Acceptable food, fantastic location, weak service, and completely outrageous prices. This little restaurant is perched on the cliff above the Orcas Island ferry terminal, and as such, probably catches a third of the ferry-bound traffic (the hungry ones at least). We had a burger, clam strips, and their fried-stuff plate (mozzarella sticks, onion rings, curly fries). The burger was average; nicer than average bun, bacon a bit weak, non-Heinz (Sysco) ketchup only. Bummer. The clam strips were the stand out. Big pieces of real clam with a delicately seasoned breading allowed the flavors to come through. The onion rings were good, the mozzarella sticks were mediocre, and the curly fries... well, I like them OK, but why do they insist on that orange seasoning? This plate was also strange. You'd think they'd give you ranch for the fries/onion rings, and marinara for the mozzarella sticks, right? Well, it was COCKTAIL SAUCE, and that is an ugly surprise if you're looking for marinara on your cheese! Soda was $2, the burger was $11, the clam strips were $13 and the fried stuff, $9... $36.99 plus tax and tip total. Outrageous! I think we could actually eat at the airport for less. At least the food didn't suck.

The owners are kind, & everything you need is here. This is a low key island & our cottage is awesome. I stay in the Four Seasons , & it is not . But don't forget where you are! Not the best , but has all amenities! Picture perfect view s. Who stays in their room all day! I can't complain! Thank you!

Pricing was ridiculous for the quality of food served. The restaurant was dirty and infested with bees (inside the dinning area!), dead and alive. We had the calamari ($13.99) which was greasy, tough and smelled fishy and fries (add $2.99), cod burger ($9.99) which consisted of two small fish pieces put in between buns with not so fresh looking lettuce and onions and fries (add $2.99). Word of advice, don't come here just because the line is shorter, there's a reason why it's short..

If I could rate the little cottages, I'd give 5 stars for the views and how cute they are. So perfect for a little island get away. I thought the food too pricey, but still went there to eat while waiting to catch the ferry after a great weekend. That would have been 3 stars, but what came after brings it down to one. I had the best kayak tour and told the owner so, when she then accused me of leaving the cottage I stayed in, of smelling like pot, right at the cafe counter in front of other customers. How shocking and humiliating to hear since I don't smoke anything and certainly wouldn't smoke in any motel room or building. I was the last to leave the room, and thought it was left all cleaned up and didn't smell anything odd. The maids had came in cleaned, then let in the new people early. Apparently the new tenants complained about a pot smell. Most peculiar that it wasn't the maids. Maybe it was a scam to get the bill reduced? So a long awaited and expensive trip, had a very bad ending, and for what! After that, I waited for the ferry, overlooking a beautiful view, that went totally un-enjoyed as I sat in a terrible funk from being humiliated by the cafe and cottage owner. I'll never go back, ever!

Ugh, we only stayed because we were short on time for the ferry, and we had promised our kids we'd eat a real meal before getting on the ferry. Enzo's (??) used to be right next to the ferry and they had decent food at a reasonable touristy location price. The Boardwalk apparently has a near monopoly. Hundreds of trapped people, waiting for the ferry, looking for a decent bite, and they get this: Sysco food all the way, at organic gourmet prices. Our bill for two orders of dinky fish-and-chips, two white bread kid's grilled cheese, and two cups of thin "clam chowder" (milk with herbs and potatoes) came to $55. We didn't even get drinks, just water straight from the tap -- in styrofoam cups! Is it 1982? Styrofoam litters our ocean beaches. The fish was small, the condiments come in packets, except the ketchup which is in Heinz bottles but is almost certainly something else. In short, this place was a total loss. If you must buy food before boarding the ferry, go to the little grocery market next door. Otherwise, eat in Eastsound -- it's only 20 minutes away.
