This place is amazing! Excellent service on my first visit and exquisite sushi with a wide variety of unique choices. Price was steep but the service made up for it. Full bar and clean environment also stood out to me. Hard to find a top notch sushi place in my area. Suggest this spot for any sushi lover!

Came back cause remember having pretty good rolls and great sashimi BUT was I wrong. Place is about 20% full around 6PM on Sunday got table right away. First time had sashimi combos and remember having fresh and thick cut sashimi pieces: ordered Sashimi dinner plate, Salmon Kama - appetizer, Dragon Roll, Kirin beer. Sashimi - DISAPPOINTMENT very thin sliced sashimi pieces for $29.00 Dragon roll - nothing special, would not recommend Salmon Kama - they forgot to bring out or even make it Maybe they got new owners, if so please make the food better!!! We will not be back

My husband and I came here for lunch one day and didn't realize they were closing in 15 minutes. The lady was so nice and didn't rush us at all. :) We ordered the Carmen roll and the Charisma roll and it was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised. Moreover, the miso soup was unlimited! o.O Say whaaat? I know right? Best. Thing. EVER. I will definitely be back to try some of the other rolls. Side notes: 1. Parking is not an issue. 2. It would be a great location to have an event because it looked like there was a private room in the restaurant. :)

Very original menu, including some of the standards the folks in the Seattle area are used to seeing. More importantly, they offer a number of combo rolls that are definitely worth exploring. I've been to many of the popular north Seattle spots for sushi (except the conveyor belt offerings - just cannot get into it). There are many I continue to go to again and again. But let's just say O2 is my new love. The staff is warm and welcoming. If you need the places you dine at to behave as if royalty just graced the location; a chill pill may be required. Don't misread me. They're gracious and polite in the extreme. They remember their clients and treat them like guests in their home. Honestly, I dunno how they manage recall so many clients - but I suppose fish being brain food has something to do with it. The vibe is more of a "it's so good to see you again, can I get you your Sapporo while you check the menu?" Chef sometimes visits the tables to answer questions and make sure everything is just right, if the pace allows him. I haven't sat at the bar yet. But I need to next time. Everyone is always smiling and laughing between drinks and enjoying great tastes from the sea. They also have a few private dining rooms on one side that offer a great alternative to the routine birthday party or "after the game" gathering. It certainly beats pizza or burgers (this is a not so thinly veiled hint to my friends... Wink!) NB: I should really get details on the private rooms (and potential catering services) as well as experience sushi at the chef's bar to give a rating of the complete experience at O2 Sushi. No worries. I'll do an update once I visit again... which will be SOON!

The store is located in a small plaza. We missed twice actually before we found it. The staff is friendly speaking english, chinese and korean. Ordered Sashimi luncj, chirashi bowl and mixed tempura. Fish quality is only so so. It's a nice place for weekday lunch.

This place definitely satisfied my Sushi craving while I was visiting Washington. Came in a group of 8 people and we were seated right away at around 1:00pm. The cute little asian lady was super nice and helped us. She kept complimenting me because I did not look like I was from Washington but I look like a Californian girl! Didn't know I did! Anyways, all the rolls that we ordered was super great! The best part about this place was not the food but the BATHROOM! OMG I have never seen anything like it! When you ask where the bathroom is, the lady says, "ENJOY!" I had no idea what that meant until I sat on the awesome toilet ! Be sure to check it out! Use the remote control ;) NOTE: -Check in to get a discount (10% off i think , or is it 15% off) either way, you save money! (ON ROLLS only!)

I go to O2 almost every week it's the best sushi restaurant i have been to in this area! The fish is really fresh and huge portions at least in the nigiri. The menu is also really large especially the specialty sushi roll selection. Theres like five pages of different rolls all at reasonable prices. The service is fast and waiters are attentive and pleasant. Also O2 is never crowded, in fact often it seems like theres only one or two other patrons when i go there. I especially recommend the deep fried ice cream! Its not on the menu though. My only complaint is they arent open on Mondays and I'm yet to find a close second for sushi at that price. also forgot to mention: by far nicest restaurant bathroom ive ever been in

Great Sushi, friendly staff. We enjoy bringing the family here on a regular basis. The food is consistently good. The bento boxes are a great value, and the rolls are tasty.

Service was okay that the waiteress kept telling me how many pieces of sushi i get. But beware of there check. The price is different from their menu. i ordered two rolls and 4 orders of sushi. The price for salmon sushi on the menu was 5 and on the check it was 5.50. For salmon toro its 6 on the menu and on the check its 7. I didnt look at other orders but didnt confirm that it was right. U told the lady on the front that it is wrong and the sushi man told us. " oh we havent change the menu, yet" That was it. I mean they were still charging us more. I worked as a server for 6 years and worked with management at a restaurant for 5 years. I never complain about anything but this is unacceptable. I wont mind if the price was high but feel like many people are charged more than they expect. Getting ripped off. I just feel bad for the server because she only got 10% instead of 20% i was going to give. It was my first time here and i will never be back again.

My first visit here was a few days ago. I ordered a miso ramen and tbh I think it's a bit overpriced. I got a better one at Bellevue for a cheaper price, so not my number one place to get ramen. But I tried a bit from my mom's bento and for around $20 it's actually really not that bad. The portion is big and it's simply satisfying ~ Anyways the customer service is good. The waitress was really friendly but it shouldn't take over ten minutes to fetch a spicy mayo (unless they ran out of it and had to quickly make a new batch). The place is family friendly and clean. I really liked the atmosphere. Will definitely revisit but never order a ramen from here again xD

I'm not completely sure what I enjoyed more at O2 Sushi, the service or the food. I've been to many sushi establishments throughout the Pacific Northwest & I can't deny that this was the best. The complexity and depth of the menu. The presentation of the dishes. The prompt, friendly, and courteous nature of the staff. Don't overlook this place because of the location. I'm coming back, and I'll be bringing my wife with me next time.

I've been to O2 three times. Each time it's been a pleasant experience. The sushi is fresh, you get a A LOT of extras with your order (salad, miso soup, edamame) and their interpretations of standard maki rolls are very good. I was there for lunch on Valentine's Day with my fiance and the sushi chef arranged our rolls in the shape of a heart!

The best sushi I have ever tried!! CLEAN place to eat! Super DELICIOUS food!!! The service was excellent and fast. The establishment was very clean even the restroom was very clean. Everyone were very friendly and a great atmosphere all the way around. You should definitely try the Japanese beer! Enjoy!

Just a few tips: 1. Happy hour doesn't apply on Sunday's. It doesn't say on the menu but they probably didn't count. 2. They don't accept the yelp coupon code anymore. You can try ask but they just don't. Overall, the food and service is good. Prices are steep and they don't know how to update content but it's whatever. Just remember my tips and you should be fine.

3 stars for now because I have only been here once. Went in at HH pretty good price and selection. This was my first time getting a chirashi bowl ($20) And it was really good! I guess they remodeled and I don't know what it looked like before but I like the way it looks now. Nice sealed concrete flooring, a big T.v. against the back wall. Staff is friendly especially one particular sushi chef who said hi to everyone and asked if they were happy with everything! My go to place is Hanami and even though it feels like cheating I see myself coming back in the future to try other stuff.

Good is great, chefs are funny and interactive. BUT the old Asian lady who seats everyone and takes orders is a bitch. She made us feel like it was a hassle asking for sauce. My friends from cali didn't tip because of her and as we walked out she ran out and said " tip! Tip! You forgot to tip!" What the hell. We are never going there agian.

EDIT: 5 stars!!! I LOVE this place. Peter, the chef, is so amazing, skilled & a great conversationalist. Love the selections of the rolls but the Ai remains my favorite. HUGE menu of creative rolls & many other items. I wish they would organize the rolls better (maybe by filling) because we had a hard time keeping track of what we wanted (as in, we didn't want to only get tempura shrimp filling). We tried a few things that were all delicious - the samurai was great but the Ai was my FAVORITE. They slice tiny pieces of lemon (no rind) on top. DELISH! We sat at the bar & the sushi chefs were very friendly & outgoing. They balanced giving us our personal time vs being very entertaining & chatty. They were very friendly. At first I was nervous about sitting at the bar but it was a delightful experience! (Originally gave 4 stars b/c The rice was a little dry & not as sweet/slightly-vinegary as I prefer my rice to be.) For less than $50 (incl tip) we got 4 rolls, a large sake & a complementary miso/edamame.

Never again. "Can I get you something to drink?" I said, "Sure, how about a diet coke and some water?" She looks at my husband and he says, "The same thing please." So she comes with a water for me, and a diet coke for my husband. I figure, OK, screw it, water is fine. The older woman there, who was clearing dishes on the table next to us, asks, "Are you ready to order? (not even looking at us or acknowledging it after I said yes). After several minutes of waiting, the waitress finally appears. UsI show her my Groupon, and we order what is allowed. The older woman comes back and sees the Groupon voucher sitting on the table. "Oh a Groupon, give me that.", she says. She snatched off the table and walks away. An Asian family comes over and is seated next to us. They get their drinks, and no one came to their table after that. The mother stands up and calls over the older lady. She is speaking in an Asian language so I couldn't understand but I could understand that she was angry by her tone of voice. Twenty five minutes later, our sushi appears. Very bland and falls apart easily. While serving the sushi, the waitress finally remembered my soda! She comes back with it. We eat the rest of the sushi and leave. What a mess! Before the owner change things were very different.

we all agreed that a multi-birthday celebration required ordering the omakase dinner for the three of us. chef peter's omakases are creative and a great value. what impressed me the most was that chef peter remembered some of my favorite dishes and incorporated them into the birthday omakase dinner. yes, i am a frequent customer here but i was totally impressed that chef peter took note of some of my favorites. that is the sign of a truly professional sushi chef. omakas dinner: highly recommended.

Went in here with a friend last week as we where trying to find a late night sushi fix. Saw the good reviews here and decided to check it out. Started off great, sat at bar and talked with the chefs. We had the 50 piece assortment and a few rolls. All very good and fresh! What bothered me was the constant "order more, order more" pressure put on by the staff. I felt like I was at a used car lot. What topped it off was the chef offered a "special roll" just for us. We thought how cool! I asked, what's in this special roll? Chef, "Oh don't worry, really good... just for you" with a big smile. What was in this special roll? Nothing! Deep fried rice roll with layers of sauce on it. My friend and I thought WTF is this?? I hope this isn't on the bill! Umm yea it sure was. $15 for this special roll. Too bad as it was all good up till that crap they pulled. Not cool!

Today was the first revisit since O2 changed ownership. I wish the new owners the very best and success. I do miss the previous staff, who were always eager to extend warm hospitality. I'm willing to give the new folks a chance as they continue with the full service menu however I do thinks there may have been some menu item name changes.

So after driving around aimlessly with a hungry bf with a picky appetite we ended up here. O2 Sushi had been in my bookmarks for quite awhile so I was excited to go. We strolled on in around 7 o'clock on a Tuesday and it wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and immaculately clean...even the bathrooms are pretty. The decor was very classy and matched the theme of the restaurant. The restaurant screams traditional Japanese, they even have those Japanese toilets in the bathrooms. Good ambiance too.. Intimate, warm... It's always a good sign when you walk into a Sushi restaurant and all you hear is people speaking Japanese. Our server was friendly, efficient and very informative. I noticed that it was only her and another lady serving the whole room but they did a pretty good job. After seating us she brought us menus and ice water. The menu here is extremely impressive. Pages and pages of everything you could possibly want in Japanese Cuisine. Sushi, Sashimi, Udon, Ramen, Tempura, the list goes on and on. It took us forever to decide, I wanted to order everything. I went with the Sashimi Dinner. My bf had: Unagi Nigiri, a 18601 Roll, and the Philly Roll. After ordering, our server brought out complimentary miso soup and salad. Both were tasty but pretty standard. Next she brought out the Unagi Nigiri, which was pretty delicious. It was very fresh and had a nice crispness to it. She than brought out the rolls and my Sashimi Dinner. The Philly Roll consisted of salmon, cream cheese, and avocado. It was pretty awesome. You could taste every component and they went very well together. The 18601 Roll was okay.. it was a little bland and the flavor combo wasn't spectacular. This consisted of spicy tuna, salmon and fried onion straws. My Sashimi Dinner came with 4 pieces each of Fatty Salmon, Tuna, Hamachi, and Super White sashimi. Spicy Tuna, Crab salad, Seaweed, Sushi Rice, Tempura and some assorted pickles. It was good for the most part. The tempura was tasty and so was the crab salad. I really liked the Spicy Tuna and ate it with the rice and seaweed. The Fatty Salmon was amazing...fresh and fatty just how I like it, it melted in my mouth. The Hamachi also melted in your mouth and tasted of the ocean.. It was magnificent. This was the first time I had Super White sashimi and I really liked it, it had great texture and flavor. The Tuna sashimi was a little disappointing, it was extremely sinewy. I was pulling 3 or 4 pieces of sinew out of my mouth per piece. Not good and I didn't finish that part of my meal. Other than that I liked everything else. My bf didn't like O2 as much as I did, he likes fusion. He is more into crazy, super flavorful sushi rolls and elt that the rolls here lacked flavor. I feel that O2 is more of a traditional sushi place and if your more into traditional Japanese rolls and dishes than O2 is your place. If your more into crazy, super flavored, creative sushi rolls than Japonessa and Umi are probably more up your alley. Overall we had a great time though. The food was good, ambiance was wonderful and service was excellent. I'm more of a traditionalist and will be coming back to try other dishes!

came in and the service was great and the food is really good here not like your typical sushi restaurant. I ordered the O2 Japanese dinner, Dancing spicy toll, and the tuna poke salad. The food came out in a good amount of time. The wait was not that long. The tempura and donkatsu was so fresh and crispy. Even though it was sitting there while I was eating other stuff, it stayed crispy the whole time. Definitely recommend this place!!!

You might be better off looking for another restaurant. My parents and I came here - ordered 15pc. sashimi, calamari and a roll with total check to be $60 with 15% tip included. Wouldn't be complaining if the food lived up to the prices. My mom was handed a broken mug for her tea which is very unprofessional of them, so we told the waitress for a replacement. She did apologize, gave us the replacement but also with new salad (that didn't have any dressing...?) which I found really odd since we never asked for any and it was really small... I feel like this place gets worse every time I go. Won't be coming back.

Very good sushi and how nice to find a place so close to home. The sushi chef and the hostess were very warm and welcoming, which I also appreciated. It is a bit on the expensive side, but I'll be back. Update: I have now been to dinner at O2 and lunch several times. I noticed that one reviewer mentioned all of the extras she was served. I have not had the same experience with that aspect. Sometimes I'm served the extras, sometimes I'm not. Their miso soup is really delicious, the best I've ever had anywhere. The sushi is always delicious, the women's bathroom is an experience, and I'm always treated like a welcomed guest, so I'll keep coming back.

The service was good, the sushi was OK at most. Living in the PNW means fresh fish and good sushi but this place did not stand for that. The prices were a bit high for the quality of sushi you are getting. The atmosphere is nice but the large screen TV was a bit distracting when going out with friends to catch up on life (not tv..). H-Mart just down the street has a much better selection of sushi but it is in more of a food court area.

  • Josh S.

Best sushi I've found in the PNW so far. Absolutely authentic Japanese cuisine. Do not come here if you're looking for chicken teriyaki, this is the real deal! A little high on the price scale but you get what you pay for and the fish tastes extremely fresh so it's worth it for me.

Best sushi place I have been to yet. Me and my husband eat a lot of sushi at least once a week. We were down this way looking for a sushi fix and this was defiantly the place. Its a little on the higher side for price but with sushi this good so worth it. Everyone was very friendly not pushy at all we love it. Will be making the trip south just for this sushi place now for sure. Highly recommend.

I had my graduation dinner here and during that time, I had my first experience eating the squiggly octopus! We ordered a complete meal set that was the typical korean style sushi. If you don't know what this is it is typically comes with a white fish such as halibut as the center focus and various other sashimi, side dishes, the bones left from the fish is typically made into a spicy fish soup. Everything was so good! So now you're probably wondering about this squiggly octopus. When they bring out the octopus it's already all chopped up. You would think its dead... It is... but it's still moving! If some sealife expert can explain to me how this phenomena occurs please enlighten me. When you eat it, it's just dipped in sesame oil for a little flavor and primarily to keep the tentacles from sticking to your mouth. Taste... Nothing unusual. If you're not used to different texture, this will probably not be for you. Great place to check out for sashimi lovers!

Love it even more after coming back! Great sushi and great service. The combination creates a very welcoming atmosphere that you can't help but to come back to. I love this sushi restaurant and it's become my daily Friday routine. Happy hour on yesterday weekdays with $5 rolls but the best rolls are in the menu. Always fresh and tasty. I'm going to try each one! Yum.

We've been told this place was good since we're from California. From the time my bf and I walked in from the time we left...just horrible service. The waitress didn't know anything. She constantly forgot to bring us, water, silverware, an extra plate, and didn't bring our soup till middle of our lunch. Prices were high n not worth the price or time. Will not go back again

I guess sushi just tastes better when I am with my Dad. Every time I have it without him, it's just not as good! I did enjoy the roomy, private tables, quick service, great selection of rolls and a "live" menu. Which I thought meant it was served still moving (what?! I know you've seen the youtube videos!) but it just means they murder it on demand then serve it up. We ordered several different rolls, yakisoba, alcohol, and some live items. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The damage wasn't that bad either! And they have those crazy high tech bidet toilets. After a couple drinks be careful of what buttons you push! If you end up on 99, eat here!

I had been wanting to try this place since Nov '13 but the day I pulled up it was closed with a sign that said "Temporarily Closed". That was three months ago. I figured they went out of business. I was disappointed I missed it since the Yelp reviews were pretty good and it's in my neighborhood. Then last month I noticed cars out front again and they were open. My husband and I went for happy hour. The place was hopping. The restaurant was 75% full but oddly enough, the sushi bar seating was wide open. They offered us the sushi bar but we declined. My husband doesn't eat sushi and it seems strange/rude to order udon at the sushi bar. The happy hour menu was extensive: a full page of appetizers and half a page of rolls. My husband ordered HH gyoza and stir fried udon. I had a HH salmon skin roll and full price nigiri sushi. The beers were $1 off and I had a large Asahi, too. The service was friendly albeit slammed--- they do a good HH business so I get it. They all greet people whenever they walk in the door. The food was above average and the hot food was REALLY hot. No food temperature issues there. We went back last week for round 2. It wasn't happy hour but there were customers in there. Again, no one at the sushi bar. I had the udon soup and nigiri sushi, my husband had the same udon stir fry. Again, great food, good service. We asked the server why it was closed over the holidays and she said they got new management. We have nothing to compare it to since we didn't go previously, but the "new management" is doing a fine job so far. As an aside, the bathrooms have those japanese toilets that spray and dry you (I imagine like a bidet). It was interesting...it had all these buttons and was remote. I had to laugh because there's no "flush" button. You still have to use the handle on the tank. Also, I couldn't figure out how to get the hot water on in the bathroom sink. I went left and right while letting the water run and the two temperatures were cold and ice cold. My husband said the men's room had hot water.

As the three stars says this place was OK. I went in for lunch and the service started out great but ended poorly. My server was very attentive and aimed to please till the end of the meal when she seemed like she was busy with patrons who seemed to be her friends and/or she couldn't wait to end her shift. The head sushi chef was great...he personally brought over the sushi himself even though I was sitting at a table and he even came back to check up on me and made sure I ate all my food (Asian parent style). I had a half dozen oysters and they were excellent. As for the sushi/sashimi it was just ok. Very simple, didn't taste great, didn't taste bad. I had the $30 omakase...I expected something with some wow factor. This place probably can be good...just not my kind of sushi place.

Horrible service. I went there last Sunday. I reserved for 4 people on phone. I asked them "do you guys have lunch special on Sunday?" They said"yes." When we arrive to the restaurant, they said no they do not have lunch special. The older woman came said" ooh the sales said that is new employee, so she does not know." Even in the website, they just show the hours, but not the days. Btw the food in there is little expensive.

The variety in the menu should satisfy anyone's dietary/beverage choices. Everything that is served is delicious and freshly made. The service is friendly. Some of my favorites are sashimi, sushi rolls, soba, and tempura. The side dishes are always fun to try and different every time. We try to dine here as often as possible because it is always a positive experience. And the only Sushi restaurant open for lunch on Sunday!

Tuna tataki.....not on the menu but seriously not to be missed, its my new favorite...anyway, O2 Sushi is definitely a goto any time you want some seriously good tasting asian cuisine. The sashimi is fresh and always presented with class. People are nice and personable and the chefs care about what their serving. Hell yes and 5 stars.....

We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and finished the intense chemo she had. We reserved a room as we got quite some people together. The room is pretty comfortable to accommodate 10 of us together. Service is very attentive too, our waitresses keep coming back to take away our empty plates, change plates for us, and refill water, tea .. etc. On top of that, we received quite some goodies on the house from the chef(s) from time to time, it does make a difference pumping up our joy and love of this place. I don't remember exactly what we ordered, but I do remember the sashimi are very fresh and tasty, I love their house sake as well -- not too strong, the sweetness is just right to jinx with the freshy sashimi. Parking is very easy as it is located in the new plaza. I am sure I will go back to try out other dishes again.

Came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night; there were a few full tables but overall the place was not busy. The place is very open and clean with numerous large TV's. The menu is huge with a large variety of food to choose from. They have a great selection of rolls, sashimi, noodles, soups, tempura.. Pretty much anything you can think of. The food itself is great; sushi tastes fresh and is well prepared. The service is not great at all. For having a nearly empty restaurant and a full staff, they managed to mess up every order. They are friendly, but have no idea what is going on. Good luck getting any water, no matter how many times you ask for it. They completely forgot an entire order of food and my friend had to send her soup back 3 times because they kept bringing out the wrong thing. If you keep your order simple and to a minimum the food is great.

I limbo between a 3 and 4 stars. What looked to me like a budget-friendly conveyor belt sushi place on the outside is actually a full-service, nicely decorated, sit-down restaurant! You're probably thinking, how the heck did you NOT know it was a sit-down restaurant you elite yelper you? Well, my friend and I were in search of a different sushi restaurant that apparently no longer exists anywhere on Aurora. 3 tries later: O2 Sushi. We were greeted professionally and led to our seats. I let my friend have the seat viewing the inside of the restaurant while I stared at the huge flat screen TV which had some sort of diving competition show on--Splash, have you heard of this? The menu is hefty. Pages and pages of appetizers, cold dishes, noodle dishes, sushi and nigiri and sashimi combos and a la carte items. Plus booze. One could get lost reading its menu... I was impressed by the selection and went with a tempura salmon roll ($12) and a half udon ($5). It was nice they have complimentary salad, an iceberg lettuce salad with a Japanese-y sesame oil/wasabi dressing. The half udon was delicious! Now this was a surprise because usually there's just something lacking or something off about udon noodles in the greater Seattle area. I love that they did not skimp on ingredients in the udon..seaweed of various types, bean curd, fish cake.. it all contributed to the flavor of the broth, which was the most complex of all udon noodle broths that I've had. Well done O2, well done. My tempura salmon roll, while good, was not what I expected. It had asparagus and tempura salmon wrapped in your regular seaweed and rice roll. Plus another layer of daikon around that, topped with squirts of mayonnaise, sitting in a pool of a orange speckled translucent sauce. I hate sauce on (or underneath) my rolls. And the orange-speckled translucent sauce was definitely a surprise that I scraped off every time I picked up a piece to eat. It was sweet and kinda acidic and I felt like it was melting my enamel off. I'm pretty sure they did not mention this mayonnaise and sauce business in the description, or else I would have had them omit. Ah well. It is overall a nice restaurant. Nicely decorated and clean. Servers seem professional and courteous and efficient (though getting our check took a while). There's enough on the menu to please every appetite and flavor preference. Just be prepared to spend a chunk of change here. My 5 star half udon and 3 star roll came to $22 after tax and tip.

Discovered this place today and it was really great. Easily the best sushi in the area. Had a couple very spicy rolls and I couldn't resist the Toro which was perfect. It was reasonably priced and has a decent happy hour until 6:30. If you live up north it's the best sushi bar you'll find in the area. I'll be coming here with my wife a lot more.

I'm not one to write reviews normally but this place was awesome. If you're looking for a great place to go for sushi that is near by, come here. Everybody here was so nice and the sushi was great.

not easy to find great sushi restaurants around Lynnwood, but I enjoyed eating here. We had a group of 8 and the waitress was prompt and the orders came out just as fast. I recommend the red dragon roll and sashimi bowl. Great customer service and great selections!

it's ok. the original owners have sold the business. couple changes to the menu but most of the stuff are still there. one thing missing is the live fish. that was the main reason to visit this place. no reason to go here anymore.

Hands down the BEST fucking udon soup I've had in my life!! The broth was super clean and pure tasting, yet bursting with flavor! This is now my go-to place for udon. Oh and their sushi is good too. :) The one thing I didn't care for was the spicy tuna-avocado salad, which was more like a tower. The avocado was mixed with something creamy and gross, while the tuna itself was finely ground into a paste-like substance. I was expecting nice fresh chunks of tuna and avocado, not this weird mashed tuna and avocado thing. They attract a ton of Korean clientele and greet them in Korean as soon as they walk in.

We went mid-day after desperately trying to find a decent Japanese place to eat on a Sunday, and stumbled upon this one. The decor is lovely, comfortable, warm, and upscale without being super fussy. I could do without all the tvs, but I know that's just me. The waitress was very attentive and helpful! She was definitely five stars. I was pleased to see that they had a children's menu, and the two we had with us enjoyed their meals (which were perfectly proportioned for young diners, yay!). We adults both ordered tempura, and an order of their 'dragon roll'. Both were super tasty! I wouldn't mind going back to try some of the other rolls. I probably would've liked the dragon roll to be a bit spicier, tho. The only real detractor here was the price, and oddly...the tea. I typically order tea at japanese restaurants because, honestly, I am cheap, and would rather just get free tea and spend my money on the food. We were a bit shocked to see that we were charged $2.50 (each) for tea. Also, the tea was served with toasted rice floating on the top. It was confusing and did not taste very good (in fact, we both quickly ordered water upon attempting to drink it and pulling hardened rice kernels out of our teeth). Given that this is more expensive than other sushi restaurants we frequent, but not necessarily better tasting, and the weird tea issue, we could only give this one three stars. We'll probably go back (finding a kid friendly japanese restaurant is not so easy), and it did taste good. We just won't order tea.

Some of the best sushi I have ever had. My family and I ordered yellowfin nigiri (so great), ai roll, javap roll, rainbow roll, caterpillar roll, yellowfin scallion rolls, fried veggies with rice and chicken. And the kids ordered the kids plate. My favorites were the ai roll, rainbow roll, and the yellowfin scallions and nigiri. The kids loved the kids plate, which helped the grown ups enjoy the sushi all the more. If you are in town, eat here!

Not too shabby...not too shabby at all. First and foremost, this restaurant is run by Koreans. Now there are plenty of awful Korean run Japanese restaurants, but make no mistake about it: this place is different...in a good way! What makes O2 different is that most Korean run Japanese restaurants don't have the slightest clue about Japanese cuisine. They usually offer non authentic dishes like teriyaki, or sub-par sushi. In other words, they're in it for the profit. However, the owner, as well as a couple of the sushi chefs in the restaurant spent well over 10 years living in Japan. They've been able to pick up a thing or two about Japanese cuisine. This place is huge, and has plenty of seating room. They also have a couple of spacious rooms that you can reserve for larger parties. The modern decor is slick, as well as inviting. The restaurant has a couple of large HDTVs, which makes this place ideal for watching sports events. I usually don't comment about an establishment's restrooms, but yeah...the restrooms are so snazzy looking! O2 offers a wide array of Japanese food options, but their main emphasis is sushi. They have a very impressive selection, and even offer their own concoctions, such as the Highway 99 roll (haha), and Seahawks roll. I've tried several of their rolls and sashimi; all tasted very fresh and delicious. They even have more exotic options such as live octopus if you're up for it. Everything here is pretty moderately priced. The lunch special here is amazing! There are plenty of items to choose from the lunch special. I got the shoyu ramen, kimchi roll, and spicy tuna roll, all for just $10. I was particularly impressed by the gyuudon (beef bowl) that my girlfriend ordered. I'm quite the Japanese food snob, and I've been struggling to find a place that offers decent gyuudon. Well look no further-- O2's gyuudon is the best I've had in the U.S. yet. I would also suggest their takoyaki. I wish they offered more kushi yaki (grilled skewers). They seem a bit overpriced at about $4 each. I can get a better deal and more variety downtown. The service is pretty good overall. The waitresses serve with a smile, and everyone greets you as you walk in. They might not be the most attentive, but there's a service button if you ever need them. All in all, I think this place is definitely worth checking out. It's one of the better Japanese options in Lynnwood. You won't find too many places up north that have the more hard to find Japanese food items such as takoyaki and gyuudon! P.S. You can ask the waiters for kimchi! After all, this place is Korean run.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere! I ordered the chiroshi bowl and the fish quality was the best I've had in at least five years. It was flavorful with perfect texture. I can't speak for all the food on the menu (which is a huge selection!!) but the sashimi is outstanding. The amount of food was filling and satisfying and all at a great price! Between my husband and I our check was less than $40 and we had more food than we could finish, which usually our check at sushi place is much much higher! Clean place, check it out!

Food is very good but service here sucks. The food doesn't even come out in 2 hours. They are not organized, they don't keep track of our orders and they asked us what we didn't eat they didn't bring it to us. This has happened three times to us and it was my sons birthday today. I don't think we are ever going back there again.

The sushi here is below mediocre. And it's expensive! We had red snapper, mackerel, and a toro roll. It wasn't good at all. We got the chicken karaage and it came out dark brown (it's supposed to be light brown). Also after eating two pieces we noticed that the third was this red pasty breaded thing that was disguised as chicken. We didn't end up eating it because it looked really suspect. We showed it to the server who took it back to the cook. Frankly, we should have taken it to the health inspectors instead of giving it to the server who tried to persuade us it was chicken skin... We were not convinced so we asked for a refund. Although they gave us the refund they didn't offer it which was kind of frustrating. We also got the gyoza and it looked like the frozen kind you can get at the grocery store. Finally, when the server came out with the side of Kim Chee and pickled radish, for a party of four we only got one of each for the whole table. I noticed that Korean speaking tables got 2 each for a party of four. It maybe nit picky, but I think it's kind of uncool to do that. I would never come back. There are just too many other options in Lynnwood and Seattle to even warrant a visit here. If I could give no stars I would give no stars.

I came here for lunch with my girlfriend in between classes. When we arrived the place wasn't too busy and it looked really nice on the inside. There were quite a few T.V.'s around if you are alone, need more entertainment than the company around you, or need more entertainment than just your food. So I took a look at the menu and everything did seem very expensive so I kinda just stuck to the lunch special menu. I ordered the "Big lunch" special and my girlfriend ordered a special that came with 8 spicy tuna rolls, and 8 of the pieces with just rice and a slice of fish on time. (the name escapes me right now) But then we waited, and waited, AND WAITED. Apparently a huge group of like 15 people came in before us and every single item they ordered was taken to them before we got our dishes. They did bring us a free plate of edamame (aka soybeans for you casuals) which was nice. But I didn't understand that, normally you don't just focus on a single huge order when you have multiple people working. Why couldn't they have just made a bunch of there dishes and ours at the same time? I shouldn't have to wait that long when a huge group comes first, especially when its not that busy. Then the food came! finally, i got to eat! my big lunch which came with a ton of different things was delicious, there wasn't a thing I didn't enjoy. And then my girlfriends food was also good, but I did have one complaint, the pieces of rice with the slices of fish on top had wasabi in between them. Not that, that would have been a problem, if it was good wasabi but it wasn't, it was slightly minty... gross. So next time just ask for no wasabi! 4/5 stars!

Came here for lunch on a weekday and was very impressed with their lunch menu. For $9, I feel like I got a 4 course meal. My bento came with salad, miso, nigiri sushi, mackeral, tempura, calamari and dessert. I saw on their menu that udon and ramen were only $6! Food tasted fresh and yummy, I can't wait to come back and try dinner.

GROUPON USERS BEWARE! Once we were seated, the waitress asked if we had any discounts. I gave her our Groupon and she proceeded to take our order. All three of us ordered entrees. The waitress then told us that normally, the entrees come with soup and salad; however, since we were using a Groupon, we have to pay extra if we wanted those 2 items ($1.50 and $2.50). This is unacceptable! If Groupon users are going to be treated differently and given compromised value, then that should have been fully disclosed on the Groupon which it was not. I felt misled that my $30 Groupon is not actually worth $30! I wanted to say something immediately but my daughter begged me to hold my tongue until after the meal which I reluctantly did. The food was average with prices on the high side. After we paid (and my daughter was in the car), I approached a woman who appeared to be the owner and started expressing my concern. Our waitress immediately leaped in and in a nutshell, told me that people at other tables with Groupons were perfectly happy with her disclaimer. Really? Should we have taken a poll? Business who chintz and do a bait-and-switch like this really rubs me the wrong way. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Oh my. This place is so great. I have nothing bad to say about this place. The service was 5 out of 5 The food was fresh and delicious 5 out of 5 The ambience is great 5 out of 5 When we walked in the waiter serve us right away. As we were walking to our table, I couldn't help but notice how clean and new everything looked. We ordered the Ladies Combo. It comes with 12 pieces of sashimi 4 pieces of your choice of a roll 1 order of a house special 1 stew to share 8 pieces of Nigiri 2 Miso soups 2 salad 1 edmame to share 1 glass of red wine All for $49 It was so much food for the two of us. We were so full after. They had Geoduct on their menu that I wanted to try, but geoduct is out of my budget. It was $9 dollars for 2 pieces. And I really wanted to try the Uni as well but I am not rich enough yet. The other thing they had that I thought was interesting (I would never try) was live octopus. I have had octopus before, but never one that is live and moving. I would definitely come back. I want to go back tonight actually. But good sushi is too expensive to eat everyday. Overall my fiancee and I had a wonderful time.

I have been to many sushi restaurants but none like this. Their sushi is as fresh as it gets. They told me fish comes in from Japan and Korea 2 times a week by plane. I had sashimi plate which came with many extra items, grilled skwers, grilled fish, spicy soup to finish my meal not to mention salad and some sort of steamed egg in a cup. Place is very trendy, upscale and the bathroom is first class. I had trouble with turning on the fancy faucet on my first vist but since then they put the sign on. It was funny standing there trying to figure out how to turn the water on. It took me a minute or so but eventually I figured it out. I too got a very cool mug!

Great food, priced reasonably, toddler friendly (my daughter had a great time) and extremely friendly service. The sushi rolls were great (try the Love roll). When I go back next, I'm going to try the ramen. A family sat next to us and ordered it...looked really good!

I'm changing my review from 2 to 3. Since the ownership changed, the service has gotten remarkably better and the menu is more consistent. They have some really good deals for their lunch specials where you can choose two items for $9.95 with a wide variety of choices (e.g. udon, ramen, assorted rolls, tempura, etc). However, I was told by my family that they tried to use some sort of deal to get a discount after their meal (groupon or something of the sort) and were told they could only apply the discount before they ring up the bill which seemed a bit odd to me. So just a heads-up, if you do happen to have a discount you want to use, make sure to give it to them before they bring you your bill.

I don't think O2 Sushi is a terrible restaurant. In fact, if I got the udon or bento (both of which were under $20), I probably would have given this place 3 stars. Unfortunately, the omakase was a disappointing experience. Let me start off by saying that although fresh seafood is a requisite for good sushi, it does not equate to good sushi. What I mean is that some types of fish benefit from being marinated. Also, the seasoning, temperature, and texture of the sushi rice should complement the fish. At the risk of sounding like a pretentious foodie, I'll refer you to the movie "Jiro Dreams of Sushi," which illustrates this idea of sushi preparation pretty well. The fish and shellfish at O2 tasted fresh. However, there wasn't any complexity to the sushi, nor was there any logic in progression of the sushi during the omakase dinner. The dude served me yellowtail 3 times. Let me be clear; it was not 3 pieces of yellowtail, it was 9 pieces total. And it was not 3 different preparations of yellowtail, it was 3 servings of plain yellowtail sashimi. Hot dishes came out after I told the chef I was full. The server told me one of the dishes was "something-fish in ponzu." No, I did not have difficulty hearing or understanding the server. That was the description of the dish, verbatim. There were also tons of pin bones in the fish. I've had edible fish bones before; these were not edible. The decor of the restaurant was nice. The servers were polite and reasonably attentive. Based on the other reviews, O2 sushi seems like a decent place to get udon or a bento. If you're planning on dropping some cash on sushi, go to Shiro's in Seattle. It's about the same price or marginally more expensive (I've been there 10+ times), but it's an infinitely more satisfying omakase experience.

I am way beyond impressed with this place. My husband and I went to our go to sushi place and they were closed (Sunday). I yelped and food this place up the street. The menu is insane. We wanted to try a new sushi spot in the north-end, and decided on O2. I was a bit concerned that it might be "too authentic" for my deep-fried sushi loving wife. Those concerns were quickly relieved. We went on a Saturday night around 6:30. It's tough to spot from the street, and must survive only on word of mouth as it doesn't look like anything special from the outside. We were both shocked when we walked in. The decor was very warm but elegant. Everyone within a 3 block radius cheerfully greeted us as we walked in, which I love. Service was great. Attentive when you need them, not lingering when you don't. We ordered the tuna avocado tartar, snow crab and avocado salad, scallop nigiri, spicy crunch roll (my wife's selection) and i had to try the live halibut sashimi. I had no idea how much complimentary food would be coming out. There was a house salad, miso soup, and 4 appetizers. Everything was very good. I particularly liked the quail eggs. Everything we ordered was excellent. The tuna and avocado tartar was incredible. The crab and avocado salad was so light and refreshing, and the mix of greens was perfect. The scallop nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth fantastic. The spicy crunch roll was perfect for what my wife wanted, and I really enjoyed it too. The live halibut sashimi was .... that may be among the top 3 best things I've eaten in my life! We also had a couple bottles of saki and a glass of wine. Total bill was under $100, much less than I expected. I definitely recommend O2 to anyone who enjoys sushi or Korean food, no matter how culinary experimental you are. There's something for everyone. And it's all delicious.

First time here. Started off great! Very Clean! Very Comfortable. Large quantities. Good quality. However the service was lacking. Took forever and the place was not even 35% full. On top of that one of our meals was supposed to be served with salmon and they swapped it for some whitefish. They never said a word about it. They just hoped we wouldn't notice I guess. All in all I doubt we will go back.

My bf and I used to enjoy coming to O2 to eat sashimi and their tsukidashis (appetizer dishes). We were very disappointed to hear that they were closed. After we found out that they reopened, we returned to settle our craving for some fresh sashimi. However, when we checked their menu, they no longer had the sashimi set with tsukidashis. We just decided to try their omakase- the price ranged from 35-50. Each of us ordered the $50 omakase set - and we weren't disappointed at all! Their sashimi and sushi were super fresh! All the dishes were flavored perfectly =). It felt like the dishes were just continuing to come out - the 4 of us were all very full by the time our sushi cam out. O2's staff was super friendly as well - the sushi chef even came out to our table to check on our dishes. We're definitely planning to return and have another go at the omakase set. It's worth trying if you enjoy Japanese food --- and you're in this area =)!

This is not for the squeamish. Freshly cut fish that seemed alive just a minute ago. Totally wonderful dining experience. I want to make it clear that this is not for those just starting out on Sushi/Sashimi. Chef Jin learned how make the authentic Japanese style from Japan and infuses his techniques w/ the Korean style as well (live octopus, freshly cut Halibut and Lobster sashimi etc). This restaurant is for the hard core sushi aficionado.

I had the Chirashi Bowl, which is assorted sashimi on a bed of sushi rice. It was pretty, but not flavourful. The sashimi had rubbery, chewy, or stringy textures in it, which occurs in average sushi restaurants, but never the phenomenal ones. It was not the buttery, flavourful, melt-in-your-mouth heaven that I always hope to encounter when going out for Japanese food. The green tea and miso soup were both disappointing and served too hot; my dinner companion burnt his mouth mildly as a result of not being cautious enough. Green tea should not be served or brewed that hot in the first place, but it had another failing as well: it was very weakly brewed, so it didn't even taste like green tea. It was just really hot water with a slight greenish tint--which cost $3.00. The miso soup had a bitter taste to it for some reason and wasn't complex. The atmosphere and staff were the good points. The decor was comfortable. The music was unobtrusive background music. The staff was friendly and attentive. They also had free wifi which is a great perk. We were given a complimentary piece of cantaloupe as a dessert, which is a nice gesture... but that's the type of unnecessary detail that can't change an overall bad opinion. It could only work as something to set them apart a little further, if they had gotten the basics right. But sadly, they didn't.

This is definitely a Korean Japanese sushi restaurant. The sushi pieces were small but decent. The vinegared rice was sweeter than Japanese sushi rice but passable. The two TVs were distracting and the decor dark. Service was fine. Like the rating says, A-OK.

  • Danielp S.

All the great reviews had me hoping. Oh well. The interior decor is pleasant. The staff is pleasant. The food presentation is pleasant. I feel like I want to give three stars, but I can't because I've given other places with better fish three stars, and in the end, the fish is what it's all about. I ordered the sushi assortment. The fish just wasn't fresh. No intensity, no melty mouth feel, no crispness. Just cheap old fishy staleness like any strip mall sushi in some midwestern city. The cuts were small, though I would not begrudge that for the price. My dining partner had a sashimi bowl, nicely presented, but the quality was no better. The shrimp, for example, was blatantly overcooked to the point of rubberyness, and it tasted muddy. You can't get wild salmon even if you're willing to pay more for it. Here we are in the Pacific Northwest, but you're stuck with blechy farmed Atlantic salmon. Now, salmon isn't a traditional source of sashimi, but if it's going to be offered at all, let's please at least have the choice of something decent. The tea service desperately needs work. We were asked if we wanted something to drink. "Just green tea, please." Toyoda, Shiki, and I Love Sushi all serve green tea gratis. I don't expect everyone to; that's a business decision. Mashiko doesn't, for example, but when you pay for tea at Mashiko, you get to choose sencha, genmaicha, kukicha, or whatever else strikes your fancy, and you get fresh, loose tea leaves in a steeping pot. At O2 you pay $3 for a tea bag made for one cup in a teapot of several cups...and scalding water. The result is barely colored water, over-stewed tea leaves, and a burnt mouth. The miso soup was brewed too hot as well, and unfortunately was not memorable beyond the initial yelp and the long wait for cool-down. Beware the tip suggestions on the receipt. The 15%, 18%, 20% calculations would be helpful if they were what they claimed to be. They're not; the tip is calculated on top of the tax. Adjust accordingly. Hopefully O2 irons out some wrinkles to make a better go of it.

I like this place. With that said, I'm also a creature of habit and tend to always order the same thing. I've never been disappointed with my same thing. I've eaten in the restaurant and also ordered to-go and the service is always good. The first time ordered to-go, i was surprised by how well it was packaged. My husband had ordered a soup that wasn't on the to-go menu and they used a very common sense approach to make it easy for travel, while making sure everything stayed delicious. It's clean, the service is good and the prices are fair. It's a great place to check out if you haven't already.

Had the tonkatsu it was a big order and very good. The salad it came with was good also. Ordered the sushi lunch plate to share it was a big order and high quality fresh fish, even the california roll was good. The highlight of the meal was the toro nigiri so buttery melts in your mouth. Service was awsome!

I came on opening weekend and met the owner. She gave us suggestions on what to order and even gave us a special appetizer, on the house. They're menu items are unique, and I say that because I've never tried any of those things before! The service is great. I've come here for lunch and the server showed me how to prepare my "salad". I've even been here on an "off" day, when it seemed like our server forgot about us and got our order totally wrong. They remade our rolls and gave us another appetizer on the house and offered us free dessert. Their restaurant is even ready to host your next birthday party with a private room and a sushi party platter. I'm very excited to have this restaurant in Lynnwood.

This place looks swank from the outside, which is a good reflection on the inside. The restaurant has a beautiful big layout - everything looks new - featuring two large HDTVs and a Jumbotron by the kitchen. The other thing you notice when you walk in is that it smells like saltwater. An auspicious start to your sushi binge. We ordered an appetizer (fried octopus) but didn't have to. We filled up on the customary dinner entree sides: fresh, crispy cold edamame, hot and salty miso soup with no spoon, salad with sweet dressing. Then we got the rolls. The rolls were the right temperature, well-packed, fresh, and bursting with umami flavors. The fatty tuna with scallion roll was devoured so quickly, I argued with the waitress that it had never arrived. (Quickly realized my mistake and apologized profusely though.) Topped off the meal with a complimentary dessert beverage. I have no idea what it was. Beautiful, reliably tasty fish in an often overlooked location.

So good I literally dined once and came back the next night for more! The first night was an all-out sushi night! The boyfriend and I split one of the combos which I believe was the Ladies Combo, though the bf will insist it was the Gentlemen Combo. Either way, what we got was a huge platter of sashimi, nigiri, and a bunch of appetizers and sides. I remember having miso soup, a salad, gyoza, and some steamed clams. There were a couple other things, but I don't recall everything that was included. The sushi was fresh and delicious, although the assortment is randomly selected. The combo is a good deal, but next time, I think I'd rather individually select my sashimi since there were many other things I wanted to try. Not realizing what we were getting ourselves into with the combo, we had also ordered one of their rolls. The roll was a good-sized portion, and also tasty, but I'll admit that there was nothing particularly memorable about it. Round two was a soup extravaganza! I had the tempura udon and the boyfriend had ramen. Both were deliciously satisfying, with flavorful broths and plenty of extra toppings. Both times, the service was extremely friendly. We received enthusiastic greetings when entering and thank you's from the entire staff when leaving. It's not a huge place, but there is plenty of seating, including a couple of rooms that would be great for groups. I'd love to come back and experiment a bit more or just enjoy a soothing bowl of soup. Definitely one of the better places for sushi in the area.

Pros: Great, fresh fish and amazing variety. You can even eat them still squirming. They are very good about giving a proper cut of fish for the nigiri (not cutting the clam in half, I hate that!). Presentation: the food is beautifully set. Combo platters (especially the sushi ones are best deal). Weirdly, I love that the toilet seats in the bathrooms are heated. They are also open past 9, which for me is awesome. You can go for a late dinner and drink without having be out the door by 9. Cons: Pricey. they just cahnged their menu items around and the wait staff didn't know what the items were. A lot of the fish is listed by the Japanese name and the waitress had no idea whether the fish was more like mackeral or tuna. I knew most of the fish but there were a few new ones even for me. Did I mention they are pricey? they have a "full bar" but no mixers. I am fine with that because I can order a vodka tonic or a scotch neat but if you want a mixed drink or anything with juice/blender/etc. you are SOL.

this place rocks! I'm a total Sushi snob and I hesitated going here since there's really no good sushi up north (except for a small place in Mill Creek). O2's fish quality was excellent. I had some super white tuna, fatty toro, salmon (they were out of salmon toro, but even the regular was nice and fatty), ikura, scallop (sweetest scallops even compared to Seattle places), unagi roll with avocado, the O2 roll, spicy tuna roll, and fatty tuna roll. All of it was surreal. Great fish, small rice portions. I don't really care about the rice since you're paying for the great fish. They were also very generous. They give a vegetable starter and brought some salmon appetizer free of charge as well as two rounds of miso soup! All of that was completely unexpected. Then when we left, they gave us t shirts from their grand opening. The manager (and presumably owner) was very polite and friendly. It's a shame I'll be moving out of Edmonds next month. I live 3 minutes from this place!!! Go there now!

I am so glad these guys are on my way home from work. I may never eat at home again. I love the attention to detail, flavors and atmosphere of this place. I have been in the restaraunt business for 20+ years and had 2 of my own operations. I could not have done a better job then what they are doing. I love this place! Albert

Great lunch specials and happy hour. Staff is very friendly which makes it even more of a reason to keep coming back. Hearing the sushi chefs talk is so entertaining and funny. Love it!

What happened? Did you guys all applied Instagram filters when uploading the pictures or something? How come all the pictures shows how vibrant and delicious everything looked? Worst of all, most of what is pictured wasn't even available when I went and what was available came out VASTLY different than what was pictured. Are those pictures actually taken here? Maybe I was expecting too much, this isn't Korea town and Lynnwood isn't exactly known for its culinary quality and depth. Maybe I went on an off day, a REALLY off day. Here is what I expected and the reality. Live octopus - Reality, none, not even anything in any tanks that I can see? I was really hoping to get to eat it live with the sesame oil and all that, haven't had that in years. Live lobster - Again, none? Which means no lobster sashimi. Live sea urchin in the shell - Yup, none again?! Halibut sashimi platter - They had this, and we ordered this but it came out VASTLY different than what was pictured, huge clumps of radish with mounts of halibut sashimi slices on top. In the pictures, it was a full plate of beautifully fanned out halibut sashimi slices. What we got, was not that. In fact it's not even worth me uploading the pictures of it. Now, there is probably a reason why people (Ie: Japanese) don't do halibut sashimi but I have never had raw halibut before and now I know why they don't do halibut sashimi, the texture is chewy and rigid, the taste has a hint of dirt and not much flavor. I am not suggesting what they served wasn't fresh, it felt fresh but I am just not sure that halibut sashimi should be a thing in the first place. The novelty and uniqueness wore off rather quickly. Some of the pictures show a head with the plate, which is a GOOD thing because you can see the eyes and at least have some idea how fresh the sashimi is. Again, not suggesting it's not fresh but it's not exactly inspiring to see differences in plating. Deluxe sashimi platter - Ok it's cheaper than eating at Shiro's BUT it is not as good, it does not match the color of the ones seen in pictures... Perhaps I sat under some bad lighting but the quality was just ok, wasn't bad but wasn't great. Seems to coincide with the pricing, just not nearly as good as I expected. Skewers/sides - Now to come here expecting world class Izakaya is an unrealistic expectation, with that in mind STILL this was very very disappointing. Everything felt like it was cheap sockeye salmon fried or rolled into a ball. We got a few "on the house" things, which felt like it was stuff they were just wanting to get rid of before it had to be thrown out. What wasn't sockeye salmon was just things that felt half-assedly done and small in portion size. Americanized rolls - I understand it's in Lynnwood and they have to make the usual California rolls bastardized with as much nasty spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce as it is geometrically possible on said cylindrical surface area, HOWEVER I got the sense that this is what this place is really about, just subpar seafood with lots of crappy bastardized sushi. Daily specials - Out of sheer desperation that NONE of the items I wanted that I saw in pictures being available, I order a "special". The mantis shrimp sashimi, well I thought it would be ok since I have had it overseas but THIS definitely did not taste fresh, at best it was defrosted mantis shrimp meat. Unforgiving disappointing AND expensive. Once upon a time, about 10 years ago there existed a place called Badasushi around the same location as O2, it was mind blowingly delicious, there has yet to be anything even remotely close to what that restaurant offered. It was the pinnacle of korea-style seafood/sushi, they served everything from live octopus, fish, lobster, etc. They had a seafood stew in which they used live fish and lobster, it was the best seafood stew I have ever had. It was just like Saek Gik in NYC. When I came here, judging from the pictures, that's what I expected this place to be like. What I found, was a mediocre Korean/American sushi joint with pretty much NONE of the pictures shown here being accurate (except the bastardized rolls). I think if I was to come back, I need some of you brave souls out there to sacrifice yourselves to eat here and post NEW pictures of the same stuff posted from last year (the stuff that looked amazing). I don't know what happened but this in no way felt like the restaurant in the pictures, this might be a good place to get some average priced and about average quality sushi with lots of drinks but what it is, it is NOT Badasushi or Sik Gaek. I pray every night and have sacrificed numerous cats and dogs on my homemade pentagram that another good Korean style seafood/sushi restaurant will open, yet my prayers have not been answered. Perhaps it's time to change religions. Usually my expectations are low for dining in WA, so to see this I was so excited. Words cannot describe the despair I felt.

Came here for dinner and ordered ankimo, hamachi collar, hamachi nigiri, the O2 roll and the rainbow cucumber roll. I would come back just for the hamachi nigiri - the most fatty and fresh I've had State-side! The O2 roll was spicy and interesting and the ankimo was creamy and fresh as well. The least favorite was the rainbow cucumber roll as it used the cheapest parts of tuna and rolled it up with avocado. Nice cozy Japanese sushi place off the beaten track - although for some reason they were playing church TV in the background. This is a definite come-back for fresh sushi up north!

First review! I'll try to be thorough. So wandered on in here with some friends (sushi craving!), not knowing if it was opened or not since there was no NOW OPEN/GRAND OPENING signs everywhere and I've seen this place under construction for some time. The waitresses told me the official grand opening is on 6/1/12, but before then they're doing what they called a "soft opening", where they're open but they don't advertise it massively, so they don't get massive crowds of customers, to train the staff and what not. We got 20% off the entire bill for customers before the grand opening. Food highlights: Pretty great sushi. Best spicy tuna roll I've ever had! Super fresh, quality sashimi. Vegetable croquet (i think it was called) was yum. Service: Really friendly staff! Although I don't know if this was because there weren't many other customers ("soft opening"). The staff kept giving us free food too, saying "please try this as well". I don't know if the complementary dishes are because of the pre-grand opening as well. Also, there were these cute mugs with the logo on a bunch of shelves and my friend commented on them. One of the staff must have heard because when we were about to leave, they gave us each a free one! The interior is beautiful too, with TVs on every wall. to sum it up... Pros: Awesome service; amazing food; great atmosphere; 20% off before June 1st Cons: no background music playing (at least when we went) I'll have to go again after their official opening and write an update review. I hope they stay the same in terms of quality in food and service even after they start getting bigger crowds.

Sushi was fantastic! Ordered the Chirashi (selection of raw fish over rice) along with Uni (urchin) and Amaebi (sweet shrimp). The portions were perfect and the fish was fresh -- brought in daily! Price was very reasonable for the quality. The restaurant is great for large parties. We had 12 in our group so they sat us in a private room. Was perfect because had 6 children and there was plenty of room for them to walk around when they got restless, without disturbing the other diners. Only thing I wish they would improve is the Sake selection and their knowledge about the wines to help you make a great choice.

I've been here a few times. The food is average. Some on the wait staff are friendly, and some aren't. Tried stopping in for sushi the other day, and waited for 10 minutes at the front of the restaurant to be seated, but never even got acknowledged...even as several of the wait staff rushed by us. I don't mind waiting to be seated, but at least let me know that you know that I'm there and waiting. Won't be back!

Food was good, if you ever get it..... Table of four. Restaurant was only half full. Waitresses seemed confused and non attentive. Waitresses seemed more attentive to Korean customers (this is Korean owned). Ordered at 6 pm. At 6:30 - Took 30 minutes for first dish to come out including miso soup for everyone. At 6:45 - Another 45 minutes for half of two dishes. At 7:00 - then an hour the remainder half of the second two dishes and the last dish. Everyone was hungry especially the last person who had to watch everyone eat their food and continue to wait and wait, not happy, took forever to get food/more water. Rating was based on POOR service. Would NOT come back unless I've eaten before coming, which is pointless.

[THE INTERIOR]: O2 is still a relatively new restaurant, hence the interior is very modern and clean. Just looking at the decor, it screams "yes a lot of money was spent on the interior". [THE FOOD]: I've eaten lunch at O2 about 5-6 times already. Their lunch special is offered 7 days a week, and it is a very good deal. I always either get the "Lunch Combo" or the Katsudon". The Lunch combo offers you a choice of 1 item from Item A (Udon, MisoRamen, Cold Soba), and 2 items from B or C (long list of choices!). I've also ordered some of their rolls, such as the spider roll and the temperu rolls. Both are very good! At the end of your meal, they give you a small cup of "shi-ke" which is a Korean rice punch. [THE SERVICE]: The other reviews complain about the service, but the multiple times I've been here, I've never really had an issue with bad service. The servers have been all attentive, and they've never mixed up any of my orders before. [OVERALL EXPERIENCE]: I really like the clean and fresh atmosphere that O2 gives. I think cleanliness is especially crucial in a sushi restaurant that serves raw fish. You can tell the food quality is very good, and the prices are reasonable. Also, definitely check out the very nice bathrooms!! [RATING]: +5 stars for good quality food, great service, and clean interior. I really can't think of anything negative about this place.

Wow, extremly slow service and no sorry even after they forgot the order. It was a weekday dinner time and the place was not full. We didn't get any complimentary side dish except the hot tea and a small bowl of salad, and it took an hour to have only one entre out. Another 10 mins after we had to call the waitress to ask what happened to our order and I noticed she picked up a sushi plate that had been sitting on the chef shelf for ages! We expected an apology but instead she shared quite arrogant attitude to us when I had to ask about the missing appetizer. Well, an appetizer is supposed to come out early, no? The dinner turned out the most terrible experience on our north seattle dining list.

So we went here based off the reviews. Up in Lynnwood on 99, close to Petsmart. OK , strange location. No worries. Interior was lovely. Service was very nice. Smelled a little funky. A little too fishy. Hubby and daughter ordered Ben-to Box Dinner ($17) each and my son and I ordered 4 rolls to share (O2 roll, Spicy Tuna, Volcano, Alaska). The rolls are kinda spendy, but you get a HUGE roll, not the normal 4 piece roll, but a 8-10! My hubby and daughters food came out promptly. So they ate..and we waited..and waited and waited...25 minutes later, here comes our rolls. Waiter apologizes, but doesn't do anything about it. I'm a big believer in compensation. So the rolls were impressive to look at. How were they in taste? Meh, it was OK.. I have to say that it was just as good as the stuff i get off the conveyor belt at Blue C, with less wait. It wasn't anything stellar, and i wouldn't recommend it. ...The final bill for the 4 of us was $96.00. Ill stick with the conveyor belt if this is my other option...

Went there with a friend last night for some sushi (based on yelp reviews) and LOVED it! The sake was delicious. . .and our server gave us options. The sushi was great. And FRESH. And quick. Tons of variety, too. Little slow on the service in general, but I think most of that is due to the fact that they have not even been open 2 weeks! And then there were the bathrooms. I have a thing for cool bathrooms. . .and this one had a remote for the toilet! How cool is that?

I went o2 sushi with my roommate and one of my friend last thursday. I ordered couple rolls(spider and 18601) and my friends ordered Lady combo which comes with several pieces sashimi and some sushi. we loved everything especially yellow tail sashimi and spider roll. rolls were huge than other different sushi restaurants and tasty. services were great, there was a button to call waitress and it was really helpful.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm. There were 2 other tables with customers and I was seated promptly. I ordered the Sushi Bar Combo and Nabeyaki Udon. I received the typical appetizer salad and one other appetizer that I couldn't identify, but both were good. The Sushi Bar Combo came out first and looked very close to the picture posted here on Yelp. The taste of the sushi was fresh and buttery. I'd definitely eat sushi here than at a restaurant with conveyor service. As for the Udon, the broth was clear and hot, and the container they give you keeps the soup from getting cold. The Udon had lots of noodles, but only one piece of tempura shrimp. If you're a fan of vegetable udon, you won't be disappointed. O2 is a great place to go to if you're in the north end and like Japanese cuisine.

Service, atmosphere, cleanliness and food is top drawer. This was my first time here and the reviews were mostly positive so we decided to try it. Food was excellent. Presentation was perfect. I can't wait to try it again. I think the prices were pretty close to normal or even lower than most. I hope they stick around for a long time.
