Love the location and how it's within the landing. You can run errands and grab a bite here. This restaurant is clean and gives a Spanish ambiance. Went on a pretty busy day 7/20/14 on a Sunday in the evening. Seated upon and arrival. The waiter/waitress were quick and accurate. Glasses were refilled periodically and waiter made sure that we were okay. Chips, salsa & refined beans are complimentary. Brought to table after being seated. I ordered the tacos Rancheros, while my friend ordered the carne asada. My order came with Spanish rice, refried beans and guacamole. Perfect size meal to fill an empty stomach. The meal was delicious and the presentation of the plate was impressive! Only down side was some of the questions or remarks the waiter said to us during our meal that caught us off guard. They pertained to why we were in a hurry and the amount we have eaten. Overall great staff, quick, and the food is delicious! I will sure be back more than a couple of times!

I love this place- yummy tortillas, great food, nice people. I've been coming to Toreros for the last 10+ years and it's still one of my favorites!! We don't live that close anymore but we still come here when we get tired of all the "fancy" ie expensive Mexican restaurants in Seattle. Tacos al Carbon (steak) and the fajitas are my go to dishes and they never disappoint!

The BEST home made tortillas ever! I ordered Camarones Mexicanos. I asked the server for any hot sauce he had. He first brought me tapatio, tobasco, and chalula. I was happy enough with those. Then, he came out with a small bowl of homemade hot sauce from the kitchen. SO GOOD! Great spice, great flavor. I was extremely pleased that he took an extra step to get me delicious hot sauce, not from a bottle. Their beans they bring out with the chips and salsa are delicious too. Our meals were great, and so was the service. It was busy, but we never felt ignored, and my iced tea was never left empty. The Landing is not in my usual area, but anytime i'm up there, I will definitely return.

I have been here a couple times and service is always excellent, very fast and friendly. Food is delicious all the time, if you eat here and don't try the homemade tortillas you are missing out:)

Okay, now I have been to Toreros many times, but this last time, I order the camarones y carne asada. The prawns were large, well seasoned, and cooked just right. The carne asada was HUGE, I couldnt finish it.. Our waiter recommended the house-made fresh flour tortillas and they were soo good, I could have eaten them all by themselves!! Our waiter was very kind and checked on us often. The new place is great! Can't wait to go back!

This is the Mexican restaurant all the others want to be. Yes, once in awhile you get a new server who they are trying to train to think like Torero's instead of the last place they worked and this can be frustrating. But when looking at the whole picture you get fresh food with wonderful flavor and mostly friendly helpful service. Best Nachos hands down!! Get them on the Happy Hour, what a deal! I love the perfectly melted cheese and the way they somehow manage to get everything layered in perfect proportions. The Puerto Vallarta Margarita is so good that we no longer enjoy margaritas elsewhere. And you can't find a cleaner Mexican restaurant in WA,OR,CA or ID. I know!! Try the Pollo Asada and you'll be amazed at the flavor and portion for your dollar spent.

This was nothing special and still have sticker shock from our total. $76 for two people, one had 2 margaritas ($12.50 each??) and the other 1 Michelada. No appetizers at all. It would be nice to have prices next to drinks. Waiter saw hostess seat us and she'd barely walked away and he's attempting to take our orders. One other thing I noticed but not many people comment about the food so much? It was average and can think of a few better Mexican places within 1-3 miles. Space was nice and light and open and employees were nice.

WOW is all I have to say. AS soon as we sit someone hits us up for drinks and then BOOM chips and salsa. Then our waiter take our order and then someone refills our chips. They move like a machine. The restaurant is super roomy and great decor. They even have a patio thes pretty cool. The Landing is a pretty nice neighborhood. Great place to eat before a movie.

I went during happy hour and had the super nachos happy hour special in the bar. The food was halfway decent but really lacked flavor. The nachos needed a ton of salt and salsa on them. The service was okay for eating in the bar. But here's where things went bad. I witnessed the barmaid dumping the used chips back into the chip bin sure this happens all the time at Mexican food restaurants but I really don't want to see it. This is why I always make sure my never go back and same with the salsa I always dumped the remaining sauce on top of the chips so they will have to be thrown away I hope other people catch on to this and do the same.

Last night went in for the happy hour and the server was very nice I would say she would of been quicker if she didn't have the whole bar to cover. The food was great I really love the pork tacos. I think i have no problem going back her again I want to try the shrimp next time

The service is terrible! I sat in the bat. Multiple people walked right on passed me without helping me. Finally a bartender approached me (10 minutes) to take my drink order. It took her those 10 minutes to get to me because she was setting up a place setting on the table directly behind me. That table 30 minutes later still doesn't have a guest at it and she didn't set any other table than that one. Makes no sense. I've had to flag the staff down to get my bill, then again to run my credit card. I asked for the manager just to give feedback and I had to ask three times (2 separate people). They barely had any customers when I was here. There were several servers just chit chatting. NO SENSE OF URGENCY. 100% DISAPPOINTED!

I had the chipotle chicken dish. It was great, very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The homemade flour tortillas were excellent.

Almost 30 years ago I took my daughter to Torero's original restaurant in downtown Renton. She was about 4 years old and accidentally spilled her drink on the table. Within seconds two waiters had wiped up the spill with reassuring words to my daughter and gave her a fresh drink. They did not charge me for the extra drink. We have gone back many times over the years and the new place is a bit antiseptic but nice. The food was very good especially the fresh tortillas and the service was excellent. But after we left we were about two blocks from the restaurant when I heard someone yelling. Our waiter tracked us down as I had forgotten my credit card. Big smile although a bit winded from his run. Torero's made a customer for life back in 1985. They just reinforced it tonight. Hope they get the glitches worked out in the new space because they have always had an attitude of high quality in service and food.

After months of missing our favorite Mexican restaurant... we decided to give the new Torero's location another shot. We are SO glad we did. Everything was back to the way it used to be. The food tasted exactly as delicious as we remembered from before the move. Man, I had been missing those fresh made tortillas! So delicious. Mmmmmm the salsa too. Torero's is back! I would recommend trying it again to anyone who, like me, didn't think the quality of food and service survived the location change.

Everyone was very friendly. Margaritas were delicious. Great about keeping your water full. Food was very good. My only complaint is that it's seems they try to rush you to order. I like to sit and enjoy my drink for a bit before ordering my meal and I was asked if they could take my order about 5 times. I think they are busy and try to get people in and out. Once I told the server that I'd let her know when we were ready to order, she didn't bother us again.

The place is pretty big for a mexican restaurant, also a little noisy, but the food and great service is soooo worth it! Our waiter never left our drinks get low and checked in plenty. We ordered enchiladas verdes and an expresso burrito and both were fantastic! Our new favorite mexican place to grab some good food!

Always hard to find parking! But that's because this place rocks!!! Good food! Loud room. Sports bar. Close to the movie theater. Tacos al carbon.

    (4)
  • Bill B.

How disappointing! We used to go to the location in Factoria often and both the tacos al pastor and al carbon were my favorites. I was hoping for the same. The service at the Landing was good as were the margaritas. Then the decline began .. Tacos al pastor are supposed to be made with BBQ pork, or at least char grilled. Ground pork with hot sauce is not the same as BBQ pork! The fish tacos had deep fried fish. Ivar's in a tortilla! Wait, that's an insult to Ivar's. The flan was scorched. I hope they improve.

Great atmosphere, fresh food, and really friendly and attentive staff. Very good location as well. This place has one of the best wet burritos I've ever had, even the pico tasted like it had just been made. I will definitely be coming back.

If all I ate for the rest of my life, was the Sopa de Tortilla I would die a happy lady! My husband and I adore this restaurant! Good food, good service, good drinks!! Simply the best, hands down!

When this location was at the Fred Meyer center on Rainier we were there at least once a week. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fitting for a Mexican restaurant. The staff was friendly and knew us when we walked in. Definite 5star then. Since moving to the Landing the quality of their food has dropped significantly along with the quantity and the price rose on top of that. The flavor isn't the same, the tortillas (although house made) were not fresh and the ambiance lacks style (unless in the booths). As a couple we were sat in the open area which resembles a cafeteria. Definitely NOT a place to sit a table for two. We've given it five chances at different times of days and different days of the week and still the food comes out as if it was sitting under a lamp for days. C'mon Torero's...what happened? Time to look for another spot.

I think I've been spoiled by living in California and Arizona. Mexican food is abundant and flavorful. This is the third Mexican restaurant I've tried here in Seattle and I think I'm asking for the moon and the stars when I should be happy with the clouds. It's not necessarily lowering my standards, but I think it's a different set of 'good' I need to get used to. For me, this is not my standard of good. I see that this particular establishment gets high rankings, but the best thing about this place is the ease of parking thanks to a huge lot, the friendliness of the servers and the amount of food that was given. My first inclination was to give this place 2 stars, but that's harsh because it's not a 2 star establishment, nor is it 2 star food. Admittedly, this is not the BEST mexican food, but it's not the worst, either. I ordered a fajita burrito with carne asada - carne asada was overly salty and overly cooked. The pieces that weren't burnt to a crisp was actually nice and chewy - it was enjoyable. Inside the burrito was packed to the gills with rice and whole pinto beans. I like whole beans. They're good. On occasion, I'll totally crave refried beans and rice, but this did just fine. Their guacamole is definitely better than some of the other establishments I've tried, but the serving was so small I was saddened. I think I need to find out what their specialties are and then go with those. I'll come back, but not with hubby in tow. He was particularly disappointed in the food.

  • Joann V.

I was going to give this place 3 stars, but i thought the service deserved an extra star :). I had the camarones apretalados, which was bacon wrapped prawn covered with jack cheese served with a sides of rice and beans. I liked it. The portions are huge too. But it is an americanized menu... Overall the servers are friendly and the ambiance is nice. There's outdoor seating for nicer days and lots of free parking. I would definitely come here again.

  • Ryan S.

This place is great... The food is excellent and the service staff were some of the best I've experienced. I ordered the enchiladas and my wife ordered the something with shrimp (can't remember the exact name of it). But it tasted great. Food came out hot within about 10 minutes of us placing the order. Highly recommended..

  • Tiffany F.

I kid you not, this place (in the entire year I've gone here) has yet to get my order correct the first time.... And it truly is not that difficult. Expressing burrito- chicken, no rice, cheese inside, no red sauce. How do you come from the kitchen all the way to my table with my burrito slaughtered in red sauce and "not realize"?!?!? They also change the price of drinks by the minute.... Somehow I had a happy hour drink at 627, but at 648 it not longer was at HH price!! It has taken up to 4 attempts to get my order right and never once have they gotten it correct the first time.... If this wasn't the only place in Renton that served refried beans, I would NEVER come here! Always a disappointment!!

I've been a Torero's customer for years. Have met at this location several times for dinner/drinks with the girls and it's always a great experience. We've eaten in both the bar and restaurant. Waitstaff is fast and friendly. Everything is always very clean. Large selection of food/drinks at very reasonable prices. Food is always fresh and nicely prepared. The bar is great; especially if you want to watch a game. Always seems to be a nice mix of people. The restaurant is great if you want a bit more intimate setting; really nice lighting and I've never felt hurried. We always feel welcome to sit and chat over coffees after our meal. The surrounding area has lots of great shops. Parking is great; on street parking is always available or the parking garage is free. Both the parking garage and surrounding area are very well lit and I've always felt comfortable even when alone. All shops (great movie theater too) are within walking distance so bring an umbrella and don't be discouraged by rainy weather.

I thought the food was ok. But nothing great. Kinda pricy in my opinion for the small portions at least in the chicken wings. You can be the judge. My meal was good. Good flavor. Service was good. Very attentive. Probably won't come back cause I don't feel like shelling out 30-35 dollars for two just for lunch.

Love coming here. My wife and I have been going for several years, and the move to the Landing has proven a good one. It's closer for us and the only downside is not any parking directly near the place, but lets face it, after eating here we could probably stand to go for a walk and burn off some of the food. Our favorite dish is the pork carnitas, and they are delicious! We've tried a few of the other locations, but this one seems to be the best. That's why we keep coming back. The owner is frequently there to greet patrons and ask how things were and if you have a gripe or want to make a suggestion, he's willing to listen and at least for our part, we've seen changes as a result. Sometimes you can find coupons in Valpak, but even without, this is a great place for dinner. We'll defiately be back.

I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, but Terero's definitely has some delicious food. I've been here a few times now and the service is great! They keep the chips and salsa coming like there's no tomorrow! Our last visit, I got the chile colorado and my boyfriend got the carne asada. Both SO good! I'd choose Torero's over Azteca any day!

OMG love the carne asada tacos they have gotten it right everytime i go and i have yet to order something else, well because they are done right..mmmm love this place. i usually just go for the 3 carne tacos without beans and rice, so if you haven't gone yet go! i'm a cali grown girl and this place hits the spot, if you haven't had julianitos in kent area gotta try that one too, it's just like albertos in cali, burritos just carne and cilnatro etc.. delish

Amazing family restaurant. I have always been impressed with the service. Very warm and friendly staff. Their service is always top notch, always making sure I have enough in my glass and am enjoying my meal. And now the food, delicious and amazing. I love their fresh, in-restaurant made tortillas. So good!

Tried out the place after the moved from their Rainier location. The restaurant is soo much bigger and looks very much alive. Looks modern and yet you know you're in a Mexican restaurant. The staff is very friendly. Like any good restaurants, it can get loud and pretty busy. When I was sitting there, I saw a couple tables "forgotten" which is a shame. So you need to be pretty assertive to get your waiter's attention. Their Carne Asada was very good. I suggest you go early for dinner since it gets packed.

Received an email from Veronica M. (one of the owners). She was very pleasant to talk to and she listened to the whole story. She assured me that this kind of thing would not happen again to any one else. We like to support local businesses and will consider returning to Torero's sometime down the road. Thank you, Veronica, for your time and correcting this situation.

Came here with a group of girlfriends and really enjoyed the food and drinks! Waitress was very pleasant and helpful. I scale most Mexican by the carne asada plate and theirs was juicy and amazing. The margaritas were delicious and plentiful. Also loved he homemade tortillas. They tasted as authentic as the kind I had when I lived on the border. Wish I lives closer so I would go here more often.

Service was great; prompt, attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is a bit odd, like someone else mentioned it reminds me of a cafeteria more than anything else. The wide open area allows for a lot of noise. The food was good but not great; portions are generous but for some items the price didn't seem justified.

This place has a great selection of food. The margaritas are delicious but can catch up to you quickly if you aren't careful. The staff has been really sweet to us. And is great with groups and divvying up checks. This is a great place to go before a movie.

I've eaten at other Torero's locations many times, but this was my first time visiting the Landing location, and my first time trying out their happy hour. The service was quick and friendly enough. Since we ordered beers to drink, I can't speak to the mixed drinks. The beer was a reasonable and typical happy-hour price. What I was disappointed in was the lack of variety in the happy hour food menu. There just weren't many items to choose from that felt appetizer-ish, and there wasn't a single option on the happy hour menu for my vegetarian companion, other than getting the nachos without meat, which we did, and they were very good and very satisfying. One thing about Torero's is that the quality of their chips is exceptional, as are their homemade flour tortillas, which I have enjoyed during other visits there. If they added a little more variety to the happy hour menu, particularly finger foods and veggie-friendly dishes, it could be a really nice place to go for happy hour.

I was with a group of about 10 people in Renton on business and we came to Renton Landing for lunch. We had to park about a block away in the large parking lot. Our plan was to eat at Panera Bread, but we saw it was very busy and didn't have a table large enough for our group. We walked across to Torero's instead, and they were able to seat us all quickly, even with no advance notice. Very nice modern decor and comfortable seating. Quick, very professional service. The menu is typical for a nicer Mexican restaurant, but the food was exceptionally good. There was something for everyone - vegetarian, gluten free, etc. We all left very happy with our decision to eat at Toreros.

Very friendly staff and very accommodating. Decent drinks, awesome freshly made flour tortillas. Be careful on weekend evening as it is often packed and waiting 10-15 minutes for a table is common. I recommend the carne asada or the pork carnitas. The chicken tortilla soup is really good too however I would not recommend the fish tacos.

My GF & I split an order of chicken fajitas, flavor was excellent and portion was perfect for two light eaters. Our margaritas were tasty as well, dining outside on a hot summer night made for a perfect meal! Will definitely be going back!

Can't go wrong with the 2 ground beef enchiladas for $11.99 with rice and beans. Flavor explosion, just the kind of Mexican food fix I needed. Grew up going to this place every Sunday, now coming from west seattle because, to me, there is no other Mexican place as good as toreros!

This place isn't so bad, our bar drinks were not strong at all. But I LOVE THEIR FRESH flour tortilla machine thing! DELICIOUS! The atmosphere felt cold though, it wasnt really warm and inviting. I wish it was more Mexico-y. The ceiling is really high and everything looked like a factory ish, food was not bad I dont remember what I ordered because its been a while but it was good and I would try this place again, it was definitely a good experience, I just remember i love their fresh flour tortillas. LOL I will update when I remember or when I come in again

Okay I am going to revise my review based on the fact that I think I have been unfairly holding this restaurant up to a standard that is unreasonable for this area. I'm from Northern California where I've eaten at some fantastic taquerias in Silicon Valley. I've lived in Arizona for the last 7 years where ive had the opportunity to eat some fantastic Mexican food. So when I go to a Mexican place I'm expecting it to be excellent, but when eating here I forgot that this is not California or Arizona and the market here simply doesn't want the kind of food that I want. This restaurant is doing its best to meet the desires of the community here, so I want to revise my review. Tonight I spoke personally with the owner who wouldn't let me walk out paying for half a plate of nachos I didn't eat. I told him it was fine I was just there for a snack and some drinks but he wanted to suggest other dishes that I could enjoy in the future and comped my nachos. I think the owners of this restaurant really care and they are catering to the clientele that is in this area so please forgive me for my previous comments because I was holding them to a standard that doesn't exist in this community. I will go back again and try some of the dishes he suggested. Their food is awful. The first time I went there I ordered a chicken taco and a cheese enchilada. The chicken taco didn't taste like anything, and the enchilada was just ok. I figured I would try it again today at happy hour. I ordered fish tacos to eat there and chicken burrito to take home with me. The fish tacos were obviously frozen patties. Picture a Gorton filet cut in half. Seriously, that is what they are passing off at fish tacos. I ate about three quarters of one and then pushed my plate aside. It took my server about 20 minutes to even ask how the food was and when I told her it was awful she went and got it discounted but it was only discounted by about 30% percent versus what I paid for that crappy food. I'm now considering throwing it up because it was pretty bad and I will never go back.

we snuck out for lunch and landed here. it was pretty empty inside and we were led to a table quickly. it's pretty new and sparkly inside, but that's where the goodness sort of ends. service was fine but the food was meh. the food was sort of dried out and tasteless. i didn't really have high expectations but i'm not sure if the place even met that. um, i guess the second star is for it being relatively quick.

excellent service, fresh ingredients, but watered-down, americanized food. get some hot sauce, extra salsa and a side of guacamole - you're going to need it! i had the camarones mojo de ajo and didn't taste the garlic at all. my companion had some sort of seafood enchiladas. he said it was pretty good but fairly bland.

Whew. I'm pretty sure I really needed to soak up as much sun as I could 'cause we opted to sit out on the patio at the Renton Landing location of Torero's. There's ample seating in front of the restaurant, but I recommend putting some sunblock on 'cause there's no shade to be had anywhere unless you go later in the day. At any rate, we arrived around 1pm and were seated immediately. No issues with the service; we were given (small) glasses of water and a generous basket of chips with salsa upon sitting, and our friendly waiter took our order shortly afterward: I went with the fish tacos and my SO got the taco salad. Food came out fairly fast along with a much-needed water refill and I dug in. Hmmm the tortillas were a bit soggy; I'd expected them to be a bit crispier to be able to better hold the contents of the taco. The fish (I'd forgotten to ask what kind) was lightly-battered, had a nice texture and wasn't too greasy which was appreciated. I also liked the tartar sauce, which had bits of cilantro and green pepper. Rice and beans were standard fare so I have no complaints about the sides. Overall not a bad experience, but not a stellar one either. I might come back and try some of their other seafood choices.

[copied review from closed location; food and service remain excellent] Our favorite of this-style Mexican place (think Azteca or similar chains.) Has some good specialties slightly different from other places around; always friendly and helpful service; freshly made tortillas. I love the Tacos al Pastor, which comes with it's own hot red sauce; wife loves the chicken mole enchiladas. Love that the Jumbo margarita is the small size, just gets bigger from there. Bar at new Landing location is larger, has several large TVs.

Best service hands down. Have been here multiple times with my husband and others and we loved it every time. Food is hot, and delicious, service is amazing. Your server is not the only one that comes to refill your water or ask you if you need something, everyone does and you feel very well taken care of. The food comes out very quickly, and the servers are very quick with getting you what you need. I always leave happy. Everyone is so nice to you and they all have a great attitude. Free chips, salsa and beans are delish! We started to buy our tortilla chips from here since we eat a lot of chips and salsa at home. I love this place and will continue to come back! Good job guys, I would give you more than five stars if I could.

It's exactly what you would expect. Watered down pseudo Mexican food with little flavor or imagination. First time I went to a Tereros was about 12 years ago and got food poisoning. Hadn't been since. Figured the brand new place would be safe. They placed all the white people in front of their huge picture window and we were stuck far away in the back, by the kitchen and the whole dining room had open seats. There was probably 10 tables filled in the restaurant. So needless to say, we received no service. Waitress took our order, never refilled my water and didn't bring the jalapeños that I requested and didn't come back until it was time to get money. Go to Ricardo's in Factoria if you want flavorful Mexican food. $15 for a plate of canned food from Sysco heated up with bland cheese and watered down just isn't worth it.

The food is bomb!!! But the prices can be expensive if it's not happy hour.

Always had a great experience here. Great food and service. The greet you when you arrive, you get your chips and drinks quickly, they actually pay attention until you walk out. You would receive Thank yous from various employees. We will enjoy and will be back again.

I have eaten at Torrero's numerous time since living in Renton I ate here on cinco de mayo .. It was very busy (for obvious reason) I came alone and was seated towards the back, it took well over 15 mins to bring my chips and salsa (which i didnt want) by that point I had already figured out what I wanted to order.. The girl who brought the chips and salsa insisted I must wait for my server which took another 10-15 mins. I ordered a Margarita on the rocks and a Chicken Quesadilla ... The margarita had very LITTLE tequilla and the mix was crap. The quesadilla was mushy with hardly any chicken (would have been cheaper to have ordered plain cheese w/o the chicken) and the tortilla was paper thin. I didnt get the slightest buzz off my $8 margarita .. So I ordered a Dos XXX (beer) which was very bland and obviously out of a keg which was on its last bit. I left hungry and dissatisfied I will NOT be going back as others have mentioned here... I feel since they moved to the Landing they have lacked in quality and service... I'm on the hunt for a real tradition authentic mexican restaurant yet again since they have decided to change their ways to make an extra buck.

I don't get the bad reviews here! I have been here three times and the service was fast and friendly and my food was delish! I got the steak fajitas last time and I loved them. The portions are large enough that you'll likely take some home and enjoy leftovers!

Food was A-OK and delivered to World of Beer. I had no issues with the woman who delivered the food. In fact, she was rather nice. I was surprised with the amount of chips we received. LOTS were delivered. And the portions are very generous. I will order again when I'm at WOB.

I absolutely love Toreros! But this Toreros is not the old one. Lets start with the management, rude, I watched a manager pull away our beautiful waitress and get on her for another employees mistake, either he didn't like her, or me, but she was waiting on our table, and was told to leave us for another table? Then that was the driest, smallest carne asada I have ever had! Maybe you guys need more time to get everything back in order, but dang I really liked my carne asada from toreros! I'll give em another try, but not until football season starts!

I've been to this location on at least five different occasions, including once with a party of 12. The service has been great each time and the food has been equally as good. The thing that sticks out the most is the owner Ted, is always there working hard bussing tables and seating guests. Every time I visit this location he always comes around to visit each of the tables. This kind of service is what separates it from the rest. We will definitely be back in the future.

I will have to find another place to have menudo. Since they moved to the new location service has gone down hill rapidly and the food has become inconsistent. The new location is LOUD and the service slooooooow. In July, we had reservations for 6:30 PM for a party of 10. We got there 30 minutes early, the table was ready but they made us wait until 6:30 then seated us at the table!n The menudo was good. Two weeks ago we had a group of 6. After 45 minutes passed(we were told 15 minutes) I noticed several groups of 5 that arrived after we did get seated! After another 30 minutes I asked why we still had to wait after they had seated several groups of 5. When we finally got seated the food was barely passible. Went back for the third and last time. It took 30 min to get a bowl of menudo and a tostada + a Bloody Mary. Sorry to say that after eating at to old location for many years, I may not return to this place.

Like others, not the old Torero's. The food was 2 on a scale of 1-10, the service was slow. We order fajitas and an a couple other dishes to split. We asked for extra tortillas and were told they were $1.29 extra. REALLY, for a flour tortilla! Her response when asked why so much was "times are hard all over" Well they must be really hard for Torero's to charge for an extra tortilla! Went to the manager on the way out just to suggest they shouldn't charge extra for a simple tortilla especially when out tab was over $120. She couldn't care less and waved her hand at me to hurry up. Had her purse over her shoulder like she was off work and couldn't wait to get out of there. My sentiments exactly! Snotty service and bad food don't make for a good dinner experience. DON'T waste your time. Great food and service is just up the hill at La Fuente on Sunset Blvd.

Hmm..I'm not sure why I'm giving this place 3 stars. I think it's for the food portion/taste and the bean/salsa with the chips that they serve. Otherwise, it's your typical Mexican restaurant that is slightly overpriced. We had 1 beer and two plates and our bill was almost $50 for dinner! The place is nice and roomy and the hostess was friendly. However, I couldn't tell who our server was. Someone took our drink order, another person dropped it off. Someone else took our food order and someone from the kitchen dropped it off. I asked the person who dropped our food off for some sour cream, and someone else dropped it off. It looks like great team work and all but it really made dinner very impersonal you can't even figure who your server really is. Other than that, great Mexican food. Love the bean dip they provide with the salsa and chips. That's definitely a plus. I'm only taking one star off because of the server confusion and another for the price. Be prepared to spend at least $20 for your individual meal if you come for dinner.

My husband and I came into this new Torero's location for lunch on Saturday. We sat in the bar and the place was pretty empty. We quickly received our chips and salsa and they took our drink order. That's where the decent service ended, Karina, our server probably should have been writing her orders down because both of our orders were incorrect. I ordered the 2 taco combo with one chicken and one beef taco, she asked me twice what meat I wanted on the tacos, she then asked if I wanted sour cream and guac, I told her just guac. She then confirmed that I just wanted sour cream and I corrected her again. My husband ordered the enchilada and taco plate but asked to sub the enchilada for a tamale. So when our orders arrived I received two beef tacos and my husband received a plate with an enchilada, tamale and taco. The beef taco's were pretty gross, the beef had absolutely no seasoning I was almost tempted to remove the beef off the tacos. After Karina served us our food she didn't come back for some time to check on us and make sure all was well and by that time we had almost finished our lunch. Also, for the extra charge of the guac, you get like 1-2 table spoons for almost 2 dollars...seemed a little over priced for the quality of it. There are better mexican restaurants in the area, I wouldn't waste my time or money with this place again.

I couldn't decide whether to not rate them 1 or 2 stars. The service is VERY fast. If they would slow down they would have noticed that the awful personal pizza my son ordered was frozen when they brought it out. Yes, he ordered pizza in a "Mexican" restaurant, but they could at least cook it. My son ended up ordering something else because the pizza was obviously from a box and no bigger around than an apple. I could have overlooked it, but then my sister had a long bone (about 2 inches) in her chicken burrito. It happens, I get it. It's shredded chicken. However, nothing grosses my sister out more than a bone-in chicken. We told our server and they didn't do anything. She could have choked. (Yes kind of funny... choking on a chicken bone) Thankfully that didn't happen. We won't be going back. The place is also clean which we liked. Too bad that doesn't make up for the frozen pizza and chicken bone in the burrito.

Over-priced Mexican food that wasn't that good. The food was under seasoned and the wait staff are inattentive and sometimes mistaken your request for more (such as more chips or salsa) as no more. They are stingy on refill (drinks). Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Like other reviewers have stated, this is not like the old Toreros. My husband and I ate frequently at the Rainier location that just closed, so I thought they just picked up and moved to the Landing, but this place (although sparkling and new) has NOTHING on the old location. I don't recognize any of the new servers. They all seem new, young and inexperienced. Our server was very nice, but she was pretty bad. She didn't ask any follow up questions to items you would normally customize and never warned about plates being SUPER hot (and they were hot.) She brought my shrimp cocktail out hot when I wanted it cold and she didn't bring out my side order of beans until I was done with the soup, caught her attention and asked about it to which she said, " oh right, your side." The food was okay, the cheese on my husband's plate looked like it sat so long under the heat lamp that it burned, but he never complains about anything so I have no clue if his food was good or not. My shrimp cocktail didn't have a single piece of avocado in it, other than that it tasted fine. Like I said, our server was really nice and had a good attitude, but she either needs much more training or she just really isn't in the right line of work. Also, there were loads of waitstaff just hanging around everywhere at the front near the register so it was kind of awkward when coming or going. I assume they were in training?

Absolutely love this place. The chips are always warm and crispy, delivered as you are sitting down. The staff Is always so friendly. The food is amazing. My husband has decided the pollo asada is his meal of choice. The chicken is expertly cooked to perfection. The only reason they get down graded from 5 stars is that the chicken portions are getting smaller and more rice and beans are being added to the plate. Our daughter gets custom tacos that the kitchen does amazing with. She loves the spices and how "yummy" it tastes. What ever I order is always amazing. We are regulars and will continue to be.

Upon walking in it smelled like it had potential, our complimentary chips 'n salsa heightened our excitement ... Our margaritas were they typical extremely high sugar drink with a kick of tequila... Then we got our food. OUT OF THE CAN AND/OR FREEZER, FLAVORLESS AMERI-MEXICAN. My chicken was extremely dry and there was zero effort in making my dish 'authentic.' Obviously this is a chain place, but we were not-so-pleasantly surprised at how short this place feel from edible Mexican food. We hardly touched our food explained to our waiter in a very delicate and polite manner that our food was sub-par, he gave us our $45 bill and we were out the door. Would not return.

Huge menu options. The mango margarita blended is delicious. One will be enough since it's in big margarita glass. I had the nacho in small. It had tons of gooey cheddar cheesiness, guac, sour cream, veg, and chicken (I had added). The group of us are in the bar, and the servers are so genuinely sweet, and regularly checks up on you. A great location since you can walk across to go shopping as it's in the Renton Landing.

Standard Mexican fare. This location is beautifully decorated. I recommend the pork carnitas as my favorite dish there. My service experience is never stellar here, drinks and orders were done incorrectly multiple times, but the food turnaround is always fast. Good place to go for a meal when it's the weekend because you won't have to wait long.

This place I have nothing negative to say, this is my first time here and my first time tasting chicken mole. Both experience's are great. I'm not a big review type person but I had to day something about this place. It's at the landing in Renton. They are very attentive and respectful. The good it coined fresh to order and quick and streaming hot! Also the tortillas are made fresh right in front of you. Everything is great and I'm not exaggerating you will have to come see for yourself. I will definitely be back!

Never have had a good experience here. The first time we were there we got the wrong bill. The last time we went there we ended up walking out, because we sat at our table for about 15 minutes watching every other table get served, but nobody greeted us. Last night was terrible. When we sat down we were immediately brought chips, salsa and a bean dip. Yum. We thought it as going to be a good night. Server didn't come greet the table until chips and waters were empty. My boyfriend ordered the beef nachos and I had a chicken enchilada combo. Overpriced first of all, Torero's pricing has always been way higher than any other Mexican restaurant I've been too - and the portions are smaller too. His nachos, all the beef was under the chips, instead of on top or mixed like it would be anywhere else, and everything was just piled on top. He was 1/2 way finished before he was even able to get to the beef. He said it was disgusting and will never order it again. My enchiladas were okay, there wasn't much flavor unfortunately and man are they stingy on their rice and beans. Our server had our table, one other table of four behind us, and then two large tables. The other family and our table got horrible service. Our waitress was more focused on the two large parties. We had to ask different people every time we needed something. More chips, salsa, water (in the tiniest glasses I've ever seen at a restaurant). One time we did ask our server for more water, she literally yelled across our table to another server on the computer to get us water. The only time she checked on how our food was tasting was when I was finished and my plate was already pushed to the edge of the table. During our visit, we noticed we weren't the only smaller group getting terrible service. A table of two got sat next to us and they had to stop two different servers to get someone to take their order. The people behind us never got checked on. So if you are looking for average food and terrible service, you found the place to go. If you want something decent, I suggest never going here. Will not be back, third time is NOT the charm.

I have eaten here numerous times now. My sister is a local and it's one of her favorite eats. The chips and salsa are mediocre; however, I do like that they bring out complimentary beans with the chips. The guacamole is really good and could tell it's made in house. I have tried burritos, tacos, tacos salads, and enchiladas. All have been really good. The only item I don't care for are the tamales. I am very biased when it comes to those because I am used to having homemade ones around Christmas time. It's a Mexican tradition. Anyway, the service is great and very efficient. Can't wait to go back next year when I am visiting.

I was very disappointed in this place. The service was slow and the waiter took forever to come back each time. The chili relleno that was ordered to go was very watery and soupy. I did not understand the random blob of guacamole but no sour cream and then the added pickled cabbage pile. I would rather have lettuce rather than pickled cabbage. It wasn't very good on top of everything. I recommend going to the Torero's in the Benson Center area, also in Renton. Their quality was much better and the food tasted a lot better. We won't be coming back to this place.

First off, the food is amazing. Good price, good quality. I'm from Southern California, and these are the best home made flour tortillas I've ever had. The service sucked, like, horribly. Our drinks were wrong, no big deal. They get corrected with no apology. Whatever. We have 3 people and are out of chips and salsa before we even order our food. No offers to refill. We get our food, finish our drinks about a third of the way through the meal. I'm glad we were given water in addition to what we ordered, because nothing was refilled at all through the meal. It's not like we were stuck in the back corner, either. We were right next to the kitchen, so our waitress passed us multiple times. We had been sitting, done with our meal for a while. She took one plate, then didn't return for a good ten minutes to clear anything else. We got to the point where we put the card on the table, two of us got up, then suddenly she was there to run it and get us the bill and some boxes. Good food, definitely, but we definitely won't be going back any time soon.

I've only been here once, so maybe one day I'll be able to come back with an update and more stars. We went on a Wednesday, at about 3:30. The service was super slow considering there was only one other table with anyone at it. The food was pretty bland and when I order a carne asada burrito, I want some meat, not just 5 little pieces. Guacamole was flat with no flavor. My son said the only good thing about his burrito was the tortilla. I'm sure it was just an off day. Lots of people I know seem to think this place is great, so maybe we'll give it another shot someday. For now, we'll stick to Maya's in Rainer Beach. It's close enough to walk to and the food and service are always outstanding.

Being from San Diego Mexican food is a big deal to me. I was hesitant to try this place but we tried it the other night and I am glad we did!!! It was so good! First off not only do they give you chips and salsa but you get a side dish of beans! That's awesome! We went on a busy night but we didn't wait long. Once we were seated at our table they already had three waters for us and one of the waters had a lid for my son. It's little things like that that make a big difference where we spend our money. Little details. For 2 plates, 3 drinks, and a kids plate we paid about 45 dollars. Great price, great service, and great food! A must try! We will back!

I love the service & the food here! My husband has been trying to get me to eat here for months! Honestly, I finally went a month ago because we were hungry & needed to go somewhere close by. The experience that day was great just like today. Tonight as we walked in the hostess immediately greeted us in Spanish and a lovely smile. She seated us at a booth that we wanted and immediately two ladies were at our table serving us. A young lady brought us chips, salsa and bean dip and pouring water into our cups while an older lady (the main waitress) asked if we wanted something else other than water to drink. All this attention by the 3 ladies in less than one minute! Wow! Once we've decided on our order we started munching on the chips, salsa and bean dip. The dip was really tasty and the salsa was fresh and spicy! Ya! Before we could finish our bowl of chips our order was ready! I love foods served hot and the plates were really hot, so it kept my food hot! The waitress was very attentive by coming by to check on us and the food. We really enjoyed our food and the time there. Everything was tasty! It's hard to find a place with good service, quality food and with fair prices! The staff is really friendly and they make you feel happy and welcomed. It's this type of experiences that will keep me coming back for more! If you haven't been to this location you totally should!

Ordered the vegetarian burrito, my recollection of the menu stated in consisted of beans, cheese, pico de gallo and guacamole. When it arrived it contained 90% rice, which is the cheapest filler they can put in to maximize their profit. There was no cheese whatsoever.

Service is OK, nothing special. Food is tasteless and not seasoned at all. "sauteed" vegetables could not have been more raw. We ended up taking our food home and will re-cook with seasoning to make it edible. Save yourself some dollars and go elsewhere.

Came here with a couple friends. They automatically give you water and chips/salsa and beans. They salsa tasted amazing! I ordered the chicken fajitas and a large strawberry margarita to share ($19)- not too bad for 2 ppl to drink, yummy. The presentation of the fajita chicken was pretty. Came out on a hot sizzling pan. They also brought a plate for sides and for my tortillas. I gave four stars only because there was not enough space on the table to place all of our food comfortably. And because they were pretty busy at 6pm ish so we didn't have the greatest service but they tried. Food came out pretty fast also. I would come back, next time for happy hour.

3.5 stars. Outstanding service, but just average food. I was a frequent customer at the Fred Meyer location before closing and was hoping this new location would deliver to my high expectations. Our service was top-notch. Our table of 11 was brought several baskets of warm chips & salsa as soon as we sat down. Although it was extremely busy (it was Mother's Day), we received our food quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive - he even gave my grandma a free plate of bunuelos (fried cinnamon tortillas) and ice cream! As for the food, it's your basic family style Mexican restaurant. I ordered the burrito asada, which was mediocre. My initial thought after my first bite? My food is lukewarm! My second thought? They must have given me the bean burrito since there were only a few strips of meat but an overwhelming amount of whole beans. Not quite the same quality of food I had always experienced at the old location, but I'm willing to give it another go in the future.

I have been pleased time and time again by the food and friendly service at Torero's. They have an awesome happy hour menu and make for a perfect dinner spot before a movie at the Landing. I love that they are such a family oriented business. A manager always visits my table and makes sure that my party is experiencing good service! Highly recommended!

Had dinner here and was very pleased! Started in the bar and had to decline the 40 oz. Margarita! Just went with the 20 oz. Should have known better cuz I ordered another 20 oz. one later! We were there and waiting for another person in our party and they were so nice and patient to us. When our 4th person arrived, we had to visit a little and there was no pressure. We finally ordered and our food came piping hot and delicious! We will be back!

Got chili verde. It was okay. It was tender and cooked well, however. It meets what you'd expect of chili verde, it's just I've had better closer to home. The environment was nice and open. It's located on a busy corner so parking may not be convenient. There are several places to shop near by though. Service was good, beer was big and plate size is the standard size you would find at any Mexican place (big).

Everything I have tried here has been absolutely delicious! Google said this restaurant was open at 10am, but when we got there they were closed. The bartender let us in early since their kitchen was ready. Very friendly staff, very clean environment and wonderfully delicious food! I had the deluxe tostada. Very very good and fresh toppings. Asked for a fried jalapeno that was very good also!

Don't know where to begin. See photo, then finish reading. I'll wait.... Right?? Insane. This is only something you see in a movie! I took my brother here after he got off a plane from Japan to visit us and this was in his burrito!!! And after this JUST our food was comped and no invite to come back on the house. I'm making sure everyone knows about this and hopefully you don't go here! What if you or your child swallowed this, it punctured your insides and you ended up bleeding out and dying?? No. I can't take any one of my friends going through something like that. Just please, don't go here. Ever.

Torero's has good service, the food comes out quickly, and the food is all right. Try the arroz con pollo if you like that dish. Theirs is great. The tortillas are also good. Cheesy decor but the place is clean. Food: 3 Service: 4 Parking: 4 Ambiance: 3

It's a Mexican restaurant in Renton with good food, reasonable prices, and friendly service. I was worried at first about paying too much for lunch, so I ordered the lunch special and it was super cheap! It changes by the day, and Thursday's enchiladas were a little incomplete for me, so I'll have to see what else they can cook up on a future visit. The food arrives quickly and is enjoyable, if a bit excessive on the sodium. Just don't expect to be getting a whole lot if you're ordering a lunch special. The rest of the menu isn't even that expensive, and they clearly put care into maintaining this place. I would love ordering other items on the menu and seeing what they're like.

  • Anna N.

This place is a lot bigger inside than it looks. The atmosphere is fun and the employees are friendly. However only some move with a sense of urgency. I enjoy coming here for the carne asada and nachos! Those are some great items I would recommend. Don't bother with salad at a Mexican restaurant, I learned that the hard way. I know, who orders a salad at a Mexican place? I just wanted to choose a healthy option. My salad was underwhelming with a lack of bold flavors, a small portion, and the chicken included felt a little undercooked. I would have been happier with a chipotle burrito bowl at that point. It's a good place overall. Everyone has their star items, and of course the few they could do without.

Torero's at The Landing is great Mexican food at an affordable price. I have been to Torero's since I was a kid at their old location off Rainier. Watching their business flourish again at The Landing is truly amazing. While here I got the enchiladas one verde and one with the crema sauce. They are awesome. They make all of their flour tortillas there and taste amazing. Also I like that they not only being you salsa, but bean dip with your chips free of charge. If you haven't tried this place yet I recommend it. On the weekend it can get pretty packed with families and the wait can be long. Also opted for the bar, they have plenty of seating.
