Good service, we were seated quickly despite a decent line when we walked in. The food was good, I had the chicken fried steak, which was a big, thick cut of beef. That was perfectly cooked, and the meat and breading were seasoned nicely! Eggs were poached to perfect, nice runny yolk, and whites that were still soft! My wife had some pancakes with something special on them. She liked those too. Oh, $5 for a glass of OJ is ridiculous. Come on, guys.

I hate to write a bad review but the service here has consistently sucked. The first time I came here I just thought they were busy, and I could understand. But every time after that it was just as bad if not worse. Our waitress pretty much ignored us the whole visit. Someone else had to fill our drinks, and basically pick up her slack. The food here is good most of the time, but today my omelette was way over cooked. It took 40 minutes for us to get our food. A simple cheese omelette and a waffle. If I ever came back it wouldn't be to this location. At least not until they fix the problem and employ people who socialize with their customers and actually acknowledge their presence.

The employees that worked there seemed un-interested to even be at work. One of the waitresses even got upset and rolled her eyes when we asked for a refill on one of our drinks. My boyfriend also doesn't eat eggs and when he asked what he can substitute the eggs for the gentleman who took our order said he couldn't sub the eggs for anything. Seemed kind of crappy to pay all that money and he couldn't even get extra has browns or bacon or something. Even Denny's subs stuff like eggs. Sure we have to pay like 50 cents more but that's fine. Whatever. So after all that, we finally get our food. I got the eggs Benedict, while it was amazingly delicious, the hollandaise sauce was lukewarm at best. You spend like $12 and all you get are these 2 eggs benedict. It was delicious, but the price wasn't fair. My boyfriend got pancakes, hasbrowns and country fried steak. His only complaint....they could have been more generous with the gravy.

Just go, try it. On a weekday, when it's not extremely busy so you can get the best of everything. You will not be disappointed. If you like omelettes, that's all you have to order for greatness. But you can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Even the homemade oatmeal is delicious. There's not a microwave or freezer in this place, the food is fresh as can be. Have I mentioned the Orange juice? You might wonder, why so expensive? It's fresh squeezed EVERY morning. Believe me, I worked at this OPH for two years from the opening date. I've squeezed my fair share of orange juice boxes. Whenever I'm in town, no matter the time, I try to make sure I go in for a solid meal. Portions are huge! Order a few items and share!

My husband, 91/2 mth son, and I visited OPH as they are referred last Saturday. We were sitted rather quickly. The atmosphere was very nice and pleasant. The staff were pleasant. I was impressed with the menu selection however most of the items I would like with my selection had to be ordered al carte. So, my husband and I opted to share. Side note: not allowed as it was noted several places on the menu. I chose sausage, eggs with pepper jack, and pancakes. My husband chose sausage, egg over easy, and hot potatoes. The portions were definitely not what we were used to but filling. I was not a fan of the sausage, I must state I'm picky in this area. The pancakes were fluffy and light and the homemade maple syrup was great. I enjoyed my husband's potatoes. Overall, yes OPH is better in taste and service than most IHOP's but there are plenty of other breakfast locations that fit the bar as "best" in my opinion. American Pancake House, hands down is one...service, price, and quality of food. OPH, keep up the great work of purchasing locally. Try it for yourselves. Note: my husband and I are of average size in terms of body weight, should that matter for anyone. And our 9 1/2 month was accommodated with a booster chair. I gave 2 stars specifically for this as our food was placed right in reach of his grabbing little hands. Special note: staff place customers food away from little grabby exploring hands...parents/care takers are already trying to prevent worst case accidents...like silverware in eyes, necks, etc.

Overall this is a really great place. I've been here twice and both times the service was great. Seated almost immediately and the waitress was attentive. There's no question about the quality either. Every item we have tried from the pancakes, omelettes and biscuits and gravy all really good. My one complaint would be the portion size on the biscuits and gravy. It's almost $14 and you get ONE small biscuit cut in 1/2. I mean biscuits are inexpensive to make so that was just very disappointing. My husband left still hungry.

Solid breakfast joint, but I would consider this location a weaker link in the chain. Our thick cu bacon was chewy and under cooked. Also, be forewarned, their omelet are fluffy....a technique where they put the eggs under a broiler before serving. May like this, I do not. It also price. That said, its a solid upgraded diner experience.

We've been here few times and are overall impressed. I'm glad that we gave it a second chance because our first visit was not pleasant. The only negative things I will say about it is that their staff really needs to do a better job of cleaning and I have NO idea why the Dutch Baby is so popular. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that (because I've never had one before), but I definitely didn't like it. My favorite is definitely the coconut pancakes, though I do get it with the tropical syrup - Just way too sweet for me. With the exception of some minor cleaning that could be done, we're definitely impressed and have gone back a few times.

Although the food is great, menu flexibility is lacking. Kids menu is sparse and sone of the staff can be very rude. Remember you are not the only option and your default answer must NOT be no.

Tonight was perfect. Well, almost perfect but OPH was awesome. My 4 year old is another story. We typically enjoy visiting OPH for dinner when the pace is slower and less busy. We walked in and received a warm welcome. We were seated promptly and our server, Isaac was wonderful. My husband ordered chicken fried steak with potatoes, I ordered the bacon & eggs with toast, our 4 year old had kid cakes with sausage patties. Hubby and I have OPH mugs, allowing us to enjoy free coffee for life. This helped with our bill and their decorative mugs are cute. We purchased them at $20 but have used them at least 10 times since then. Our meal was delicious (as usual) but our service was excellent. Isaac was attentive without being intrusive. He was polite, thoughtful, and attentive. Great service, delicious food, and free coffee? We are customers for life.

This place sure does the business on a Sunday morning. It was a bit of a nostalgia trip walking in because there was a Pancake House where I grew up in Michigan and I hadn't been to one in years. The wait for a table was about 15 minutes. I went with an omelet and some pumpkin pancakes. The omelet was standard size but the eggs were a bit fluffier than I am used to. Still good though. The pancakes were phenomenal. The whipped butter they use is still spot on, and if you can time the syrup saturation right before the 'cakes get too soggy, your day is complete. The pumpkin was great to kick off the autumn season. Overall the staff were friendly, and considering how busy it was, the food arrived within a reasonable amount of time. I'm glad they have other locations in the area because I will be needing some good breakfast again soon.

Went to this place expecting the best. Most of our friends raved about the food. Came here with my boyfriend and his mother. Waited about 45 min to be seated, then another 15-20 min just to order. The server was nice but she didn't seem too engaged with our table. We then waited another 20 min for our breakfast to arrive, but it was not complete. They forgot my boyfriends mom's order, so as we waited for her food our food got cold. Needless to say the food was "Ok" and the service we rec'd was average. We probably won't be returning to this place as I would rather drive the extra 30 mins to eat at Sun Break Cafe in Auburn.

Sadly, I never got seated to even tell you about the food. Stopped by on a Monday. Lobby area was crowded and at first I couldn't understand why it was so busy then I realized it was a MLK holiday. Stood in the lobby for a few minutes along with about ten other people, most of whom were sitting. Never saw a host. Never was greeted. Never knew what the wait time was. This restaurant seems to be too new, too inexperienced and too overhyped by the starving people of Puyallup and Graham. Sorry. Took my business elsewhere. Not interested when this place decides to get its act together. Food cannot be as good as its service. Cheers!

Went to take my son for breakfest. Amazing time there. Waiter was great, the service was slow orange juice is fresh. Each dish had it's own plate.

Amazingly consistent and delicious pancakes! I love coming here with my family. The service is a little inconsistent. Sometimes it's amazing and other times it makes me never want to return. I love the banana pancakes with strawberry syrup. Strawberry banana anyone? My husband favors the chocolate chip pancakes. They also have the best hot chocolate with house made whipped cream. Customer beware on a Sunday there is a church nearby so the line can sometimes go outside the door.

  • Brenda R.

I like eating here during the week when it's not too busy. I would give it 5 stars but the bathrooms always smell funny. I live the food here. I always get the 49'ers, strawberries and whip. My girls love it here

    (4)
  • Jordan B.

Love the strawberries and whipped cream when they are in season!! I usually get the bacon and eggs with English muffin. I found after awhile I had to tell them I want my bacon extra crispy just to get it cooked all the way..they usually barely cook it if you don't say anything. Which is fine, I have no problem saying that. Never had a problem anytime I have told them that. If you go on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning...it's definitely going to be a longer wait. So make plans accordingly. They make their food way better than ihop, Denny, Sharis and some people order food that can take up to 15-25 minutes just to make. Well worth it though !!

Took the kiddies to have some breakfast based upon a recommendation from a friend who is from the local area. Plus I do kinda like breakfast just about anytime! We ordered the Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Irish Omelette, and the Country Fried Steak with over medium eggs. We each shared with one another so all sampled the full spectrum of wares. No one was left hungry for certain and each enjoyed the meal. It was a little pricey so we wouldn't make it a daily visit but I would say we could be monthly regulars. Our waiter was good also as he was willing to discuss the menu and honest about his experiences.

Can it get any better than this! Best bacon anywhere hands down! This place feels like home...mirror image of MY fav OPH in Buffalo Ny...love it, cant say it enough!!

Food is freaking delicious but they don't have any lunch/dinner type foods. Portions are huge but expensive.

First time here! My FIL and I came close to noon and this place was incredibly busy. We didn't wait too long... around 15-20 minutes. We definitely came at the perfect time because they were closing from 1-4pm to attend a funeral service I believe. If eggs benedict is on the menu, I'm more than likely will choose it and truthfully... it was okay. Nothing spectacular. Their hashbrowns were a huge miss with me... I was expecting the shredded potato or even pan fried, not kinda smashed potatoes. My FIL ordered their ham & cheese omelet which is really huge for what we paid for! Would love to come back and you know, try their pancakes.

I am completely amused and also bashful to report how much I ate here. + The setting: overcast 4th of July; + Why I thought i could stuff my gullet (so disgustingly full): this was marketed as "brunch" (even though 1 pm / even though I had already eaten a full breakfast); + Was it great food: nah, but eat and eat I did! + The thing you need to understand: WHEN YOU ORDER A 5 EGG OMELET, OH YES, YOU ARE ALSO GETTING 3 PANCAKES. Blueberry pancakes were good. Bacon / white cheddar omelet was ok. Cheese was a little funky to my taste (I like sharp cheddar--it wasn't a sharpness question--just a little odd on the flavor). Biggest critique: no real maple syrup-- (::channeling GOB Bluth:::) C'MON!! Those of us that care for maple WILL pay extra--just offer it to us! Biggest compliments: server gave a good effort to this table of 10; had all the seminal hot-sauce offerings for the eggs. An aside: Not expensive to get 2 meal-equivalents (full serving of omelet; plus the pancakes) for $12.

Came on a Sunday late morning. 25 min wait. No problem. Once we were seated we had nasty service. Our server sped past us and said only waters right? Waited almost 10 mins to place order. Server stopped with food in her hands to take order. Waited for more water and she never said anything to us when she refilled. They had lots of people walking around cleaning clean tables. They needed to focus more on customers already dining. The food was great got banana pancakes and Irish omlet. Good size and fair prices. I only gave two stars because of the food. Service was some of the worst I have seen. Probably would not come back. No matter how busy you are no excuse for the care less type of service I saw here.

  • Vanessa R.

This restaurant was nothing special, but it also wasn't the worst place ever. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday around noon- it wasn't terribly busy. We were seated promptly and the service was A-OK, again- not amazing and not horrible. The prices were a little high for the quality of the food, and I expected a bit more in terns of portions. I ordered a omelette with coconut pancakes on the side. I was charged extra for the coconut (understandable) and extra for subbing a different kind of cheese in the omelette.. a bit unusual. The syrup that came with the coconut pancakes was old to say the least and left a bad taste in both mine and my boyfriends mouth (I had him try some to make sure I wasn't crazy). All in all, I won't tell you to stay away. There is nothing glaringly wrong with this establishment but I also will not be going back. There are better breakfast places in the world.

Best breakfast food around! I dont think NOTHING beats this place, I REALLY LOVE their Fresh squeezed OJ, and havent had a Pancake yet that wasn't good! All REAL good, while Im not a Coffee drinker, the plus here also is that they use real creamer for you coffee drinkers. If your looking for a good place for Breakfast items, this is the place to go! Like I said in my tip, best time to come here is after 3pm, in the morning this place is REAL busy, specially on the weekends, they are now open till 8pm :)

The food has never been bad, super tasty, but wait can be long and portion size for price is lacking a little! Otherwise amazing place to take the family for a yummy breakfast! My kids bag for it!

My favorite place! They have the best pancakes and great service! It is a longer wait for food than a Denny's or IHOP, but it is so worth it!

I love the food here! We had a very enjoyable time. Waitress was very respectful, present and took good care of us. Great atmosphere with warm fireplace. We ordered the omelet and pancakes, all was very delicious! I would highly recommend it!

  • Alekkz H.

Ehh.. Expensive. Just a bit. When you come during the busy hours, probably early mornings and especially on weekends, expect to wait 30-50 minutes. My friend luckily came earlier to be put on the wait list but we waited a good 45 minutes. Then of course, it took us 10-15 minutes to be waited on and then another 30 minutes for our food to come. We were the non-impatient type who stare down at busy servers trying to do their best. So we didn't mind waiting. I ordered the Pineapple Pancakes... I want some of that goodness right now! My friends cringed at the idea thinking it was weird. Nope, not at all, if you like pineapples- go for it! I come here once every half a year? haha I don't know but it's good!

  • Amanda J.

I had the pumpkin pancakes and they were to die for! The scratch made syrup was amazing, and so was the whipped butter. My husband had the blueberry pancakes and he loved them. Great service too! An awesome experience from start to finish. I was also impressed that Isaac, our waiter, brought our 2-year-old's meal out before our food was ready. Our son isn't super at waiting and he takes forever to eat. More waiters/restaurants should do that!

I drive all the way from Tacoma to eat breakfast here. The green chile omelette is my fav! Love their potatoes, fresh squeezed oj, bacon is perfect and thick. Pancakes are delish, crepes, French toast, biscuits and gravy and fresh strawberry waffle are all very good. I am so excited there is now a location in Tacoma! So excited to try it!

  • Stefani B.

FOOD IS AMAZING! I don't understand what these other reviews are about with "bad food" or "ok food", this place is soooo good. I go here for cheat days from my diet and it just makes my weekend. The service is not amazing, which is why I gave only 4 stars. They don't spend time with you, they do seem rushed. I'm not asking them to sit down with me, it would just be nice if they acted like they cared a little. Hands down though, this food is orgasmic. The lemon Dutch baby is good and the Georgia pecan pancakes are to die for! :)

Went there for breakfast with my young granddaughter today, our first visit. I ordered the potato pancakes with a side of bacon; pancakes were so/so but the bacon was thick, chewy, and delicious. My granddaughter had the kid's menu pancakes and eggs, and only had the opportunity to try the eggs. Halfway through our meal I had to accompany my granddaughter to the bathroom so I made a point to ask the server not to have the table cleared as we would be right back. When we returned the busboy as stacking our dishes and the second half of our breakfast was ruined. The server offered to make some pancakes to go, then started asking me how much of my meal I had eaten so he could determine if I should have a discount on the bill. After several questions I informed him I was not going to debate how much of my meal was consumed before they trashed it and to just bring me my bill. Phil (the manager) ended up taking 25% off one single item, the potato pancakes. Perhaps some education on service recovery is in order; our breakfast date was ruined. Maybe I'm expecting too much from what is basically a fast food restaurant with fast food mentality staff. Disappointing.

Delicious food and great service, this is what all breakfast restaurants should be like....I will no longer go to Denny 's or Ihop as ling as there is an Original Pancake House near me....

    (5)
  • Heather K.

I can only speak about two items on the menu since we always order them. Eggs Benedict with potatoes are amazing. The chocolate chip pancakes are my kids fav. Everything is fresh and service has always been great. Not the cheapest, not the fastest but we go for a great tasting breakfast.

    (5)
  • Alice B.

Service SUCKS!! Food taste old!! Horrible horrible experience!! I would not visit this place again. I would rather go to Ihop instead. Atleast I know what I can expect. Our waitress Christina has no sense of urgency waited 15minutes after I got my food to get ketchup and coffee.

    (1)
  • Justin B.

This place has become a Sunday morning staple for our family. Food portions are huge and the wait staff is always friendly. Only reason they got 4 stars is the slow service time. Maybe it's a lack of cooks. Either way OPH is definitely worth the trip!

    (4)
  • Gary J.

I've been going to the Pancake House since they've opened this location and the service and food has been exceptional since the very first time. Even on weekends when the place is packed, the wait time are not what you'd expect and the service remains top notch, I highly recommend it.

    (5)
  • Angie B.

Very disappointing today, took 48 minutes to get food. Then it was brought out one person at a time and the manager didnt apologize , boo!

There's nothing that makes me want to run back here. No different from Denny's or any other breakfast joint.

    (3)
  • Charles L.

OMG !!! These dudes do EVERYTING !!! from scratch. When they say "Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice"....they mean it. I mean I actually saw them squeezing the o.j. Their bacon waffles is the best and so are the bacon pancakes. It's a little pricey but It's worth it. Their Apple Cinnamon Waffles are the bomb too.

    (5)
  • Blaine V.

We went here with the kids on a busy day, and were seated shortly after arriving.... waitress was short and could tell she didn't care. I ordered an omelette. Let's just say I'm a cook and never seen anything like it. Reminded me of a cross between a puff pastry and a quiche. I was starving and not too picky so I wolfed it down. She had pancakes eggs and bacon. Bacon was pretty bomb. Oh! This place must fresh squeeze their OJ though you could tell because it was SO bomb. Wish I'd of had some vodky to throw in the OJ before receiving the bill. Very overpriced. Most breakfast places are kinda spendy but dang It wasn't much food....

    (3)
  • Cassandra L.

Yummy Pancakes! Seriously the best ive ever had I did think it was a bit overpriced the large apple juice was no where close to a large. We went on a Saturday morning so we had a 30 minute wait to be seated which was a bit long but what would you expect on a Saturday morning.

    (4)
  • Keala M.

The orange juice is Yummy BUT The food (that we ordered, can't speak for the rest of the menu) was so disappointing! French toast with bacon, corned beef omelet, two orange juices, two kids chocolate milk, and country fried steak with pancakes... $80! This place is NOT worth the cost!!! I cook a better breakfast! I mean seriously and how can you screw up French toast!? It was dry and no taste. The corned beef omelet was bland and dry. The only thing good was the bacon and pancakes... And the gravy on the country fried steak... That's about it!! NEVER AGAIN!! Well I might come back for orange juice haha lol.

  • Josue P.

Food has never been bad but they could elevate their food if they put a little more passion in it.

    (3)
  • Argent F.

Meh it's nothing special..... At all...... Food was super bland, kids menu was lame, they don't do anything fun for that, food was cold. Waitress was ok but she didn't keep drinks full so we left thirsty. No creamers, pricey, all around a no go. Boring, bland, slow, pricey.

    (1)
  • Kris P.

Went in around 6 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon. It wasn't especially busy. The staff was patient and polite. The portions are generous which makes up for the pricy entrées. I shared my eggs and potatoes with buttermilk pancakes and neither of us finished. The blueberry and chocolate pancakes were tasty too. I wasn't overly impressed but it was satisfying if you're looking for pancakes for dinner (and before 8 since that's when they close).

    (3)
  • John C.

Delicious food and big portions!!! We had the chicken fried steak and corn beef hash and they were amazing!

    (5)
  • Brandi M.

Food is ok. Lots of options but they fail to execute in a lot of ways as far as the taste goes. Way over priced. $4.79 for OJ? Get real. Sure it was delicious, but the kids OJ is exactly the same and costs $1.00. I won't be coming back, not worth it by my standards.

  • Jay S.

Bottom line for the uninitiated: Part of a chain originated 50 years ago in Portland, each OPH is franchise based but they tend to be consistent, and this one is. Diner breakfasts with high quality ingredients, slightly high prices ($10-12 range for most items) and large portions. Good children's menu. Dutch babies and apple pancake - both the size of the plate - are two, main signature dishes. Poor, poor waitress - my gang of seven descended upon her on a mercifully quiet Saturday afternoon. We are Original Pancake House groupies...we know what we like and we are serious. We scared her with our speed and precision eating. Nothing was left but the plates and some to go pancakes. Apparently she had not encountered true groupies before. WORTH NOTING: They've recently expanded their hours til 8. Bonus! Most OPHs only stay open til 3. So check out the Happy Hour special: 3 medium sized pancakes, 2 eggs, sausage or bacon and coffee, tea or pop for only $7. 6-8am AND 2-4pm. Woo! For the record: I ate a large mushroom omelette with cream sauce, 3 pancakes, coffee and grapefruit juice. The egg dishes are huge and their omelettes are the fat, fluffy, diner style type. Their juices are fresh squeezed and delicious - you will pay for the freshness(about $3 for a small?), but sometimes I cannot resist. Coffee is good, hot, fresh diner style - flowing like water. If they aren't over dosing you on coffee, they ain't doin' their job...

I haven't even tried the food yet and I already am never coming back here. I asked to order the chicken fried steak but substitute the eggs for something else (I don't like eggs). I was told I could not do that. I asked to pay the difference in price between eggs and something else. I was told I could not do that. Congrats, you just lost a customer. Absolutely asinine. Swedish pancake was cold and mushy.

  • Jenny R.

We've been here multiple times. Their food is really good but their customer service is really bad. I'm not sure what happened but after returning several times after our initial visit where we gave them 4 stars we won't be back. Service was awful, they made my elderly grandmother who has a handicap pass walk to the furthest table back, we placed an order early in our visit for the apple pancake to allow the extra time and the waitress never put it in. So we sat and waited forever with no visit from the waitress until I finally had to approach a different waitress to see what was going on. 45 minutes for food to be delivered while other tables were seated, ordered food was delivered and they left. We will be thinking really hard before we come back. I hope they figure things out because it was really disappointing :-( $70 on breakfast should mean at least good customer service.....

I had the worse breakfast ever at this place! The grilled potatoes were burnt! Never coming here again! Over price

  • Amber C.

My husband and I decided to try this place today. We recently moved to the area and was looking for some good breakfast food. We got just the opposite. He said the Orange juice was disgusting and paid 4.79 for a small glass (which was a large). The pancakes were awful. Not sure how you can screw up pancakes but they were horrible!!! The corn beef hash tasted like a weird meatloaf and wasn't good either. This was our first and last time eating at this place. Service was mediocre and could've been better and the food was way overpriced. Will stick to IHOP in the future

    (1)
  • Wendy C.

Been here several times and their food is always great! The pancakes melt in your mouth and so do their waffles! Oh yeah...and their bacon...AMAZING! It's some of the best bacon I've ever had! I also really like their little potatoes. I just recently tried their pumpkin pancakes because I usually just get the buttermilk pancakes, and I have to say...the flavor of the pumpkin pancakes was really yummy! This is definitely a go-to breakfast spot! I also turned my parents on to this place and every time they come into town they want to go...I don't mind :)

  • Corinne M.

HOLY PRICES BATMAN!!! If I want strawberries on my pancake, that'll be almost $5 more, and if I want banana that'll be almost $3 more, side of bacon $5 more, WOW. One star: The place was VERY clean, and neat! Two stars: The staff was friendly and quick! Three stars: The food was pretty darn good (not amazing, but good, and filling) minus one star: Price - As stated in the begining... very spendy. I'm sorry, but some of the prices were over the top. minus two stars: Taste for the price - I want to be amazed, I don't mind paying a lot for food that blows me away, and leaves me wanting more. I do not like paying so much for a little better than average food. I don't know if we'll go back there, it just was too expensive for my taste.

Cant review. For the second time since we moved to the Tacoma area we were sat right away. Greated nicely and given water by the hostess. Last time until we walked out did anyone acknowledge. Looks like ill be saving money eating at home.

  • Desirae A.

We went at a good time and the place was less than 50% full. Our waitress was there right away but I was only on page 2 of the menu. She came back at a good time for us to order. The order was wrong but because of the wait time I decided I don't HAVE to do egg whites only this time. The food was ok. My SO loved the Dutch Baby. I waited a good 15min to get coffee and my refill didn't come until we were ready to leave. For the price is pretty high but since he loved his Dutch baby in sure we will be back.

Food was tasteless no amount of salt and pepper could save the omelet. Pancakes tasted super doughy. Highly disappointing. I don't recommend. Denny's is a lot better than this and a lot cheaper.

Busy on Saturday or Sunday mornings/early afternoons, but usually never have to wait any other time. LOVE THE FOOD! Everything we've had has been great. Bacon pancakes, country fried steak, Irish omelette, strawberry crepes, etc. Great hangover grub. Fresh OJ is expensive, but is worth it. Portions are good - omelettes in particular are HUGE - greasy due to the block of cheese in them, but I appreciate that. Not really any healthy options, but that doesn't bother me either. I'm not a fan of their potatoes, but aside from that, I have nothing but good things to say about the place!

Pretty good. They messed up on my order and discounted my bill. Wasn't that busy today as I have seen the line outside just to get in.

Try the Tahitian breakfast... I forget the full name.... But it is a great light pancake with tropical fruit sauce. Taking up the corner a strip mall in next to a closed down Albertson's i worry about its longevity. But i have always been pleased by my food and service. They are always kind and attentive. My only complaint is something they really can't change.... They need more space. It seems that they are full and people are waiting every time we get there.... Want inexpensive, good breakfast food with no frills? OPH is your place.

What a gem! My husband and I were looking for a place to eat before attending an event and found this place! It was very appealing from the outside so it was decided! Best decision EVER!!! The food was amazing and staff was very nice:-) I cannot wait to return! Definitely recommended.

Very long wait on Saturday mornings. AMAZING hash browns, a bit different but so tasty! I had the banana pancakes and they were fantastic, great flavor. Pretty spendy for what you get and our waiter was really weird about clearing our table in a timely manner. We had empty plates sitting before the rest of our food came and he just kept walking past (it was very clear he saw them and that they were in our way) it was really frustrating especially since we were seated at a small table. Other than that I wouldn't mind returning.

Went in for a late brunch today. About 80% of the tables were full when we arrived and were told it would be 35 minutes before we would be seated. No problem there, we left and came back. Once we got back and were seated it was another 10 minutes before the waitress made it over. At this time about 40% of the tables were full. We got our coffee, which was 3 bucks per glass, not very good, and not refilled in ANY hurry. When our food was brought out they had messed up the order as well. How tough is bacon and eggs with pancakes? Bottom line: 30 bucks is too much for two plates of greasy spoon style food and the service was bottom barrel quality.

We've been here on Sundays when the place is full and the waiting line extends out the door and the service was always fast. Today is a Thursday and the service was terrible. Obviously they are not staffed for weekdays like they are for Sundays but the service was so slow that we almost got up and walked out. ATTN: Manager, this is your fault and you need to fix it and if you can't then you are the problem, not your staff.

Great food, they have the best french toast! It's a cute little place to eat, does get busy in the mornings, but now is open later so you can go later to try it out if you don't want to wait.

There is always a huge line outside this place on the weekends. We went on a weekday and service was decent, and they were still moderately busy. We were still seated immediately and served at a reasonable pace. Husband had biscuits and gravy- nothing special. I had a Veggie Omelete- huge but a little runny for my taste. Agree with all the reviews that say it is pricey especially for the quaility. Orange juice was delicious but $5! Overall it was ok, but I would rather travel farther for a better breakfast.

  • Karina V.

I agree with everyone here- it's pretty pricey to eat. . and considering the location. . . I figured this would be a great mom and pop place. I ordered an omelet it came out looking like a pie- super fluffy. . and wasn't much filling. Probably not going to come here again.

  • Reinita S.

I loved their corned beef hash and their country style potatoes which they call "hash brown". Put them together with eggs and it is so good. They also serve freshly squeezed orange juice. :-) Their service was good too.

Service took a long time. The Blueberry pancakes were descent, but Coffee and Pancakes came around $13.00. No bacon, eggs, etc.. Just Pancakes and Coffee. Bit a pricey for the quality and atmosphere. Not likely That I would return.

Below average service. A bit over priced for what your getting. I think you get a better value at other places.

BACON!BACON!BACON! I would give this place a 2-3 star but because of the bacon goodness they have they get a 4! Lucky you little bastards have good bacon otherwise I would never come back here :) Yes, I like bacon! After a morning of shooting (that's what you do in Puyallup) A friend and I were pretty hungry. I actually had a coupon for buy one get one free, so I figured no harm in trying it out. I generally stray away from cookie cutter joints like this. I hate pancakes, but like most other breakfast foods. I had the Irish Omelet, COMPLETE FAIL! Wow, this omelet was horrible. I think everything was whipped up and baked? Not like a frittata baked either. Horrible flavor and texture. The hash browns are not hash browns, they are home-fries, awesome home-fries I might add. My friend ordered the bacon, he loved it he made me have some, and I thank the Lord that I did. The bacon was out of this world. I sat there eating my poor excuse for an omelet lusting over the bacon goodness that my friend had. The bacon totally redeemed this place, like I said I would have never came back had it not been for the bacon. So based off my experience, come here and do not get an omelet, get the bacon and home-fries. P.S. Got our drinks messed up and they did not honor the buy one get one free, they only gave the second entree half off, they took too long to help me so I just paid it and left, pretty lame. P.P.S. I am not responsible if you get anything else other than what I recommended!

Wow. This place is amazing. The food is unreal, the happy hour from 6-8 is a great deal, and their tropical syrup is absolutely the best stuff I have ever had. People complaining about prices, well, don't know what to say. At least you are paying for really good food. The coffee is like silk, and the cream is ice cold. The pancakes are sweet as can be. We found our new breakfast joint for the weekend.

Awesome. This place is amazing. But as long as you come for the pancakes and eggs Benedict. Every thing else is so so. The best item on the menu. The bacon pancakes. Absolute to die for.

Was really hoping to love this place..... Unfortunately, it didn't even come close to meeting my expectations.I ordered the Dutch baby as soon as we got seated since it takes longer. It was disappointing, it was really doughy. Hubby ordered the bacon and white cheddar omelet - it was ok but was made in some weird omelet pan (the ourside was burned). The waiter was nice but obviously wanted to be somewhere else. The reason for the low rating - there was a black hair in hubby's omelet - YUCK.... also it was pretty pricey for breakfast ($30). Hubby did love the coffee but we won't be back.....

After driving by this place everyday on my way to work I decided to give it a try. The food was good, but not great, and definitely overpriced! For a little less than $8.00 I got one waffle the size of a salad plate with a sprinkling of bacon mixed in it. Service was wonderful and prompt. I never had to ask for my coffee to be refilled, and I was in and out in less than 45 minutes. Overall, I had a great experience, but due to the grossly overpriced menu I'm only giving this place 3 stars. After a month (02/23/12), I decided to give this place another try. Well, that was a mistake! This time, I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy with pancakes. The pancakes were amazing, light and fluffy with great flavor. The gravy had this wierd tangy powdery taste and texture, and the biscuits were dry and heavy. The breakfast also came with two eggs that I ordered to have the egg whites thoroughly cooked, however when I cut into them white liquid came pouring out (disgusting!!). The service was friendly, but not very attentive. I had to constantly ask for my coffee to be refilled. If it were busy I'd understand, but it was a slow Thursday morning. I think twice is enough of a chance to give one place. I won't be returning here.

The food is good, but too expensive is ridiculous and the cups they have for the coffee are bad because my coffee gets cold at the moment they put it at table. Service its really bad and the seats are very uncomfortable.

We have been here twice. The first time we went the pancakes were good so when a groupon came out for the Original Pancake House we jumped on it. The positives are that the service was fast and the coffee was good. The negatives are that it is over priced and that the pancakes tasted like rotten yeast. Both my husband and I had two different types of pancakes but they both had that rotten yeast base. We were actually worried we would get sick but luckily neither of us did. I still gave it two stars on the off chance it was just a bad day but I will not be back to find out.

This is a great place to eat breakfast. One time the service was on the slow side, but they were busy. The pancakes are great. The waffles are real good, but I prefer the Belgium style. I tried a couple of the egg dishes & I really liked them. This is a place that I would recommend people to go to.

Delicious food and the service is usually friendly and prompt. A few times we have had a long wait for our food, but that is not common. We tend to avoid the busiest times - like Sat or Sun breakfast rush or breakfast time on a school holiday. It can get quite mobbed at those times. My favorites are the Swedish Pancakes and the Apple Pancake. But they also have the best bacon I've ever eaten. The Cheddar and Bacon omelet is delicious. The coffee is strong and rich, but not bitter. I usually only drink lattes, but I love their brewed coffee. The only thing I am not too fond of it their potatoes. But that is not a problem because I can get pancakes with my omelet instead of potatoes. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than the other breakfast places in the area, but they offer buckwheat pancakes and Dutch Babies and lingonberry compote with the Swedish Pancakes. You can't get those things at the other places.

This is our third visit. we live very near here. The food... is fresh & good. The food is over priced. $25 for two people w/coffee. Our visit this am was the worst service and they were not busy, but most of the tables were occupied. 1st off, the wall partitions were very very dusty, impression... not a clean environment. 2nd was the greeter sat us, and then came back with water and a fork that was missing. Barely a good morning and did not ask if we wanted coffee. We waited approx 8-10 min for a waiter (manager?) to ask us if we wanted coffee and then he also wanted to take our order. he did that at the same time. As we waited, which you do wait... it is a reasonable time for the food.... the windows are dirty, smudged, more evidence of lack of cleaning. My opinion is that I expect a higher level of service and clean surroundings for the the price of this food. The restaurant is basic settings.. not too elaborate to keep windows, tables and wall partitions dust free and clean. My egg omelet, sharp cheddar & bacon was undercooked at delivery, and when i mentioned it, I was told that it was the cheese and was supposed to be that way..... Ahh, not. Runny cheese has a greasy look to it. Runny egg whites are just that runny, and semi clear/white. So not too excited about being told what something is, that I know differently. Especially since our water appeared to be the manager. needless to say, $25, and no tip, and really if this place does not clean-up their act....I see a limited lifetime. Too bad too, because we could use the food, and employment in this area.

Sheila & I visited on the 4th of July. Hands down the very best breakfast I have ever had!! Excellent coffee, food and great service! It is a very old fashioned restaurant. For those that know me you know how much I love coconut!!! Let me just say...COCONUT Pancakes!!! Thick sliced bacon. So yummy. Well worth the trip!!!

  • Bobbie S.

I know the three places are kind of a drive but it is so worth it! I have never had such light and fluffy omelets!!! and the pancakes are surprisingly light too. Makes very easy to finish off the plate. The wait staff is also very fourfold and on top of it. If you've never been, you've got to check it out! At least have the green chile and pulled pork omelet!

If I were rating the wait times or the prices, I'd probably give a lower rating, but I'm rating the food, and this is a place where it's virtually impossible to go wrong. Everything they do tastes great. I've had various types of pancakes with unique syrups, french toast, the calorie busting apple pancake, their fresh berries with homemade cream, and I even love the plain old scrambled eggs. I don't know if it's some special high grade butter, but their eggs are done perfectly. Expect to pay a tab about 40% higher than Ihop, but this is not a glorified fast food restaurant like Ihop is. If you can deal with a wait and a higher than average bill for breakfast, you will not be disappointed in the food.

The food has always been good the few times we have eaten here. Their service tends to be a little slow. If you are crunched for time, this is not the best place to eat.

  • Nicole G.

This place was just okay. Like a lot of other people said, it's a little expensive. I got the Baby Dutch pancake and it was falling when I got it. It was really thin and had the texture or an egg. My friend, who had dined here before, also got a Dutch pancake and said that it was a disappointment compared to the one she got last time. Everything else for the most part was fine. The place looked nice, our waitresses were fast, and the food didn't take long to cook. So overall, this place is okay. Whether or not your food will be good just depends who's in the kitchen I guess; so hope your lucky.

Chocolate chip pancakes are yummy, of course I helped with my grandbabies. But the bacon is real good quality which she ate mine so it was a fair trade. Have been there several times and never dissappointed. Prices are a little higher than most breakfast places, but the guality of hot food is so worth it and the portion size is very large.

I'm surprised at how many people complain about the prices ! i mean cmon what did u want to pay for Good food 2 $? stay home and eat!!!! lol I love this place, unlike these people who reviewed this place i look for a good place to eat thats clean, and i'm picky and i've never had a problem here !!ever, my food was always good, hot .... the reason omlet is so fluffy is because they use real eggs and bake it unlike other shitty places use substitute eggs, the hashbrown are my fav you know why? because its fresh potatoes not those shredded frozen shit hashbrown they offer at dennys, i'm not saying this place is the best because ive eaten at better places for breakfast but i also paid alot more for it.....that's why i learned sometimes to go try the place for myself and not base my descision on reviews only because people are cheap and want cheap food and when they arent amazed by the food they leave bad review....i bet you anything everyone loved their food is when they see their check they start fluffing their wings and pick on shit!!!!.... agh irritating. I highly recomment OPH.

Wife and I were really for some good breakfast after a doctor appointment, decided to check this place out. A lot of people waiting for a table but the line did move fast. Our server was semi friendly, coffee was refilled fast. Nothing too exciting or noteworthy in this area. Our food came out after a pretty long wait. I had the Irish omelet and my wife had the biscuits and gravy. The Irish omelet was not good in my opinion. Strangely fluffy and lacking any flavor. Very odd texture. The biscuits and gravy were generic run of the mill. Then to top it off there was a staple in them. The server did offer a new plate though and in the end did comp 50% of her breakfast. Overall was not impressed with this place. Odds are we will never be back but if we do we're gonna stick to pancakes.

I cant believe i never knew about this place before! This place beats out all the breakfast places on South Hill that I have tried. I wanted to try everything on the menu, as all the choices sounded very tasty and creative. I ordered the coconut pancakes with tropical syrup and it was great as well as the huge portions. The waitstaff was also excellent and friendly. Forget about IHOP, Denny's, and Shari's. This is my new breakfast place hands down.

Our Family has eaten here several times. If you love bacon, this is bacon nirvana with large, thick slices. Pancakes and waffles are good. Eggs and hashbrowns were done to perfection. It's a little spendy (the reason for 4 stars), but the portions are generous.

GOOD BUT PRICEY! My husband and I went here for the first time. The staff are pleasant and the food we ordered was yummy. It wasn't crowded so the food came pretty fast. The quality of the food was good also. My only gripe is the cost! I had one crepe with a side of sausage and my husband had a bacon, egg, and has brown plate. It nearly $30, not including drinks! Well, at least the food didn't suck!

My girlfriend introduced and started taking me here in late 2012 and we've been coming every few weeks or so. I've gotten the pigs in a blanket (three pancake wrapped bacon), the honey waffles, as well as their pancakes with fresh strawberries and sweet butter cream. This place is great for large groups, accommodates kids, and is even good for just couples who are looking to have breakfast at any time of the day.

Came in for the first time 7 days ago after a friend recommended it. My Mom, Aunt, and I had a good meal, good service and thought we could easily become regulars. 2 days later I came back with my daughter, again we had good food and good service. Then 2 days after that I came in again, this time with my daughter, 2 cousins, my nephew and a friend (6 of us). We made a special trip out there because of my positive experiences before. We passed up on several other restaurants that I frequent. This time we had a waiter who was new, his name was Isaac. He was very polite, and was working his tail off. There were only 7 tables including us that i could see. There looked to be only 1 other waiter there, and 3 people bussing and cleaning stuff around the restaurant . As soon as we sat down I ordered my daughter the pancakes she had two days before (explaining that she's a slow eater), 20 minutes later we got her pancakes COLD. Then after waiting about 35 minutes for our food to come, we started noticing that people around us who had come after us were eating already. Refills during this time were also not happening. My daughter didn't get any butter or syrup with her cold cakes either. When we commented about it loudly in front of the busser who was bussing the table next to us, he just pretended not to hear and kept clearing the table. We looked at the food window which was packed with food, I walked over to the serving station, and a cook saw me and said loudly that "someone needed to get this food out the window". My waiter was at the computer trying to do something with the help of another worker (which I totally understand) but the other waiter (named Chris) was putting together a plate for his table and copped attitude with the cook. So, I said loudly as I came up that I really hope my food would be warm when it got to the table because my daughters wasn't. Chris informed me that they were "short staffed" and they would get it out as soon as possible. Sure enough the food was COLD. We were the only large group in the restaurant, the other 6 table consisted of 2 toppers, a single, and a couple with a toddler. The seasoned waiter had NO groups, his tables had all been served hot food, and did not seem interested in helping the new guy. There were 3 people busy wiping empty tables, cleaning windows, and other "busy work" while our food sat getting cold. The cooks cooked great food, and by the temperature I assume they cooked it quickly because it was COLD, NOT WARM COOOOLDDDDD when we got it.Our waiter was apologetic, Chris was not. There was NO team work, there was NO sense of urgency, NO customer service. We asked to speak to a manager, but were informed that there wasn't one on site. We had to pay full price for our cold food, (they did warm up the cold eggs tho) the $12 chicken fried steak was still cold tho. The food had great flavor, so kudos to the cooks. Kudos to Isaac for trying so hard, but Chris and the rest of the staff that had a " not my table, not my problem" attitude need to realize that every customer that comes in IS THEIR CUSTOMER, I was not Isaac's customer I was an O.P.H. customer, 3 days in one week, and I think that last time may be the LAST time.

Ive gone here 3 times now & I am done going there completly. We need an Ihop in Puyallup or someone else that serves breakfast. There food is completly overpriced, service is bad. Each time we have gone its been during the week around 8 am. We should of known it was bad by the number of people eatting in the restraunt usually only a few each time. Coffee is $2.50 for a small coffee cup, really? Different types of pancakes around $9.00 they come with nothing just alone. I got excited when I saw crepes. I ordered crepes here is the exact description : Three delicate crepes filled with strawberries, topped with hot tropical syrup and lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Well what I got is 3 basic crepes filled with strawberry jam, I could of made those at home for a $1.50. The kids meals are $6.00 they basically get 3 dollar size pancakes with a choice of only 1 of these 3 things egg, 1 sausage, or 1 bacon. RIDICULOUS! We could of gone else where and had all that on a plate for $4. My family or any of the people we have gone there with will not ever be returning. Everyone left complaining this place is ridiculous and overpriced for what you get.

I used to live down the street from the ORIGINAL original Pancake House in Portland, Or. NOTHING compares to that place - the menu here is the same but something intangible isnt... maybe its the fake wood paneling in the strip-mall feel or the lack of that great sound of the original (clanging silverware and loud conversations) in portland that im missing. BUT that being said I couldnt be happier to even have a close approximation of said Original Pancake House just down my street. I have been there nearly every weekend since they opened and the quality of food and service has varied greatly from one day to the next. The sausage only once has to my tastes been the actual sausage from Zenners in portland... The rest of the times i have had it it was edible but definatley not the same grind and seasoning as im used to. The Apple Pancake is like half breakfast, half dessert. It has been spot on once out of 3 times ordering it. The Potato Pancakes (my favorite of all time) have been about 50/50 too, one time they were barley recognizable brown grease slicks. Why do i keep coming back? Why did i give it 4 stars with so much criticism? First: there is NO GOOD PLACE to eat breakfast within 70 miles (Seattle OPC) Second: its just growing pains - this place is instantly popular with a 20-45 min wait on the weekends, and the waitstaff and kitchen people are learning and it seems to generally be getting better every time i go. Seattle OPC was bad the first two times i went to it and is pretty close to Portland now years later. The location here in Puyallup will be no different. The management of the franchises (50 some now) is keen on quality control from what i gather and does regular retraining of the chefs. They need to get some benches outside for people to sit because their inside waiting area is somewhat lacking. See you this weekend! Come early and beat the line, but not too late either cause it closes at 2!

The staff was extremely friendly. In fact, the owner came out to meet our group, welcomed us, and even gave us a Doughboy on the house. Also, the pancakes were awesome! (one would hope, right?) However, the owner coming out to greet us and the friendly staff was really the only thing that would make me even consider returning. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with an overwhelming odor (like spoiled eggs). I noticed it, but didn't say anything until 2 other members in our group pointed it out. There was a customer making a scene because her "food was cold" and a staff member kept saying "no way. No way." Whether it was or not, don't keep saying "no way". The menu offered a lot of pancakes and a few other breakfast selections, but don't go there hungry - you'll need to order twice. The servings were small and overpriced for the product (upwards of $8.50 for pancakes and 2 eggs). If it wasn't for the extra food the owner brought out, I would have left hungry and disappointed. The overall atmosphere was light on decorations and obviously designed to look like an original, southern road-side pancake house; except it lacked the charm and authenticity. It looked like a sad attempt to *look like* an original pancake house. Overall: Not really impressed. The staff (and owner) and the food were great. But not enough to outweigh the slight portions, high price, and god-awful smell.

Anyone know when these guys are open? Not sure if they know either. Rarely open,..and have wierd days and hours,..never a soul in there, I swear its a front for the mob because they can't possibly make any money. Went there one time, Saturday morning, about 3 months after they opened. They serve fairly generic breakfast fair. Anything you can get at ihop or denny's. After taking about 15 minutes to make it to our table, our server took our order, then proceeded to take another 15 minutes to get us ice water and coffee. After that,...we must have come close to approaching the speed of light while the kitchen and wait staff reached a near motionless rate of speed. I know this sounds unlikely, but there is no other scientific explanation for the inhuman amount of time we spent waiting for our food. It says on their menu,..worth the wait,..made fresh from scratch,... yada yada,..and the server who visited our table bi-hourly re-enforced this idea by repeating it over and over. No exageration,..we waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food. We complained to the server the 3 times that she bothered to saunter over to our table and grace us with her presence. She said this is the way it is, you can't rush amazing,..and so forth. Unfortunately, when the food did arrive, there was nothing on the plate that would challenge a box of bisquick and package of jimmy deans. In a word, lame. In three words,... pancake, epic, FAIL!

Maybe I just like this place so much because I went in with low expectations (i.e. IHOP). BUT IT IS DELICIOUS! From what I've gathered, everything they serve is made from scratch in the kitchen, and I LOVE that! I believe that on the menu it warns that it can take a while to prepare some things. So if you don't have much time, I would suggest either coming back when you do, or asking what you would be able to get fast! They seem pretty accommodating. The staff is nice and the place has a cute atmosphere. We, however, are not morning people, so we don't get the chance to drop by too often. They are also a little out of our price range, but SO good. If they could stay open later and find a way to lower their prices a little, they would easily get a 5 star rating from me!

I fail to understand how this place remains open. Extremely slow service, when you finally get someone's attention that is... We sat for 45 minutes before a waitress even looked at us. No silverware on the table. We finally ordered our food and I selected 'German' pancakes. Our food took forever to get there and still no silverware! Our 'waitress' said she would get some and we never saw her again!!! I finally went up to the counter to complain and they managed to scrounge up some silverware. Meanwhile the so-called 'German' pancakes were NOT. They were Swedish pancakes!!! I also complained about this and said there must have been a mix up. "No", I was told, "These are the German pancakes". I told them that German pancakes are made from a mixture of flour, egg, parsley, onion, and potato, and Swedish are very thin, almost crepe-like with NO POTATO! Which is exactly what I had! "Nope, these are German pancakes, our chef said so!" Obviously their chef has never experienced any world cuisine outside of a Betty Crocker Cookbook! So, I ate my bland Swedish pancakes and was very disappointed. We had to finally go up to the counter to have them search for our bill so we could pay for our overpriced swill and leave! I say again, how is this place still open???

Possibly I'm biased, as this place is right around the corner from us, AND we've needed a decent Pancake/Breakfast location on South Hill for all the years I've lived here.... BUT, the food selection, service and quality are exceptional. As others have commented, there's a few "bumps" to smooth out as staff seem very inexperienced and young, but everyone is enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. Our food arrived hot, tasty and exactly as ordered. As a single Mom on a limited budget, I don't get out to eat that often, when I do, I want it to be worth my time and money. This place definitely is worth returning to, and recommending to family and friends as well.

I was there once with my brother, Mom, and 2 kids. The service was s l o w. And not very friendly. Our server was very rushed and when the order was delivered piece meal (adults got food, none for the kids for another 15 minutes) we got no explanation at all until the additional food arrived 15 minutes later. They are extremely overpriced. Additionally everything is a la carte so don't even think about getting a piece of sausage with your $20 breakfast pancake. I would always choose Elmer's on Hosmer over this place!

I have gone to many places around Puyallup for breakfast. This is a place where you get your monies worth. Great bacon; they do the eggs just how I like them; and they do have pretty good pancakes. The food is always fresh and you can taste it. There is usually a wait but we always get seated within 10 minutes. The wait staff is pretty attentive and the place is always clean. Sometime I just don't want to drive to Seattle... so The Original Pancake House is a good substitute.

We come here all the time! its such a great place to have in your neighborhood! Breakfast all day long! Everything that they make is so fresh. When we first came here i had to ask if the corn beef is fresh or from a can. They said that all the items is made fresh everyday and that they don't have a freezer!! Great even better! Everything on the menu is awesome! My favorite is the dutch baby!! Its a very light pancake that is baked in the oven, served with lemons and powdered sugar! Almost like a gigantic popover. The corn beef hash is so good! I can never finish it because everything that you order comes with a choice of pancakes or hash brown. My husband likes to eat their eggs benedicts. The only thing i would say about the eggs benedicts is to ask for them to toast your egg mcmuffins. Taste so much better this way! The breakfast sausage is killer! What more can i say! I love this place!!

When comparing this pancake house to the one in Kirkland -- there is no comparison!! We waited about 10 minutes before we got coffee and water and another 10 -15 minutes to order. We didn't get our meal until 45 minutes after we ordered. There appears to be a lack of organization in the wait and bus staff. Some of them moved in slow motion. There were tables that needed clearing, customers waiting to order and be seated. We did see a couple leave after waiting for quite awhile. They need a manager there to run the restaurant. I'm sure one had to be around but he or she was not very visible. The food was OK but the wait cancels that out. We will never go there again - rather drive to Kirkland were the workers are organized, courteous and super efficient! We were only a party of 3.

I really wanted to order the Apple Pancake, but it takes a while and there was a possibility it could take up to an hour because of how many people were there. So, if you want Apple Pancake or DutchBaby, be prepared to wait a while. We went to OPH this morning with the kids for a Valentine's breakfast. The wait was about 1/2 hour (we arrived around 11:30 on a Sunday, so I'm not surprised) and we had 5 of us. I had an idea of what I wanted to have from reading other reviews, but nothing prepared me for the variety on the menu! I was a little overwhelmed at all the choices at first, but we managed to settle on a few choices before we were seated. We decided to share, and ordered the Apple Crepe (YUMMY!), Irish Omelette (filling and tasty), Chocolate Chip Pancakes (1/2 order), and 3 Little Pigs in Blankets. WOW! Between the 5 of us, we shared and ate EVERYTHING and waddled out of there very happy. Our server was sweet and attentive and we plan to go back just so we can try other things on the menu. Go here if you want breakfast the way it should be prepared!

Ok, to be fair, once you eat it's ok, but to get there and the surroundings, nah, it's just not worth it. The wait at this place is always long on the weekends. The place it small and honestly, their decor is just lacking. There are a ton of employees but nothing seems to move faster. But I digress, let me start from the bottom up. After finally being seated it took us forever to get service. We, being my husband, two kids, mother in law and myself, had to wait to even place a drink order. Don't even try and go there wanting coffee now and lots. You get a tiny cup and refills are soooooooooo slow. One if the employees should be on coffee duty, constantly refilling customers cups. But that ain't so and waiting for a meager refill makes me grumpy. Then the prices. Way too overpriced in my humble opinion, ridiculous for what you get and the wait. I do like to eat their corn hash on occasion and it tastes good but all in all, my kids' food (pancakes) and MiL's was just so. O mean 3 bucks or so for an egg??? No, we tried this joint a couple of times wanting to love it but we finally had it with it. We are not going back because as stated it's overpriced, overcrowded, slow and just mediocre in taste. This place is only hoppin' because of the lack of Denny's or Ihop around, in fact, I will rather drive out to my fave Ihop in Olympia, where I get a piping hot breakfast the way I want it, great coffee out of the wazoo, friendly service and don't pay myself silly for almost nothing.

I've been there 4 times. The bacon was good. Breakfasts without pancakes were not good. The Hanger Inn has better breakfasts. This used to be a video rental store and the coldness of the decor attests to that. Feels like a cafeteria.

Went here to have a late breakfast on Saturday. Seating was fast and service was pretty good, but the food not so much. I ordered the cheese and bacon omelet with buttermilk pancakes. My two companions ordered the corned beef hash with Hawaiian pancakes and french toast. My omelet did not look like a traditional omelet and tasted weird. The pancakes had an odd taste and the syrup was pretty bland. My two buddies finished their corned beef hash, (because they are guys), but complained the whole time how gross it was. They also complained about the pancakes and french toast. I have had other people recommend this place to me, but I rather go to Denny's or IHOP, to eat halfway decent breakfast food for cheap, than eat here. The food is gross and pretty expensive for what you get. My omelet with 3 pancakes was $11.00!

After fighting all of the traffic on Meridian to get to Kohl's we decided to stop in for a late breakfast. The place was very busy and we were very hungry. The young man who greeted us was extremely pleasant and very professional. We both ordered the ham and eggs. Be VERY careful to READ the menu. With the entree' come ONLY one of the following: pancakes, hashbrown or toast. We didn't see that in the fine print so we ordered both the potatoes and toast. Didn't realize it until the bill arrived. Would you believe $2.29 for one english muffin.. What a rip off. Will never be going there again. $30 including tip for two for breakfast is a little steep!!

We finally got around to using our Groupon before it expired. I was reluctant to go in on a Sunday because I didn't want to wait too long, but we was very happy and surprised to be seated right away. We ordered the apple pancakes and we were informed it would take 25 minutes. The food came out and it was in the time frame they indicated. Please don't order the apple pancakes if you don't want to be the center of attention, it is very unique looking and draws a lot of attention. :) It tasted absolutely wonderful. I ordered some bacon to go with it and it was incredible too. My kids got the blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes and they loved them. My hubby got an omelet and he thought it was really good. He ate a lot of the apple pancake too and was impressed. My only complaint would be that my coffee cup was dry for a bit too long at times during our wait for the pancake, but I'm being picky. We plan to return again soon.

These are all franchised owned. I've eaten at 4 of them. All of them have the same basic menu, and the food is all very good. This time out, I had the corned-beef hash. Nice chunks of corned beef with 2 eggs and 3 pancakes. More than I could put away in one sitting. It's a bit of a drive out to this one, and I drive past a bunch of other breakfast places, but it's so worth it.

Though I have not been to the original... this is an awesome place! So many choices and the bacon was so yummy! Lovely place. I would recommend it whole heartedly to everyone!

Didn't have the best experience. Ordered eggs Benedict, granted it was hot. But the overall taste was nasty, and I left sick. Then again, i ordered eggs and not pancakes, if they can't prepare both then maybe it should be taken off the menu. Good menu selection.

I've tried this place three times just to make sure.... It's horrible. The food is bland, generally overcooked and overpriced. Today the wait was minimal for a Saturday, but from the time we ordered it took one hour to get our food! The food was simply an omelette and pancakes on my side, pancakes, eggs, and ham for my girlfriend. How long it takes them for a simple order is unbearable. Then the omelette came out burnt cheese on the outside, rock hard, with barely any filling. Nothing like the way the "Irish Omelette " was described on the menu. The pancakes are "OK" but nothing special, same as the other breakfast chains. I live probably five minutes from this place but I promise I will never eat at this abysmal "restaurant" again.
