin c.
not really a fan. we've been a few times, and each time i forget that i didn't like the pizza or the ambience. the pizza has been a little soggy and undercooked. the place is kind of a 20s-something meat market / sportsbar for aging fratboys and girls that are into that scene. i guess it'd be great if that's your scene.
(2)Ted P.
meh. slow service (in an empty restaurant when staff were commenting about *how many* staff were in that day), staff are more interested in being buddy buddy with one another than helping customers. the food's fine. not great. were it more inspired so would be this review.
(2)Randy H.
So, i stopped by this 'wonderful" place today to kill my hunger for some brick oven pizza. wut the hell was iiii thinking! okay, it sucks that i came from the wonderful nj/nyc area where they serve some of the best brick oven pizza because i cannot help but to compare it to Farelli's. My friends, this is not brick oven pizza! its equivalent to Papa Johns with a little more "class" to it. The service was not rude, but extremely SLOW. The table next to me had received their salads without any silverware on the table! I could hear the young woman sitting there trying not to be rude about getting sum silverware for her salad. Thats pretty bad. Anyway, I ordered the bread sticks half order as an appetizer and it came out 30 minutes later. and NO, i am not exaggerating. It's an appetizer people, NOT THE MAIN COURSE. Honestly, I hate being mean about my reviews, but places like this shouldn't get credit for what they don't deserve. You should be sorry Farrelli's, you really let me down.
(2)tafkam c.
you gotta get the lunch special - salad and 6" 2-topping pizza for $7.99 but you have to get there by 4:00 or 4:30. comes out real fast and very tasty. server was not the most attentive but no biggie. best pizza in town!
(5)Adam V.
great artichoke dip, awesome pizza, lots of beer on tap, and a good variety on the menu.
